This place is awesome and open for delivery! I appreciated the staff calling me directly when they were out of a few items and wanted to chat through replacement options.
Their pinsas are veggies are delicious!
Nice little Italian restaurant with a particularly well-stocked wine list, the setting and waiters are friendly and the food is delicious. What to spend a nice evening.
Italian restaurant, of an Italian where he really eats like in Italy. No need to add anything else.
Came in expecting pizza, but got pinseria. Blown away by how good it all was. Everything from the appetizers to the pinseria itself was perfect. Service was great, too. Came in as a large party, but everything came out without much delay. Definitely need to come back and try all the pinseria variations
Love this place! The location is less than ideal but the food, service, and atmosphere are outstanding. The pinsa is so delicious - and be sure to save room for the dessert pinsa as well!
The ingredients are really high in terms of quality. The burrata cheese is imported from Puglia where produces the best Burrata I heard. The pizza dough, texture, crunchiness truly remind me of what I had in Rome pinsere! Simple, delicious, down-to-earth, but great quality are what you can expect from this place. Surrounded by Napoli Pizzeria, NY Pizzeria, the Roman style Pizzeria is just valuable and unique.
Perfect pizza crust! Just the right amount of crispy and soft.
Shady surroundings but the moment you step inside your experience changes totally and you feel so good to eat amazing food and good service.
The pinsa here is really tasty, but I find it to be a bit overpriced at ~$20 per personal pizza.
Flavor profiles were ok, but the dough/crust was the clear star of the dish
Great service and fantastic food. Delicious buratta and pizzas.
We had a Pinsa with eggplant and an arugula salad, both were great. Also recommended if you like Italian wine because they offer a broad range of options. Price is a bit high but fair given the quality and the decor. Place was completely full so make sure you go with a reservation. This place is also small and can get very loud when full so be prepared, it's not a quite place to chat and have some wine.
Delicious pizza and wine I think our favorite was the broccolini and sausage
Best pizza I have ever had. Incredible experience, great vibe, am already thinking of when I can visit again.
Much too noisy and the pizzas are not rich enough. Otherwise the products are of quality.
Out of the way and authentic. The margherita and pigneto pinsas are amazing. It's a bug mistake to skip the desert pinsa with Nutella and pistachio. This is perfect with their expresso con panna.
Best American restaurant I've been yet, real Italian owners and cuisine
Most stylish pizzeria i've ever been to, with gorgeous old school decorations and pizza to satisfy any fan of that dish.
Was quite surprised with the little details, like towels instead of napkins, olive oil and pepper mill served aside and water brought in bottles, so you don't have to ask for refills. Spectacular experience, overall.
Everything perfect, from the cheeses to the porchetta, even if cut too thin and served cold, but with the pinza they brought the little thumb up again, nice the place and friendly the personal vote 9 !!
Wonderful pizza, drinks, and ambiance just a short walk from the Golden Gate Theater! The pizza crust is amazing! The beer and especially the wine selection is outstanding! It's a great restaurant to go before or after a show!
Delicious pinsa and first choice raw materials ... excellent and prepared staff ... everything perfect but ... the bill ... a little too "ambitious" ... recommended only if you have money to spend
Great food and service. Probably the best pizza I have had outside of Italy. We had 9 people in our group and they were very helpful in showing us how we could share a wide variety of dishes so we could all experience many of their specialties.
Pizza, yeah, super delicious. i give this spot a thumbs up. looking forward to returning with my coworkers. bring your hunger - portions are filling.
This was a truly exceptional place. Food was great. I didn't even want to spoil it by taking pictures. Our waiter was excellent. He showed up when needed without budding in and interrupting our conversation.
Excellent scene for Pizza. i give this spot two thumbs up. bring your appetite because portions are generous. feeling here is similar to a place in columbus i liked.
Had the salmon panini, it was delicious! Service was quick at the end of lunch hour. Will definitely be back to try the pinsas!
Last 30 minutes open and we were welcomed as if we We're the first of the day - we had 5 pizzas and shared them all - asked for surprise and got fantastic - the arugula on the Diabolic was so awesome !
Very very low salt that allows for the fantastic flavors of The toppings through - and the sooo exceptional this crust. !
third time in two weeks. watched the care in the salad station and pinsa station both times. fantastic spot.
A truly mixed bag - the food was slightly disappointing but the ambiance and service were fantastic.
The pinsas all sounded good but in execution there was too much crust and not enough seasoning or flavor. Had I waited for the table I would have been quite disappointed. The bartenders were very friendly and gave great recommendations on both food and wine. The spot itself is cozy and feels very European. I wish I had enjoyed it more.
Awesome experience at Montesacro. The pinsas are a unique dish very similar to pizza.
Great food, horrible service. Some staff are so uptight and arrogant, they dont respect customers nor do they know how to plan their work. We were asked to move our seats three times, interrupted several times. One of the staff who seemed to be the manager was even saying "I dont mind you canceling your order and leaving". Never been to a restaurant that doesnt understand what customer service means.
