Hi,
I haven't been in building yet but as new Slough citizen I can say they website and online service they offer are rubbish and from century ago. I am not happy at all paying my council tax for poor service! Please change it and I'll change my opinion!

Rubbish Customer Service I have ever seen. The people sitting there neither they are trained nor they know how to speak to someone over the phone. The Lady put the phone down after saying "Any adviser is not available today, Please don't bother to call back Today". What a Shame.....

The worst customer service ever. Not helpful, rude...

The worst customer service ever. Not helpful, rude, don't do their job properly, in fact they don't do their job at all. There is this neighbourhood housing officer called Sam Nisa, who is so useless, I don't understand how people like that can work in the organisations dealing with people. She should not even be working there. Very very poor customer service. If it would be possible I would never dealt with them. Be aware, very very bad!!!

Lots of people have bad experience with Slough council it seems. I feel sorry for their experience, but my encounter with this council so far has been ok. The reason I give five star for ok is that comparing to other councils I have dealt with, Slough is definitely the best.

The service for Slough council is surprisingly bad. They don't answer the phone prompting you on a message to email enquires. When enquiries are emailed it takes on average a month to get a response from them.

I phoned to get an old microwave taken away and the lady I spoke to could not have been more helpful.
She arranged a date for collection and said I could have up to 7 more items collected and she said up to the day before I could add to it. It was collected on the day. I wish I had taken her name to thank her personally.

Quite frankly I cannot claim anyone was rude if only because nobody answered their published phone number. On the 3 occasions that I called them I was not informed that I was in a queue. Listening to the recorded message I was informed that using the website might be quicker. Not very reassuring when I had used their email service with a 10 day delay in answering any issues. So if you fall into arrears for any reason do not despair as they will write to you insisting that you respond within 7 days of receiving the letter. Think about that for a moment they laconically tell you to expect a response after 10 days but they expect you to perform circus tricks in 7.

Once again slough borough council have failed me a...

Once again slough borough council have failed me and my sons, after 5 years of being passed about to mouse infested temporary accomadations , I was moved into a 2 bedroom flat (also temp housing) to just find out the landlord had no idea I was in his property and wants me out by April , slough have said again I ll go homes less in April which means again more temp housing !!!!! I ve been placed out of slough 2 times now ! Only just got my children back settled and again facing more moving in 2018. 0 help , they ve lost me all my furniture due to high storage costs , they ve made me up and leave training twice as couldn t get to the location from being moved far out and to top it off 4 families who are willing to give statements have been placed in council housing within 3 months of walking into slough . The staff are rude , ignorant people with no sympathy to the outside housing situation slough is facing , homelessness is through the roof and they have 0 control . So many places are being subletted and giving away to families who have other homes back home . Absolute fail of a council . I will be taking all photo evidence , statements and phone calls/texts evidence to my solicitor and the papers in January ! About time someone looked into this council . 1 star reviews no surprise.

Repeatedly trying to get in contact for a homeless person. Repeatedly the council has failed to engage with me, whether that be not answering the phone, not responding to requests to call back as well as being generally rude/lacking basic knowledge on situations. Genuinely awful.

Slough council treat homeless people disgustingly ...

Slough council treat homeless people disgustingly taking dogs from a homeless lady when they were her life her everything and dumping the poor dogs in kennels took away her caravan so she was left with nowhere to live and now taking her to court to try and stop her her getting her dogs back. The homeless deserve better than this and her story will be told to a newspaper . They don't deserve any stars

Why doesn't anyone ever pick up the phone? Numerous times I have called over the past 2 months and never get any joy. When I choose the call back service only once someone called me back and that was hours later! If you don't have enough staff to cover the phones, then employ more staff! The council are so quick in chasing late council tax payments but don't bother to help when us residents need any help! Also maybe you should train your staff to sound happier and not miserable! Says it all about how they feel working in such an awful environment!

