We had been looking for a BMW and evaluating different models for a few months with various dealers in the area. We also happened to contact Open Road BMW in Edison and spoke with Mr Nitin Kalamdani. Since the first time we contacted the dealership intil we ended up buying a BMW 750 LXi recently, we received excellent service from Nitin. He was in regular touch with us for a few months over email and phone, answering our questions, advising us of the different options available, sales events in progress, etc. He seems very experienced in this industry and we would highly recommend him to anybody, He's really good at doing his job as a sales person. He is very patient and took the time to answer all our questions. He spent a lot of time going over the features of the car after we purchased it and continues to answer our questions over phone whenever we need to check something with him. We would rate a 10 over 10 for his service. We are very happy with our BMW 750 LXi and the excellent service we recieved from Nitin and Open Road BMW, Edison.
I went in for a second time for service this past week; this is after they 'forgot' to fix few things the car was in the week prior. Apart from the rude and unethical staff; they is no care given to customers. We waited 45 minutes to pick our loaner; after having an appointment and waiting 20 minutes just to have a service rep come to us to take the car in. During pick-up, the front desk lady was more interested in putting in her hours than in letting me know if my car was ready, being worked upon or ready to go. The same complaints were shared with BMW on my previous visit but it seems BMW has lowered its customer service quality standards. Front desk calls the mechanics at the back to tell the customer where their car is - of course the mechanic is not aware of being courteous and was rude to both me & my wife. Wifey will never go back and I may be looking for an Audi when my lease is up. BMW needs to act up or loose some of it's loyal customers.

I was extremely pleased with my experience at Open Road BMW. I was a bit hesitant to come in alone ,as a female, because I am used to salespeople taking advantage of my perceived ignorance. However, I sat with David Lutz and he treated me with respect and took the time to explain things to me. I plan to tell all of my family and friends to visit with David. He really made me confident in my decision to purchase.
I stopped by BMW Edison to have a look at BMW 540 X drive. I met with Nitin who went over all the details of the car thoroughly, answered many questions patiently, worked with me on various options to lease or buy the car, sent a great associate with us for a test drive. Because of his thoroughness, patience, knowledge, personality I ended up leasing the BMW 540 X drive. I was not ready to buy the car that day but Nitin s professionalism and patience made me make the call and get the car the same day. Let me share my experience with open road and bmw in general. Every 700 miles or so my 750i 2011 required two quarts of oil, I asked open road no less than three times why is would this happen, they assured me it s normal just put oil in not to worry. Then I noticed more and more over time white smoke from the tail pipe especially after a car wash. Took my car to open road for more than five years I noticed service became progressively worse, but what do they care I am just one person in a sea of persons. Took the car in for back brakes for example, they gave the car back to me with a strut failure which I noticed as I pick up the car not leaving the open road property they would not agree they created the issue even though I had no such problem when it came in and they were working in that area for the brake job. I thought wow this is outrageous plus they knew and said nothing as if they were hoping I would drive off with the problem, I had to pay to have this fixed over one thousand! But back to the smoke from the tail pipe, I no longer trusted open road over time so I took the car to Bloomfield bmw, they looked and said I need a new engine. I said you must be kidding. They said the engine has a known problem which my friends at open road never thought they should have told me about, but they instead would just keep milking me for all sort of minor work, put oil in and buy new tires or something. So I had to get rid of the car. I thought would I buy another bmw, and have to deal with open road service again? For this reason, I said heck no and I would not recommend bmw or open road any longer. Now I drive an Audi A8 thanks to bmw, I will never buy another BMW. Audi service dept is without the con games bmw plays with its customers. Good luck to you with these fokes, they will ride you like they did me. And I have all the paper work to prove what I said open road should be a darn closed road with a detour sign to Audi. I am angry and disappointed with how I was treated by this company because I make the mistake of buying a BMW. Never again!

