Otto staff are always very understanding and helpful. During lockdown they have been so supportive and without this support I don t think I would have been able to work during the lockdown. I highly recommend Otto.

Moving from Rental with Drover to Rent-to-Buy with Ottocar was a right decision I made as I was able to obtain a brand new Toyota Pruis 2017 plate car since July 2017 and I have enjoyed the pleasure of driving this type of model hybrid car as I've been saving more money on fuel.

Well, meet one guy there, he had no manners a single bit and he expects to leave with a brand new car but couldn't show a good driving example! Was not ready to accept his mistakes as a driver even when given the opportunity and time to do so.. He could just learn from it and be even better Which would have gotten him his brand new car, but he wouldn't!! Sad! Couldn't believe it because I was actually the first driver for the test.. Common sense I guess!!
And he will leave his bad reviews saying they are bad people, or end up working for uber where he can pray on vulnerables!!!

So I ve heard a lot of negativity about the Otto Cars driving assessment and thought I d still give Otto a try in order to rent.
Now I ve been a driving instructor for AA for the last 7 years and my daily car for the last 2 years is a BMW 5-Series: despite having the experience I was told am a high risk driver (unsafe driver) and Otto told me they don t want me to kill someone and the blood to be on their hands!
Otto cars needs to revisit their business module about their driving assessors attitude and understanding.

Ridiculous service and I would never recommend it to anyone.Visiting their office can be waste of time. I called them to rent a car. They asked me few questions and mentioned, I would need a driving assessment before I rent a PCO car from them as I have never driven before. Once I reached their office, it s far away to rent a car but they also refused to asses my driving skills. Even, the guy mention about the insurance that they might need to pay high insurance for me. Imagine if they are so untrustworthy from the beginning, what if you meet an accident and need their assistance.
Please don t trust their words over the phone and ask you to visit their office. Visiting them

I've received 5 star service from the very beginning.
Car was in very good condition, clean inside and I got a voucher to use a local car wash for free which was nice touch. I hired it right while we were still in the lock-down so it was parked up for around 2 months.
Any communication was answered promptly as well as deposit and the overpaid rental days were refunded almost instantly.
Would definitely come back if needed to rent a PCO car again.

They IMMOBILISE THE CAR if your late on your rent.
Once I was late on my weekly rent by a couple of days. While I was driving in the middle of the motorway with customers in the car, I kept getting engine warning lights coming up on the dashboard. The car started slowing down, luckily for me I was near the hard shoulder so I pulled up on it.
The car was immobilised & wouldn t move. I called Otto & explained my situation but they said there was nothing they could do at that time. I had to call another car for my customers & then get a tow-truck to tow away the car for me. The next morning I paid the rent that was owed & they sent me a PIN number that started up the car.
One of the worst experiences I ve had with a rental company.
I went to dulwich branch to rent a car. How they question me when I enter I felt like why I came here. One of the staff who did driving assessment said to other staff if he never drive automatic car I am not going to teach him how to drive the car. Tell him to drive another car first before do the assessment
I have experience in driving 5 years and never had any issue. When I drive the person try to find every small mistakes like I learn to drive. you can be honest to new drivers when you don't give car to new pco drivers just let them know we don't rent car for new pco drivers.
Such a bad experience at the Hammersmith branch, the staff very rude and disrespectful, I just found out that they lyed against me, the Hammersmith branch said that I failed their little driving assessment when I haven't even taken one yet. They have accused me of failing just because I stood up for my right and didn't want to be looked down upon. It is embarrassing to see that the staff of such a company could make such a false accusations. Embarrassing
I have been dealing with OTTO cars for awhile. My experience has been positive, especially, due to the COVID-19 period in which Matt Cole was beyond professional and put his heart and soul into everyone's situation. I had to cease temporarily my agreement with OTTO and we worked out a best option for us both (Otto and I). Therefore, I am pleased to recommend their services to anyone who is willing to start a new chapter in PHD career. They will definately be on your side.

