Odda Camping Review

Over crowded. Lines for bathrooms, lines to wash dishes, wait an hour for a shower. Dirty and outdated bathrooms, showers and kitchen. The room is new but barebones. And it is so crowded people will be standing outside your door and window at all times of day. There are only 3 bathrooms and 3 showers for hundreds of people. Feels like staying in a bad hostel. On top of that, they were doing construction during the day both days I was there and removed floorboards from the front door when I was still staying in the room.

Although very well located, but helpless overcrowded, no designated parking spaces, too few bathrooms, these could be quiet sometimes renewed ... No atmosphere, of course, a bit expensive. Unfortunately there are alternatives near the Trolltunga.

Great place to stay when you want to walk the Trolltunga hike. Showers and toilets are new and good. 20 NOK to shower, but hey, that's not too expensive. It's a cosy campground with a stunning view! You have to come early with a caravan, otherwise it's full. Campers and tents have more places to stay. We definitely come back!

Beautifully located, fully equipped camping, but because of the proximity of the Troll's tongue there is very crowded.

Nice, midsized camping site close to town with a stunning view over the lake and mountains. The site had just extended its range of facilities with more cabin rooms and youth hostel rooms (all in fresh, Scandinavian style, own fridge) with nice showers however these were rather expensive with 20 NOK. The reception desk also had a little shop with food and other useful things. Lots of good information about hiking opportunities, the hazards of the hiking trips, organizational advice and organized trips to the mountains. The kitchen had all facilities needed of a camper. Prices are mid-range for Norway and ok considering the level of tourist attraction of Odda. Would definitely go back there for a stay.

Poor customer service. We gave notice of a motorhome that parked right in front of our tent and took our parking when we were on tour. They said they would fix it but did not. Crowded with people, Little communal kitchen and far too few toilets / showers when there were so many people. No water other than in the main house (which we found) and never hot water in the sink.
They wanted 3m between the tents at check-in but in the afternoon when people arrived there were tents almost on top of each other and chaos with parking.

Nice place near the water and starting point if you are going on a trip to eg the troll tongue.

Stayed here for 3 nights with a tent and really enjoyed my time. Very nice tent spots near the lake and a nice atmospheres. You come here to go hiking, there is basically nothing else to do, so do expect people waking up at 6 in the morning.

Toilets and showers were crowded and quite dirty though.

I don't understand some of the reviews, what do you expect? A fancy hotel?
This is a nice campground in a very busy area. Price is ok, paying for hot water in this area normal and considering how many people use the bathrooms/showers they were very clean. There is a kitchen and a drying room which is a plus.

Even for hot dishwashing water you have to pay! Rate adjusted in preseason. Tidy further

I was a bit after season, there was no any queues ;) the place was really clean and people really kind. The best place for sleeping before trolltunga. Also there is a bus stop for shuttle bus ;) I highly recommend

A decent camping in the beautiful location with standard prices, but you can't reserve a pitch before so it gets really crowded. Nice and helpful staff.

Cleanliness leaves something to be desired. Sanitary facilities, kitchen dirty. Parking for campers impossible. We do not drive this place anymore.

Nicely situated campsite. Just a pity that the campsite is completely packed with tents in the evening. Every free centimeter is entered.

Rooms are alright, seems clean. Bed linens are provided as well. What I didn't appreciate was that you had to pay NOK 20 for just 5 minutes of hot water. I think that's way too expensive for too short a duration.

Fantastic swimming spot! There is a jetty but the stones along the seafront are recommended!

It is in a beautiful place, it is short of facilities for the amount of people it accepts. The spaces are not respected

Odda Camping spoil life!
We went to stay overnight with our converted bus. Very nice staff!
Good bus connection to Trolltunga.
And we didn't find it overpriced at all, rather very cheap!
If we do a tour like this again, we would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Nice campsite on the water. It is still a km or 10 from the town so if you are with a camper, make sure you do your shopping first. You also have to be on time because from half past two the caravans and campers come in and at around 6 o'clock the campground is full ... with a tent you have more chance of place ... it leaves from the campground a bis to the troll tongue. Make a reservation in advance because otherwise the bus is full, especially in high season. There is a reception where they sell some groceries and ice cream and soft drinks. At the end of the day it is very busy and all campers, caravans and tents are very close to each other because there are no defined places and everyone is allowed to stand where they want ... but otherwise great camping.

