Great place to have a drink after work while waiting for dinner. The view of the Harbour Bridge is unbeatable.
Lovely view with our Sydney harbour bridge and opera house! Simple food but heaps of cocktails and drinks! A must try of you are visiting..... Make sure you bring a jacket too!
Service and staff absolutely POOR!
We hosted a baby celebration during the day in 40 + degrees heat. Found a nice spot with a fan, that was keeping 35 guests, including 2 pregnant women cool. Then... The manager insisted the fan was not for us but only for the bartender! Upon trying to reason with management, considering the unusual extreme heat, that it would be 1 person against 35 benefiting from keeping the fan faced towards the customers, we were basically told they didn't give a crap about us, and the fan was turned away. Furthermore then I was almost ejected from the venue for trying to plead my case! Absolutely disgusting! No regard for their customers whatsoever!
A nice chill out bar with great views of the harbour bridge. Drinks are expensive but you pay for the location and view. Beware of the seagulls if you're eating. A must for any visitor to Sydney.
If you want to relax and have one of the best views in Sydney then this is the place
Great - Saturday afternoon live music was fantastic.
It's just so cool. Not as touristy as you might think.
Nice views of harbour bridge and opera house. Large selection of spirits at the bar
Amazing views, friendly staff and good drinks make Opera Bar a place to visit if you just want to relax and enjoy the sights. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available with sections of the outdoor seating being heated so you can still enjoy the fresh air in the winter. Their seats are slightly uncomfortable however. Otherwise definitely a place to revisit.
Great venue with a good selection of beverages and a one of a kind view!
Great bar with awesome views. Head there for breakfast as it's nice and quiet before the tourists get there!
It's a wee bit expensive but there's a view and a really terrific e-ordering system that is fast and efficient. Friendly and attentive staff. Recommended if you're ok with paying extra for the location
Nice service amazing location and views. Prices are not too high.
The view of the Opera House at night is very nice, but it is very windy.
Great view amazing food. Watch the thieving seagulls..
Surprisingly quick service, good food and a nice drink, what more do you need?
Great place to have a drink while enjoying the iconic Sydney views!! Drinks are about $18, but they re amazing cocktails that you ll really enjoy!! It s full of foreigners working there too which is always fun!
Just loved this place... must try their prawns pizza..
Hard to get a table, but when you do the wait is well worth it! Amazing views, great wine selection and live music. Couldn t get a more iconic spot.
Great view and drinks. Good place for a get together.
Great view if you can manage to find a place outside but it gets very very crowded in the evenings!
If you're sitting outside on a sunny day bring a hat, chances are you'll have some sun on you. Drinks are expensive, don't get any mainstream beers.
Great spot to take tourists. It s great to grab a drink and watch the Harbour. Service is meh but I guess they don t need it since it s such a good location.
Decent beer tap selection, great location and views, but loads of tourists.
As always a great location, good service and good vibe
Tam was quite crowded and pretty. Quite a lot of Vietnamese people come here just to visit ...
Enjoyed evening: beautiful weather, great view across to Luna Park and Harbour Bridge, fireworks for the birthday girl, delicious (albeit expensive) food. The place has a great vibe.
Went there for a friend's birthday. We had a private area undercover. Amazing views. The bar had a good selection of drinks and the food was nice. Very touristy as you can imagine. Facilities were good.
Ideal location. Great fast, efficient friendly service. Delicious food. Live music entertainment. Superb meeting place for business or family or romantic. Indoor or outdoor seating. Huge assortment of drinks. Great coffee. Delightful experience.
Beautiful place to spend a colourful evening beside Opera and Harbour Bridge View Ambience is Fantastic!
Great place, fantastic view, drinks are good but $$$. How theyve adapted to covid was cash tho with the ordering off the phone and assigned seating. Saturday night was very busy but we only lined up for like 30 seconds (though I think we got lucky). Live music was cool, dj was super into it and guitarist was mad. Would recommend
Good but expensive which is understandable, calamari was underdone
Wuwu for the win. The man the guy the LEGEND. What a hire. Well played Opera bar, well played.
Awesome views. Maybe even the best city views in the world. Highly recommend the tiki tiki rum cocktail made with plantation pineapple rum...delicious ... some of the staff are a bit grumpy at night time and need to cheer up a bit but mostly ok... also keep an eye on your half a drink it may get swept up by an over zealous table clearer.... the cheese plate is a definite winner it has a cheddar a blue and a washed rind great combo and just what you need by the harbour...
Good location. Okay food. Poor customer service at the bar (Condescending tone)
Fantastic ambience and a decent bar. For a typical tourist like me, it couldn't be more Sydney.
Great location for various occasions, maybe more for a group of friends or colleagues after work or for functions. Crowded but still good vibes and bartenders are helpful. I even better recommend during the week rather than week ends...
This is one of my favorite places of all time in Sydney. It really is the perfect place to take someone to get the true feel of the city. The best is to go at dusk and stay through the night. The view of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House is magical, and then the city CBD skyline behind you is unbeatable. Most nights they have live music and people bustling to and fro... just an overall great atmosphere to have an awesome night out. And honestly, the prices are terribly expensive for the ambiance.
