Ober Gatlinburg Reviews

Nowhere near proper covid precautions taken. Overcrowded, masks not encouraged - was even told "you don't need that here" by one lift operator. Sanitizer hard to find, and Octoberfest was more october than fest. The alpine slide was fun, but wasn't comfortable enough to stay after that.

Had a good time I do not recommend the mountain coaster at all if you have small kids or even alone for that matter parts of it you are sideways and feels like your going to come off the thing. Will come to ober again but won't do the coaster no more.

Food was ok. Lift to the top was cool and worth doing plenty of shoes and stuff for kids and the winter activities too

Fun little tourist trap to hang out with your family, great views the Alpine slides are always a hit with the kids, and who doesn't like to I skate in the middle of summer? Only downside is the make you pay for parking in addition to everything else you have to pay for...but a fun game lace for smaller kids.

I visited Ober Gatlinburg a day or so ago with my family of varying ages. Needless to say, the whole experience was a little lackluster. All the employees were pleasant. I think it would be a very beautiful attraction to visit during the winter months. However, for the summer months, it doesn't feel like it's catered to the crowd as much.

Not only did we have a fantastic time riding the mountain coaster, but the operators were able to locate my iPhone and two credit cards that slipped out of my pocket on the ride. They were returned safely to me the following day! I can t thank them enough!!

Tram ride up to the top of the mountain was nice - great views of Gatlinburg and the mountains.

Went here in 2014. The first time going on the sky lift was good experience.

I love Ober Gatlinburg! The ride provides a great view of the surrounding area. There is a quaint area to shop and activities.

Horrible horrible place. We waited over an hour to get into the place at 10am when it states on the website that the alpine rides open. We get there and they say alpine slides won t open until noon. There was light to barely any rain the night before so there s no excuse. We are on vacation and have a tight schedule to do the things we d like to do. I also own a business and if I state I m going to do something at a certain time, I honor it, otherwise I deserve to get bad reviews just like Ober is getting right here. Now I m out $60 bc ALL THEIR SALES ARE FINAL. This place is a joke. I would not recommend to anyone unless you have money and time to give away.

Very fun! We went snow tubing and more! The tram was also a blast to ride and all the workers were so nice and helpful

Blew snow all day when trying to ski...but will be good for the people who come the next day. Customer service and polite attitudes we're everywhere.

Lost my camera on ski lift, and they were able to find four me. JOHN was his name. Great staff

Lovely place... don't eat at the snack bar tho...not good

This used to be my favorite place to go while in the area a couple times a year. This time the kids playground area was locked for two entire days. This is why we come. My daughter needs something to do while the bigger kids ride the attractions. She was very upset and she is still too short for moat anything else. The carousel does not intertain her and neither do the slow cars outside. She is too old for those. I'm, this place needs to just be closed in the summer. Nothing to do especially when it rains and everything is shut down. The weather was so nice the day we were there and still nothing much was open. This place has gone downhill.

Ober Gatlinburg showed us a good time. The tram ride up and down the mountain was beautiful, and we enjoyed the skating rink! We had a good time here, but had two separate employees fuss at us for things that we felt were unnecessary. If not for those bad employee attitudes we would have rated this higher.

It was a good fun filled day for the entire family. Everything is just so expensive.

The wildlife part on top of the mountain is terrible! The living areas for the animals are very small, outdated, dirty, etc. It seems like no effort is done to create a bit of a natural habitat for the bears and other animals.

The ride up and down was my favorite part. But there is some cool things to do at the top of the mountain. Ice skating and some other fun things.

Under 5 was free...the ticket up was cheap enough...do the chair lift!!!! That was breathtaking. In hindsight we would not have done thw wrist bands. Our 3 year old didnt rife that much. I recommend!

Many attractions were closed, poor value, probably much better in the winter.

I like going to watch people ski even though I can't ski. They also have Ice skating restaurant and shops

The ride up the mountain in the tram is nice but a separate cost from everything else. The scenic chairlift ride is really cool with a beautiful view at the top. The mountain coaster is pretty neat as well. The rest of place is a bit of a let down, although when you have kids under 5, the fact that they get to do most things for free is nice. Overall appearance makes it look like they haven't put money into upkeep and they probably should discount the wristband when not all rides are functional/open.

