Got charged a bill of $13,000 for a CT Scan that took 5 min and 2,000 for a room. Outrageous!!!
Got charged a bill of $13,000 for a CT Scan that took 5 min and 2,000 for a room. Outrageous!!!
HORRIBLE. Came to the emergency room, it took an hour just to get my blood drawn, they haven't given me an update, and all the nurses and doctors are sitting in the hall talking and laughing.
Went to L&D due to contractions, the nurses where very friendly and attentive. But on another note the hospital was EXTREMELY dirty and unsanitary. They didnt have any clean rooms and had to put me in a recovery room. The nurses where great but now I'm really debating on giving birth there due to how unclean it was.
Had a family member undergo surgery for a wrist fracture and received outstanding care in this hospital.
ER NP is a witch! I went in with severe abdominal pain and was told I was just constipated. NP laughed and said, "No wonder you're in pain. Take some mag citrate and you'll feel better." 2 days later, I ended up in surgery with a ruptured appendix. That was not the first time I've seen that same NP, and she had the same attitude the other time. I have friends who have experienced the same treatment & have been treated like drug seekers for going to the ER for serious problems! It's sad that this area has the WORST medical care! People would rather drive to Lubbock & Dallas/Ft. Worth than visit any of these pitifully staffed hospitals in our own back yard. That says a LOT & you snotty people who run these facilities could not care any less. As long as that money is rolling in, who cares!
Negative stars if I could. Terrible experience from start to finish. I would never recommend this horrible Hospital to anyone!
I am a proud employee of ORMC. ORMC has always been and will always be my choice for quality healthcare for me and my family
Highly recommend this hospital. I have had three babies here and I also work here. I've been with ORMC for 26 years that should tell you how I feel about the hospital. I feel we give excellent care to the community. We are a family working together to make your experience a great one! In my opinion, this is the only place I would go to for my healthcare needs.
I live in Austin, but appendix chose to go bad in Odessa. I was seen very quickly, the staff was great. I was treated great, no complaints. Out of all the medical staff I encountered, there was literally ONE nurse who could turn a smile upside down. Would've given 5 stars, but said nurse walked me to the elevator upon being discharged, and simply said take care as I rode down alone, and walked out of the building alone. You don't do that with a post surgery patient....shame on y'all for that one.
As an employee, I highly recommend ORMC. There is a family-like feeling among everyone. I enjoy working here with such a caring team.
The current ER triage nurse needs to find a new job I'll be filing a complaint with the Er director
Day Triage nurse is rude and unprofessional.
She said no outside food is allowed but she had outside food in her desk...
My daughter came in with an injury and did not get to eat after her soccer injury, and my hubby is diabetic and she did not allow us to come in to give them something to eat while they were waiting on xray results. I have never had this problem @ Medical Center Hospital! Last time we come here
This is the second time I go to th ER with stomach pain the nurses were extremely rude unprofessional I was there for 6 hours I didn t even met the doctor they didn t even gave me information about the test or nothing the nurse just said call this doctor to make an appoint I think it s the doctors responsibility to go talk to the patient to give info but never met or know who was the doctor .. they just don t care about your health .
Employees always go above and beyond when it comes to patient care. The facility is clean and has a positive environment no matter the department. I highly recommend ORMC!
I am leaving this review only because of my concerns regarding the lack of focus on patient safety at this hospital. My father would still be alive today had this hospital followed even the basic patient safety protocols.
The instant coffee in post partum nourishment room will give you the runs... Beware.
I was seen at ORMC on 9/7/20 for muscle spasms. The RN at the front who checked me in was Brittany. She was very professional and assisted with getting me checked in and into my treatment room. There was another nurse named Brittany who came in to take my blood and she had a rough time drawing blood because I have rolling veins. She did her best to make me comfortable and to keep me calm. She finally got some blood but it wasn't enough. I could tell that she takes pride in her work. She didn't want to hurt me so she had another nurse named Lorraine to come in and get my blood and to give me a shot. All of the nurses were awesome to me. My PA Rebecca Deggs was the best. She showed concern for my pain and my bp and she assured me that she would take care of me. She delivered. I'm not from Odessa but due to working here I was referred to ORMC. I pray that I never have to go back but if so I'm going to ask for Brittany x2,Lorraine and Rebecca Deggs. The only complaint I have is the janitors need to keep the waiting room clean.
