The food was very good. Seared scallops appetizer was amazing as well as the fresh ginger Moscow mules. I had the lamb and my gf had the flat iron steak. As well as risotto table plate. The entrees didn't wow us. I would have expected to be wowed it being a top chefs restaurant. Risotto was soupy and rice undercooked. Tasty but not the right texture. The service isn't bad but it has been very slow. We aren't In a rush but it took 15 mins to clear dinner plates. Doubtful we'll come back but overall it was ok

My family and I went in for brunch Sunday morning. It was a huge disappointment! First of all, the food took forever to come out. Most of us ordered the eggs benedict but the eggs were boiled so much there was only yolk left and cold. The hashbrowns (in a rectangle) had so much thyme in them you couldn't taste anything else, out of 7 people that ordered it, no one ate them. My mom and I were also excited to have gluten free eggs benny! The girl came out and asked if we wanted it on a bun or on toast. We both ordered the bun but they both came out with toast. I questioned our server (who wasn't around most of the time) and she said it was the bun. Now, I've been celiac for 5 years, I know the difference between a bun and a slice of bread. All I wanted her to know was that this was bread and perhaps they didn't offer buns or SHOULDN'T offer buns because they don't have them. The server laughed in my face and walked away. It wasn't until we each got our bills that we realized why she could care less about our table, gratuity was added. For $40.00 a person, I could have made my own eggs benny and hashbrowns. Horrible experience, we won't be going back.
Love (the food) love (the ambience) love (thr staff) love NOtaBLE! Came here for lunch for our anniversary and we were not disappointed. My second time at the restaurant. Thankfully the poutine special was a special and not a regular menu item otherwise I'd be here every day!! The staff were excellent - the server explained everything extremely well and gave excellent recommendations. Can't wait to return!
Despite being very busy they manage to provide a personalized experience, including much care and attention towards special dietary requirements. We have always had an enjoyable meal here.
Had the ravioli and bread to start and both were incredible. Highly recommended them! Had the pork tenderloin as a main and it was also to die for! Great atmosphere and delicious food!
Yucky. Food isnt the greatest. Had the hamburger and fries. Very dry hamburger. Cost was 18$ had the cheesecake. Even worse. Made with blue cheese. Cost was11$ definitely never going back
Service and quality seems to be going downhill. Food quality seems to be getting worse, along with the service. Unlikely to return unless invited by others.
Great down to Earth food. Mergeuz lamb meatballs are excellent, rotisserie ham was perfectly cooked (a chef's choice for our day), and interesting cocktails.
I really like this restaurant. Interior is very nice ( unique for Calgary - no televisions!!!), though it can get a little loud. Lots of interesting dishes to choose from, all well made from high quality ingredients, with reasonable portions. Service is good. Never had a meal I didn't like here. Have tried the flatiron steak, chicken and lamb as mains. All excellent. Although avoid the stilton cheesecake unless you love blue cheese!
I chose this restaurant to celebrate a wedding anniversary because I had been here once before and the food was incredible. This time, the food was still "above average" (8/10) but definitely not the 10/10 I had experienced the first time I came with friends. My husband & I had mussels and frites (the mussels were huge and yummy but the sauce was missing something but still an 8/10). I had lamb and it was quite good but a bit chewy so 8/10. My husband had the prime rib and quite enjoyed it but there was a lot of fat he had to cut away (he gave it an 8/10). So overall, the food was still quite good. The thing that was surprising was that for such an upper class restaurant, all of the staff were wearing old, faded black jeans. Are they trying to encourage more denim wearing, casual patrons? Plus the service was slow. It took 10 minutes for our waitress to take our initial drink order after we were seated. Then she didn't come back for such a long time that we drank our water and decided to wait to have wine with dinner. When we asked if it was a busy night, the waitress said, "Not really, it's actually slower than usual"...? Weird? Overall, an enjoyable evening but we wouldn't rush back or make the effort to come all the way from Bragg Creek again.
This restaurant is an exception to the ones that you would fine in comparision to the others in the neighbourhood, its the only fine dining restaurant around.Upon entering your greeted by the pleasant staff and directly in front of you is a large open kitchen behind the bar. A large rotisserie containing BBQ chickens, Prime Roasts and an array of different activities occurring with a wood oven in the kitchen in full view. It was great. Our service was Connor he was attentive to our needs, the food was outstanding and had a very lovely evening. One we look forward to again.