I'm very disappointed by the customer treatment... they are not professional at all most of the adverts on their website is not true. I spent my day to go for rent to buy I passed all their driving assessments and safety but when I get to the reality the customer service treated me very rude and disrespectful and many more bad and unprofessional company!

When I called them and asked about specific car model - they sayed they have them and I can come to collect them right now, but when I arrived to the office (same day), they sayed cars will be ready after couple weeks.
So they are time and money wasters!

He was able to answer all of my questions and gave very honest advice on all of my options, going through the advantages and disadvantages of rent to buy or hire. For the driver assessment, it wasn't all bad as long as you are safety aware as Omar was very on point. Overall good experience
AVOID.. There are so many company's out there would offer you far better service and cheaper prices if you want to rent to buy and even more weekly milage allowance with more car options then You'll have to pass a driving assessment or more like a driving test.. And if you do and go for it then make sure you drive like a learner driver with both hands on the wheel and take a good 5 min on the junctions.. The funny thing is the type of drivers they want is the type of driver's that usually cause accidents.. After being a bus driver for over 6 years and a mini cab for 3 years their excuse to fail me was not taking enough time in the junctions haha

Very unprofessional. Tell you on the fon that car is available than you go there and there is nothing. They have hired all the weirdos of the world to do the risk assessment test. These guys will not judge you on your driving, they will basically ask you some random personal questions, on the basis of that they can fail a driver, whos been driving for 7 years without any accident....lol. they will ask you something personal not related to driving, if they don't like your answer they will start taking out mistakes in your driving. How stupid this company is it. Just imagine how many customers otto car have lost.

Wasted my day completely, after calling them a day in advance and asking if they had a Toyota prius available saying yes. Went to the office then said they dont ! After that they asked me to do a test, even thoe I got 20 out of 25, they said NO ! Whats the point of wasting my time ? And yours !
Tell people about this silly test which you only offer to some and not all (which is unfair and against trading standards by the way) questions you have pulled from google not even fully on the high way code. Felt really disrespected by you. How many people come there and don't even speak English properly and you try and give tests for cars !! The least you can do is put this information on your website or when we call so we don't waste our time !

I normally don t write reviews but on this occasion I have to.
1. Finding the place was a mission, no permits provided have to use pay and display.
2.Their office is in a container, cluttered and tight.
3.Members of staff did not formally introduce themselves or explain the procedures.
4. Even at this point no one knows if the cars are available.
5. You have to take a theory test, only mentioned when I arrived their.
6. Another surprise you have to take a practical test.
7. Their fleet of cars have cameras and gps trackers built in, they like to spy on you.
8. I am 31, I have a clean driving license and been driving for 10 years now.
9. Despite my experience I did not meet their guidelines and they refused to give me a car.
To sum it up this was a terrible experience from start to finish. My whole day was wasted due to lack of information provided by Otto cars team. If I had been informed about the theory and practical test from start I would have opted for another supplier saving me a lot of time and hassle. Their intention from the beginning was to only inform me when I arrived at their office, this is a very sly approach from this team as they know the customer would have no choice then but to sit the test in order to save a wasted journey. Their guidelines on how to drive a Toyota Prius is a joke, to be honest you have a better chance of passing your driving test again. I have rented many cars before from different suppliers and had no issues. Otto cars are treating their Toyotas like Ferraris, so much excess you have to go through just to rent a car from them. People do yourself a favour and go to Europcar or enterprise.
I have been with this company for 3 weeks now and I am getting very bad service from the admin department. If you need any help, they will not care about your situation as long as they get your money.

No professionalism
I am driving a brand new Ford Galaxy Titanium X on Rent to Buy scheme & the procedure was very straight forward. They asses you not on the basis of numbers (CREDIT SCORE) but see your driving skills and experience. Muhammad Ali was exceptionally good helped me through the whole procedure generally all the staff was very helpful! I highly recommend otto cars to all PCO drivers.
