An excellent afternoon tea of delicious little sandwiches on different types of bread, dinky little scones (plain and fruited) with strawberry jam, lemon curd and clotted cream and a selection of scrumptious cakes all washed down with lashings of tea.

A wonderful exquisite place, rooms are large and spacious and it is decorated beautifully. There is a good amount of spacing between rooms, so you don't get a lot of noise from the hallway nor the other rooms; and the location is quite secluded so again you get peace and quiet. I really enjoyed my stay here even though it was one night. If there was a criticism it would be that there is no apparent room service, so bear this in mind when you're booking, Other than that it was a very fine stay.

I have given Oakley hall hotel one star as I was not impressed with their afternoon tea, which was very expensive for what you get, the most expensive 3 small finger sandwiches ever, with 2 small scones, a couple of miniature cakes. Anyone new visiting beware, don't be fooled by the afternoon tea photos or the information on the Oakley hall hotel website, you get charged extra if you have coffee. The manager, baiba is also not interested In customer satisfaction, very unhelpful. Other staff seemed friendly, but not helpful to any issues.

Beautiful hotel with stunning grounds. Our room was lovely, very spacious, nicely decorated and with great views. All the staff were attentive and are to be commended.
The food was the only slight let down, we are in the two rosette restaurant and whilst there was nothing wrong with our food I just personally don't think it was up to a two rosette standard.
Would definitely go back and would recommend.

We got married at Oakley Hall....it was an amazing experience and they treated us wonderfully even though we were a small party. Great memories, couldn't talk highly enough of the place. Stunning scenery for photos too.

After a disastrous experience in another hotel near Winchester, my friend and I decided to try Oakley Halls afternoon tea experience. What can I say but absolutely delicious. Beautiful location, glorious weather, great service from all the waiters, all safety measures adhered to, and more. One waiter even kindly allowed us to have a table outside instead of the one reserved for us indoors, so we could enjoy the views and the sunshine. We didn't go for a walk round the grounds afterwards as we were literally too full to want to move. We were also given boxes for the cakes we couldn't eat there and then. Sandwiches consisted of chicken & pesto, ham and mustard, egg mayo with watercress and salmon with cream cheese, on a variety of bread rolls and sliced bread, all beautifully served along with a variety of teas or coffees, unlimited amount. All in all a fantastic relaxing afternoon tea. Will definitely be coming again, and hopefully walk some of those calories off around the grounds.

Stunning place, large courtyard and the food is good. It was perfect for the evening though the portions of the meals were sometimes off and the tastes somewhat underwhelming. But besides that, marvellous!

We went to Oakley Hall Hotel on Christmas Eve and stayed one night. They do not have staff to help with luggage and there are steps to the entrance. Many of the guests were elderly so this could be problematic for them. The front desk staff wasn t particularly helpful nor friendly. Not curt or rude but very indifferent. There was red wine on the front reception counter but it wasn t offered.

ROOM:
The hotel rooms have been renovated to a very high standard. I was extremely impressed with how beautiful, modern and spacious the room and bathroom was. I didn t get a photo but wish I would ve. There was a rain shower head as well as a handheld. A very wide sink and plenty of counter space. A towel warmer, robes and slippers.

They provided a small bottle of still water, sparkling water, and there was milk in the mini fridge. A large wall mounted TV, a quiet night s sleep and a full length mirror with a spacious closet and safe. They even had cost hangers and areas to place luggage. Every detail was thought of.

GROUNDS:
Very nice but nothing spectacular in the way of gardens. I was impressed with the height of the 200 year-old trees. Very beautiful and healthy. Guests can walk around the grounds which have woods.

RESTAURANT:
I m going to separate my dinner experience from my breakfast as they were very different.

Dinner:
The staff was very attentive, helpful and professional. I have a plethora of dietary restrictions and as such, gave the hotel my list at least 24 hours in advance. Unfortunately the staff didn t give it to the chef until 7 pm the evening of dinner. We had dinner at 8:30 pm. The chef not only went out of his way to accommodate me but he did so last minute which is even more impressive. My list of ingredients I couldn t have included gluten, dairy, mammals and many high FODMAP foods. But the chef wasn t deterred, he made sure I was taken care of. The dessert in particular was not just amazing for someone with dietary restrictions but for anyone. My goodness it was the most decadent, flavorful and fantastic desserts I ve had. The chef even put cherry sorbet on top which was very tart and tasty. The chef impressed me so much that I asked to meet him so I could say, Thank you! He was humble, gracious and very talented. He deserves 10 stars!

