Service was great and had a rook available for a last minute reservation after my first one failed to impress. My 21st birthday went better than planned here. The beach view was amazing.

Helpful staff, beautiful room, loved the pool and location was the best! Right in the heart of all the action/nightlife. Loved the complimentary Fiji water! We will stay here next time we come back. Great value for the price!

Arrived in room as soon as I cut the light switch on 2 roaches were spotted. Contacted front desk, they advised they were putting us in another room however, we wouldn't be able to have access to our balcony! What was the purpose of an ocean view if I'm unable to access the balcony that comes as a room feature? Very dissatisfied!

Really gone down hill past 10 years. Badly damaged by hurricanes but really in need of updating. Lifts are scary and rooms are exactly the same as 10 years ago. I used to love this place but probably wouldnt visit again. Which is a shame.

They charge to much for rooms to small pain coming out the door even cable was coming out the A / C .If you go to stay here, you will be prepared for way up for 20 min oh 30 Min and Hotel still under construction for Hurricane damages that It happens like November from the year. Bad customer service.

Hotel charge too much for their room the rooms are sticky and the paint on the walls and bathroom all ugly. When I entered my room, the air cables were all over the floor. The Coje elevators up to the people who clean can practically spend 20 minutes waiting for an elevator, customer service of the worst and the Hotel is still under construction after the hurricane damage of November 2016 so much money that they take one out and they are still regulating

As of March 2015, this hotel was amazing, all previous negative reviews should be removed as they are irrelevant. Our room, had a perfect oceanfront view, two nice comfortable beds, complimentary Voss water, and a nice kitchen type area.

The beach access was nice and very useful, and the valet was very kind. The guys at the front desk were very cool, offering to deliver my father's phone to our room when it was left in the car during valet service.

The TV was really nice, a decent size, around 42 inches I'd want to say, cones with most if not all channels and a great on demand service.

Tl;Dr No complaints, great valet service, amazing people at the front desk, super nice view, comfy beds, nice tv.

We had a great time and experience at the Plaza Resort. Our room and the hotel were very clean and all the staff are very nice and are happy to help. Lee activity coordinator was very nice at the pool with her activities and Ice cream bar and with them being short of umbrellas she made sure we had one. The front desk and house keeping were also very nice . Some areas of the hotel needed repair from the Hurricane that pasted through last September the only thing we did not like was the food in the restaurant it was bland for our taste but the staff was great. We had great views a studio room with great ocean view. The room was on the corner so we had 2 balconies so when you open the curtains it was like having a panoramic view.

Went there for a family reunion. They have a poolside bar and is a few steps from the ocean. Next door there's construction but you can't hear anything. They have indoor dining and a gift shop.

I couldn't imagine how anyone could leave a negative review on The Plaza Resort & Spa. Our trip to Daytona Beach didn't start off very well, as the hotel we booked nearby had over booked, and we had no place to stay. While panicked, at 9:00 at night, sitting in a parking lot with hungry kids in the back seat, I stumbled upon The Plaza Resort & Spa. Amy in reservations was AMAZING, and did everything to accommodate us, including affordability. Too good to be true, right?! Within minutes we were booked and on our way over to The Plaza. Upon arriving, I knew my fiasco of a night was a blessing in disguise. While checking in, Hien at the front desk was just as amazing. He worked his "magic" by shifting bookings around and got us a room with oceanview with balcony. The complimentary valet parking and the bell service were quick and just as helpful unloading all of our belongings and getting us to our room. Nice, clean and peaceful....Thank you The Plaza Resort & Spa!!!

Great staff and service the rooms are nice but the furniture needs an update its all got some cracks on it like the night stand can barely stand and coastal view room has more view of the city than the coast. Would been alot more worth it if it was a bit cheaper

This is a historic hotel in Daytona beach. The building is old but that's part of the charm. Definitely ask for the history brochure. The room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom in the standard room is small but considering the historical building I expected things to be less expansive and modern than a new hotel. The staff was absolutely delightful. They were all friendly and helpful and made us feel at home. They have complimentary valet. The location is perfect. It's a very short walk to the boardwalk and shops on the beach. There is construction going on throughout the building. They gave us a drink credit for the inconvenience. I would like to visit once the construction is complete.