The worst hospital I have EVER been to - they don't deserve even 1 star! I complained to the person you are supposed to complain to and NEVER got a response. The nurse forgot about me in the ER and I never saw a doctor. Oh but I got that $7,000 hospital bill. Complete BS! There was a great ultra sound tech though. She was the only shining light at this hospital.
Excellent Staff, Grate Service. My dad had a Fuminal Hearth attak Doctors tried the best they could Nurses and Doctor director helped me with all the process Thank you I appreciate all your help God bless you all.
Worst experience ever!!! Got denied service on Account my head injury happened a month ago. pleaded with the desk guy today about how i needed to be seen!!! Didn't know he had the right to talk to me with that tone.. my head hurts. Didn't know they could deny service???
I came in by ambulance with a heart attack, and live over 7 hours away, and have no insurance. I've been here 8 days. I've had a triple bypass. I will forever be thankful that God put me here, with these great people.
I've been treated with the utmost respect, and kindness, by everyone!
And encourage others who have also had a great experience here, to please post.
I went to orh for gallbladder surgery. My surgery was scheduled for 7:45am. I arrived at 6am. I was in pre-op waiting for 6 hours. My doctor never showed. The staff never told me for one my surgery had been pushed to 11:30. I finally left at 12:30 and dr still hadn't showed up. Staff kept telling me 5 min, 5 min at 12:15..by the time i got the iv out and got dressed it was 12:30, he still wasn't there and that was 15 min after they said 5 minutes. It ridiculous!! Worst surgery experience EVER!! My dr blames the hospital, the hospital blames the dr.
The staff in the Emergency room is horrible I do my best stay away from emergency rooms but due to the amount of pain & how I was feeling on a Sunday Evening I decided to go get checked. The nurse Practitioner was in there less than a1 minute never once laid a finger on me as a doctor should I was having severe abdominal pain & she did not once touch my stomach. There were multiple other issues with the hospital but its too much to type. I was treated for a condition I had over 5years ago because the symptoms I was having matched. The nurse is the one who told me what I was being treated for because the nurse practitioner was too busy. If you are sick & need to be checked this is not a hospital I would recommend going to. At one time this hospital was my first choice I have had multiple surgeries there the last being in 2010. But I can honestly say that I will never go back to that hospital.
This place is absolutely terrible, i had my son here and they did 3 blood works on him with no explanation, never got to talk to a single doctor after asking several times and they stole my fiances earrings. DO NOT COME HERE
Got there at 12am still here at 3:30am. Nurse came in an hour ago and said tests were normal and doctor was with another patient. Turns out the doctor is passed out behind the desk. I took a picture of it too.
I have used ORMC for my medical care in the past and found the experiences to be positive. I also work there for 15 years. ORMC is family.
Nurse at this hospital don t even like to help a blind black person.
I don't care about any negative words about this great hospital....bar none the best around....great health Care staff and that fourth floor staff is the best....
I was here as a heart attack patient and these great people saved my life...never once did they fail to impress me from the Cath to the cardiac to emergency... unbelievable people....I felt like I was being taking care of by a friend....AMAZING!!!!!
I was very unfortunate to visit this hospital. All my tests were negative,I was in pain with my temperature very high, the doctor only gave me a steroid injection and no prescription and said there was nothing else he could do. I had to go to first physician the next day where I was treated. How do you send me over $5000 bills when I was not even treated? What kind of a hospital is this ripping people off in these hard times? What exactly are these charges for?
Working for ORMC sucks. They are the lowest paying hospital. This hospital does not care about their employees at all.