We stayed here spontaneously because we walked the next day on the Trolltunga. The campsite was completely overcrowded. But that's the way it is there. In any case, nothing in the evening! There is free Wi-Fi. Unexpensive. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Walk on the Trolltunga as early as possible!

Little equipment for the price ... It's 100e a night and you don't have anything in the room. If you have the same "luck" as us, your room shares the entrance with the shower and the bathroom ...

This is one of the rarities that gives me such a bad grade. Had it not been for corona time, it could have looked very different, but chaos in the place is my experience and infection control after 9 pm is 0. The alcohol is hidden and several of the toilets are closed. The weather gods have also not been kind to mud baths, probably several of the roundabout places are called. Branneutiner? Forget it. Here stands one like herring in a barrel. Star is for power to work. All in all, with the price included, it almost feels like a robbery that a night at a picnic area would have been better as it is now. To owner as you read this. All hope is not lost. The place gar potential. Greetings to someone who has worked at a campsite.

Wonderful structure suitable for hosting hikers for Trolltunga! Kind and welcoming managers. Normal price.

One of the most expensive ones visited, and then one expects much better standard than what was experienced.
TVs that no one had to find out of links themselves (after complaint we were told that there should not really be TVs in the cabins), poorly equipped kitchen, furniture that had the effect of being bought at use sales. Even something that was easy as a soap cup in the shower was missing. Queue at reception, only one person.
Clearly floats on lack of competition in a popular tourist area.
The website lacks prices, but std. cabin costs 1190, - and the assessment is done according to the price level.

Some hilarious campers to watch while eating dinner! Nice lawns to tent on.

Sanitary buildings ok, warm water in the showers cost extra. Drying room and washing maschine and a small kitchen, sitting area could be bigger. Situated quite nicely at water with a nice view on the fjord - if you get one in the front.
Was packed to the limit in the beginning of August.

Basicly a big parking lot with some facilities. Don't expect to much. The rooms you can rent are very small.

Quite Ok to be a campsite in Norway, we stayed in the rooms in the main building in connection with the walk to Trolltungan. The distance to the trail is short and it takes about 20 min to P2 (Parking below the mountain). The beds were comfortable and bedding was included in the price. There were two bathrooms in the corridor but they were often occupied by people duchsde. One big minus was that you had to pay with coins to shower, when should Norway start using digital means of payment ... The kitchen was in pretty good condition but lots of utensils were taken so bring it with you! One plus was that there was free Scotch and that the front desk had a decent well-stocked kiosk. If you want an accommodation close to Trolltungan then I recommend Odda Camping!

Great view of the lake. Sanitary facilities were not good. (20 K / 5 min for the shower). Mobile home 300 K for the night. It is possible to empty the toilet cassette. Likewise gray water and fresh water. Many people. Kitchen utensils are to be lent against pledge.

Decent space for a decent sum but too many people in too little space and too many of the facilities are closed or worn.

Camping located in a nice place, but very many people because it is the closest to Trolltung. I recommend arriving in the afternoon to find a convenient place to pitch a tent.

Worst night I had on my life at Odda camping. The room had some kind of bugs, I woke up multiple times in the night with bites. In the morning, finally I had over 40 bites all over my body. The reception lady could not care less, she said I am the first one to complain and she will check. I asked about nearest chemist or doctor. Again the same response you are the first one to complain. I don't know anything

For what you get, an expensive campsite even in Norway.
The location is absolutely beautiful, but internet is only accessible in a small radius around the reception.
Quite annoying when it is wet and cold.

Very nice and small campsite in a scenic area, a short way to several attractions

Am here for the second time and disappointed toilets and showers are dirty. After a short rain shower the course looks like a tank training area. In the first row there is only one outdated socket bollard and the others are in a very questionable condition. For 300 nkr (2pers.) Showers and extra washing the place is clearly overpriced.

Shit and syphilis. Dirt and stench. I advise against all, avoiding a wide arch.

We spent a whole week here. We had a cottage for four people,but there were two of us.
The cottage is very clean and cozy. Clean bed and bathroom. Comfortable pillows and warm blankets.
The kitchen has all kitchen utensils. The bathroom had a warm floor, and the main room has heating. It was warm and dry.
The view from the window was stunning. The location of the houses is ideal. It was very quiet and peaceful.
Excellent wi-fi.
The staff is very friendly and polite.
Cleaning in the room, we did our own, there is nothing complicated in this.
We all really liked it! We will come back again!