Rude unhelpful can't be done ,wrong information have little meeting talk to each other then return saying that you may take a seat after a long and I mean long wait a undertrain and over work person see you and still can't sort it out this is a normal vist to the Slough council office I not making this up this happen and is still happening day after day yes they havecpeople with problem s and yes thecpeople can be very annoying but a smile and being helpful would go a long way we are people too I myself am disabled and have mental health issues very bad ones most staff have little or no understand of the mental illness and talk to us like we are children for have learning problem s lolol i have a very very very high I,Q but sometime I can't be in a small place or lots of people they should understand we are all people give us time and consideration to the people there care about all people

is there any one monitoring reviews for council. so much to improve slough and money thrown in to re-do buildings which are perfectly fine and yet tax payers and public suffering sleeping in streets. WAKE UP COUNCIL, and actually do something productive for slough residence

In this day and age, they don't have digital queueing system, and the service was super lousy.
I had to wait for 2+ hours just to submit my daughter's school admission form. Only if they had smart queueing system, visible to the customers, i would have predicted my turn and done few things from the market instead of sitting and waiting. Literally wasted 2.5 hours.

Shame you can't give them Zero STARS as Slough Borough Council are inadequate have been under-performing for over 20 years! How many of us can hold down a paid job and under perform for that long? Only SBC who are a law unto themselves. They spend tax payers money with out a care then blame the current central government for lack of funds or their failure to deliver services. They robbed the local community of the chance to give the Queen a warm welcome when she opened the Britwell Centre (only a handful of locals turned up, heavily overshadowed by Slough Councillors and police..

The "bin" men persistently miss our collections a d their managers fail to do anything about it.
We pay for a service and we are not getting it.

After getting no help at Landmark Place in applying for a school place, I was sent to The Library in the Curve. Luckily the lady in reception sympathised with the fact that I was being shunted around. She said it wasn't actually her job but she helped me create an account, wait for a confirmation email from the school admissions team and helped me follow the instructions. I am dyslexic and am so grateful for the help she gave, didn't catch her name, she was Asian probably in 40's. Thank You. The rating above is for Landmark place and I would rate the Curve

Slough Council is the epitome of incompetence. If ...

Slough Council is the epitome of incompetence. If you wanted to teach business people how NOT to run an organisation, this would be it. Council tax - was due a refund, but nothing received for 8 months. I sent numerous emails, all of them ignored. I rang numerous times, and finally got through - explained the situation and they stated I will receive it in a couple of months time. Nice, no rush then. I have little confidence in actually getting my money back.

After having my bins not collected correctly for well over a month now I would rate Slough Borough Council as contemptible and worthless. As far as I'm concerned they're taking my hard earned taxes and using it to keep themselves in their useless and cushy jobs. I will be withholding part of my council tax payments until these useless fools sort themselves out.

Most of the staff are friendly and give great customer service.

I had a phone call from someone from the Benefit's service who didn't give his name and didn't have the adequate information to assess my claim.

September 27/09/17 at 9am.

He then tried being rude and didn't seem to have any real idea of my claim.

I had to leave the call as he was obviously looking for someone to unload his stress on.

I would advice people to record phone call's from the benefit's service as he was unprofessional and looking for an argument.

It turn's out his name is Paul Webster in the Benefit's service.

He continued to e mail me all day long even after a phone call.

Slough borough council employee doesn't like the new location as they will have to walk through Slough high street to get to the car park and they are too scared to do that!- repprted by the local newspaper! Absolutely shocking. Fire her! We don't want someone like that looking after our business!

I visited a health event in my local community tha...

