Food is good but must say it sometimes takes a while to arrive

Not brilliant, went for an Xmas meal the food even though pre ordered took 1.5hrs to come once seated, main was cold and we gave up and left before pudding. Won't be going again

Decent food from their saver menu. Steaks cooked perfectly and chips (refillable!) were seasoned nicely but the spiced seasoned ones are sadly missed

Wonderful. Service from James. Fillet steak was lush. Enjoyed our meal will. Defo be back and highly recommend

Meals not right , cold and over cooked . Not the best

My food was ok but it took over an hour after we ordered too come, in which time no one came up to us to tell us how long it would be or why we were waiting. My sister ordered a Caesar salad that came out as just leaves with dressing, and a small bit of chicken. We checked the menu on line afterwards and it should have included cheese & croutons as well. My dads steak was medium, when he asked for well done. Someone did come to ask if everything was ok, but he had nearly finished his steak by then. Considering it was a Tuesday night, and didn't look particularly busy, not a great experience.

Avoid and go the Cuckoo Inn instead. Personel are despicable!!!

Meal lovely, very reasonable priced would recommend it for a casual evening

Friday early evening treat, for myself, wife and grandson we did not book and didn't have to wait for a table...my wife ordered pie and mash I had burger and skinny fries and grandson had sausage and mash when our food arrived my skinny More

Have been coming here for nearly 30 years! Love the food and as a coeliac (gluten free) there is plenty of choice. Staff are always helpful.

Quite pricey. Staff friendly. Bit dark inside too many partitions.

Not very impressed with recent experience here. Lasagne was tasteless and slop! Sweet potato chips looked done but were raw in the middle which tells me they rushed them. Lady who served us was lovely but the food was a big let down. Should have stayed at home.

Great company and good food this evening, even though they were really busy. And 40% off!

Food was good on the most part, but the service was slow with half the table sat around waiting for there food while the others ate due to there own food geting cold as we waited for everyone to be served. We then had to wait 10 mins before any of the codements asked for came. Then at the end of the meal having asked for the bill for 2 of us due to them needing to leave urgently was made to wait a further 10 mins. When asking the waitres if she could chase up were are waiter had gone to due are family needing to leave we were meet with rudeness and complete disregard. Overall it put a real down own the whole meal and giving we only get to meet our family once every 6 months due to living in yorkshire now i am thourghly disspointed in the service and the way we were treated.

Generally the food here is of a pretty good standard and the service is also very good as well.

Good evening spent here. Very good food and atmosphere. On return visit 3 weeks later we were not disappointed another great meal and friendly staff.

Went here with 5 others for my birthday.
As usual,the meals were delicious and staff very attentive.

Nice place, friendly staff, some decent food and generally a pretty good place to eat. Bit more expensive than the nearby Harvester, but not by much now that Harvester have changed their menu and got rid of their 'early bird' offers.
Started going there more regularly now - they got hooks of my email address somehow and seem to regularly send out money off vouchers which make the visits more affordable for a family on a budget...

I and my family have been regular customers of the Oast & Squire for a number of years now. I rarely drink alcohol, and I don't smoke. The only 'vice' I really could be said to have is that I like to have a nice cold 'full fat' Pepsi or Coca Cola whenever I eat a meal out.

I appreciate that the Government has instituted this ridiculous 'tax' on sugary drinks as a knee-jerk reaction to the number of obese people out there (but not on sweets, ice cream, sugary foods etc for some reason) and that as a result companies are required to charge more for sugary drinks, however...




This means that by keeping the price the same, but removing the refills, for someone like me who usually consumes - on average - 2 to 3 drinks during my meal, I'm actually paying 200 to 300% more than I previously would have for my drinks, which is clearly FAR more than the Government's required increase!

So, ignoring the fact that these drinks literally cost the company just pennies per glass anyway (consisting as they do of a tiny amount of syrup mixed with soda water) how can they justify gouging loyal customers in this way??

On the night, this proved to be obe of the better ones. Despite xmas dinner crowds the service was responsibly good and the food was good too. Yes we'll go back again.

Generally can't complain about this place however, tonight was not a good night for the kitchen. Main meals took a lifetime to arrive, which were either uncooked and cold or only a hint of heat remained. The waitress when called over to the table to ask for a replacement meal for the cold and uncooked one instantly asked "is it cold?". Clearly when she delivered it to our table she did so know that it was cold. Poor show. The bill was also incorrect. They were busy due to being half term but barely an apology was uttered for the catastrophy that was our evening meal. It will be a while before we come back that's for sure.

Never had a bad meal here, but without discount vouchers it would be quite expensive.

Very disappointing visit this week which is unusual. Very slow service, lasagne Luke warm and one of the steaks was very tough. We did mention it to the waiter but he needed training in customer service

Clean, great choice of food and drink and great attentive staff

Stinking attitude from first person who greeted us 15 mins after arriveing. Obvs dont like kids. Food very slow and cold on arrival

Wasted our time seating us in the bar only to tell us they were taking no more orders for food. Been there once and it was OK. Won't bother going again.

Staff very friendly and were lovely, but dissappointed with the food especially mine. Main meal of mushroom rissoto with chicken was awful such a shame when the atmosphere was fab. Would I recommend to a friend maybe try somthing different next time :(

Place was cold. Where we were sat it was (did make a comment on this but was passed off)

Good selection for meat eaters of reasonably priced hearty food. If you don't have vegetarians it's slightly better than the Harvester option. Nice for a few drinks and a family / colleague catch-up.

Had a unexpected Sunday lunch I was pleasantly surprised but the food and the service

we thought we would have a late lunch the waitresses did not smile the steaks were wrong , they were redone brought out again with in 12 minutes not long enough for them to be cooked and rested both were tough.asked if we wanted anything else by then lost instrest , we were told they would not charge us but when I complained to the manager he still charged us for two half shandys so in other word gave us nothing.not even a coffee was offered.