Open Road BMW service is the WORST! My husband and I own 4 BMW s and two Porsches. We ve been coming here for years. It was better ran when Bob and Allison was around. They hire the rudest ladies ever to answer the phones! One of them is Jessica! She kept transferring me to sales when all I wanted to know if my car was ready from service and to get two tires replacement. I ask if they had the tires in stock. Her response was listen lady not my job isn t to go check, transferring to parts. No answer. I call back and she answers the phone don t you have something else better to do. I m planning my daughter s birthday which is more important than your car and transferred me to sales. I was so upset. I went in to get my car , I ask for the GM s name to report Jessica and at the pick up area four receptionist (3 girls and 1 Guy) laugh said Good luck he loves her and she doesn t get in trouble for anything/ she doesn t even work After hearing that I told my husband we will never go to ANY OPEN ROAD dealers. Let alone my advisor Stanley was clueless! Disgusted to know that it was a great dealership before and now it s full of nasty, rude and unprofessional people. Craig Hacker was called by my husband. NO Call back!! Manhattan BMW will be picking up and dropping off all my cars from now on and I will continue to get my BMW s from them !

I have to say this is my first time writing a review for anything, so this is huge to me... I have to tell you about Open Road BMW of Edison... It was one of the best experiences dealing with their service department!! I purchased my 2012 X3 at a totally different dealership at the end of December 2014. I noticed a day or two after I purchased it that the windshield fluid continued to indicate it was low after I filled it up twice. I notified the dealer I purchased the vehicle from and they didn't even respond back to me. Well I took my truck to Open Road BMW of Edison because of their reviews I saw on Google. Note, I have a BMW dealership right down the road from my job (with no so good reviews) and decided to go out of my way to Open Road of BMW. And I truly made the right choice. When I took my car in, Open Road notified me that some sort of animal must have gotten inside and chewed through the wire on the windshield washer hose. And of course this is not covered under any of the warranties I have. So at this point I am starting to panic because I don t feel I should pay for this since this was an issue before I purchased the vehicle and the original dealership basically ignored me.
Well let me tell you about my service adviser Jimmy Hernandez. When I got off the phone with him to figure out what I was going to do and how to approach the other dealership with the documentation to see how to resolve this issue. Jimmy Hernandez. called me back and said don t worry about it they will handle it. I was almost in tears. I did not expect that response. That was my first visit to Open Road of Edison and they will be servicing my truck from now on. They went above and beyond the call of duty as a service department. I can see why they have such great reviews. I don t mind going out of the way to get great service. Thanks you so much Open Road of BMW. I can t tell you how much your kindness meant to me!! Keep up the great work as a service dept. Oh yeah, I have to also mention everyone there working in the service dept. was pleasant and nice and just very welcoming. This place only judges you by your looks! I pulled up in an old Ford with friends yesterday and was pointed out of the dealership!! Although we were dressed casual little did the guy know that I wanted to purchase a BMW M4, This is unacceptable how you treat your customers!! As we left I pointed my American Express Centurion and drove off. At least Mercedes Benz treated us better.

The most recent work has been performed by technician George Ananiadis. Simply put, Mr. Ananiadis is a master at his craft. In my view, he personifies the definition of a master technician in every respect.
He was very attentive, explaining and walking me through every detail and issue pertaining to the overall fitness and road worthiness of my vehicle.