This is one of my favorite places to go for a small plates. Great ambiance and the food never disappoints! Highly recommended!! Thanks for the food :)
Great pizza, great wine. Different from your typical pizza
Delicious pizzas and cured meats. Casual feel. Good for smaller parties to share.
Pinsa was good, a nice alternative to pizza. Service likewise good.
Went Wednesday 7pm with reservations. Crowded. Sidewalk covered with panhandlers. Food excellent. Great starters great pizza great dessert. Help friendly and knowledgeable. Bit pricey
The food was delicious! Hidden gem of a restaurant. Be careful outside at night though. The area can be shady at times.
My fav place for tasty pizza. the service here is great.
This eatery is one of the most authentic Italian pizzerua I've ever been to outside of Naples. And I'm a proud ardent officianato of the pizza.
Very rude servant who discriminate among the customers.
The best pizza we had in a while. Really tasty! The service could not be better, we felt really welcome!
I actually had a hankering for spaghetti and meatballs but I found this pinceria nearby and it was a winner! Great variety of insalate and pinca Romana, with a cozy casual deli atmosphere, good jazz and friendly service. The pinca dough was divine!
Great place. Definitely Visit. quite different tastes that I suggest you don't miss
Things are a bit too salty, others are pretty good. There is a nostalgic atmosphere in the store. The clerk is very Defu Rende.
Great rustic Italian food. I have tried several items here and they were all delicious. Kind of a rough neighborhood, but well worth a visit.
I had high hopes, but the location set a very bad tone. To my surprise this restaurant is on a derelict street with a homeless situation. Once inside and seated the smell of chlorine bleach was overwhelming. Not sure how one could get their nose into fine food or wine with such a competing smell. While it is great that this restaurant cleans, they need to also consider ventilation and timing for cleaning. We had to leave and quickly find another restaurant.
This place is phenomenal and definitely recommended.
Let me first start by making clear that this is not a pizzeria but a pinseria. The difference is in the dough, where pinsa uses more water and less salt creating a lighter and airier crust.
It was absolutely delicious, and the service here was amazing and super friendly.
Gets busy in this place though, make sure you make your reservation on time!
The ambiance was really quaint and loveable. I ordered a margherita "pinsa". It looked like a pizza but the dough was not something I cared for. The staff was understanding and made it right it just was not what I was looking for. Staff gets an A for handling it and the food was not to my tastes.
Delicious food, knowledgeable staff and unique decor.
So good the crust was amazing and it so so nice inside. Such a contrast to outside. The service was also very attentive.
A wide variety of experimental pizzas. Slightly pretentious, but the quality of the food more than makes up for it.
I'm a true Italian and I can assure you that this is one of the best pizzas in SF
Everything about this restaurant is spectacular. A must visit for any foodie
Good food, but pricey for pizza. Horrible neighborhood at night. Glad we went, but once may be enough.
great selection of wines and great variety of pizzas. friendly staff and cozy environment.
Best (only?) Roman style pizza in SF. Really good though, Maranella, Casal Bertone, and for something unusual Trullo.
It's interesting to try but menu is limited and hard to understand
This place is A M A Z I N G. There are literally no words to describe how freaking awesome this place is. You HAVE to come eat here!!
Simply delicious pizza. Would love to have more vegan options!
Small and quaint. It's a different style then your conventional pizza. More like wood fire. I really, really wanted to love the food. It came out burnt with barely any sauce. It had maybe five pieces of basil. It could've been an off night for the chef on that particular pizza: margarita. It just wasn't our cup of tea.
This is an excellent hidden gem. The pizza crust is the closest to Italy I've come across
If you don't mind the problems that come with Stevenson St. (You will see people shooting up) it's really an awesome pizza place.
Very enjoyable. Really well executed. A bit of Italy in the middle of the very tough 6th Street corridor
First pizzeria in San Francisco, and the best place to eat the original Italian pizza. Affordable prices and amazing ambient.
Delicious! The serving sizes were good for the price, and the crust was fantastic. I preferred the red sauce margherita pizza over the white, mushroom pizza, but that's more a testament to how delicious the red sauce was. Definitely recommend this spot, don't let the location fool you!
A great new addition to SF. A pretty small restaurant with great food and an amazing atmosphere. As authentic as it gets.
Great food and the hostess and staff were extremely accommodating.
Great food. Small place. I wouldn't recommend showing up without a reservation.
An awesome find. Non-descript on the outside but relaxing and truly authentic ambiance. Food is amazing and the staff is friendly and efficient.
Some of the best pizza I ve ever had. Restaurant is literally (and figuratively) constructed around the massive brick oven where they cook the pinsa
Wonderful food, truly Italian! Photos speak for themselves.
Might be my favorite pizza in San Francisco. The texture and crispness if the Roman style dough with a mixture of different flours is amazing. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming as well. The only thing I would say is the neighborhood is a bit sketchy but it's worth the trip.
First dinner out after 4 months. We couldn't choose a better place. Everything was really good and the staff has been super nice. Pinsa is very light and digestible compared to normal pizza! Loved it
Ive been in a couple in town pizza places, this is by far/now best pinsa ever had , thank you
