A little tasting is expensive, but it is quite good space. The view of the vineyard from the second floor is also good. From the sky it looks like it looks like a glass.

Currently it seems that it can only be booked, and last August I went back to see only the vineyard and the exterior. I made a reservation online in December and put it in.
We had a taste and a basement, but it was a wonderful word.
In the past, I visited several wineries in Napa, but this is exceptional. We recommend that you make a reservation by all means.
This was a very high-class winery with really interesting history. They are very meticulas throughout the wine making process. Vicki our tour guide was welcoming, friendly and very knowledgable. I would strongly recommend her!
No sooner did I get excited than I tried to order more with with them. Despite 6 emails and 5 phone calls they could not ship a single bottle of wine for less than $70 to Boston (even via ground) and they told me I would have to wait two weeks before they knew if they could ship it. Don't order directly from the winery and don't waste your time with a staff who is too busy for you. Also expect a SUPER LONG wait. So sad that customer service is so poor.
"Well worth a stop if high end Cabernets are your thing."
Their wines are fantastic! Make sure to give their Overature a try as well.
Wine is not bad, but the service could not be less welcoming.
Beautiful area. Ultra modern. A little disappointed. Best wines around. Perfection ... A little Arabic perfection. Lack of smell and taste without reservation in my opinion. The next generation is about to overtake the master ...
Not any history, explanation of what they do, little to no customer service. Also, flying the French flag with the American flag. Save your time and money for one of the other 479 wineries.
Opus One is definitely one of the most beautiful wineries in the Napa Valley. The winery has a beautiful scenery of rolling hills all around it. It s remarkable architecture and design is mesmerizing. It definitely feels like you re about to go into a journey. The wine tours are done by appointment; you definitely need to plan ahead. The tour was very intimate and the wine we tasted was amazing. They walk you through the process of wine making. From the plantation of the wines, harvest, and hand picking the best grapes, combining fruits and aging the wine. Every step of the way has a team of passionate masters of their craft. I personally have the honor to know the wine maker, he s a wonderful person. He s very passionate about wine. In the tour it really shows how every person that works in the winery is important and a key to make a bottle of wine. Their focus to every little detail and process is mind blowing.
The place is amazing and the wine tasting is really good
Great place great staff and great atmosphere, truly an honor to be a part of their event
They changed their policy and NOT family friendly anymore.
Kids are not allowed not only in their tasting room but also in out side.
That s so sad.
We might not visit here for more than 10 years like until our little one become a teenager.
Wines are great but bit pricy, and they increased the price so much.
Visit once, and that's enough.
I used to bring children with me, but now I can't accept children.
I can't even be in the garden area, and I'm told to bring an adult with me to wait in the car.
I'm very sorry that I was able to visit with my child before.
The wine is certainly delicious (I've been to it a few times over a decade ago) but the price has risen considerably and when asked if it's worth it...
I feel that visiting once is enough.
I used to go there because it was one of the wineries I could visit with my children, but I don't think I'll be visiting for more than 10 years until my child becomes teenage.
Awesome people, exceptional wine. A wonderful experience
Over price. Service quantity lots of rooms to improve. In particular this guy, pretty rude considering serving wine tasting of USD75 per person.
Not great hospitality. Not just us either, a couple we met at silver oak said they had the same experience. Go elsewhere....
Need reservations, you can only take few pictures outside without reservation but cannot taste wine without reservation. Wines are relatively expensive.
You can't even get to the store if you don't want to buy their wine. They'll show you the price at the door and tell you if you are not interested they can't take you in. Disgusting
One of the nicest winery here in Napa, price a bit steep if ur not really wine aficionado, but if you are, then it's a treat.
The woman making reservations is very rude. I would not want to come here simply because the two times I have called it is very cold and uninviting.
Thought i signed up for the tasting and the tour, but i didnt. But still a great place to be. $50/4oz glass of Opus One.... gives me another reason to come back!
My favourite winery in Napa
Beautiful, well designed and quite emphasised in science, just can t help to keep purchasing their wines year after year
We ve been wanting to stop in here for a while and finally got a chance. The property is spectacular. Currently under renovations which should be done by the spring but still very nice. The wine was amazing! Mael took care of us and helped make the experience a great one. It s on the pricier side but with it. You can always share a flight if you want to keep it a little more affordable.
Amazing afternoon of tasting and seeing the barrel cellar. Laura was an excellent host, spending so much extra time making the experience that much more special.
