Over the years I have been here lot. The menu and staff change but it is always good.
We had the roast lamb and it was lovely as was the rocky road sundae.
Watch out if you have money off vouchers, they love finding a way not to accept them. Even if you read the small print and it is valid, you probably won't be able to use it!

Nice fillet steak cooked to perfection though it was a long wait and not all the food was served to our table of six at the same time. Can definitely recommend the apple and BlackBerry crumble with custard, see picture

Unfortunately the Paprika Chicken very was overcooked on this occasion but it may be a one off occasion.

Very Covid safe environment. Food arrived fairly quickly, it was standard Beefeater fare so of a reasonable quality. Disappointed that the caramel apple Betty was not available and we were not informed of this until waitress was taking our order as I had worked out my main to work with that so had to change tack. Service was good but that and food needs to be a lot better to get 5 stars.

Dirty restaurant, cleaning is only a quick wipe over a table top, chairs, benches and everywhere hands go are left untouched. Orders come out different to what is on the menu and when told get a "oh well" attitude. Definitely steer clear of this dirty nasty establishment.

Pub with food & friendly staff, mid priced pub grub and decent beer, Not a gastro pub but then again its not gastro prices, good place for some snap and a few pints with your friends without breaking the bank.

Went for Christmas Dinner paid 54.99 each with two under, 12 at 19.99 table wasn't set up no festive anything a few rubbish crackers after asking for some. FOOD WAS DISCUSTING, PROCESSED TURKEY POTATOES WERE UNDER COOKED, veg none existent. Staff were rude and didn't care about how poor the food and service was.. Spent over 300 and had to go home and cook.. Never again ruined my Christmas. All my family came and were disappointed.........

It's a beefeater so you can always expect good food, been here quite a few times and it always seems very hit and miss with how busy it is. I normally ring for a table just to check. They also regularly have move off vouchers so it is worth signing up for the newsletter/loyalty card.

Waited 15 minutes to be served at an empty bar for lunch with my wife. 3 staff walked by saying just be a second. They weren't. Walked out and went for dinner in Whitely. Used to love it here. Have been loads of times but really really poor service. Won't be coming back.

Waited 45 mins for our dinner. Mums steak should have been well done, came out pink. When we finally got the attention of the waitress to let her know she took it back to put back under the grill, came back with some fresh chips but still pink in places. Asked for the bill got someone else's! Not a good visit, shame as it's so local and ideal to pop in for a quick bite normally

The meal was OK and great value for money due to the government eat out scheme in August had to wait 9 minutes to get seated even when we book in advance that was down to covid not enough staff on also had to wait 50 minutes to get food that was a bit long . Would only go back when we over covid as had better experience before covid

Haven't been here for some time and found it to be quite crowded even as early as 7 PM - so glad we booked in advance because it would have been a
disappointment to have missed what was a filling and well cooked meal,
Enjoyed the ale too that was being served (manly Doom Bar in my case).
I had the mixed grill and found it well
Cooked and plentiful. All I can say is I
would not take much persuading to go
again. Enjoy!

Popped in for a few drinks at christmas walking distance from home which helps.
Fair range of beers wines and spirits . This pub is all about the food which as we didnt eat when we visited cant comment on .
Decor is starting to look alittle dated. Staff helpful but at busy times not quite enough of them .
Good place for a drink before moving on

Awful experience from start to finish. I have been going to Beefeaters for years now and always had great service especially from the Rusty Cutter, hence I did not think that things would be so different at the Oast and Squire.
How wrong could I have been. It started from the time we walked in. The manager showed us to our table but raced away not taking into account that we had an elderly person in our party so we had to hunt for our party because we had not a clue as to where they had been sat.

We were told who our waiter/ess was going to be and sat and waited. After a while the manager came back to see if we had been served and of course we had to tell her no. She took our drinks order. When that turned up it was incomplete and drinks were missing. After another age the waiter eventually turned up and took our order. The order eventually came. One roast dinner had no vegetables on the plate. They brought me Roast Beef instead of Lamb and the Mixed grill that was ordered with a larger size piece of steak although charged the extra on the bill came with a normal size steak. In fact they did not manage to get one persons order correct. Needless to say I have told them that I will be writing this review and I that I certainly will not be returning.

Not very impressed, service bad, young girl was good but very obnoxious lad serving. Some food not available on menu. Steaks were awful. Small size meals, trying to be A-La-carte but, alas no.

It's not the best in town not very good for intimate dinners it can get very noisy expescially when the is a birthday is going on and you're trying to have a quiet dinner with loved ones or family you find yourself shouting just to be heard across the table

Good food. Staff were attentive and good with the kids. Only downside was drinks were a little slow to be delivered, at one point the wrong drink was brought and another didn't arrive at all so had to ask for it to be removed from the bill. However, staff were apologetic and fixed anything as soon as they could