BREAKFAST:
Unfortunately breakfast was a let down so I can only assume someone else was cooking. We also had a hard time getting someone to take our order. We sat and waited and waited. Finally my husband had to get up and find someone to take our order.

The smoked salmon was so salty that I couldn t eat it. I love all forms of salmon, especially smoked, but this was way too sodium filled to consume.
The poached eggs were cooked appropriately meaning the yolks weren t too hard but the whites were wilted so I couldn t eat some of it.
The hash brown was the frozen type which was fine but lukewarm. Fruit had limited options. They had slices of melon at the buffet counter (where there were pastries) but they were so difficult to grasp with wooden utensils. The melon was good.

The hotel has two bars and several function rooms. I imagine it s good for work parties.

Great hotel in the countryside with friendly staff. The main building was built in 1795 and has changed hands a number of times only becoming a hotel relatively recently. The place has lots of character and a nice chilled out feel with lots of garden space and walks among the trees to explore. The glasshouse resteraunt has amazing food and there's also a more relaxed bar with standard drinks and hot food. The Bombay Sapphire gin distillery is just down the road and is a good afternoon activity. Overall would definitely recommend a visit for a relaxing weekend break.

Went for afternoon tea had a wonderful time. Afternoon tea itself was great with s modern twist. Fine selection of teas and unlimited refills. Filter coffee was nice. Service professional and discreet. Free destination EV chargers were a nice surprise. Why only 4 stars, well the 'Pay the bill' process was a little slow. Restaurant looks great so will be returning to try that and hopefully changing to 5 stars. Overall 1st impressions great

Beautiful surroundings and leisurely afternoon tea which was exquisite in preparation and presentation. Lovely staff catered to our needs without being overbearing. We topped the afternoon with a walk around the grounds. Highly recommended

Wonderful hotel, friendly staff. Has a amazing garden to walk round and plenty of space for the children to run free. Food is delicious and filling. Would recommend to stay or even to have food in their restaurant.

The afternoon tea was lovely and when making a reservation online they ask for any special requests and I happen to mention that it was my friends birthday and they brought out the slate with happy birthday written in white chocolate n two strawberries dipped in chocolate with a single candle on there as well which made a lovely touch n a happy friend.
The only thing wrong was some flies flying around whilst enjoy our afternoon tea.
They also supply a box for you to take home what you don't finish .

We had booked afternoon tea for two in the glasshouse restaurant and were pleasantly surprised by the updated hotel decor and surroundings since our last visit. The staff on reception were polite and directed us to the restaurant. Once seated we were served an amusee bouche and asked which tea we would like and if we had any dietary requirements. A beautiful platter of sandwiches, cakes and scones were served and the waitress took us through what they were. Unfortunately the food didn't taste as good as it looked. It tasted pre packaged and didn't appear to have been made using fresh ingredients that day. We have been to several similarly priced afternoon teas and this definitely wasn't good value for money.

Genuinely one the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. Free room service in the evening. The cleanest, most well appointed rooms. Staff are friendly, relaxed and always smiling. The location is easily accessible. There is ample parking. The grounds and building are beautiful. I simply cannot fault this hotel. I absolutely hate being away from family for work trips, but this hotel is just fantastic value and has made this trip much more bearable. I cannot recommend this hotel enough.

Attended a team meeting. Food and conference room excellent. Staff attentive. Set in large grounds, proper country house hotel. In summer would expect rooms to be a bit hot as no air con in evidence.

An absolute delight having Christmas lunch here! The food was exquisite, the staff attentive but not overpowering and the hotel itself is beautiful. We're definitely going to return for more food and maybe, just maybe, a sneaky overnight stay to indulge in some amazing luxury for ourselves. We have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Oakley Hall.....

The food was not of good quality for the price paid andnthe service was terrible as well. They did not provide the correct amount of seats for people that were there, despite the fact that they had been informed of the number of people.
