We made a reservation the night before our stay due to some last minute travel plans. The hotel was super nice and drinks at the bar were spectacular! They were miles above in terms of service compared to the surrounding establishments. Flying iguana being the other exception. I was a little disappointed when arrived at 330pm and was told that our room was not ready with a guaranteed 3pm check in. No problem, we did not come to the beach to stay in the hotel room ;) The front desk agent kindly took my luggage and I provided my phone number. We returned a couple hours later to check on the stauts of our room. We had received no phone call from the agent at this point. The agent stepped away to "check on the room" which was concerning. She came back with the luggage and gave us our room keys. I did however watch as at least one other group was denied availability to their room, at 530pm, which makes me wonder when exactly I was going to receive a phone call and who was being serviced and in what order. I would certainly stay again and recommend the hotel to my colleagues but if the room is not ready when promised perhaps a free drink or movie would have been nice...On the other hand if I needed to shower, change and prepare for dinner plans in my room then I most certainly would have been inconvenienced.

WE ARE CERTAIN TO RETURN! One Ocean Resort managed to pamper me while offering plenty of amenities and features for my child that we both had an amazing Spring Break vacation! Yes, the hotel is gorgeous, is so conveniently on beautiful Atlantic Beach, and offers services not to be found elsewhere; however, the true ingredient to their success must be their staff! Everyone proved most courteous, capable, professional and friendly -- regardless of their role. I highly recommend selecting a room with a balcony in order to take in the sights and smells of the surf while watching truly majestic sunrises each morning!

Beautiful hotel with a very upscale feel however I felt like there was some nickel and diming going on. The $30 mandatory valet parked my car 15 feet away and the $30 One Touch feat included many services or items that I otherwise wouldn't ask for

Loved staying here for the night after our wedding, they provided many special touches like champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, and rose petals! Comfy beds, excellent staff. Only downside is lots of light pollution in the room from hallway lights, phone, microwave and TV light even when off.

They are using Covid as an excuse to not offer any service or comfort. Still charging full price and a resort fee for nothing. After staying here several times in the past and telling many friends and family this was the place to stay in the area, I will do everything I can to make sure people avoid this hotel from here on out.

Well, I guess this resorts thinks too highly of themselves... and they don't need guest.
I twittered, Facebook, Instagram them for weeks and never got a reply until 3 weeks later on Facebook but still, nothing on the others. I was given a person to email and I did, but another person (Katie) replied back to me and she was rude and snobby. I inquired to book the Mani pedi special that they have, they have specials each month, and I got a very rude and abrupt reply stating
Unfortunately we are not able to accommodate your request for a mani/pedi tomorrow at The Spa at One Ocean. I am sorry we weren t able to work something out.
There's no excuse why ...no offer of another day or may I help you with something else .... nothing. They just don't want my business.
I travel all around, always in search of a nice spa, in a great place, to get my nails done and so far I'm still in search for this area.
The rooms looked really pretty and I wanted to come stay a night or two and enjoy all the amenities of their spa so I could find me a nice place that I can travel to, regularly, and get services but unfortunately these people obviously do not want guest. Maybe they're only for the rich and famous. Maybe they're only for their types of people. I don't know but they did not even give me a chance so I guess I will delete them from my places to try...
Don't waste your time because no one's going to reply to you, for the most part, and if they do they're just going to be rude!!

Very Poor Communication - The website offers "BOOK NOW," yet when you try to book you are asked to call. When we called, and asked to book service, we were told there were no men allowed at the spa while they undergo renovations. Only women because, as I was told, "our business is mostly women." Not only does this sound weird, and exclusionary, there is no mention of this on the website. Perhaps update your website if this kind of thing is happening. I was about to drop almost $500 on a massage, and now I will never, ever come back.

Beautiful, excellent staff, right off the water! The room was clean (and the staff cleaned it multiple times during our stay of 2 nights). Snacks/drinks in the room are free. Onetouch could be used to order ice, coffee, room cleaning, etc. We had a wonderful stay. I definitely recommend this place to all. I will be returning in the near future! Only drawback is parking ~$30/day but there are free parking spots close by.

All around excellent. My only complaints are (1) the elevator situation is bad because the elevators don't go to the ground floor and they are horribly slow; there should be 3 of them & (2) bathrooms are small gives how large the rooms are.

My husband and I were blown away by our stay at One Ocean Hotel. This hotel is the gem of the beaches, the service by the staff was better than many of the well known luxury hotels we have stayed in over the last few months. We highly recommend this property, rest assured you will love your stay.