Came here with my wife for anniversary on a Sunday brunch. The interior atmosphere of the restaurant is absolutely phenomenal! Staff were very friendly and offers excellent recommendations as to what we should have. Menu and drinks were all way above and beyond. I would definitely comeback again especially to celebrate special occasions!

We had the potato rolls to start. They were absolutely delicious. Next we had the beef tartare, it was slightly disappointing, as it was border line frozen and I did not care for the pairing of chips it was served with. My husband had the olio pasta which he found kind of salty but tasty. I had the scallops which was ok. Service was great!
Sadly disappointed - Lunch last week with a friend resulted in a great waiter, but the food was very much less than expected - my french fries were burnt, with too many small little crumbs of pieces; the burger was kind of ok.... lunch for two $95.
Our recent dining experience at notables was abysmal and after this experience we will not be back.
We ordered 4 entrees for dinner and after bringing out 3 entrees there was a over a 15 minute wait to find out the status of the 4th entree. I had to ask where the plate was to get any indication that something was wrong and while waiting our food got cold. They came and told us there was a system issue and the order was not sent to the kitchen and comped the late entree for us.
When the 4th entree did come out there was a small piece of prime rib with a separate end cut stuffed under it to make it appear the correct size. The end piece was well done and not medium rare as advertised. Once again I brought it to their attention and we were told the chef had only started 2 days ago and was new. They comped us one round of drinks and offered complimentary desert which we ended up not ordering.
The manager gave me a card and said next time you come in call us and we will make it right. What that means is beyond me and you should have made it right when we were there, not the next time.
At the end of the day the bill was still not cheap and you're paying for an experience; a bad one in this case. A system glitch and a new chef are not something the customer controls. Customers don't want excuses, they want a decent dining experience and unfortunately failed in this case.
On a positive note the server was good but unfortunately could not rescue the meal.
Great appetizer, great wine, good and filling main. Combinations work very well together but seem to be lacking a bit of creativity and new dishes. Desserts were really out of this world. Always safe and awesome food.
We were fortunate to have our small wedding ceremony & reception at Notable. Everything was incredible - the food, the staff, the service. We were treated like family and it has always been our favourite place to eat ever since our first date there 6 years ago. Special thanks to Michael Noble and Katya Stirrett who took care of us the whole way through. We will never forget that evening & cannot express our gratitude enough for making our wedding so special. Amazing!!!!
I had heard a lot of good things about this place but upon arriving i discovered, they had lost our reservation. The food is ok. Asked for a medium rare steaks got well done and the other was rare. Messed up changes to our orders. Forgot other extras for our table and when they arrived they were burned, by the time we finished eating our main. Gelato was soup on my desert because it sat waiting too long to be served. Then I got a dirty look because I didn't tip enough, despite poor service that we pointed out. Won't be going back. OVER RATED
Took my girlfriend to dinner for her Birthday and it was nothing short of amazing, the food was delicious and the service was a cut above the rest, was easily the best dining experience I have had in Canada. Will be going back for sure, still many things on the menu we would like to try.
Horribly overpriced. It's an expense account resteraunt that isn't in downtown so people spend their own money on food and service that is mediocre for the price that it is
The food is great! However, the atmosphere was a little too noisy. The staff were great as well. There is no parking as well which makes it difficult to get there.
Was recommend to Notables by some friends and absolutely loved the food! Everything came out hot and as ordered! I knocked one star off because unfortunately we were basically sitting with the people next to us, on either side, because we were so close to them. the poor server could hardly fit between the tables. I understand we may have come during a busy time but sadly it did take away from the experience. But regardless, the service and food were both amazing and I would definitely recommend to anyone who asked!!
Atmosphere is cozy. Service was on par. Food quality was excellent, best rotisserie chicken I ve ever had. Entree s were a little slow coming out, but the quality made up for it. Shared the scallops which were cooked beautifully. We also ordered the chicken ravioli which was great, but we both agreed the star was the rotisserie chicken.