Rude nurses on the second floor, they rush you to pick your patient if not they threaten to call APS. My father in law did not get the care he needed there, he was sent home with a infected catheter. Medical center hospital immediately admitted him , removed the infected catheter. Never again will I take him or any other of my family members to ORMC. Hopefully some changes will be made.
Horrible horrible hospital ..went to the ER after a scare and was told my sons fainting episodes were very normal then went on to find out it was indeed NOT NORMAL by his doctor who found an abnormality in his EKG then he was referred to a pediatric cardiologist..they simply do not care ..no sense of urgency at all..even passed by the doctor who was assigned to us sitting on his butt watching YouTube videos as sick people were waiting ..Odessa citizens deserve a better hospital this place is a poor excuse for a hospital
Worst experience ever. I will never have another child at this hospital. Rude doctors. No communication. Doctors are never here. They just avoid questions and answers.
Worst experience ever. Went to the ER and the nurses and doctor were terribly rude. Claimed I was having a miscarriage and my cervix was open. I was 8 weeks pregnant then.. now I am 37 weeks pregnant and due any day. They are liars and do not care about the patient whatsoever! Go to Midland Hospital PLEASE! If I hadn't moved out of the area I would go back and stick my big belly in their faces and show them they were wrong!!
Just delivered my baby a couple nights ago and couldn't have asked for better nurses. Every single one I had was amazing! Thank you guys so much!!
I just had my baby there on the 22nd. I have to say my experience there was really positive. All the staff I dealt with was really nice and more than willing to help. All the nurses from labor & delivery to post-partum made me feel so comfortable and helped me alot. The lactation consultants are also great! Even the room service & housekeeping people were so friendly. Anyway, I'm grateful for all of them & everything they did to accommodate my baby & I !
This was one of the worst emergency room care i have ever received...the staff was very unprofessional including the doctor...Jeffery Jason Chambers...i arrived by ambulance due to my face and scalp were inflamed with huge bumps...i informed them that i thought i was haveing an allergice reaction to the medication my doctor had prescribed....your staff put me in the hallway and gave me a bag of ice...i sat there for almost two hours while your staff and doctor played little mind games...the doctor kept coming around asking me if wanted a shot...and of course i said yes...i was in alot of pain...doctor came by and just looked at my forehead and ignored the rest of my scalp...they never gave me a shot of any kind and they continued to play games while the emergency got quite full including security guard...they all just stood there while i cried...about three hours later a nurse comes out and gives me 3 packets of neosporin and released me...i asked the nurse if they were going to run any kind of test or give me something for pain at least due to i was very concerned with a huge bump that was on my forehead with what looked like a worm or some kind of parasite...i had been bitten by some kind of bug on my chest which Dr Butler had prescribed...i informed them i thought i was having an allergice reaction to the medicine my doctor had prescribed...they just ignored me and had me sign some papers the nurse never reviewed these papers with me...i signed and had my husband pick me up...i told my husband to take me to our family doctor due to i was in alot of pain and they had just given neosporin...our family doctor informed me i had shingles and it had moved all the way to the back of my scalp...while waiting there my husband looked at the papers and told me did you see what they put...they had put that i had meth burns and was intoxicated...i do noit do meth or drink..IAM VERY UPSET WITH THIS DIAGNOSIS...i am a firm believer in HIPPA...when i lookied on facebook there was people gossiping about the diagnosis which FAR FROM THE TRUTH...THIS IS DEFAMATION OF CHARACTER AND UNACCEPTABLE.
I do believe this hospital is a lot better than Medical Center Hospital but and yes there s a bit and that is it seems to take forever waiting for a Dr. to come in the room in the ER
My daughter is having her first baby....should be an amazing experience...but no its not.....her nurses have switched shifts not letting her know.....they are not coming in to check like they should. They are paged and asked to bring things to her and nothing. Her saline is out it has been beeping for I don't know 10 minutes now. And no one has even come in. I have went out there and let them know she would like something for pain after she called the nurse, and nothing.
