Very disappointing. The food quality is no where near as good as it used to be. Wilted lettuce and triple cooked chips that aren't. Prawn salad that looked as though they were raw. We used to have great meals there, alas, no more!
Having said that the quality of service, as usual, was excellent.

Went in for a meal with my other half and his boy, ordered steak and salad and 2 double burgers, my salad came in a tiny side dish that was next to nothing especially for the price we paid, the chips were over cooked and had to wait 45minutes. Disappointed

I had the mixed grill with the 8oz steak supplement. The food itself was teally nicely prepared but it didn't come out hot enough. Also the salad was a bit of a small portion.
I think I would go back but would want it to be hot.

Just had a family meal here and was very disappointed. The food was good however there was plastic packaging of some kind in my mixed grill. We asked for no whipped cream in the desert and the (miserable) waitress confirms our order but we got it anyway, when we reminded the unhappy waitress (corrine) she tells us she didnt hear us say it even though she repeated the order back to us. overall good food (minus the inedible extras). Poor service from waitrass it doesnt cost to smile and look like you give a damn.

The music far too loud. Food good but spoilt by having to ask for the music to be turned down several times. At least in the end they turned it off they we could hear ourselves speak. We were the only ones in that section. Rather odd?

My husband and I have been regulars at the Oast and Squire for many years and the meals have never disappointed us.

We have been back twice recently since relaxation of the Covid lockdown rules and have been very disappointed with the quality of the steak. On both occasions the steak, rump and sirloin, have been really chewy and gristly and impossible to cut. The lamb chops served on my husband's mixed grill this evening were extremely fatty and inedible.

Overall it feels like the standards are dropping although the prices have increased and the menu selection has been radically reduced.

By the way, this is no reflection on the waiting staff who do a really good job.

Always so good here. The team always accommodate anything and go above and beyond. Food is also decent and waiters and waitresses are knowledgeable about the food and recommend dishes with honesty.

We arrived 1pm and ordered. By 1.45 there was no sign of our food. My daughters food was then brought out. The peas were dried up, the cod bites had the tiniest amount of cod in them. My husbands steak was well done when he asked for More

Place was great but the food was not up to the usual beefeater standard. Both steaks were grissley and tough and the potato and veg with my salmon was hard and cold. Good job we had 40% off as might have complained. Good meeting place and staff were great.

bad

Sunday Roast was a joke , half roast chicken came out as grilled chicken breast and we wasn't told. Changed it to lamb and they brought a small bit of lamb on a small plate.
Beef tiny portion. I left a tip as I think it's the chef that probably needs shooting.
Next time it's off down the Toby for a better Sunday roast.

I enjoyed the times I have been here. I have now both been in the drinks bar and the dining areas. The food quality is good and service time is fair. Prices are about what you would expect for a pub with catering. And overall staff are friendly and accomodating

We booked their Christmas night out for 8 in October. Arrived on the night to confused staff who couldn't find the booking, unset table with the crackers thrown in the middle . We did a fantastic waitress and the food was bbc lovely. They tried to charge extra for a dish when there was no indication of this on their booking form, this was removed when we pointed this out. A little disorganised but very friendly

What a lovely mean. A polite greeting, very accommodating on seating. Food hot and fresh, portion sizes were average. My only criticism is too much crumble in the toffee Apple crumble...

Good food, excellent service with a smile which makes a pleasant change. The prices are very good value for money. Would reccomend booking a table if you are going on a Friday or Saturday evening.