Left computer parts in the trunk of a loaner car, someone stole them.
I insisted multiple times that I had a coolant leak, they said I didn't and claimed to have checked twice. The other BMW that I had ended up taking my car to, found the leak in exactly 12 minutes according to the technician.
I was told by the lady on the phone that my peeling buttons were not covered under warranty. It turns out that not only the peeling buttons, but a total of $3000 worth of parts and labor, were all covered under warranty.
It's been a couple of months now so I feel like I am forgetting something, but that's more than enough for me. I will never return to this BMW ever again, under any circumstances. Close this place down.
My husband I went to numerous dealerships before we stepped into BMW Open Road Edison. Everyone was so nice and so patient. We went to them a few times in the midst of deciding which car to proceed with, and every time they were so kind and gave us their full undivided attention laying out the different options we could proceed with. I had conducted a substantial amount of research online prior to walking into BMW Edison. As such, I knew the exact vehicle that I wanted and the amount that I was willing to spend. As soon as I walked into BMW Edison, I was greeted by, who was soon to be my salesperson, Roosevelt. He was a true gentleman. I expressed to him right away that I was serious about making a purchase and did not want to waste his time or even my own. Soon thereafter, Roosevelt proceeded to conduct a truly amazing car buying experience. Roosevelt was meticulously detailed and thorough; as I was being upfront and honest I knew I was getting the same courtesy back. By the end of the test drive it seemed as if I was simply shopping for vehicles with a friend rather than a salesperson. Roosevelt made the entire car buying experience enjoyable.
My experience with BMW Edison was truly fantastic. Even beyond the fantastic sales experience, I was blown away by how great my experience was with my business manager, Thomas, who helped work out the finances and finalizing everything. While the initial discussion was mostly about watches, Thomas was able to put me at ease discussing the breakdown of my lease arrangement and discussed the merits of any additional vehicle protection. Thomas was honest and a pleasure to work with.
In the end, I know I walked away with the perfect vehicle within the budget I had initially hoped for. Could I have gotten that deal elsewhere? Perhaps, but between the large variety of vehicles, the beautiful showroom, and the truly fantastic employees specifically Roosevelt and Thomas, I know I will be going back to BMW Edison for any future purchases

Before I went to BMW of Edison, I already shopped around so I had an idea about the car I wanted to buy such as the color, features and especially the pricing. I was not expecting much when I went to Edison but to my amazement, I was able to negotiate the price I was asking, thanks to Nitin who assisted me professionally and in a straightforward manner. I was completely satisfied so was my wife.

I've had my car serviced here a few times. Dreadful experiences. Looooong wait times to even talk to someone. I'm talking 2+ hour visits just to drop the car off for pre-scheduled service.
To make matters even worse, it seems like every time they fix one thing on my car, they break something else. I've had sensors destroyed, my hood release broken, etc.
Terrible Dealership. Scheduled an appointment and still had to wait two hours to be seen. What s the point of scheduling an appointment if your car isn t going to be seen for two hours later and they are just going to make you sit there and wait.
Had an appointment at 9 am this morning with a loaner scheduled, i called the night before to make sure i can come at 8 am instead and they that works, i get there at 745 am as i need to get to work at 830 am, no one helps me until 810 and then i spoke to the advisor Jimmy Hernandez and he tells me will call you when the car is done, i said ok where is my scheduled loaner and he goes we have to much work in the shop and no loaners available, i tell him how i am suppose to get to work and he tells me another appointment which is in about two weeks from now, he shows no care as it was not his problem, he goes you can speak with the manager Jim Crew as he does not want to be there.
I had my car serviced at Open Road. John Ladany, my service adviser, is great! He was very welcoming and knows what he is talking about.
I felt confident leaving my car with him and that I would get great service. Definitely recommend him and Open Road to others.
5/15/17 10:45am, the receptionist working is very rude. I have never visited this location and now I wouldn't bother. I called to get a price on replacemt of a low beam HID light, she told me this was the service department and didn't know the price which I found strange then transferred me to parts, no one answered so it bounced back to her obviously she wasn't service. She put me on hold rudely 2x then I demanded to speak with service, she told me just to bring the car in and have it done and whatever the price is is what it is. I told her I wanted to know what it cost since I had no idea, rudely put me on hold without even asking me to hold, came back with a price. $500, never asked what car, Year or model. Obviously wanted to rush me off. Also requested for call back at their convince and she told me they were busy. Definitely not wasting my time here. Great customer service goes a long way. To think I was going to have my brakes pads replaced, fuel sensor & hid and possibly lease my next car there this summer.

I had a called for a service appointment and spoke to the manager april Quist - I told her dissatisfied I've been with the dealership- she asked me for a chance to make the experience easy and seemless - she met me at the desk walked me over introduce me to Jim Crowe and my service advisor Chris vender pulled my chair out got me shuttled back to my office - all with in an hour - Jean at the desk was also pleasant - about time EDISON stepped up their customer service game - I'll be in next month to buy my daughter her first car.
Solid. Their sales staff (I dealt with Bryan) is extremely knowledgeable and eager to help. He was genuinely excited and interested in the cars he was selling, which I think is a must when buying a luxury car.