Waited in the emergency room fast track for over four hours. Waited in the back once called for over two hours all the while nurses ordered food and let machines just ring and ring. Thank the lord our emergency was tolerable unlike others who needed care so bad i was willing to give them my wait. Dr was ok rude but in a passive/agressive style and at the end of our 5 hour total wait we got a cream and was over smh i would go elsewhere or see your dr preferably so insensate one day they will be in the patients shoes and see what it feels like to need help and be talked to and treated like dirt.
This hospital and most of the staff are very caring
Extreme pain during epidural. This was my third epidural so I know something was wrong. I'm pretty sure they are supposed to
numb the site before they apply the epidural but they did not do that this time. Horrific experience. Choose anywhere else if you can.
Their billing department is a joke. My son was born at this hospital and had the same insurance when he later went back for an injury. They didn't even charge the insurance, which was Medicaid and every single billing department has access to their database to very coverage (which I know for a FACT because I've worked in billing for YEARS). They charged ME instead and I'm still fighting a $500 bill years later that nobody will help me with.
I'm constantly fighting debt collectors and ORMC's billing department because THEY MADE A MISTAKE. They never even bothered to send me a bill, although they claim they did, which is a lie. I didn't hear ONE WORD about this until it suddenly appeared on my credit 5 years later.
The debt collector they use just keeps selling it over and over, even when I've proved time and time again that it is a mistake and that ORMC needs to either bill correctly or call it a loss.
Don't go to ANY clinic or ER unless you're prepared to handle the billing yourself, because they obviously can't and won't get it right and take literally no responsibility for their gross errors.
My wife was seen by Bobby McDowell the pa on 9-28-18 which was a Friday. She had a severe infection in her leg. Bobby said everything was ok the wound looked like it was healing without a blood test or any imaging. He sent her home while she was crying in pain. Needless to say she had a miserable weekend. Monday October 1 we called her surgeon who told her to get to the emergency rm at Medical Center hospital. She was put into emergency surgery less than 2 hrs later. All of this could have been avoided with a simple blood test that Bobby could have ordered. He refused though. My wifes leg tissue started dying so when the surgeons at Mch opened her leg they had to remove most of the Fatty tissue and miscle on her left thigh and had to have a jp drain put into her hip she has over 175 stitches in her leg. We have no clue when they will come out. Please take my advice and dont go here unless u cant go anywhere else. If u have to go and Bobby is the pa plz ask for the Dr instead. You have that right. I just dont want any u to have to deal with what my wifes dealing with cause of a PA being negligent. We dont know if she will lose her leg yet or not. I am filing complaints against Ormc as well as the pa Bobby McDowell. I will probably file a lawsuit against Bobby considering there is a high possibilty of her having permanent damage cause 1 stupid so called pa couldn't take the time for a diagnosis.
So the Dr. That works the ER says that food poisoning or stomach issues isn't a reason to seek medical attention and there is nothing they can do for it. Has to run its course. Blood coming from your stool isn't a medical emergency. I beg to differ. I will be seeing another Dr. And they would due well to fire these people who are supposed to get you better. And get some actual Dr.s in there. I will be filing a lawsuit againt this facility. For negligence!
Worst er ever my wife is pregnet and she was sick amd we went ther and we had no money and we tought they would atleast prescribe something but no all they cared about was the money they dont care about the patients u can be dyeing and they dont care dont recomend going here !!!!!!
