My husband and I were very excited to try Oak, as we had read the good reviews the restaurant had received. We had reservations at 8:30 on a Saturday night and the entree I tried to order (1 of about 7 entrees on the menu) was already sold out. For some reason, and I take full responsibility for this, I ordered the chicken, which I never do at a nice restaurant. The chicken was very dry and unappealing, however my husband's lamb dish was fine. So, when the waiter came over to ask how our meal was, I was honest and said I didn't love the chicken, but thought the lamb was good, to which he replied "Well, eat his then.". and walked away!!! I was in shock, For such an expensive restaurant, the food should be spectacular and the service should at the very least be polite. The chicken was terrible, the lamb was ok and the side dish of potatoes was nothing special, we even joked they were like hash browns from a chain breakfast restaurant. For all the dining options we have in Dallas, please do not waste your money at Oak. It was almost like they received good press and decided they did not have to try anymore. Overall, ,not a good experience.