This is completely dedicated to the Manager Brittany. Wish I was able to give 0 stars. To start, I have been going to this restaurant since it s opening many years ago. We are known as the guys that come in and sit at the bar for hours at a time. Every time. Called this evening and asked if there were spots available at the bar and was told that spots cannot be held, but that there are 6 spots open at the moment. Ok no prob. Headed down right away (have to drive from the deep SW) Upon arrival, those same 6 spots were open at the bar, but was told by Brittany(the manager) that they had been spoken for. Huh? I thought there were no holding seats or reserving them? I thought it was walk in only? Not sure how the policy changed within a matter of minutes, but regardless we were denied and told that there is nothing for a minimum of an hour wait. Great. We have been supporting this restaurant through all of the allegations but will refuse to do so as of this moment on account of Brittany s conduct. We will happily bring our business to establishments that do not provide preferred treatment. We will not be back. Ever.
We went here with friends today and were skepticle when we saw the prices. But after an amazing meal and top notch service we will definately be back! Worth the price for sure.
I do wish it wasn't so dark. I get wanting a nice apnosphere but we had to use the lights on our phones to see the menu!!!!
We were so thrilled when Michael Noble decided to open a place in Montgomery. Great food. Good burgers. Amazing prime rib (I love getting an end piece). This is where we bring friends and family to impress. I like that they only reserve half the tables and the rest is first come, first served. So you always have a chance if you come early.
Lunch was tasty well prepared the service not great server didn't know the brisket sandwich was sold out until at least 5 mins after we ordered it. They where also sold out of steaks for steak sandwich and I didn't like how the whole restaurant wreaks of smoke left there smelling had to change clothes immediately the kitchen did an excellent job with the food we did order.
Wife booked this places days in advance, came there around 5:15pm, got seated right away. Looked around, it wasn't that busy..
5 mins has passed - not a single waiter/waitress came by to our table. 10 mins has passed - we see other waitresses serving other tables. Noticed a few groups walked in and was served right a way. 15 mins has passed - I can see the fustration on wife's face. Again, not a single waiter/waitress came by. 17 mins has passed - we walked.
In the 32 yrs living in Calgary, for the first time I felt like we got "denied of service"! My heart just sank.. We both walked out and told the hostess we haven't got served and we are leaving.
Fustrated, angry, we wanted answers. Wife called and talked to the Manager, he was apologetic and begged us to come back and because he mentioned it was the waitress first day and she didn't know (is he lying? - you decide).
I am proud at my wife for what she did, the best hightlight of my birthday!!
The food is always good, but I have found that the service can be a bit hit and miss. Also, considering the location, the prices seem a bit on the high side. Having said that, it's the food that keeps people coming and the place is always packed. Love the tuna sandwich.
Best food I ve had in forever, the meat was cooked perfectly beyond my expectations, and the vegetables were seasoned with spices I d never thought of using. Incredible is all I have to say, I love it here and I m excited to return.
Came here for one of my co-workers birthday lunch. One of the guys from the group suggested to get the brisket sandwich and I'm so glad I ordered it. It was very good! Service was good and food was tasty. The restaurant looks modern and it has a good atmosphere. You won't get anything cheap here, but the food is good. There is a mandatory 18% gratuity for groups of 7 or more.
Salmon burger: clearly made from real salmon because of the chunky texture. The bread was nicely grilled and the sauce was mildly spicy which was a good balance with the sweet mango slaw. Side note - I did ask for no peanuts in this dish because I am allergic but it came with peanuts anyway. They quickly remade this dish and brought it out so that my bro and I could eat our meals at the same time.
Honestly, I've always like this place, but I feel that quality is going down. Without mentioning decor, you can probably get a similar dining experience at the Keg. For my last meal, not only did they charge me $4 for horseradish, but the server had the audacity to call it fresh. When customers spend +$60 for a meal, you'd think that condiments would be included. So definitely come here to impress on your first date, but try other places on your second.
PDR was amazing and even had its own bathroom! Family style menu was delicous and filling, well portioned and perfectly timed. Everything about this restaurant was perfection.
Great atmosphere, attentive service, but the food didn't live up to expectations, especially for the price. At a table of five people EVERYONE complained of tastelessness. Stale bread, cold fries, unsweetened tea, ho-hum sauces, and frankly horrid desserts. The carrot cake came with an unsweetened carrot puree on top of it. I love adventurous plates, but make sure the adventure tastes good. Won't be going back unless there are major changes.