My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for over a year and my gynecologist had suggested that I have the hsg procedure done but unfortunately it was $3,500 but I had been informed that they were significantly cheaper at the Odessa Regional Hospital when I called to verify this she checked my health insurance information and said that it would be a flat fee of $500 with or without insurance that being said we decided to drive 3 hours into Odessa to have the procedure done only to find out that they changed it to $2700 sitting there in tears thinking we just drove all this way for nothing my husband said to go ahead and push forward even though we didn't have the money for this, to have to sit in the waiting room 30 minutes past my appointment (mind you were arrived 1 1/2hrs before my appt.) to get into the room and get ready to find out that I didn't have a doctor scheduled to perform the procedure, having to wait another 45 minutes to hope for someone to come down and perform this only to be told that my tubes are blocked but they didn't know why, I brought this to the attention of the business office as I was told to only to have the girls there tell me there was nothing that they could do and now here I am six days later and my doctor still has not received the results even though I was informed it would be 3 days, so I called up to the hospital only to get transferred continuously no one there seems to want to take responsibility for anything, I've never experienced such horrible service in my life and how you can ask someone to pay for something that you significantly changed the price on them last min. and then not give them the service that they're paying you for is absolutely ridiculous!
Love labor & delivery. When I had my daughter in 2011 with Dr. Rivera. The nurses & staff were amazing & caring. When I had my identical twin boys in 2013 they were amazing, caring, loving & awesome. I love the ladies in L&D keep up the good work ladies!
When I checked in I gave the triage team my insurance information. They acknowledged my informed and handed it back. Once I was back receiving care, of which was never by a doctor only a nurse practitioner... A lady came by and introduced herself as a representative of the patient advocacy council. She asked if I had insurance? I was puzzled by this question as I had given my insurance information upon checking in. I offered it again. I was told no need and to rest as it would be taken care of later. Later it was!!!!! $7,000 later for food poisoning I never once saw an actual doctor, but charged for a "physicians fee" and an "emergency room fee" as well as a fee for miscellaneous items charges! I'd rather have died of dehydration and complications from my current medical problems than get caught up in this medical hell hole!!! Hospitals like this give the medical field a bad name. Steer clear of of this trap!
This hospital is horrible none of the people here need emergency care. They are taking care away from people that truly need it. Once my bleeding pregnant gf got WALKED to a room a nurse came out of a room saying "I have no idea what i am even doing." The staff is so unhealthy/ old they can barley walk. They had no clue which rooms people are in and didn't know which ones had been cleaned. This is a disgrace to health care
I went with my wife for an emergency and doctor David Vinson told us, because we didnt have insuranse will be better to go to another place because they were private. He mentioned sending a big bill i wouldnt be able to buy a house or have a nice car on my future. Worst experience ever i really dont recommend anybody this place, where they only care about money and no human health.
This hospital is a business firm. They play with patient and their money. The first thing they think about when you go here is how to get money out of the patient instead of thinking how to get the disease and the problem out. Clear cut robbers.
I came in with severe back pain let them know I have kidney disease and two herniated discs before doing my vitals the nurse practitioner came out and started beating on my back as I jerked and cried in pain even the ppl in the waiting room could hear me. I gave a urine sample peed blood they drew blood and started an iv while I was still crying and throwing up from the pain. The CNP came in said u have a bad bladder infection let me write for some antibiotics and release you. Spoke with his attending and he decided to do Tylenol 3 and promethazine for Nassau but they didn't put anything throuhh the iv. And prescribed a medication I can't take with my kidney disease
ER wait was long as expected with most hospitals. The staff in ER were competent and friendly. The RNs, assistants, dietary, housekeeping all were very professional, attentive, and nice.
Worst service ever, I am there to find what is wrong with my daughter. You need to diagnose her not stand there and judge me for not giving my child a shot that is not needed. Dont need to hear your irrelevant remarks. Special when I tried (bcs I wasn't even given the chance to) to let you know last time my daughter had the flu shot she had a severe reaction to it. Even her doctor at the time said it wasn't wise to do it again until she'd grown more. Worst service ever!
This was our first ER visit in about ten years. I was dreading the wait time. We got right in the staff did a full history and work up. Most of the staff was very friendly u always have those few that hate there job. Overall the visit went good and the doctor was great. If you do have an emergency and need to go they are not bad.
