Given that majority of the your service is customer driven, it is beyond me that you have probably the worst customer service department that i have ever had to deal with. I made 3 calls each of which I had to wait 3 hours each. The second call because the agent did not record or process my claim to begin with. This is absolutely unacceptable and being that you are a large corporation should have more respect for the time and experience of your customer.

I would use #TransferwiseApp instead. #paypal uses a very slow system of moving your money from your "PayPal" account to your "bank account" in essence it took a week and transferwise took 12 hours. Another thing . Don't log on your account from multiple computers. There AI system will flag it as scam then have you wait "13-19 minutes" on hold for the customer service representative to transfer you around a couple times. They're system has grown obsolete. I already deleted other PayPal account I created after I got scammed. Now no one around me is using PayPal. I will never use either.

People who work for Paypal must be just as miserable as this company. They hold your money for 6 months or more, or you may never get your money back. They make up reasons such as your identity is unverified or suspicious activity on your account, or anything else to continue to hold your funds, because they are earning interests on your money, and the longer they hold your funds, the more interests they earn for their shareholders. Paypal has destroyed businesses and personal lives due to their fraudulent and ridiculous policies. The Federal Trade Commission and the California State Attorney Office should have shut these Crooks down years ago. I have lost thousands of dollars dealing with Paypal. Horrible service companies bigger and better than paypal operate every day using customer state ID information and government ID with no issues for their companies or their clients. Paypal on the other hand wants every bit of information(which is fine within reason) but the constant request for information that has been submitted multiple times and the constant account limiting to accounts that have no claims against them no files of unauthorized transactions no bad reviews is insane the fact they only protect their own interests while they falsely claim they are protecting clients and customers yet they happily take in funds and setup hoops to jump, decipher, grovel and beg thru . all while hindering clients ability to pay staff, buy more stock and accomplish more jobs . They are trying to distroy business or push them out.

When you processes payments with them, they will constantly and "randomly" hold your payments even if you follow all the rules and have a 3 year processing history with them. They also will exercise the right to randomly freeze your assets for as long as they see fit even if that means you go out of business because your funds are tide up. In addition, if you have a dispute from a buyer, even if the buyer is obviously lying and you have submitted irrefutable evidence to that effect, they WILL side with the buyer. Thus allowing criminals to steal from you with PayPal's backing and blessing. Serious flaws exist and the company will never change it's ways so we will never use them again.

So... I sell a coupe of items via eBay with funds moved via PayPal and then a random hold on the funds from the buyer to me by PayPal on behalf of eBay. Why?

Completely random since I have not sold enough items (my last two sales were $4700 and $1900). I had more planed in that range, but not via eBay/PayPal!

I am very disappointed in Paypal horrible service I have been a customer with them since they opened. I never would of imagined that they would allow a seller on their platform to steal my money. I purchased a defective item returned it over 3 months ago I have the tracking # from Fedex that the seller signed for and received the merchandise back and Paypal still has not handled my dispute for this seller to refund my $241. I have been going back and forth with them about getting my refund and they keep telling me to take it up with my bank. My bank has said it is their responsibility to see that I get my money back because I already returned the merchandise. This is so horrible on Paypal behalf I have filed a report with BBB and the District attorney office I will get my $241 refund Paypal nobody is going to just take my hard earned money that you have selling through your platform. Is very easy do a fraud with PAYAPAL to get a travel free.
If you can pay with PAYPAL a service like tour, hotel , tickets and any that be a SERVICE and doesnt requiere a delivery by Mail or UPS etc.
Because PAYPAL only protect transactions with a RECEIPT of MAIL DELIVERY all other transactions claimed proceed.
Then after travel you claim to your Credit Card as invalid transaction, Unknow transaction, and you receive a refund for it.

I will not use Paypal since it does not protect the customers when real problems occur especially with EBAY purchases. I won't belabor this point since it has been made before in other Paypal reviews.

2.5 out of 5 is pretty bad. EBAY removed my comments which were "Caveat Emptor" buyer beware of this vendor. It should probably be buyer beware of using both EBAY and PayPal!

They used to be great, now you cannot get a straight answer and if you ask a question in an email its automated... reask and you get a general email... reask you get another person oh yeah sending the automated again.. I move my IP changed so they remove all my perks and options for allegeded security reasons. A super tells me it is fixed and block is removed ... ya right, its not removed the next agent says your blocked...what are these people just stupid or what>? I ask for a ticket and to be elevated to another level ... oh ya automated reply.... one way to break them off is shut down the cards and close the checking account. When I try to log on to delete the account, It has a two step verification process using my email and it has the thief s phone number. I cannot access account. Awful, awful, awful. I have been on the phone 6 times trying to resolve an issue. I get nowhere. I am unable to access my Paypal account for the last several weeks after trying to change the contact person. I am about to drive to their headquarters in San Jose and ask to talk with someone in person. Maybe that will not work but it is worth a try since i am local. And this is for a business account that does significant business through the Paypal portal.