My fiance and I stayed in a corner room #305, with a balcony, facing the ocean. We stayed in that room for 3 days for his birthday. That room was NEARLY perfect, pristine, super clean, private, QUIET, and roomy...though the bathroom could've been bigger! We then moved to another room for a 4th day, bc he didn't want to leave lol. The 2nd room was a hallway room, with balcony and clear ocean views. HOWEVER the 2nd room, #602, was TERRIBLE! The room was soooo tiny, the headboard was FILTHY, as was the chaise lounge, the balcony was literally standing room only, we could hear EVERYTHING going on outside of our room, to the point that we could hear other people's televisions! The hallway room is NOT worth the money they charge, we could've stayed somewhere nicer, newer, cleaner and quieter, for less money! It's worth the money if you stay in a corner room. But they still waaaaay overcharge! It was a nice staycation, but we most likely will not be going back. The following photos are of the CORNER ROOM #305.... not the tiny, dirty hallway room #602....

I had the chance to stay at the One Ocean Resort and Spa for a couple of nights during a recent business trip. Located along the Neptune/Atlantic Beach (Jacksonville Beaches) Atlantic waterfront, the hotel is a near ideal vacation get away and luxury oasis ready to help you relax. Valet parking greets guests (yes there's an overnight charge; mine was $17/night) followed by a marble-laden reception area that is sophisticated, modern, yet subtly suggests timeless luxury.
The resort has a slightly confusing layout with no direct ground-floor to hotel room floor elevators; instead, one goes from the front-desk and restaurant area to a secondary floor via a beautiful spiral staircase or an elevator. This secondary floor hosts the Forbes-rated spa and a main bank of elevators. Curious layout, but easy to navigate once figured out.
I stayed in a standard, non-oceanfront facing, king room. It proved spacious, was very clean, had elegant furnishings, and above all a comfortable bed. I especially appreciated the abundant pillows - sometimes hotels skimp on these with king rooms. Also appreciated was a fantastic mini-fridge stocked with water and other non-alcoholic beverages and a snack bar - all of which was complimentary. Inside the closet, two plush bathrobes were at the ready.
The bathroom was, as other reviews note, on the smaller side. For one person in there at a time, it works fine. If someone will need a bathroom for an extended period, though, this could be an issue. Otherwise, the bathroom was design-inspired with a modern sink and fixtures, abundant marble, and an aqua-glass counter top; all nice touches that contributed to a spa-like feel.
If staying here, be sure to budget for and plan to indulge in some of the on-site amenities. I didn't have time to enjoy the spa, but am sure it is top-notch. The on-site Azurea restaurant bar was a great night spot; they feature a great selection of brews, wines, and cocktails to include many local craft brews at typical price ($6-ish). In particular, I enjoyed one evening where I sampled various rose wines with my bartender, Sarah, offering samples and excellent conversation. The staff here were always cheerful and attentive. The late night snack options may as well be meals, I should note. I opted for the artisanal cheese platter featuring a bevy of selections from across Europe, fresh fruit, honeycomb, warm baguette, and a delightful chutney. I couldn't quite finish it; for $14 it was a bargain (esp. if you've seen the price of a decent block of cheese lately). Enjoying such delightful food and drink while overlooking the moon-lit Atlantic is a splendid joy, I should add.
For conferences or other events, the resort's space is flexible and works well. There's a large covered patio area with an adjacent firepit and beach views; at least five conference rooms that could be revamped to various configurations (three sharing floating walls). The one caveat I note with the conference and lobby space is that it was really cold - even people who had come down from the Mid-West found it frigid.
Let me conclude my lengthy review noting that all of the staff I encountered here were courteous, bright, and most accommodating. I applaud their efforts and appreciate their hard-work. For a few days, I felt as though I were living a Downton Abbey lifestyle without spending a British Nobility's worth of money. If I should happen to return to the Jacksonville area for a vacation or otherwise, One Ocean Resort and Spa will be the first place I consider staying.

My husband and I decided to stay here for the first time for our Anniversary. Unfortunately we can not recommended this Resort to our friends and will not return. We were welcomed by friendly staff and escorted to our room that's the only positive thing that I can say. For the most part our room was clean but our head board was just nasty. The bed didn't even have a fitted sheet. So every time you moved it moved with you. To stay and pay the price of this Resort you would expect a fitted sheet. ( I have pictures of head board and sheets) After returning from dinner around 9:30 when we got off the elevator that opened to the lobby stairs there were 2 girl's wasted laying on the steps (lack of security). At 1:45. A.M. we had to evacuate the hotel. After going down 6 floor of stairs and waiting a few minutes outside we were told that we could go back in. No one explained what was going on. At check out the staff was unfriendly. I gave her the opportunity to ask how our stay was and to see if they were going to explain what took place the night before she never offered, so I asked what happen and was told the fire alarm got pulled by kids at the pool area ( again lack of security) she never said I'm sorry for the inconvenience. We also had a credit on our print out bill when I said that we had a credit I was told that our card was already charged and that we would have to use it at the spa or Restaurant (they knew of the credit before we arrived and should have told us at check in) We were checking out so we were not going to either place. The valet parking boy was the only one that asked us how our stay was and that's not his job.