I used the spa services while at the Plaza. The massage was amazing and the staff were welcoming and friendly. However the facilities are getting a bit old. The jacuzzi and steam room are great amenities, however they need some TLC and renovation. All in all it was a great experience.

I'll start off by saying the housekeepers and a FE...

I'll start off by saying the housekeepers and a FEW staff members were very kind and attentive. The oceanfront view is great.
But:
- There are fees they don't tell you about. A lot of them.
They charge you parking PER NIGHT for one additional vehicle.
When my father spoke to the lady at the front desk that night to receive the extra parking pass, she conveniently forgot to mention that detail. She was extremely rude as well. We didn't treat her in ANY manner that would warrant that kind of behavior. I didn't get her name, however, she had black hair, was white and heavy set. If your staff is having a bad day, please don't allow them to interact with the guests.

- Our room didn't have a balcony light that worked or a patio table. When we kindly asked for one (from the same rude front desk attendant) she ignored our request. We didn't bother asking again, considering it wasn't imperative, but rather a minor inconvenience. It wasn't because they were busy and forgot, that would be understandable. The place was quiet.

- If you decide to book through a third party, the third party charges you the resort fee($22 a night) BUT so does the hotel (another $22 plus tax).
Our hotel experience doesn't justify them charging another $150 on top of what they already charged when we booked.

- Hotel is going under construction. We were aware of this when we booked, but we didn't expect them to work during the holidays. Loud drills at 8am during holidays? I called front desk the night before to check considering it was the holidays, and one of the nicer attendants told me "no, the construction workers don't work the holidays."
Please keep your staff well-inform so this kind of miscommunication doesn't happen to anyone else. At least this attendant was nice.

- Cherill, another front desk attendant, was very kind and friendly during check out.

Needless to say, we won't be returning. Good luck.

Be careful and watch your credit card bill. I stayed here as part of a group, sharing a room. I was charged up front for the first night lodging when I made the reservation months in advance. My roommate paid her half when we checked out and I now have a charge on my card.
No phone number to call and research what they charged me for.
Really frustrated

This was a very nice hotel. The staff was incredibly nice and organized, the view was decent (half street half oceanview), and the room was comfortable. The only problem I had was that the bathroom was a little small, but nothing too major. I would recommend this place for maybe a weekend at the most but would be too cramped for any longer than that.

The hotel hotel is still under construction and I ...

The hotel hotel is still under construction and I almost turned around, which they do give that option not to check and get your deposit back. I thought that was very thoughtful of them. They also have a "Under construction party for 1 hour everyday during the week. I book an ocean view room and received a city view. Ms. Cora at the front desk, immediately got me into a ocean view and better room. Also when we arrived and was the parking lot, Ms. Cora welcomed us and said let her know if we need anything and I could she was on break of some sort. The view was great, pool stayed open late and was heated!! The reasons why I gave 4 over 5, is the bathroom was extremely small and the hallways always had food trays outside the rooms until the next day. My balcony only had one chair but they immediately brought a 2nd one up. And the pool bar closed by 5, I wish it had stayed open a little later in the evening. And the resort fees I thought was a bit much. Overall the staff was super friendly. I would definitely recommend it.

My husband and I stayed 3 days, 2 nights at this hotel thanksgiving weekend for a mini get away. We books about ocean view sweet with a jacuzzi. Check in was pretty smooth, as we arrived to the room we saw a dead roach in the bathroom. Immediately went downstairs to address and the front desk gave us a 50$ credit to use. They said they had no other ocean front rooms available and therefore couldn t change our rooms. We also had a bathroom that was wheelchair accessible so there was no shower curtain so water would get everywhere in you used it.