This is a tricky place to rate. Is it fun? Yes. Is it expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? Maybe. Yes it has some fun things to do, but you have to pay to take the ski lift up, or pay to park if decide to drive. Then each thing costs after that. Animal park is fun, but not cheap. Ice skating is, well ice skating. And the bumper cars are well, in a small area and short lived. My suggestion, if you have the money, make the trip once, but I wouldn't spend my money to go there multiple times. I've been here a couple and each time is more disappointing than the last.

Love seeing the bears and otters. All the attractions are great up in Ober Gatlinburg!!!

Excellent place to go for people who love to be outside and also for people who love to be inside. The chairlift ride was wonderful.

Awesome place to go ice skating for beginniners and mountain coaster is really fun

Too carnival like now, not like it used to be. And splitting the ice ring so you can have "ice bumper cars "was a stupid idea.

Nice but $170 for a family of 5 and they shut down for light rain with no refund.

We enjoyed the ride. Be prepared for goofy dad jokes by your guide. If you appreciate corky then you ll enjoy the small jokes. It was about a 10 minute trip but it will be a lifetime of memories.

My kids had a blast. I had to leave my dog in the car. Many people travel with there let a d or would make for more business of they would allow leashed pets and a clean up station.

I don't hate this i enjoy being there it is a beautiful place to visit my family like it very much they had a alot of fun there

I have always loved taking the Tram up the mountain. They have added so many attractions in Ober Gatlinburg. The only disappointment is that some of the attractions have an additional cost and is not always feasible for families on vacation. Tram ticket are $14 you can by a wristband for a decent price around $40 (much better than paying $3.50 a ticket),but the Skycoaster ($15) and a couple other things have additional cost. There should be an option that if you buy the wristband you get one ride of the premium items included.

First every person visiting Gatlinburg should experience the Ober tram. The most amazing views you can imagine. Then treat yourself to OctOBERfest - delicious meal! I strongly encourage you to take the ski lift to witness the next best view at 3500 elevation. Relax and listen to the Mountain Grass band. Super staff- ask for Harmon!!!

Most attractions were closed, some of which did not depend on weather. The coaster and the scenic view were great.

I really enjoyed the tram. We went up to another mountain 2300 ft. It took a while to get back down to the ground because the line was so long. You should go up early to spend a few hours up there

Ice skating was great! The snow tubing was already booked up, so schedule ahead if you are wanting to do this!

Rainy. Paid our money, went up to find out everything is closed. They should of told us all or most outdoor stuff was closed before buying tickets.

Lots of skiing, snow boarding, tubing and indoor ice skating ..rent gear and clothes...

Prices over the roof, food ok waiting time up to 2 hours not sure if it is always like this. No matter what activity you want to do you have to pay for it.

This is a must stop. Just do it it is worth it. Just AWESOME.

As a firefighter this was a great getaway and time to spend with my family. We will be back again

They had a super cool one person roller coaster that went through the mountains and you get to control how fast you go. Raven though it's one person per buggy you can go with your family you will just all be following behind each other. Great views, food, shops and can even go snow sledding since they have a snow machine.

Thought I was going for the view. Had a blast with everything up there.

You can see where the fire did its toll, plus where they had to cut down the damaged or burned trees. The good part is you can also see the rebuilding knowing that Gatlinburg will return.

Beautiful views from the tram ride. Activities at the top are more kid oriented but fun to look around and have a quick bite to eat.

An awesome, fun filled family time. You must try the sky coaster and the tubing while here. They are a blast. And probably the best value in the Smokies!

I'm sure it's fun during the winter. But during the off season, it's not worth the money or effort. Most of the stuff inside the main building and the main building itself is very dated. It needs to be updated. Badly. The arcade on the top floor is like a museum. The "amusement" park outside is pitiful. This place needs a major investment put into it. Lots of potential wasted.