The staff is very friendly and will work well with you. Sales is very pressure free and make you feel comfortable. The limy only complaint is that you should expect to wait 2 hours for service (oil changes etc.) so plan accordingly.

Drove an hour from Nassau County NY. I went in to service my 2015 435xi Gran Coupe for an oil change. The staff was fast, professional and polite. They gave me a free loaner car for a few hours. No hassles, no problems. Beautiful dealership. My car was ready earlier than estimated. I returned the loaner no problem. They gave me an oil change, new filter and new wipers all included in the bmw ultimate service package. The drive from NY is worth it, I would definitely come here next for service and highly recommend Open Road BMW.

My experience with the new car dealership has been a very mixed bag. I cannot compliment the sales team enough, and the service advisors are generally professional and helpful. The showroom is great, and there s bagels and coffee if you are waiting for service. The gentleman who drives the shuttle deserves a special shoutout...he s friendly, talkative, and is good at remembering his customers.
I am amending my previous review where I criticized the service management 3 months ago. They have a new service manager, Jake, and he is attentive, personable, and worked diligently to get a problem I've been having fixed. Under his leadership the service department has improved tremendously.
The biggest complaint I have is that it's difficult to get in touch with someone. Open Road BMW needs more people. They are one of the largest BMW dealerships in America and operate so lean that it gives the impression that they are chronically short-staffed.
The people here are doing their best with the resources they have and they mean well, but the business is clearly operating with too few employees to address all the needs of their customers.

AMAZING AND EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE with BRANDON MILLMAN. THE BEST EVER!!! I have leased many vehicles before at other dealerships and have never been treated as nice as Brian treated us. His attention to detail throughout the entire transaction was amazing. From the minute we started chatting with him till when my car arrived in Miami was phenomenal. His knowledge and ability to answer all our questions was great. Leasing a vehicle without seeing it can be a bit intense but he made us feel secure and confident that we were making the right decision. Out of all luxury car dealers I have ever dealt with - Open Road BMW is the worst. Terrible, just terrible. They do not value their clients right, they do not respect them and treat them accordingly. Be careful with their service department - you can schedule your service appointment with loaner car (you would have to schedule 3 weeks in advance) and when you come to them and they take your car for service, they may suddenly announce, that you scheduled a drop off appointment and no loaners are available for you. Later they may promise to pick up your car next day from your location, and never call back. That kind of customer service they have. BTW, did you know that their documentation fee when you buy or lease a car from them is $495? No, not a typo - $495! They even printed it in bold huge letters on their sales contract...

Called a couple times this week to order a rear license plate bracket, the parts department person I spoke to put me on hold every time I called and never came back on the line. When I was finally able to speak to someone I expressed my discontent to which the gentleman simply replied "I don't believe you"

Brandon Millman found my dream car! I looked at various models, test drove several, and concluded I now have my dream car. Brandon was very knowledgeable on the models and options available, including the inventory. Everything with the paperwork perfectly; I didn't have to go spend time with several different people. One stop shop. Best car buying experience. Clean dealership. He even made sure the detail was spotless.
I walk into the service department because I need an oil change as I walk in I see the gentleman that helped me last time on the phone so I waited for him. As I'm standing there another writerr comes by walks right by me sits down next to me gets on his phone and begins to text without speaking saying hello or do you need any help NOTHING .. that's not it then my writer hangs up doesn't even know who I am mind you he just put an engine in my car eight months ago tells me to sit in the lounge and someone will help sign me in with my paperwork in about 15 minutes... ... on my way to Princeton!!
One more food for thought the type a customer I am I called last week to do this work and the gentleman that I was with prior was on vacation so I waited for him... how crazy is that ... I feel better now that I didn't explode in there and embarrass myself

I went to BMW of Edison on a Wednesday just to look and do a test drive and by Friday Praise GOD I left the dealership with my very own BMW.
