Memberships here can be fairly expensive but they have a pool, two gyms, a weight room, and a ton of classes that are all included in the cost. The staff is friendly and fairly helpful and the facility itself isn't new but has been well maintained. The weights and weight equipment were showing their age a bit last time I was in, but I moved and haven't been a member for a while.

My family has been going to this facility for several years. I love how the staff really puts forth the effort to make all the guests feel welcome. The women involved with child care there are top notch also, my kids love to go see them.
The pool is always crowded on the weekends. It happened twice in the past month that we could not get in because the pool was at capacity. My kids were very disappointed. Switching to a different swimming place...
Northshroe Y at Bothell is part of Seattle YMCA network. Staff here is unprofessional for three reasons: Firstly, they gossip about other staff and about members. Some times I sit at the entrance lobby, while waiting for my kids to be done with swim, and I hear this nasty gossip. Secondly, The staff is rarely at the Y location. They are supposed to put 40 hours at work, but there are some that are never there. This Y should publish the hours of work for each staff, on their website. Thirdly, when organizing events for teens, it is impossible to get information about the events. Overall, the Management at this Y needs to get its act together, and offer a professional environment to members. As a member, I pay a lot of hefty sum for membership fees, so, it is not unreasonable to expect service from those who work at this Y.
The facility is good but I hate their policy - we are going to a different gym (because my kid joins their tennis team) and they refused to refund me the monthly fee because we didnt tell them 14-day in advance! This ruins my impression toward Northshore YMCA a great deal - @NorthshoreYMCA, why are you so money crunching? I was never told about this policy during the 2+ years I was there?
One of the best YMCAs I've been to in the Seattle area. Even before its recent lobby remodel (in the spring of 2013), its equipment and facilities have generally been topnotch, especially their cardio equipment. Recently, I've been getting into lap swimming as a workout, and I really like the fact that they almost always keep a lane or two open for swimmers, regardless of what else they have going on.
My only complaint would be that they keep their pool temperature a little low (I like WARM water), but they have a hot tub in the pool area as well so you can warm up before or after your workout.
My children come to the Y to practice taekwondo in classes taught by highly skilled and dedicated masters Chuck and Sharon. They both are doing an amazing job and I can't be happier to see my boys progressing and loving the sport.
My wife and I love this place. The classes are challenging and fun, and the instructors are amazing. Friendly, helpful staff, clean, cheerful environment, and quality equipment. We're hooked!
They put the couple of young life guard to manage the pool area, some people came in pull and hot top with house dresses like shirt and pants and they don t care about that , my friend give skin problems of that. We asked them to encourage them not to. They didn t even attempt to say something.
I am very disappointed! I ve seen few ladies wearing regular clothes in the jacuzzi area. We asked the life guard to tell them the regulations that ONLY swimming cloths are allowed. This made us sick.
Cotton and some other materials can hold detergents, germs, and bacteria in them, which can be released into the water. This can cause swimmers to get sick and even affect the water chemistry and clarity. Cotton also tends to absorb a lot of water and pool chemicals, requiring the pool to use more disinfectant.
Doesn't have all of the state of the art equipment but does have clean, well maintained, and enough of your usual racks, pulley systems and plenty of newish ellipticals and treadmills. Staff is friendly and the indoor running track is nice. Only notably negative is that it's super crowded on weekends with all of the kids activities. Also the free weight room is separate from the cardio and strength machines which can be an inconvenience.
You get the best value for your membership here if you have a family. There are lots of options for child care and family activities. There are good exercise class offerings, but more time options would be good.
Poor customer respect. I went there onSun while they must be open till 6:30 pm. They closed it at 1 pm for the week without prior notice to the clients. The front desk simply said they closed early without apology.
How is the Northshore Y the size of Northgate Mall?! What a magical maze of athletic options, fulfilling all your workout dreams and desires. The Microsoft of Y's, I have fallen in love with this place. Northshore Y is worth the drive from West Seattle. Clean, organized, safe, personal and completely up-to-date. Seattle needs to take notes and step your game up.
l like here.Training room and gym have enough space.Basket ball place is almost empty. The problem is, l met a couple of people just walking in the lap lane in the swimming pool. That is really annoying. They have edge large area to walk.Without this, great facility.
I use to attend this YMCA a lot more than I currently do. I love this YMCA for the nice staff, and really great gym for basketball and other recreational activities. I've had my membership for about 10 years, and It's been nothing but amazing.7/10 fun experience.
This is a awesome customer service YMCA and wonderful day care staff only complaint I have is pool is kind of small compared to other YMCA other than that my family loved it
I went with my friends to the body shop class a couple of weeks ago on a Friday morning. The instructor was very unproffesional. We had to leave before the class ended because one of my friends had an appointment and I had to give her a ride. While leaving the class, the female instructor started insulting us out loud and in front of the rest of the class. She was wearing the microphone and everyone could hear the embarrasing comments she was saying to us. The whole class was laughing at us. This got me really mad because I'm not paying my monthly membership to have this unprofesional instructor come and insult me and tell me what to do. If I can't stay the whole class, that is not her problem. She should follow the class since she gets paid for it, but not be mocking at us. Me and my friends like this class and this is the time we get the change to go. I would like that instructor to be replaced because we don't want to go while she is there and she is not qualified for the job.
My young children participate in swim at Northshore YMCA and we love the program. I also enjoy the group fitness classes here, especially bootcamp. It is a nice, clean facility.