Beautiful hotel! Room service dinner was the absolute best I've had in my life!! The only negative thing after checking out, we asked the front desk to call us a cab for transportation. They assured us they would call..... they forgot. Twice we asked for help, and we never got it. We eventually called ourselves..... and had a new cab driver who had no idea where the airport was.

I really want to give it 5 stars. That said, I think they are overpriced for what they provide. It is a beautiful, well appointed facility. But for that price point, I would rather drive to the Ritz in Amelia Island.

One of the best places I have stayed. The staff members are wonderfully nice and they offer amazing services such as free steaming of your cloths and 24 hour room service. There are olanty of free snacks everywhere. The hotel feels like a palace made for a mermaid but it's just not underwater. It has beach access and is within walking distance of plenty of tasty restaurants.

I just wanted to take a moment to send a personal thank you to the spa and restaurant staff working Thursday, July 19, 2018. Beverly in the spa was extremely helpful in the booking process and a very pleasant energy upon arrival. Absolutely every person on the staff that we encountered was professional, knowledgeable, kind and each person contributed to our much needed vacation. Thank you very much. I'm looking forward to visiting again soon. I wish we could afford to do this every month. Keep up the wonderful work. It's truly appreciated! Good service is an art. One Ocean Resort and Spa is a masterpiece!

First I Should say I travel and stay at many hotel...
First I Should say I travel and stay at many hotels all around the world so I've seen a lot. That being said. The good:
1. Second most comfortable bed, pillows and cover I've ever slept in. #1 Beverley Hills Hotel.
2. Bar fridge with some pop and snacks very nice.
3. Ironing and shoe shines fantastic.
4. View very pretty
5. Non management staff superb attitudes are priceless.
That's unfortunately where it ends.
The bads:
My father always told me those who show they have money don't actually have any at all. This hotel tries very hard to portray itself as an ultra luxury resort. I heard management tell this to other guests as well as myself. When I asked how much a suite would be the manager on duty told me because it was a resort it would be very very expensive. What makes this place a resort? The fact that it's on a beach? It's a building with rooms that has a spa like many other hotels, a pool, a resteraunt and valet. A real high end hotel would never say they are a high end hotel. It is understood.
1. No coffee maker. Ok. Was told it was complimentary. (Nice) except of-coarse it's not. 4$ plus 22% tip. Makes no sense.
2. Bathrooms are tiny. Shower head was full of rust and the doors full of grime. This was my second room. My first room the Ac died and spewed an awful smell at 11:30pm.
3. Housekeeping super loud in the morning walking through the halls knocking on doors. The privacy button means nothing. They walked into the room while I was in bed at 9am. Housekeeping in any high end facility should be invisible and definitely not heard.
4. The beach needs some work but of-coarse it's Jacksonville. Not a whole lot you can do.
5. The pool was brutal. Gorgeous and comfortable chairs all around but completely useless. Freezing!!!! Everyone was complaining. Something as simple as warming the water to a proper temp based on the whether?
6. Managers... Perhaps this started my bad experience but I can say either they are all taught to be a certain way or they are simply snobs. I can tell you that if they worked for me I would not be putting up with this kind of arrogant and self righteous behaviour. After driving for 4.5 hours I was tired. My room experienced severe mechanical problems. Made me wait for 20'minutes in the lobby. The valet guy brought me the key. The manager on duty could care less. You give the keys to the valet? Not even a sorry about that? How about an upgrade for making me wait in the lobby at 1130pm for 20 mins. Plus another 10 in the room waiting for the maintenance guy to come. Nope got a worst room than I got in the first place. Kept on being reminded that this was a resort and they don't give things away. I beg your pardon? Oh boy. Stay at a st Regis or a ritz or even a Hampton inn. You don't act like that with guests.
Also, loud dogs in the rooms nearby, puke on towels in the hallway and no shampoo twice in the room.
Other than a few crappy things, the hotel is great. The associates are amazing, the food in the resteraunt is good and the rooms and views are nice.
I don't usually review hotels but I'm hoping management realizes they have a true gem on their hands but the attitude of godliness needs to end. Managers need to be understanding and sympathetic not argumentative and uncooperative.

