Its a spectacular view! Nothing like it However its very expensive and the menu is just okay.
What an amazing location. Always enjoy catching up with friends either before or after a performance at the Sydney Opera House. Lots to look at and a fabulous view.
Excellent views of the harbour. Nice place to chill out
A chill place for drinks with friends with a good view of Harbor bridge and Opera House. The place was a fun hangout in the city-other than the bartender who rudely told us he did not want pictures of him taken (even after we clearly told him we were taking pictures of our drinks and he was not in the pictures at all). It wasn't about so much about what he said, rather how he said it. I think he could have been polite. If you don t want to ruin your party vibes, refrain from taking photos anywhere near the bar-stay away especially from the tall bald bartender who seems to dislike Asian people!
Update: I was happy to receive a response from the owner regarding my review saying,
Hi Drishti,
Thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback about your experience. We would like to take this opportunity to let you know that we don't have a tall bald bartender working at Opera Bar & you have mistaken us for Opera Kitchen who is a separate business to us right next door. This happens quite often as people perceive us to be the one business due to the similar names. We do hope you can visit us at Opera Bar soon and we would be more than happy to pose for any photo you would like to take as all our staff welcome the opportunity.

I just checked their official website (Opera Bar) and the picture of their bar which they have posted there is the same as the one we went to in February 2019 (I had posted a photo of the bar with our drinks earlier and have posted an additional one with our exact location at the bar). I also checked the official website of Opera Kitchen and that was definitely not the place we went to, so still not convinced there. Maybe I was wrong about which bartender it was because it was dark. Nevertheless, appreciate the response :)
Solid place to eat and drink with great food, drink and views. Prices are competitive for the area considering the incredible view you get. It s always got a really good vibe and a good mix of locals and tourists
We ordered some beers and pizzas with the QR system and it seems that the order did not arrive, but we paid. We had the receipt from the bank but they didn't think we had asked. In the end, after arguing for 20 minutes, they found that it was a failure in the system and they brought us our drinks and food. But at first they didn't want to bring anything even though we had paid for it and we showed them the bank receipt but they didn't believe us.
Very impressive place to have a drink. Right on water with views of bridge. Only issue I have is the over priced drinks....but fair enough with the view.
Good place to have a ccouple drink next to the Sydneys Icons :-)
The food and music was great but the seagulls were aggressive pests.
Nothing beats this place on a lovely spring or summer afternoon, where you can grab some drinks with friends and just kick back. It's also pretty good for a quick bite before your Opera House gig. Although super expensive! Great atmosphere, cool tunes. Getting a spot is a bit of a pain and the drink service is a little slow but such is life. You can take in the amazing views and appreciate what Sydney has to offer whilst waiting for your drunks. Oh, also pretty good for people watching. There are all sorts which is what I love.
Always festive with great views of the Harbour Bridge, good service and decent food. A great place for a drink and catch up with friends
In 2015 I had the locals burger and sometimes I find myself thinking about it....
A beautiful location to see the Celebrity Solstice leave for a cruise.
Great location and views over the harbour, but the food is awful and seriously let's this place down. If you are just out for drinks then you couldn't go far wrong.
Great view, good food, great place to have a drink. I wish there were more seats with shade or undercover.
Beautiful View of the harbour with plenty of seating options.
Most people were I smart/casual attire but as it's a tourist hotspot casual wear is also acceptable. Good variety of drinks & food at a (surprisingly) reasonable cost.
Several people told us to make sure we had a drink here whilst we were in Sydney so we made sure to go. We got there about 1630 and it was packed but we got some good seats after less than 5 mins. The view as the sun set was most impressive and the atmosphere was great with a bit of live music too.
Drinks were priced as you would expect for somewhere like this but I don't think they were a rip off. We got some chips too as the little one was hungry and I was pleasantly surprised by how good they were and also the generous size of the portion so I would recommend them to anyone a bit peckish.
This being Australia we also had a good chat with another couple sat next to us who were visiting from Melbourne and then the girls who got their seats who were local - that would never happen in London!
Sirloin steak was delicious, the potato salad was interesting with capers in it. Better than expected. Fish and chips and the prawn pizza also looked delicious. Next time I might order them.
Phenomenal view
Calamari - Some of the best *breaded* I ve ever had
Cauliflower - disappointing. Tasted like microwaved canned pasta sauce with plain grilled cauliflower.
What a view. Great beers. The only issue is the mist they spray outside wets the seats and my pants were drenched
It's packed but it's a wonderful spot. Great place to meet up with friends - the cocktails are excellent if you don't mind the surcharge for having one of the most iconic buildings on planet Earth looming over your shoulder . The chips are exceptional.
location! location! location!
nothing compare to the view of the harbour, the city and Opera house.
Come visit on a sunny day and you wont regret.
No comments on their food and wine
This is a breathtaking place. Must visit once in a lifetime.
Crispy chicken and fish and chips were delicious. Opera Pale ale. And opera house is a night view. The bottom line is that the Opera House comes at night and enjoys the night view with food from the Opera Bar and delicious pale ale.
Great bar. Great views. International crowd. Loved it
The food is good, but a little expensive. It's the location you're really paying for as the view is fantastic!
Location. Location. Location. This place has got it, and then some. Nestled beneath the opera house, with seating along the water to look back across Circular Quay and the bridge, Opera Bar could trade on its location alone. But it's actually a decent bar too, with a good range of beers wines and cocktails, efficient service and good food. There's also live music most nights out on the concourse, where the best seating can be hard to come by unless you get in early. A must-do for anyone visiting Sydney for the first time.
Amazing view!! I go there every often to have drinks with my mates. Drinks are reasonable priced (considering it is a tourist spot and its location).
Friendly staff and a great view, unfortunately you pay for that view. The drinks are very expensive and nothing spectacular.
Nice place to watch the crowds and admire the views
Always soooooo busy, and full of selfish people pushing in at the bar. Drinks are about as expensive as they get anywhere in Sydney. Fantastic view.
You can enjoy the beautiful see and harbor bridge thoroughout the year from here
Good place to take your friend visiting sydney for the first time. Can get crowded in the weekend evenings.
Absolutely supurb! Beautiful view! Fantastic service! Just awesome!
Fabulous bar, great views of the harbour bridge, the harbour & circular quay
Grab a seat, sip a drink, munch on a snack, chill and enjoy!
Great place to relax, have a drink with a fantastic view.
Beautiful view.
Tasty food.
We love opera bar! So many things to love! The view is spectacular on every occasion. When the weather is good you know the day will be amazing. Get there early to find a table. On a perfect day it gets full very fast. Outdoor dining is great to soak up that view and the sun. Open til late. You can sit and chat with drinks for hours. On weekends there s live music. What more could you want? Oh and the food is good too.
Great as always. Very efficient staff.. Good food and quick. Well done again. Not cheap but worth it
Amazing view I believe don t make a place deserve any start
If could put zero I would