Well worth the stop, the service was excellent and the wine was fantastic.
I just love how amazing these wines are, you can enjoy them young or cellar for a long time. Last time I had an aged bottle from you was 1992 and I blew my mind. Just opened a 2014 and I love how well structured it was. Finding a good reason to open 2015. Cheers!!!!
I used to be able to go all the way to the top and look at the entire vineyard but this time the receptionist said I need to have a reservation =/ I bit sad that this is the case since this is the must stop place I always bring people to.
Recommended for one of the best wines of the Napa Valley ca
Absolutely delicious. Reminder to potential visitors to book ahead as it is one of the few wineries in Napa Valley that requires a reservation.
2015 Opus One is fantastic - my favourite in Napa Valley, although the Overture is not so far behind.
Extraordinary the largest area of Napa beautiful harmony and a lot of requirement
Service is good but I could not enter the building
They are remodeling now. Why did not they give information about remodeling. This is unfair
They have to say about remodeling in web site
Excellent winery, amazing vineyard, superb wine but the people!!.. they're just can't get any better... take the tour, drink the wine and enjoy every single minute.
Pretty expensive. The building is cool. expect to spend at least $50 on tasting.
Beautiful estate...some of the best wine tasting anywhere..expensive but you won't regret it
The concierge isn't accommodating. Lost a costumer. Very disappointed in the experience.
Has the Napa zoo atmosphere and if you like people watching a good place to come. Tastings are expensive as are the wines.
Just got back from trip to Napa. First taste and tour was Opus One, don't miss this one!! At first quite intimidating but after meeting our tour guide (Morgan) and doing the tour I was very impressed and a lot more knowledgeable when finished. Don't miss this one, best wine we had and we went to several of the higher end wineries. I will go back!!!
We were here at first day of harvest. A great time we had, and i even spoke with the headwinemaker!
After wine tasting, the wine elsewhere became meaningless.
Ultra high end facility, product and pricing. Must have reservations.
I love wine and very gratifying that we have this type of wine in California and so far one of the Best!!
Excellent customer service, our host Young lady was outstanding
Because the tasting room is getting smaller, it is now a full reservation system.
It seems that a big room will be available next year!
Opus One has always been a great cabernet maker and I have enjoyed several of their bottles over the years
One of my favourite wine. A kind of pilgrimage for me.
First off, amazing wine! Best Bordeaux-style wine I had in Napa, hands down.
On the flip side, Opus One is not cheap and they're certainly not giving it away at their winery. I found the front desk staff to be very friendly and accommodating (we got in at the end of the day without a reservation, which is probably not a good plan), but the staff that poured our glasses were a bunch of 20-something snobs who seemed to think they were somehow essential to the production of this epic wine.
So, do you want to taste a truly amazing wine served in a beautiful estate while you're in Napa? If so, visit Opus One. But go for the wine, not the friendly atmosphere.
I booked the tasting date and time from the web and visited. We entered a castle-like building and received a tasting of three wines for $ 70. It's okay to share it with two people, and I enjoyed it while looking at the vineyards on the roof of the building with a glass. You can also buy wine after tasting. Opus One was $ 300 and Overture was $ 180 when I went. I didn't buy it because I had one Opus One in my cellar at home, but I regretted that I should have bought it after I got home.
Opus one to taste on the terrace was awesome. There is one person who speaks Japanese alone. Credit cards can also be used.
I have been here a couple of times and am not impressed. The wines are overpriced for what they are. There are several wineries throughout Napa/Sonoma, providing a better experience and superior wines.
We came from Atlanta to Napa especially for Opus One. They were closed for maintenance the entire weekend we were there without updating google maps. It s pretty frustrating as we love Opus One and we re looking forward to visiting
Amazing experience. :) the staff was very knowledgable and kind (Asian lady) and I like how they keep guests by invitation only so there aren t too many people and it s less overwhelming. Lovely place to spend an afternoon - feels a bit like being in a spa. 5 star relaxing experience with the most amazing wine
Very formal experience, but great wine and awesome tour.
Reservations are required for wine tasting. The winery does not offer a lot as far as tours or views go, since they make a limited selection of high end Cabernet. I tried couple of their pourings the day we visited and they were very good. The winery and tasting area are elegant.
Don't be intimidated by the architecture or the quietness! Grab a glass of wine, wander the grounds, and enjoy the unique, elevated view of Napa Valley.
Beautiful, but it requires a reservation. I don't drink, but the people I go with tell me the wine is very good.
