As with most property management companies this company works for the board and not the homeowners. I have found that while they respond fairly promptly to email inquires the response is condescending or worded such that it is my fault I didn't understand what I was asking. And they were simple questions such as "Where are the minutes on your website ?"(They were posted not to be shown publicly.) I have mice; any suggestions. "There are no mice in the building." The Property Manager sets the "tone" for the board which reinforces a secret, lack of transparency and very poor communication style with homeowners. If I were on the board I would start the process to look for a new property manager. If you haven't hired them already, I suggest you interview others.

Cedar Management joined our Association a few years back. Since then we have seen our good contractors replaced by less then desireable contractors. Just like the other reviews if you need something fixed it could be months or maybe a year to hear back from them. I requested to have some broken outer lights repaired over a year ago and had to follow up myself and I was told they are replacing the lights. They couldn't even let us know that. If you do call them about any issues they always seem agitated and you can tell they are not even listening to you. We recently had some siding work done from the summers hail storm. We were not notified on the day that they would be pounding on my townhome. When I got home that day my poor little dog was shaking. Had I known the of the day they would be working I would have made other arrangements. They left sharp pieces of cut metal and nails laying in the snow where my dog walks. When I called about it she was short with me and said they would look into it. Not good customer service if anytime you call they make you feel like nuisance.

This team manages an association townhouse and condo facility I live in.

I notified them of exterior leaks through a door, wall, and a roof. They were notifed in writing 18 months ago, they start the work 6 months after being notifed of the issues - and still to this day - they have not completed the repairs. I have requested a schedule for the repairs and have not gotten one.

After repeated emails to document all the issues with pictures and notes, I called the Cedar Management and the Property Manager said he was not responding to my emails because he does know a schedule, not sure when he would have one together. His positon is that I am not "out anything" - so speed of repairs does not seem to be his priority.

They do not have the skill set to "project manage" repairs beyond one vendor. They have assigned 3 different people over 18 months I have been here to our facility. They do not leave the office to review any issues. Even when the issues are fotographed and well documented for them - they fail at executing to the task if more than a light bulb.

Take a look at this picture of the sub-framing on a knee wall on a deck with damage from a leak. The Property Manager when I sent him these pics stated in writing to me that it is fine and the roofers will warranty the roof for 25+ years and he trusts their judgement. I had to contact my assocation directly and the next day - they had a vendor go out and make repairs and agreed no way the issues should not be addressed. So I asked for a letter from the roofing company to document said 25+ warranty. Tom the property manager said they would sent it to me... (Needless to say when I called said roofing company that I would with also - they laughed)

I give them 2 stars because from what I have heard and I have no reason to think otherwise - their financial team assisting the association seems well suited for the job.

As far as facility and repairs and customer interactions with home owners / tenents, they would fall well below 1 star.

I was offered to move in earlier than expected because I was told my unit was ready. Upon showing up I was informed the apartment had some work orders to finish. After numerous calls and messages left unanswered the work never was completed. New manager eventually hired and his response is great but when the maintenance finally does show up the work is horribly completed and they leave the mess behind. Broken blinds, toilet paper holder is falling out of the wall, patio door won t latch closed, kitchen faucet leaks, closet doors fall off tracks, dishwasher won t actually clean dishes and stove top burners heat up but don t get hot enough to boil water, bathroom mirror holders were pulling out of and finally fell landing on one of my children luckily not injuring her. Most of these were not done at move in but I was told they would be fixed soon, which ended up being 6 months before they addressed. Garage broken into and theft of items took two weeks to repair and all the sheet rock and screws and parts left scattered on the floor, the broken sections of wall were thrown on top of my stuff. Repairmen have zero respect for property and their craftsmanship when they repair these units. Anything that was failed to normal wear and tear is serviced in under two weeks.

The trash and recycling cans appear as a blast zone and the recycling bin has been burned down twice within 8 months, the park area is a the place charcoal grills go to die, so many broken down and non-registered cars in the lot there is hardly room to park and makes snow removal very difficult, smoking outside and on decks/inside units are so common it drifts back into AC units and open windows, the controlled access doors to building have been missing for months so you can literally open the door to the enter the building. I hate to go on but I m more upset that I didn t see all the signs of poorly maintained building when I moved in so I must assume some responsibility myself.

Management is decent to work with and are responsive in prompt fashion but their words mean little when the follow through is dreadfully poor. I have had to do some work to repair closet doors regularly as they fail and besides the constant smell of pot and horribly burned ethnic food pouring through the two basketball-sized holes behind my vanity mirror and under vanity sink it not a terrible place to live once you get air fresheners and candles burning. It s also nice to see how often the police show up as you become familiar with their faces from being called so many times.