The view is just amazing. No service. Have to order and collect at the bar yourself
Great place to spend some time in the weekend or any other day! Nice view and good drinks. Haven't tried the food.
Absolutely stunning views and such a chill vibe. It's alittle on the pricey side but is expected considering the location, the staff were lovely and very friendly and the cute seagull dog was adorable, although you can sometimes struggle to get a seat because of how busy it can get but if you sit and wait by the water it normally isn't too long for a table to be free
An absolute must for visitors wanting to have a drink in the heart of the harbour. Great atmosphere
Yes, the place is iconic and the setting absolutely idyllic, but my story tells of the uselessness and apathy of their staff and management.
My partner and I took friends from overseas to visit and have a drink. We do this with all visitors who we want to show our beautiful city. It was Friday night, early evening. We only stayed for 45 minutes because we had small children to get home.
On the way home, I realised that I had left my workbag with laptop and other items underneath a table where we were sitting. Immediately, I pulled over and called the Opera Bar, reaching a woman named Kylie. When I asked Kylie to please go out and check the area where we sat, she claimed that they couldn t do that because they have "thousands" of tables and it would be nearly impossible to locate any items. (Eyes rolled at the thousands of tables comment!). I told her exactly where we were seated, as it was fairly easy to pinpoint and pleaded with her a bit more to go out and check on my bag. She refused and suggested that I rather leave my name and phone number so she could call me when it turned up. The nature of the items in my bag necessitated her and my immediate action and I tried to convey the seriousness, but Kylie refused to do anything measuring up to the urgency of the situation. I angrily called her lazy and hung up the phone, speeding back to the Opera Bar to tackle the matter myself.
When I returned to the table where we sat, I asked the ladies who sat in our same seats if they had seen the bag. They confirmed that they had seen it and said that some gentlemen who were previously at the other end of the table did look for some identification in the bag (there wasn t much except my work address). We had previously chatted with the gentlemen who were professional businessmen and not dodgy at all in our opinions. The bag wasn t there anymore, but the ladies assumed that the 3 gentlemen must have taken it to return to me or to the bar staff.
I then went to the front of the bar area where I met John, the bar manager. He immediately knew who I was from my phone call and berated me for hanging up on his assistant manager, Kylie. In fact, he started yelling and created quite a scene for the other patrons. Meanwhile, he instructed a member of the security team, Dragos, to assist me. Of course, the bag was not found then and nobody has seen it since.
Now I m not one to make accusations, but if Kylie had just had the sense of care and urgency to have a look in the first place, she might have found my bag in the place where I left it. John could have coached her better and seen my side of things before publicly reprimanding me. I agree that it was my fault for leaving the bag and my fault for losing my cool with Kylie on the phone, but I think they could have tried so much harder than they did. My only hopes are that the bag turns up at the Opera Bar or the 3 gentlemen did the right thing and are looking for me now. I have little hope for the former. Even if they did I have it, I doubt they d give it back to me.
Slightly overcooked my steak, but so incredibly impressed with the staff - handled my concern with the meal so well.
Skip some of the other overpriced, poorly reviewed options around the Quay - and go here. Very reasonably priced, impressive service - just do it.
Very bad service, and brutally expensive for the service and quality
Great experience have missed coming to the opera bar.
Very glad the bar has opened again.
Missed the vibe throughout COVID -!9
Really enjoyed the food and amazing cocktails
The food is amazing! The service is good it might get really busy but it s possible to find places to seat once people normally go for a drink and photos!
Great for watching the passing foot traffic over a drink and nibbles. Awesome Views.
Very iconic. Service is good. Plenty of security. Parking expensive, best to travel on public transport
Always a great place for a drink with old friends with a stunning view of the bridge.
Relaxing, if you can get a table. Very touristy, but great views of the opera and Sydney harbor bridge. Live music too.
Food was good and arrived quickly even though they were busy. Prices were slightly high, but that's what happens when you're paying for the view. Would have enjoyed some umbrellas for shade on a warm, sunny day.
Pretty good overall, service was a bit hit and miss.
I expected to be completely broke after getting a couple drinks here but the prices are quite nice. And of course, who wouldn't want to sit here with such a view!
Great spot for a few drinks and a bite to eat. The views from here are really excellent (moreso from some tables than others). The new order from your table through a phone app was a nice surprise, made it so much easier than queuing at the sometimes crowded bar.
A unique experience to dine while enjoying the view of the Sydney harbour bridge and opera house
Good vibe. Good view. The scotch fillet was too chewy.
Great place to get a glass of wine and watch the sights! Menu is very expensive though so we just had the drinks! The coffee here was surprisingly good considering it's a bar.
The prosciutto pizza is a must try in this joint, highly recommended!!!
Opera Bar was quite a pretty sight while we walked past it to go to Sydney Opera House. There were a lot of people basking under the sun with some beer. It was very sunny but very windy as well. What a perfect weather combination having all the beautiful architectures surrounding us! Even the birds know how to suntan themselves!