Husband was taken by ambulance due to sever stomach pain. When they discharged him he was still in sever pain and I told his nurse. The Dr comes in and said I am not giving you any more meds and my husband asked why he was still in pain and the Dr response go and follow up with your regular doctor. RUDE!!!!!. Brought him to another ER clinic and he is now feeling better. Will not go here again.
They took care of me when I over dosed they took care of me when I crushed my pinky my works there and they took care of her twice and my grandma
My dad was sent from a nursing home with COVID-19. The nurse, Denise, that called to tell me about his status was very unprofessional and I could tell she didn't care about my dad. She bluntly said not to get my hopes up and asked if I had heard how cases of elderly from nursing homes ended. She added that even if they intubated my dad, he was probably not going to make it. Every time I called for an update, they said they were still working on it and would get back to us, but never did. She still had the nerve to ask me, "what is your goal for your dad?". I wanted to tell her, "duh, for him to live, you morron!" I am just going to transfer my dad to a professional hospital that has people that care and actually know what they are doing!
My mother was pregnant with twins. Firstly, she started bleeding profusely, came to ORMC, and was told that it was "just spotting." She was subsequently sent home. In the middle of the night my mother kept bleeding and returned to the hospital TO RECEIVE AN EMERGENCY C-SECTION two months early, after being told "everything is ok, they're fine." After the delivery, the babies were sent to the NICU. While visiting the babies in the NICU, we were treated with very rude behavior by one of the nurses. I was simply puzzled about where the hand sanitizer was, and this particular nurse turned to the side and said in a crude manner, "Oh, some of them don't speak English." I found that very insulting, and I find it disturbing that such behavior is allowed in an environment where new lives and their families should be welcomed and treated fairly.
With that being said, the nurse who took care of my mother from our room was very pleasant and helpful.
I cannot take reviews seriously from people who do not use correct grammar in writing. I was here once, and everyone was helpful, courteous, and concerned about my well being.
This emergency room missed a blood stream infection in a 2 year old. They tested her and had her there for 6 HOURS and somehow managed to miss this. This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional, if I could rate 0 stars I could. No parent deserves to go through something like this due to the negligence of the hospital.
I've always had a wonderful experience here. The staff treated me very well and has continued to do so anytime I have been there. However, I give only 4 stars because a physician who saw my husband in the ER would not listen to my issue and chose not to acknowledge this. It wasn't until I complained to the nurse that they sent another doctor who immediately investigated and found my concern to be within reason, finally correctly diagnosing my husband. I have a little nursing background but no license so for me to have had to point out the issue, should have been the last step. After my surgery, I still owed my out of pocket and I was not given ample time to try and make payment arrangements before they sent my account to a creditor. This was in less than 6 months and I'd barely paid off other debts so that, along with 2 surgeries and an ill husband, I was low on funds. I felt it was unfair of them to not allow me time to pay. Other than that time, I've always had great experiences with nursing staff.
Worst hospital ever .... If I could give no stars I would ... The ultrasound tech I dealt with today was a complete b*tch and I told her I was uncomfortable and she had the nerve to tell do u even want this exam ...I will never ever come back here to this crack ran hospital ... Case manager has never called ... This want-to-be hospital is freakn joke. I have decided if we do need any further from now on we will never come back to this hospital I will drive my ass 20 minutes to midland ... I could get better health at a public clinic than here
I took my wife to ORMC for a colonoscopy. It was a nightmare. The rudist Male nurse prep my wife. We were lied to by our doctor. My wife ask for mild sedation and was put completely under. We ask why and were lied to. She was forced to have bag of hydration solution put into her veins which was totally a joke. They would not let her leave claiming they had to monitor her. NOTHING but lies and poor service. She also had to take her clothes offina make shift room that had the ends of the curtains open. Very embarassing. I will never take my wife to this hospital to go through the embarasment, degregation and and horrible service. All they care about is running up a large bill a nd could careless a out my wife's health a d comfort.