My family and I enjoyed our three-night stay at Ocean One Resort. The staff was very nice and helpful, the hotel was clean, and the food was excellent. We enjoyed breakfast and lunch each day (the avocado toast was terrific). My children enjoyed the outdoor pool, then the quick jump to the beach to wade in the surf and see dolphins. The surrounding area was a nice place to have a meal and to walk around and enjoy the nice weather. This is a terrific place for families, couples, and for those traveling alone.

My friend made a group reservation 2 weeks prior to our planned date (the only day we could all get together around the holidays) for their High Tea event. When we arrived, they didn't have it and couldn't/wouldn't accommodate us, and they offered nothing for losing the reservation.
Also, the event posting spelled Maine without an 'e' when listing lobster from the state. I was going to let that slide, but maybe it should have been a flag.
I will not be attempting to patronize this place again. Not impressed.

Way too few valet personnel! Our luggage was right behind you. Checked in, up to 8th floor, one phone call 30 later to front desk elicited I m so sorry, it ll be right up. Twenty min later in person at desk, my sister located our bags. Propped right beside the desk, all alone. That was the beginning, so sad because it had a great spot on the Atlantic!! I m still looking for my credit of $280 frm when I reserved rooms (for the Ralph wedding), told it would slip right off the bill. Today (wedding was 18 days ago) I called to request a check of a bar bill. For $153.04. Between 9pm & 9:20pm by my daughter & son-in-law. Boy! They drink fast!! Wedding went frm 4pm to 11pm, completely open bar, hard liquor included. Three holds, 2 shifts in attitude frm woman (I do know her name, but I will refrain) researching the issue & lo & behold, it was billed to wrong room. Funny, too. First hold I could hear all that was said in background. When we actually checked out, my sister & I both had to ask for the parking fee reductions to be credited.
The staff on the floors kept their word every time we asked for anything, best service I ve experienced! The phone was always answered promptly at front desk. Beach was lovely. Rooms were EXTREMELY clean.
Billing appears to need assistance.

I've been going to One Ocean for cocktails and their family brunches since 2010. Last week was the first time I stayed there. I was booked her for 3 nights from Friday to Monday on the 3rd floor with a partial view. The location is beautiful with tranquil ocean views. It's proximity to Mayport and NAS and Jax Beach drag in the basura posers who save up paychecks to command the minion slave staff who are bootlickers.
On Saturday night, I ordered in dining service since I refused to go to the Azurea and be subjected to the banal conversations of the Jacksonville area posers who roll up in their made in China creations thinking they are on Duck Dynasty. The interns from the Philippines are very nice and on point. The other ones need to go to university for Hotel and Restaurant management. I asked the one front desk girl which restaurants honor the 10 percent discount for presenting the hotel key which was in the hotel amenities instructions. She was a millennial so she didn't know and told me to download the app. I complained to the Daisy Duke front desk manager that I didn't get my creme brulee or tea. He ignored it. On Sunday morning I was told that I was going to be going to be upgraded to a higher floor room with a full ocean view and balcony. I ordered breakfast. At 12:00 hotel manager on staff something Cavanaugh called me that I had to be out by 12:30. We exchanged words from the night before as I told her the incompetence of the staff. Homegirl called the police and kicked me and my sick dog and 6 month old kitten to the curb without an explanation.
One Ocean is a beautiful place run by disgusting minions affiliated with the Military Industrial Complex. Ignorant staff and clientele who need to go on a diet . You are better off at the Ritz Carlton on Amelia Island where the people went to school before they engage with the public. One Ocean attracts trailer trash and the like.

As a beach native to the Jacksonville community I can understand the mix of reviews here. One Ocean is not your standard beach flare. It would be considered expensive by the many who frequent the vast amount of standard hospitality locations around the beach. In the case of One Ocean you get what you pay for, which is excellence and luxury accommodation. It's not hotel for the blue collar beach crew style and provides an escape from the normal scene.
As a past Hospitality Professional and current Digital Marketing Professional, I can assure you One Ocean is a fabulous hotel. As a recipient of the coveted Marriott of the Year award in Scottsdale AZ, I understand what it takes to provide the level of service demonstrated by the staff at One Ocean. It takes a commitment to excellence and a leadership team who can deliver.
One Ocean is fabulous hotel, close to the beaches finest corner of activity. I would recommend it for those looking for Luxury close to action of jax beach and not nestled with the retirement atmosphere of Ponte Vedra.
A high class hotel is a plus for the community of Atlantic Beach... enjoy it.