The view of the ocean was beautiful..we were on the 12 floor and could overlook the beach as well as pool area which was pretty nice. They had activities like bike riding which is free for the first hour. The jacuzzi was an added positive that we used frequently

I also used the spa services for additional cost. The spa is located in hotel at a lower level. I was able to use my credit towards it. It was very pleasant. Staff was great and the place was clean. My masseuse was amazing.. wish I remembered her name...

The bed was lumpy and the mattress cover had a tear in it... the pillows were pretty low quality was well. The room/furniture is pretty out dated.. wish they would renovate the area especially for the high price for the stay.

Overall had an okay stay but would not recommend this this to anyone. Not worth it for what your paying for.

I did a reservation for a king bedroom with ocean view and got a double bedroom. During the night, when were sleeping, a guy from housekeeping open the door and came in. I don t think 4am is the right time to come to a bedroom while people are sleeping. This is a big NO NO for me.

Went on Mother s Day weekend for a quick getaway from Ocala. The hotel was grossly understaffed which was clearly apparent when checking in. The lobby was overrun with people checking in and the wait was over thirty minutes. When we finally got up to the counter the associate said he was going to have the staff check if the room was clean and it would be awhile. This was 4:30pm when we were told this and the check in time was 4:00pm. We were given 2 free drink vouchers (one for each adult) and told to wait on the pool deck with all of our luggage and they would call us. At 6pm we got a call letting us know our room number. We were relieved to get into the room after the wait and unfortunately the elevator to our 11th floor room had about 20 people waiting to board and every elevator that came by was full. One of the elevators was out of service so it made the situation even worse. After finally getting an elevator we made it into our room about 6:30. The toilet had a smashed cockroach (pictured) on the toilet seat and the shower drain was clogged. Also, the door to the balcony had a 3-4 piece of carpet sticking up that could be a major tripping hazard. The entire stay was frustrating going up and down floors as the elevators were overrun with people. Several times myself, girlfriend and two kids opted for the stairs to and from floor 11. This weekend getaway turned into an unpleasant mess due to complications with the resort.

I want to say this hotel is wonderful. Sadly I can't. The line at reception was close to hell. Waited almost an hour to check in only to be told rooms would not be available until 4pm. Other people received keys to rooms, but we did not. This was at 2pm.
We then had to get back into line at 4pm to actually get room keys. It was ridiculous.
The elevators were not fit for purpose. Three small elevators for 14 floors. Apparently the staff elevators are not working and they are using the guest ones, meaning guests are left to wait for them for a very long time.
Maintenance needs to be done throughout the hotel. There are lots of damp and peeling areas in Reception and it's quite unsightly.
Rooms are lovely, and the kitchen and balcony is great, but it looks like the staff can't cope with the number of guests.

We stayed in room 634, the hotel was clean the water was a little too hot. But overall a fine place to stay. One of our companions passed away on our trip just prior to check in. The hotel was very compassionate and went the extra mile to try to make the weekend as nice as possible considering the circumstances.

Location is the only good part about this hotel. Besides the location, the hotel is older and more run down there are newer hotels closer by. They also are very disorganized as far as checking into your room, and resort fees and refunding you for you deposits. Especially if you book online through a third party. The second room I checked into didn't even have a working phone or TV? But I was there for work so I ignored it, but overall next time I'm in town will be staying at a hotel with better organizational skills. Employees were nice, just seemed very confused all the time.

Very spacious and Luxurious hotel, heated pool, gym, a small market place for needed items, a very nice in lobby restaurant, and a bar, everything you could ask for when looking to have a relaxing and nice place to stay. The room was more than expected, very clean, and very large, had a living room area with a flat screen big TV, a little complete kitchen with sink, microwave and refrigerator, and a bedroom with 2 beds and another big screen TV. This hotel has a lot of historical value, going back to 1888 and the lobby alone has many things to glance at, very upclass-like. Staff was helpful and pleasant and for this price you will be hard pressed to find any better. I will be staying again when I am in Daytona.