A member of my family suffered a terrible head injury and was clearly not safe for discharge and these people did not seem to care.. apparetently he was safe to go about his business.. in the state he was in when they figured he was safe to be discharged he could have forgoten what was happening While Cousin was driving him home and simply hopped out of the car. He was going through paranoia, forgeting so many things.. he needed medical treatment and these people tried pushing him out of the door..... sickening, and to think you're actually billed for service there LOL
I talked to labor & delivery the lady was telling me in the middle of contractions that I need to go to Midland.. seriously! So unless you have a Dr here they'll send u across town. She was more concerned about my life story than the baby that's trying to make its way out. She was rude, impolite & unsympathetic.
Ormc. What can I say terrible place to come. Newborn with a fever takes 3 hours to get anything done and being frantic parents we forgot to bring something as simple as baby wipes. Ormc apparently no longer carries baby wipes even though the NICU is within walking distance. Asked nurse for some water as our room is across from the nurses lounge and apparently water and baby wipes are either for nurses only or this hospital has no water supply. this hospital sucks. Beds have no pillows or blankets the toilet seats are coated with urine and they just don't give answers to simple questions like "is there anything you can do for my 2 week old daughter who has a high temp or do I just gotta sit here thirsty and wipe her butt with damp kleenex which we brought from home cause they also will not give us any of those." I write this review as I sit in this hospital on may 28 2017 oh wait excuse me I've been here so long it's now may 29th. Might as well of just drove to Dallas to get treatment. At least they give you a glass of water.
Worst nursing system in my life. My first kid and takes for ever to get anything. Been here sense 5 pm on December 16th and it s 6 am the 17th and been checked three times took for ever to get pain meds too
I have not only been an employee of ORMC, but also a patient. I have been treated with nothing but respect as an employee. As a patient, I was also treated with respect and compassion. All of my needs and questions were addressed. I recommend you choose ORMC for your healthcare needs as well as for an employer.
I came in earlier today with a very, very painful tooth ache. Sore throat, tongue pain, hurts to swallow, cough, sneeze, etc. I was told by the doctor that the tooth needed to be extracted. I told her (dr.) that I have an appointment set up to do just that Friday. I am in Odessa visiting family so no dentist offices are open here or Midland on Sundays. So she leaves the room and a few moments later a different lady comes in and tells me since the dr. declared my visit there a non-emergency they needed me to pay $250.00 if I wanted them to proceed with their treatment. Meaning if I wanted to be given any antibiotics, etc. I had to pay them. I have never felt so mistreated. I was in tears and they basically gave me a big " oh well ". I didn't feel right when I pulled up to the building e.r. and when I approached the window to fill out paper work the receptionist was very "whatever" when I told her what brought me in there today. I think they need to look into the professionalism of the staff there. I feel as if I was treated unfairly.
The nursing staff at the NICU were beyond amazing we were transferred here and were scared, through their confidence, knowledge and the way they took care of our little girl made us feel so much better, thank you to all the nicu nurses especially Tess and Darlene they taught us so much!
I haven t ever posted a review on anything but I knew I just had to on ORMC... Michaela, Katie and Erica in Labor and Delivery made me feel comfortable as possible during labor and kept me informed through the whole process. I can t imagine a better experience than the one I had and I would recommend EVERYONE to have their baby here. I m truly amazed by Odessa Regionals professional staff!! Oh and the anesthesiologist Tim is the real MVP... thank goodness for epidurals !
The lady who checked me out before I was being admitted was just rude. I asked her when I could have an epidural. She says honey I don't even know if you're going into labor or not. My husband could see that I was having contractions on the monitor, real contractions. Then when I was admitted that same lady/nurse can't remember her name or job title unfortunately. She tells me I can't scream its a hospital and I need to be calm for my baby. First of all I wasn't even screaming and second I'm going into labor. Are you kidding me? Then wants to say she had three kids and never had an epidural. Good for you that you can tolerate the pain, want a cookie? Its sad that MCH has almost the same rating as this hospital. I had better care at the hospital where I gave birth to my son in Wisconsin. Maybe the hospitals here need to change their service or I need to move. Not impressed....