I bought 2 products through PayPal. The seller shipped my products to 2 different addresses and neither address was mine. I called PayPal and they said I got my product delivered because the shipper said it shipped to my zip code. Also, the customer service agent told me I needed to get a Intranet tracking form from the shipper to prove that I didn t get the package. I did this and it showed that the seller shipped both packages from the start to 2 different addresses, but they both the same zip code. I sent this 2 times to PayPal and they still denied my claim saying it was shipped to the correct zip code. Now they are closed because of the virus and I cannot get in contact with anyone except through text and one agent says they don t have the email I sent, then a few hours later the next agent sees it and says they have it all and then opens the claim. The next day I get denied because it shows it was shipped to the right zip code. PayPal doesn t care about if it gets shipped to the right address, they just care about the right zip code. I will pay off my account with PayPal and I will never do business with them again. Be aware of this and who you are doing business with.
Also, make sure your seller will respond back to you because I sent about 10 emails and never got returned. I wouldn t have given PayPal even one star, but I had to give them something or else I couldn t give a response. Poor customer service and they truly don t care about the customer.

There is a reason this company has such a low rating. They are literal crooks. Do not believe anything anyone at this company tells you. First the refused to allow me to dispute a charge, they claim to have no information about the person they sent my money too. They do not know the seller's address, phone number or anything else, paypal could be sending money to terror networks or drug dealers for all the know, they do not care. They create an illusion of a secure transaction that it. It is not secure. They do not know who they are sending money too. They will fight tooth and nail any refund or dispute even going so far as to bold face lie. They are not honest in their lending. They claim the payment will be 2% of outstanding balance or 25 dollars but I am often charged 4-5 times that amount. They will not allow you to speak with anyone beyond the customer service rep who is not allowed to do anything so there is basically no customer service at all. They can take your money in fractions of a second but if you need help with an issue your only option is to send a letter! via snail mail!

A tech company in silicon valley and they ONLY means of communication is a snail mail letter. No email, no phone number, a letter that you have to hope and pray at some point in the future you might get a reply. This is a bad company made of bad people doing bad things.

PayPal customer support is amazing. I have been a member for well over 10 years, when ebay and PayPal were still one in the same. I have called many times with odd situations and not all ended in my favor, but even the worst experiences have been handled better than any other company I've had to contact about anything. I feel that PayPal really works hard to train their employees and chooses them wisely, very well done PayPal, very well done.

Their customer service is the worst on planet, and these guys are involved in the criminal/illegal activity to take money from your account without your permission.

I did mistake of using them as merchant bank for credit card processing, but since then had nothing but trouble with them. They reversed the transaction even though the payee has no problem and says charge me. Paypal team makes arbitrary decisions, their customer service is useless, unsympathetic and is working like a large bureaucracy in communist country..

Non supporters of small businesses. I was banned for selling CBD products even though I was told by a paypal employee that I could sell them. They locked my funds for 6 months without notice as well. Funny thing is Cumberland Farms accepts paypal and sells CBD products. Small business discrimination I guess.

PayPal has been amazing.....not sure what all these a and 2 star reviews are about..... I've literally never had a problem with PayPal or any thing even close to it. The only time I ever had a problem was with a company that I use PayPal to pay they ripped me off and PayPal fixed it within an hour. PayPal has stood by me and been there for my eBay business and I use it as my primary debit card all of the time even with two other bank accounts. I link my bank account to my PayPal and it's just easier to use PayPal because I know they have my back no matter what happens. Amazing company wouldn't go with anybody else. I've literally never had a problem with PayPal or anything even close to it. The only time I ever had a problem with any payments through them was with a hotel that I payed using PayPal, the company ripped me off and PayPal fixed it within an hour. The only downside that I would say, is that I can't link my cash app to it for some reason even though it's a debit card. It would be nice to do that but it's not really necessary either. Keep it up guys truly incredible company.

PayPal is a terrible company... I am a combat vet who lost both legs in Afghanistan and loves the outdoors... I work with a nonprofit who take Veterans on hunting experiences of a lifetime for therapy... PayPal recently shut the group off and wont release the funds for 180 days while we are trying to send these 2 wounded veterans to Africa on a hunt of lifetime and need the money from the paypal account to pay for airfare for these guys.... the people at paypal didnt really care one way or the other about these wounded veterans. Wish they would realses the funds and we will take our business else where and tell others to do the same....