You have to look for a long time for a clutter shop like Odda camping. There was no control over the pitches cars motorhomes caravans and tents were thrown where the owner now wanted. this trip with 350 kr for one night and 20 kr for a bath. So we certainly don't run into that space anymore. So a sour smile here from

First off it's a beautiful spot. Some nice views of the lake and surrounding mountains. That's about where the good ends. They pack people in here like sardines. They specifically state that tents should be 3 meters from each other but as the night progressed we had tents pitched inches from out tent. I had a great view so I could live with it. That being said they have like 4 bathrooms with a few stalls each for said packed campground with over 100 campers. It would be an awesome place if they turned people away. Save your 250 nok which is waaaaay over priced for the conditions they allow and go find a nice wild spot. Might have to skip the shower and wifi, but I wish I was out of this pit now not writing this review.

Busy campsite with many hikers for the Buarbreen, Folgefonna and Trolltunga. And the usual camper and caravan travelers. There are also rental apartments without cooking and washing facilities. This happens in the main building where there is also a kitchen and washing machine.

Full to very full. The sanitary facilities are scarce and not always clean because of the overcrowding. Is very nice on the lake. Ideal as a starting point for the tour to trolltunga.

Beautiful place, only a lot of backpackers so busy in the evening and busy in the morning. Not to much toilets and showers. There is a lot to do in the surrounding.

We had a cabin, which is supposedly suitable for 4 people, but it was very close. Especially the sleep was not relaxing, because two people had to sleep on a folded couch, and because it was so tight. The price is too high for that.
Otherwise everything was okay (handling, cleanliness etc.).

Much too expensive, everything costs extra. Example: washing machine 40 crowns, dryer 40 crowns, so wash clothes once 80 crowns. Who now thinks "I'll save the money, I'll wash my laundry by hand, shit, hot water also costs 20 kroner, even for washing up you have to pay 20 kroner if you want hot water.
The parking space itself is the most expensive so far, with 300 kroner for a small caravan with electricity.
The place is completely overcrowded and for so many guests there are too few sanitary facilities. The mini kitchen also only has 2 sinks. After 8 p.m. you have to be patient if you want to clean yourself, even sinks are in short supply. Small secret tip, if you want some privacy you can use the disabled toilet, but the rule is also: first come, first served.
So, now something positive, the place is well located, but the operators can't get the plus point, but the nature of Norway.

This place is one big queue. To the reception, to the sink, to the toilet, to the shower, to the sink. The campsite itself is not bad, but it is definitely too small for the amount of people that go to it. Shower 20 crowns for 5 minutes, good wifi, sanitary facilities a bit dirty but what's surprising with such crowds. There is also a refrigerator at your disposal, an oven, electric cookers - no extra charge.

Can you visit the walks nearby. Unfortunately not such a mega CP. View great plumbing equipment not the hammer

Quiete expensive and the shared bathrooms aren't very clean.. Toiletpaper was often empty and you mostly had to stay in line to wash your dishes.. Nice view to a lake and the stuff was nice.

The coolest beautiful and cozy campsite with a beautiful view of the lake. Password from Wi-Fi Cabin2015 shower 20 CZK. Always a lot of people come before that, to score a place. In the shower it is better to come earlier so that hot water would remain.

Nice place. A little feature for some poor sanitary facilities, especially cleaning and accessibility and long stretch to power outlets (fully booked when we were guests).

Actually a very nice place, but that is over at the latest in the evening. Although the place is already full, more guests are still being recorded. All intermediate spaces are used and paved with parked cars and tents. Neither the existing toilets nor the showers or sinks suffice. This results in chaotic states. In addition, showers and toilets were not cleaned the whole day and looked pretty nauseating.

Who is on Kuschelcamping eternal snakes in front of the scullery and toilets, is right here. During the holidays, this campsite is totally overcrowded. You really have to be there early to get a seat. If you have a tent and need electricity, a very long extension cable (> 20m) is required. In addition, 500 crowns for a tent and 4 people are too expensive. The good thing about the campsite ??? Nothing!!!!

A nice campsite right on the water. The toilets and showers have just been rebuilt or renewed. We were 2 days here. From here you can hike to the big glacier. A great hike, but with many very difficult stages. Since then it goes with the rope steeply upwards.
But the view is definitely worth it.