From being told I could have a storage unit that s never been available and washers and dryers constantly down it s hard to see myself signing on for another year.

ITS TERRIBLE! Especially Silverwood apartments. They are money hungry, disrespectful (especially Aimee Frazen). They are very very disoragnized. I WOULD NOT suggest renting here. You have better chance of being happier in a run down apartment. Their hallways smell like garbage. They post a rent rate but when you sign the lease they charge you more. ITS TERRIBLE DO NOT RENT FROM THESE SLUMLORDS!!!!!!! I regret it!

They owners/landlords SUCK ! im sorry but trying to get ahold of them or anything you WONT . Ive been living in their property for 3 years now , when I moved in the carpet smelted like mold and piss . I finally asked after continuously carpet cleaning the carpet if it can get replaced cause the smell never left and I have three daughters under 5 that live there and I got denied , the rodent issue is gross and also Ive had bathroom issues since I moved in that never actually get fixed right , My shower had a mildew stain of black looking mold around the trim that the still haven't fixed after THREE YEARS . They also let another tenant that was pregnant at the time and had a one year old go without heat in the unit the WHOLE WINTER . They never helped her with that also . PLEASE if your looking for somewhere and have kids DO NOT RENT THROUGH THEM !!

This is an absolutely terrible and horrible management company. Get involved in your board before they vote them in. They do not have or notify owners of meetings where they can be voted out.
when they took over at our townhouse association last year they didn't even bother with fall cleanup of leaves and this winter snow plowing and walk clearing has been horrible at best. I spoke with three different neighbors tonight as we were clearing out our driveways into the street so that at least the plow would clear the snow. They have threatened towing cars and must have some connection or kickback arranged with the towing agency because they love doing that. I know I am not alone all you have to do is look at the reviews and ratings to see the caliber of people you are dealing with. It appears they are used to dealing with Apartments where they can be slumlords and terrorize and dominate the people who rent there. If you are subject to this company possibly taking over at your Association please do your homework and due diligence for yourself and make sure that is what you absolutely want!!!!!!!

Management is terrible, it takes weeks for them to reply. Took them 5 weeks to replace the toilet seat,Hardware store across the street. Replaced the terrible flooring in the bathroom only,and now I can see the wax ring underneath the toilet, didn t bother to seal it. Wobbles terrible. Management towed my BF car that does not live here and is a visitor and will not reimburse the $300 we are out. They say they hung a sign up to tell people not to park in visitor parking! Worst, most unsympathetic management company ever! Melissa Johnson does not care to listen to tenant concerns. She is absolutely unprofessional and will straight out ignore any concerns brought to her. The company is greedy and will charge any extra fee they can, hiding behind made up rules. Melissa is never in the office working - when she's contacted she says she isn't in the office currently and will contact you later, which she doesn't do. She earns her money by charging tenants extra fees, not by actually working to keep her tenants happy. Basically, don't bother contacting this management company if you have any concerns because they will NOT listen to you and they will not address them.

Don't bother renting at Scotland Green which is managed my Cedar. The Flinstone's have better appliances than they do. They so called have reserved parking which I would find cars parked in my spot. Everytime that I contacted them they wouldn't do anything about it. When it comes to snow plowing they leave one sign up in the building which can get ripped off by some brat. I got my car towed and was not informed in a timely manner. Their laundry room is locked by a manager after 10pm so if you need another 10 minutes; good luck! The management are lazy, clueless, and rude. I have never encountered such unethical management. They should bring a pillow and blanket to work because they are sleeping with their eyes open. Save your money and rent somewhere else.

These people never fix anything until they are threatened to and then it takes them months to fix it. We were without AC for 2 months with a baby in the house and they just kept claiming parts were being ordered. Their places are not maintained and are falling apart. Plus a few years back there was a mold infestation from a flood in the basement due to cracks in the foundation. Just painted over it and called it good. And our gutters are growing trees out of them.

Cedar Management took over our condo association a few years ago. I feel they are one if not the best property managers. They are fair and have done everything for us more than they should have due to a weak Board. Our buildings and the look of our properties improves every year. It is a process there is a lot to do! Mary Felix is extremely knowledgeable and smart giving good advice, ideas, and hearing a lot of ranting from homeowners who expect it all now! Despite all the work she has kept our association together. I say Well Done Cedar Management and recommend them highly.