Absolute tour is recommended. But I feel that it was somewhat troublesome because I could only do it over the phone. It was paid but we had tastings, and it was fun to go around with a guide like a madam that looked elegant. Used barrels can be sold at high prices if they become Opus One. Good business.
We went to opus one to do wine tasting and all the wines we tried were awesome!! Opus one is sold very expensive in Japan but the price here was much cheaper. Overture is the limited products that you can only get here so you should get it. Also the staff were very kind and gave us lot of information. Also they helped me to find my wallet(I lost my wallet somewhere and didn't know where I lost. I called all the wineries I visited and they were most supportive. The staff, Jackie, she was very helpful and helped me find one. She called me back next morning when she received a call from different winery about lost and found)
We definately will visit again!
I went here with a group of seven on a Thursday.
I'm not a much of a wino, so I didn't get a lot of pleasure from the wine itself, but I had a great overall experience here. The place feels unforgivingly ostentatious and pretentious, but the people who worked there were cordial, smooth, and relaxed.
The view from the top is great. It was uncrowded on the Thursday we visited so we just hung out upstairs for awhile.
It was my friend's bachelor party and happened to be his birthday, so they gave a us a bonus tour of the racking rooms. Very high tech and interesting.
Always wanted to try this wine. Don't understand why/ how they can charge so much for it. It WAS good , but ...
It was a great winery because it was a representative of California wine.
Dog unfriendly. No signs up so my friend decided to go inside and ask. They told her no and not even on the grounds. She comes out to tell me, they follow 3 steps behind to tell me again... Snooty beyond words.
Information at the time of 2012.
It looks like you can't enter without a reservation. I had the tour crew contact me.
At the price at that time
Opus One $ 265 / up to 6 bottles, $ 45 / cup
Overture $ 115 / up to 6 bottles, $ 20 / cup
I felt that more was poured than it looked.
The place where you climb the stairs is a terrace with a view of the scenery. In the refreshing breeze and fresh green of May, the passengers who drink Guigui slowly took their eyes.
I went around a few wineries on this day, but I did n t rush around. The amount of wine varies depending on the winery. Opus One has a solid amount, so I want to drink it over time, but I can't do that on tour. We recommend that you go by yourself.
It is written on the toilet paper as OPUS ONE, and some people take it as a souvenir. Let's stop.
Wine is excellent! My favorite! The experience very poor! No tour, nothing . If you go for a tasting. They will give you 3 glasses of wine for 75$. That s it
After the tasting, we visited the brewing place. It was a very good experience.
Went to Opus 1 today for the first time. It was terrible. No tastings. $50 to $75 a glass. We had $65 glass of 2011 reserve. Not even a 6 oz pour. It was very good but not worth the money. The place was stuffy.
Should go once.
You can buy bottles at an affordable price.
If you like pretentious, snobby people and over done setting offering overpriced wines, then go. But if you like value for price, thoughtful, warm and knowledgable staff and AMAZING wine, just keep driving and to to Vincent Arroyo Winery up the road another 15 mins. Free tastings, better staff and way better wine. 'Nuf said.
First things' first. The Opus One wine is spectacular. The winery was beautiful. I did a last minute reservation to visit the winery the day before. I was fortunate enough to get that reservation because I hear reservations have to be done weeks in advance. It was quite a drive to get their from Santa Rosa but it was worth the trip. I didn't get the chance to take the tour or hang around long because I had to catch my flight, but was able to purchase a few bottles and was rewarded with some free tasting for my troubles.
I think it is one of the best red wines for NAPA. It is recommended that this visit be listed later. Because it is too early to taste, it will feel lighter for other wineries.
Very popular winery, beautiful building. Good wines and crowded on weekends. Reservations are required if you want to visit this estate.
Pretentious staff make unhappy
It was just wast of time and money
Best wine in Napa. Highly recommend for people who enjoy fine wine. Although they only make 1 wine, it is absolutely lovely and well worth the visit. I was privileged to be able to try the 2009, 2013, and 2015. My favorite was the 2013! It was extremely complex with wonderful flavors.
Also, I had the pleasure of meeting Mael who did an wonderful job explaining the history of the vineyard and providing recommendations.
Had a wonderful tasting experience with Laura on a Sunday morning. Arrived a bit early for a 1030 tasting and accommodated graciously with an informative host. Would definitely recommend for anyone traveling to Napa with the goal of tasting some great, high-end wine.