0 stars. My doctor sent me to the lab for a pregnancy test at ORMC. I have insurance and was billed $521 for my part of this test. They billed my insurance $953. If you do not have insurance it costs $115. Absolutely unscrupulous and unethical billing practices. When questioned, they essentially said they bill so much because they can. And the billing department said next time to just not have them file my insurance. There will not be a next time!
Worst hospital by far! I was sent from my obgyn to be admitted sitting now 47 minutes to checked in and registered and there's only one person checking in ppl! I would never personally choose this hospital unfortunately my ob is in odessa and this is the hospital he chose. It's not even the cleanest there's no hand sanitizer anywhere!!!!!
Worst experience I have ever had they acted like there was nothing wrong with me and just acted as if i was chasing drugs and work excuse I can't breathe I am having chest pains but your telling me you think there is nothing wrong with me
I went in to be induce last Monday and my body just ended up not being ready for delivery so soon. I was in labor for 3 days and all the nurses from Labor and Delivery, to Postpartum, to the Nursery, were all amazing. I couldn't have had more caring nurses throughout my whole experience. Kayla and Maribel were especially great in taking care of us for 3 days while in Labor and Delivery. A big thanks to ORMC for helping me become a mommy! It's the best!
Everyone I came in contact with last Tuesday, June 23rd, was very courteous, understanding, and was able to answer all my questions. At no time, did I feel apprehensive. I would not hesitate to recommend this facility to anyone. God bless them and everything they do.
I am an employee. ORMC is, and has always been, my choice for healthcare for me and my family. I wouldn't consider going anywhere else.
I prefer this hospital because I have had a good experience here. I was sad to see it so unattended. I recently went to visit my sister which just had surgery and when I walked in there was a nurse and a security officer . I asked if they could tell me in what room my sister was in and none of them could. They both told me to go to the second floor and ask. I thought that was why there was a computer on his desk for information. My mistake. I did see the lobby area dirty full of dust. Like no one cleans there. Doesn't smell clean. Then the front area is also not being taken care of. The playground is great love that but there is a huge ball that supposed to be a water feature but it's dry and full of pigion poop. The entrance windows along the ramp dirty and doors too. I think someone in charge should hire a landscaper to take care of the area and make it look nice, clean, sanitary, etc. I was surprised that orh would look this bad .
Pediatric night nurses DO NOT know what they're doing. My son's IV on his foot was infiltrated because they decided to tape his whole foot to keep in in place but failed to check on it like they were supposed to. His foot was swollen, purple, and had blisters. Then they said they needed to get an order from the doctor to give my son Tylenol for pain (good thing I had some with me to ease his pain). I understand kids cant stay still and things like this do happen but it should have never gotten to that stage! Worst experience ever and never going back to ORMC
ZERO STARS IN MY BOOK!
My dad died due the horrible doctor he had some of the nurses where great but it was like a stock yard in arrived one day 2 CCU and found my dad with his hospital gown around his neck and laying naked halfway on the bed with the nurses desk right across from him and people just walking by like they couldn't see him as I tried 2 get him back on the bed I couldn't get any help when they finally came in they were rude. My dad died because his doctor prescribed Plavix after heart surgery it caused stomach hemorrhage, when the bleeding finally was stopped and his inside were full of ulcers he still wanted 2 give it 2 him we had 2 place a note on his wall with his signature refusing this medicine, had he payed attention 2 his medical history he would have know that my dad had a previous surgery on his intestines and that giving plavix only agitated his intestines. He went for a fiber had 4 bypasses, when the surgeon came out to the waiting room he said he did okay considering what we had 2 work with. My opinion they r just out 4 the money there, we kept receiving a bill after he died that we paid, we called and called, they turned it over 2 collection don't go there.
Really bad hospital... But yes they charge me to do nothing to my boyfriend took a long time to even attend us!!! Would not recomend