They made me write a letter to appeal for reimbursement, they rejected me on the grounds of some made up rules about 48 hour parking(I had barely been there for 2 hours and apparently had some creep taking pictures for them[they won't give me his info so that i may get a restraining order]). BBB, city council, mayor, governor, WCCO, Kare 11, and a giant stack of flyers for their residents says GIVE ME THE 400 DOLLARS YOU COST ME BY HAVING MY CAR TOWED. I tried being reasonable but clearly they don't know how to run a business.

Cedar management currently manages the property s of the association we re I live. Our contact person Jill, Is damn near impossible to communicate with. Calls go unanswered or ignored . When there is response , There s never a clear answer . Things always left open ended or forgotten. Jill is not an accountable person. Always seems to have an excuse for everything . She is also EXTREMELY rude when you speak with her. The quality of work by their vendors is always hit or miss. Overall I have not been satisfied with their service.

We didn't find out how big of a liar she is until we were two months into the lease. Things promised never was fulfilled. They don't fix anything. They do what you call patch work which does not solve the problem. My daughter, her husband and four children came in town on a Tuesday and I was told they had to gone by that Friday. Meaning if they are on a 2 weeks vacation they have to cut their vacation short. I promise if you are someone who cares how you are treated do not rent from Cedar Management.

Once again my theory of the management companies has been proven.
Any management company can do the financial end of an HOA: pay bills, keep the books straight, do the yearly budget, answer the phone. But it is the property manager, who is responsible for the day to day operations of the HOA that is the lynch pin. If the HOA does not get a good manager it will show in your property. Our property manager had 7 properties under her management. I can only speak for ours and we were definitely short changed. Property visits were almost non-existent even though contract calls visits every 7-10 days. No supervision of vendors or large projects on the property. As to advising the board.....we were on our own. Enforcing Rules and Regulations was the last thing on the list and consequently were rarely done except under extreme pressure from the board. Board members had a free reign to decide what and how the rules were enforced. The fiduciary responsibility of board members was never
mentioned or fully explained. Our spring walk thru list of damages/ repairs was never fully completed.
It is not the property management that makes your HOA a success ...it is the property manager. So find a good one. If you are unhappy try to get another manager. You may have to fight for it but do not let up your fight.

I lived at blainevilla in 2016 and was only one month behind had two kids already VERY pregnant with my third and they evicted me ONLY BECAUSE I WANTED THEM TO FIX THE MAJOR ISSUES!!! I didn't know that I had to put rent in an escrow account to withhold rent!!! My stove was electrocuting me for months, there was withstanding water under my sink and not only wouldn't they fix my sink but also wouldn't clean up the water.... They accused me of stealing light bulbs, so I showed my receipts for my $1 light bulbs lol and they didn't apologize.... Then they attempt to evict me around my delivery date, I went to the hospital from my apartment while my Friends moved me out, I had no idea where I was going to go when i left the hospital, i didn't even want to leave!!! I now have an entire house on a farm and pay way less to be treated well by my landlord and management company, thanks for forcing the upgrade!!! At least my babies aren't getting eaten by your bed bugs!!!!

Exceedingly unprofessional, namely Tom Bloom. Withholds information from homeowners that homeowners are rightfully owed. Even the CEO, Steve Anderson, refuses to call homeowners back. In his exact words, "we don't deal with homeowners" even though our association's Rules and Regulations explicitly state "For any questions, concerns, or maintenance requests, contact Tom Bloom".

It's disappointing I have to give it at least one star. They should be called a Miss-management company. and show you what performance you can expect from the lowest bidder. They're unorganized, unprofessional, and if your looking renting from a property they manage, reconsider. They have no considerations for tenants and will go with the cheapest option every time. with no consideration to the tenants.

They didn't update the office when they changed the locks, they lost a check before it got to the landlord and requested my aid in finding it, and when I had WASTE TOILET WATER leaking in from above my bathroom they took a month to fix the issue, tearing the ceiling open and exposing it then just waiting weeks for it to air dry. With zero compensation or aid for my unsanitary and unusable bathroom. The whole experience with them was a nightmare and I'm glad to be out from under it.

Tom Bloom (the association manager for the townhouses I live in) illegally towed cars and did not inform ANY of the owners that he got a new tow company THE DAY BEFORE. We got the car out for free from the tow lot (because they realized this man royally messed up). He also will not give me a copy of the rules and regulations of the association. AAANNNNDD my floor has been busted for MONTHS and they have been informed multiple times to no avail. I pay $1635 a month and cedar management is absolutely no help. 10/10 would recommend ASK property management vs cedar.

Pretty frustrating to deal with. Very poor communication. They do not return phone calls. They are slow to answer emails. They do not answer questions the first or even second time.

Avoid if you can. If you are a condo owner in an association they manage; get on the board and get them out!