My grandma would do better with her eyes closed
Wonderful
All very beautiful!
Best view of the Opera House and Harbor Bridge! Moderately expensive! Must visit for a tourist and local! Staff could have been a bit more polite but service was still pretty good!
Staffs are really polite, and food was really nice.
Wanna visit here again
Great bar with amazing views across to the Harbour Bridge. Very reasonably priced given it's location. Seagulls can be annoying but thankfully all food is served under a mesh basket to prevent them from eating off plates.
Great food, lovely staff. Ordering and paying via your phone is crazy easy. If you want to go on a Friday with more than 2 make sure you book though...
Great views and the dog seagull patrol has helped reduce the amount of seagulls.
Hopefully someone invites you to this place .. Paid money .. Pp ... Get pocket money ... Free lodging ... Even free ... Hehehe ..
Do you have it ????

Awesome drinks. Awesome bar staff. Great food. Fantastic location. Amazing views. Expensive but considering location it's pretty reasonable.
Awesome cocktails, reasonably priced and the most important an amazing view.
what a beautiful place, we enjoyed so much our time here and everyone is just friendly. we were a group of 7 people and had a great time and laugh. the weather was stunning as its winter there now.
An amazing place for food and drinks with harbour view. A wide selection of wine and cocktail. Just need to be caution of the birds.
The atmosphere is great. The price of the drink is also expensive and you can feel good!
Don't mind the Opera Bar. Great place to hook up with friends and have a bite and refreshments before a show. The food is good without being spectacular, service is prompt and friendly and prices are what you'd expect to pay in that part of town
What a shame. This place has long been a favourite for me but my last 2 visits since renovations have left me speechless. Service is horrendous, not a single staff member (waiters, barstaff, security) can crack a smile (thankfully misery is not contagious), the very limited menu is boring and both meals I have had have been disappointing - bland tasteless burgers (sliders, cheeseburger) and a rare steak that was cooked through (not even a little pink in the middle) but I was tersley told it was rare by the waitress, then the manager, then the chef (even though the medium rare steak my colleague was having was raw - but I was wrong - apparently!
I guess I'll still go on the occassional sunny Sunday afternoon for a drink overlooking the harbour but won't be eating there again or expect too much. Such a great location - such a shame.
Love the opera bar. Nice food, even cocktails I've EVER tried which was amazing.
Great vibe, gorgeous view of harbourbridge and sunset...
Perfect for afterwork drinks or chill on weekend.