Great burgers (featuring a new burger every month I believe). Great service. A bit on the expensive side, some dishes do not offer good value for money. A reservation is highly recommended, especially on weekends.
First time eating at NOtaBLE, my boyfriend treated me for my birthday dinner after going out for the first time since the pandemic and wow, what an amazing experience. The service was outstanding, our server Terry was so pleasant, polite and made the experience outstanding. I ordered the Rosemary Grilled Alberta Lamb, had an amazing cocktail, had wine at dinner and the dessert was just the icing on the cake. I want to just say a big thank you and also thank you for making sure all the customers were safe during this time.
A little confused as to why such a good rating? The layout was crowded and uncomfortable. My order was late, and over cooked. I was seated beside a door that was used as a main route for the servers, and would hit my chair every time it was opened. Over all not impressed will not go back!
Exceptional wood fired meats and French inspired fare like steak tartare. Cozy atmosphere with a few dining areas and nice bar top overlooking the wood grill and the kitchen. Highly recommended for upscale digs if you're in the west Calgary area. Considering the quality and atmosphere I'd say menu prices are quite fair.
Went here on Saturday night. We started with a lemonade rhubard and sour old chap cocktail. The mussels are incredible and the mushroom soul was very good. For the main we had the lamb rissoto dish and the flatiron steak. Lamb was amazing. The flat iron steak was perfectly cooked but it could use a peppercorn sauce. Very continental dish but felt incomplete. Finally at the end of the meal we wanted an espresso or some type of caffeinated drink. The only thing they have is French press. Really?! No espresso machine.How is that even possible? Get yourself a la marzocco please. It was a great experience none the less but there needs to be some improvements for the price point.
High quality food. Gluten free menu. Great service. Amazing cocktails - this is pretty much the only place I order cocktails. It can get really loud and a bit tight during peak hours, but I don't find that effects the quality of food or service.

I've had brunch, lunch and dinner and while the food is top knotch it's hard to justify sometimes. Definately for special occasions but not for a weekday work lunch!
I truly loved eating dinner here. My first experience all the way dining in Bowness was magnificent. I live in Okotoks so to make the trek this far in the city had a wonderful payoff. The wine list was easy to navigate and everything on it seemed easy to pair with your entree (if your into food and wine pairings). I'm not one to complain about wine prices so don't look to me to review that. My fiance and I sat right at the bar where the grill is. The hostess kindly informed us it gets very warm sitting there. No big deal. I really liked watching the kitchen and all the food being put together. I swear it took forever for the both of us to decide what to eat. I wanted everything! The menu is crazy awesome! All the ingredients and how they are put together was so interesting and I wish I got to sample every little bit. I settled on the Halibut with lemon gnocchi. Mind blown. I tried to eat it slowly to savor every morsel of food that touched my tongue. The dessert was great too (creme brule). One of my favorite parts about the resturaunt was the personal photos of Micheal Noble in the hallway and him standing with Iron Chef Morimoto was the coolest thing ever. I loved that TV show growing up. I hope to go back all the way up into Bowness one day and eat again. Thank you for the experience!
We had lunch there a few weeks ago and we were seated right in front of the oven, nice and cosy, excellent lunch as well.... so we bought a chicken to take home as they looked so delish on the rack! What a disapointment!!!!! It tasted bland and had a layer of fat just under the skin... we just couldn't eat it and disposed of 3/4 of very expensive chicken. $23.00 down the drain.... never again!!!!!
So I went here maybe two years ago and again a month ago. This place, initially I thought it would be my favorite restaurant, but I was gravely disappointed. I didn't enjoy the food at all. And again 2 years later, I found it just as unfavourable.
One of the best restaurants we have been in Calgary so far. We ordered salmon and burger. Salmon was cooked to perfection and sides of vegies were really tasty. Burger was also good and juicy with fries. The place has a really nice atmosphere and decor, you can see the grill and how the chefs prepare the meals. Great service and very good value for money!
absolutely terrible they keep dropping the ball all the time yesterday was the last straw. they got rid of the flat iron steak that was absolutely delicious that came with good nice sized broccolini and instead replaced it with ribs and cheaped out on the broccolini. will never come back here again unless they bring the flat iron steak back.
you guys have really messed up removing your best steak? now you can remove a lot of your customers too while you're at it.