I visited a health event in my local community that was organised by our local borough. I met and spoke to some of the Commissioning Support Officers from the Clinical Commissioning Group Team that were present at this event and I was spoken very rudely and sarcastically by one of the staff by the name of Vanita Dutta. Not only that she didn't even fully listen to my concerns and constantly kept interrupting me when I was talking and then started making derogatory remarks to me. I am in the process of putting in a formal complaint against this staff member with the council as part of their complaints procedure and am not happy with the service provided by this person. Incidentally one of her colleagues who was there told me in a separate conversation that Vanita normally behaves in this way and can be very rude and that she told her that she had all sorts of problems getting on with various staff including managers whilst she was previously working for Tower Hamlets Council and then effectivity been given the boot before joining Slough Council. It doesn t surprise me however I will not attend such event again.

Really really disappointed/angry/annoyed at the lack of service i got from Slough Borough Council. Spoke to someone in the customer services team by the name of Danielle who was just plain rude up until i put her in her place!

Having read the negative reviews that other people have left, i completely understand their frustration with Slough Borough Council.

Really need to sort this out. Utter shambles.

I'm well aware that this place catches people at t...

I'm well aware that this place catches people at their worst moments but the problems are made so much worse by the employees here. I literally needed someone to print a piece of paper and it proved to be too much for them. I would happily pay double my council tax if it meant getting some people in there who were familiar with what effort and kindness feel like. A second grader with a crayon could have this place running better than it currently is.

Absolutely useless. Hung up on when asked to speak to someone else, got assigned a new social lettings person was not told our old one left or that we have a new one for a year, they only told me because I called them. I have called for over 12 weeks left voicemails and nobody has gotten in touch. Have mould landlord didn't do anything, council did nothing, had to buy our own dehumidifier also living with baby and someone who suffers from eczema and asthma. Very annoying, very useless and very very rude. Will be moving away from slough because of the lack of advice/help the council offer.

Firstly can i say it is a pity their is not a zero star option.I must echo the sentiments of other posters.My late mother Mrs G M Becks was the victim of 15 years of harassment and abuse by a neighbour and even with video evidence which was not even looked at absolutely nothing was done to protect her as a result she spent the last five years of her life in a chair in her front room until she died at the age of 93.A few days after her death i received a visit from the housing department to tell me that whatever happened i would be loosing my home.I had lived at 22,Derwent Drive since 1956 and had spent the last 30 years as a carer to both of my parents(my father passed away in 1998)and sure enough after keeping me in a state of anxiety foe 22 months i was evicted into the street with the lose of 90% on everything i had owned it being 'disposed' of.My late mother and i received no support at any time.I have posted a link to a great deal of information on twitter if anyone is interested.I am determined that this will not go unrequited.Andrew Charles Becks

shocking people that run this council! the reviews left about them previously are all true and nothing has improved. Rarely answer the phone and when they do, just blatantly rude. Deliberately unhelpful, lazy, basic manners don't even exist, and emails ignored. The whole lot should be sacked.

I am trying to help out a tenant of mine who has been trying to get housing benefit for over a year. I am now in the process of evicting her and her two children because the council not dealt with her case - apparently not even turning up for a court hearing. They have also apparently accused her and me of lying about the rent, hiding information and fraud. All not true and outrageous. Is this stupidity or corruption??

Terrible service, does anyone work there, it would be nice if they answered the phone and knew how to help, they don't seem to do anything, if they do answer the phone, they put you on hold to another line so by the time you actually get through, your in a bad mood, useless, pointless, waste of tax payers money

There is a good reason for all the 1* reviews. Any responsible organisation would address the culture of poor service and customer dissatisfaction, but not Slough Council. Too much nepotism, racism (dont expect good treatment if you are not asian), corruption and incompetence. the housing benefits dept needs iinvestigating. how many people go into rent arrears due to their delays in processing the most basic housing benefit claims? the staff at the Landmark place office reception are rude and deliberately unhelpful. i am waiting for someone to slap one of them due to the way they speak to people. it would be well deserved.

Since I saw lot of bad reviews I thought I would share my positive experiance with the Births and deaths registry office . The lady Jacquie I interacted with was wonderful and very efficient. I had gone for the citizenship application via NSC. The whole thing was done in 15-20mins ,and the swanky new office at curve is fantastic.