Pros: the view from an ocean front or ocean view room is perfect and exactly what we were looking for. The valet was complimentary and was always prompt, even when they were busy. The breakfast buffet was good, probably not worth $14 a person, but not bad.

Cons: the check in process was utterly chaotic. They originally gave us a room, we brought all of our stuff to it and we're relaxing when we received a call saying that they accidentally gave us the wrong room and that we had to move. They didn't offer any compensation or really any explanation for the initial mistake. They then attempted to move us to another room which did not have a view, which wasn't what we paid for in the first place. They then told us that we could pay an additional $20 a night to have a room with a view. Pretty frustrating.

I stayed one night with my SO looking for sexy time and beach, unfortunately this hotel is in bad shape (because of Matthew), they only had one guy for the valet so once you check in, you'll have to wait. Room was very clean and the bed was fine and quiet (if you know what i mean). the staff was very friendly

This is by far the top Daytona experience. However there was Construction going on on the 5th and 6th floor balconies due to hurricane damage. The hotel aplogized for the noise during the midday and gave us free hors d'oeuvres and cheap wine and choice of beer for our patience. The portion of the beach occupied by the Plaza is off limits to cars. Nice! And the cars can park about 50 yards away on the beach. Great location, great service.

Stayed at the plaza recently in Jan of 2018. Was assured of specific rates. Hotel deal on their own website clearly states stay 3 nights, get the 4th free.....Plaza not only charged me more than the agreed rate which they had to write by hand because their computers were down when checked in... No one says a word. Check out..... Ask invoice be emailed.. It ends up to be about 40% more than what was supposed to he billed to our credit card. In fact, there were 6 charges. They never honored the rate or offer. Charged double resort fees on one night. When checking out I only received 2 invoices out of what made iys way up to 6 with one stating it was from the Pink Shell Marina Resort in Ft. Myers. I was forced to close the credit card account as it seemed charges kept coming and unwarranted. I called to resolve this and was told they were too busy. The same person called back in the eve...explained situation... Stated I would have to speak with a manager.... But asks I make the call.....I asked kindly that he pass this on to the manager and have the Manager call me.. The Manager calls the next afternoon.... States has to investigate the invoicing... One would think this would of been done before calling...... No return call to date...Stayed at the Hilton previously on the strip.... Never an issue... And will be where we now stay when booking in Daytona Beach...They played no games and actually upgraded our room. Exceptional service which definitely earned our future business....Question remains... What if the bill wasn't checked for errors? We are talking 4 or more errors...many very obvious like double resort fees or not honoring hotel specials. And it amounted to over 500.00 in erroneous charges... That is outright theft.... My advice... Check your bill when you check out and then your credit card transactions for several days because if I didn't, this hotel would of walked away with what is adding up to be 3x's what should of been billed (prior to closing account) and the bills just kept coming. That to me is not a mistake....looks intentional....My advise, go back and check your credit card transactions and make sure they add up!!! As for me...I'll stay with Hilton. It appears and ended up to be that the hotels with just the one location were terribly dishonest and less than cooperative to resolve outstanding issues.

This hotel was nice, however I was charged a totally different price then what my reservation price stated. At check-in we was told that our parking was already taken care of with the reservation. Had I not asks for a receipt at check out I would have not known that I was been charge an additional 28 dollar for parking. I ask the clerk about the charges and was told parking is not included. I think this is just a way to charge another parking fee.
I reserve an Ocean view but got a partial Ocean view partial street view. The hotel is a a thief so please request a receipt so that you know what you're being charged.

Good location, clean and had nice views. Horrible service!!!!! Two hours later.... Still no room service. No clean towels at the pool. Never a service person around when needed. We are staying during an event weekend so it's busy but the hotel should be staffed accordingly. Will not be staying again with a large group.