Compliance refused to talk to me about a frozen nonprofit business account. Once the account was unfrozen after a month all funds that were in it before being frozen were stolen by PayPal. Promptly closed account to prevent further theft by this company. Go with WePay or Square, much safer and friendlier.

Failed to refund 2 transactions I made more then two weeks ago. Event host approved refund and I got email confirmation through EventBrite. Called PayPal twice trying to get things moving forward but was told no refund approved for any of my transactions and I have to talk with eventbrite or event host. Going through their auto voice conversation via call is painful and all I got was that this is my problem they are not trying to help me I have to figure it out by myself. Will never use PayPal.

Really frustrating dealing with customer service, especially if you ask for a supervisor or manager. Better to deal with the reps and email. The managers are totally useless. After many years of smooth transactions, my transaction at Home Depot got declined maybe because I ordered from 2 different HD locations inadvertently (because I had 2 windows open) but the pickup location was only one location. That may have confused their security system which is hard-coded and the reps have no idea how it works or why a transaction is declined or how much longer your transactions will be declined. It's not their fault, it's systemic, a big mysterious top secret security system that has many false alarms. The machines override people. And when you ask them why, it's not just that they don't know, they assume you are at fault or your credit card is to blame. I have excellent credit and I used the same credit card at HD bypassing PayPal and I continue to use my credit card. And if there is a problem with the card my bank will let me know, they initiate the call right away. But PayPal does not tell you anything and you can't even talk to the security department or to the corporate office. They have zero interest in solving your problem or keeping you as a customer. They are in Philippines and Latin America I think. They have different metrics and culture and it's just very frustrating not being given a reason or what can be done other than completing the purchase outside of PayPal or how long the decline status will last. But the good news is you don't have to use PayPal. I can buy stuff directly with my credit card, the only convenience with PayPal is you just enter your email and password instead of entering your card number and address and name etc. They say it is also more secure, but using my card directly is also secure as long as I am on a secure reputed website. So I can easily live without PayPal. Just saying.

Make sure your payment info. is current before you use PayPal. Had an old debit card for an account I no longer use on there. So the charge did not go through and my old bank hit me with a $35 fee. No problem my fault. Paid the fee and changed my card.

PayPal tried the old card again 2 days after I removed it, another $35 fee.

Called PayPal customer service and asked why they kept trying to use a card I had removed instead of the new one provided? PayPal customer service just kept saying it was the card we had when you made the charge. No duh & it didn t work so I gave you a new one.

Be careful PayPal fraud is getting more and more dangerous and you cannot reach anyone for help. Someone logged into my account changed everything into Spanish added his cell number to get codes to login and just like that transferred balance ($75) to his own credit card. Which they denied the case because it was authorized by the login. Then he initiated a transfer from my bank for $1000 thank god I was able to see this one because I initiated a stop payment cost me $30 but transfer never went through changed account back new password, removed bank and credit cards and will no longer use PayPal. Yes we can live without PayPal. Too much access to our banks and credit cards. Overall fraud cost me $105 I guess I feel blessed he didn t get more.

They charge massive hidden fees on FX conversions. your transaction 3.9% fee for a transaction can easily climb to around 8%. Worst customer service possible (reps will be just hang up on you). They will do everything in order to hold your money with them as long as they can.
If you do not want to spend time, money and nerves, it is better not to have account with this company of scammers.
IF YOU NEED TO TRANSFER MONEY, use this VISA s new system - VISA DIRECT !!! Transfer money worldwide, to any VISA card in the World. Payment for transfer is chipper that paypal and transfer is almost instant (paypal holds your money up to 21 days !!!)

They sided with and thus officially support China Scammers who are posing as USA sellers. This is in reference to all the fake facebook ads for lasers and lightsabers. They are all fake and send $5 toy versions instead of the products shown. Even after providing a return tracking number, paypal refused a refund. I can only assume that Paypal is working with the Chinese Scammers, do not use paypal ever again, pay straight through your card or bank account instead.

I have submitted every ridiculous document they asked for, including wanting to know why i received the money and what i intended to use for!!!! I have my name on the account, not a business account, my name is on the bank account where the money is to be transferred, and yet i still have "account limitations". Customer service is absolutely no help whatsoever. Outrageous hold times that end in a call drop half of the time. How are you supposed to resolve this? I am at my whits end with this company. Have an issue with my business account, and it's been 2 years since paypal has had the information to fix it, and haven't. Piss poor customer service. I have called at least a dozen times, and each time the customer service gives me a number to the San Jose office, it's diconnected. Trying to get a hold of their legal department is a joke. Nobody there, phones are diconnected, refuse to direct you to the right department of what you're looking for help with, and will not resolve the legal matter at hand even with all the paperwork required for the account. Very dissatisfied with this service. Guess I'll be bringing my business elsewhere.
