A beautiful and serene "park", the Arb is a great place to walk, run and explore. The plants and trees are well cared for and there are some great views. Deer and other wildlife are unafraid of human contact and will often linger nearby.

The arboretum is so large that there are a variety of things to do! There is the peony garden, long walks, visiting the river, playing in large fields, and more! Some of the park is accessible to wheelchairs (like the peony garden), which is wonderful!

The Arb is Ann Arbor's saving grace in my opinion. A quote from Travels With Charley comes to mind: "There's a cathedral hush here. Perhaps the thick soft bark absorbs sound and creates a silence." People respect the arb, maybe because it's the nearest nature area. In early spring there were really nice daffodils

Excellent place to visit where you can see beautiful peony beds and enjoy a moment of peace.
The park is fundamentally a slope that has the entrance at one end and the river at the other.
Flower beds are beautiful in summer when you can see the flowers displaying all their beauty.
On the river bank there are tables and chairs where you can have a picnic.
If you go in the summer it is necessary to wear sports clothing and shoes to be able to walk comfortably. A hat and sunscreen can be of help because although cold temperatures are extreme in winter; In summer the sun is no less forgiving.
Bringing water is not too much, although there are some places in the park where you can get it.
Admission is free.

LET'S ENJOY IT

I visit here at least 1-2 week with my doggo. We (and especially he) loves it. Beautiful space with lots of winding trails and some formal gardens (love the peonies!) Only concerns are: at times it is very busy and somewhat noisy. Some people play music off of their phones, or large gaggles of college kids meander about, sometimes there's drones, and often the hospital helicopters are standing by or flying. Lastly, the train: it's not fenced off, is very loud and I get worried doggo will bolt and jump on front of it. Maybe I'm paranoid, but what u gonna do. Still love it!

This is probably the best place in Ann Arbor. I love going for walks here. Sometimes I will go tubing down the Hearon River and get out here. I will go on picnics here. It s just a great refuge from the city it feels like you re in the middle of a forest. You definitely have to go here if you re in Ann Arbor.

A true piece representative of the natural beauty of Michigan. There are numerous walkways of varying trepidation for all types. Massive trees and a major walkway running alongside the Huron river rapids allows spectators to watch the successes and failures of the people traversing the river by kayak, tube, or canoe. Plenty of picnic areas and if you venture deep enough you enter these massive fields and valleys surrounded by wooded trails to explore. I can't wait to go back and explore the place even more.

A beautiful place to go on a long walk, with lots of different botanical collections representing various temperate forest ecosystems. There are many, many trails to explore, but the place really isn't all that big, so don't worry about getting lost. There is a beautiful creek running right along the Northern boundary of the Arboretum. Particularly beautiful in fall (when leaves are changing) and spring (when everything is flowering).

I've always loved the Arb. As a student, it was perfect for hanging out in the summer. It's still great to go to for nearby outdoors stuff. It's also conveniently located near the hospital in case you work there and need a place to sneak off to.

As a local townie I always grew up in and around the Arb, but I didn't fully appreciate it until I moved away and missed all of the green and the river background noise. Year-round it is a gorgeous place and the peony collection this summer is astounding.

This is a wonderful park. Tons of trails thru wooded areas and along the river. There's also a beautiful garden area and open grassy places. There are events here as well, plays and performances. Great place to spend the day with friends and family, or just to go for some outdoor exercise.

I love this arboretum. It has great trails through the whole huge expanse. You can end up walking for hours and still not cross the same area. They also have a lot of flat areas for picnics and there's places along the river to put in your boat

My Saturday has been transformed into a beautiful program in the Arboretum to see the most beautiful and amazing flowers, petonias, of different colors and different sizes. The ride was complete by lying on the grass to breathe the pure morning sun air, listening to the singing of the various birds. The only drawback was finding a parking lot with vacancies. No more, perfect program.

Beautiful paths, though the flowers can be very seasonal. For instance, the peony garden is underwhelming when the peony season is over. This is to be expected, and the rest of the grounds are well worth walking anytime, and there are many scenic spots to sit on benches and talk with a friend while admiring nature. The arboretum is perfect for dates, conversations, exercise, and solo reflection.

This is my favorite place in washtenaw county. It's a breath of fresh air in a large busy city. Its a beautiful locale for a photo shoot, a run, a walk, a game of ultimate frisbee, or any activity really. I really enjoy to have picnics here or simply sit and enjoy the sounds of the nature around me. This place is magical. Its an Ann Arbor must see!

The Arboretum is the perfect respite from the urbanity of Ann Arbor. On days when you just can't stand the sight of human civilization for another minute, you can come here and pretend better than anywhere that the world exists only of natural flora and fauna, untainted by the maw of development. The area is bursting with greenery and is at its most lovely during the spring and summer. You'll have chipmunks dash in front of your feet, watch ducks paddle down the stream, maybe even spot a bat hanging in the foliage (we did). If you're down for hiking, wear your bug spray and long pants and enjoy the just-challenging-enough network of trails. Or if you prefer to go for a run, stick to the paved path. You can enter from the staircase off the sidewalk at the Towsley Center at the UM hospital, at the main entrance/peony garden, or off Geddes Ave.

I went there for a nice walk. I walked in thinking why isn't this called The Ann Arboretum? That's all I thought about, so I didn't enjoy the nature. Didnt even realize I was in it. So Sad.
