I went here on an orthopedic doctors recommendation. I tried on 5 pair of sneakers each one better than the other. I have been foot and back pain free for 5 months!! I sent my daughter in the next day with same results!
I went in there with my husband and infant to buy my brother a gift card and foam roller. Was being basically watched the whole time by a young gentleman that works there because we were taking the car seat out of the carriage and re adjusting it. He must have thought we were stealing or doing something sneaky. By no means do we look like thieves. After dropping 140 dollars on my brother there on our way out he basically accuses us of stealing the foam roller asking in a rather rude way can I ring that out for you in front of everyone at the store. It was kind of embarrassing. I manage a pharmacy and have done retail last 13 years of my life and I would NEVER suggest anything like this without being 200% certain. If anything I would ask a colleague if it was rung out before opening my ignorant mouth. We were coming back to buy a pair for each of us, I will not be coming back here now. I did not like that and found it grossly unprofessional.
I picked up long distance running again recently and I came to New England Running Co. in beverly to upgrade my foot gear. The person that worked with me was incredibly thorough and helped me navigate my choices from about 8 pairs of sneakers down to the right pair. I ended going with a pair of New Balances that were a little bit bigger than I typically wear but on his recommendation I gave it a shot. After a couple runs I realized that the increase in size wasn't going to work for me so I took them back. The gentleman that assisted me was very understanding and even waived the typical restock fee. The pair of sneakers I left with that day have become on of the best investments I've made in my running and I will for sure be returning when I need my next pair.

I went into the store the other day in need of a new pair of trail shoes, something to replace my Montrails. Dave spent a considerable amount of time with me trying out different brands/styles. I left with my first pair of Salomon Speedcross shoes. The man who served me was so gentle, and at the same time, really knew his stuff. He analysed how my foot functions and helped me find a shoe that provides my feet with the best support and comfort for running. I will definitely choose this store again when I need more running gear as it was such an enjoyable, stress-free experience.

Beyond five star customer service. I had purchased two pairs of goodr sunglasses for xmas here and a week later when I had the chance to wrap them for xmas realized there was a pair missing from the box. I immediate called the store and told them. They told me to come down and they will get me taken care of. So I did, just expecting to pick up the missing pair. Without hesitation they replaced the missing pair and because I had to drive all the way back to the store, gave me a completely FREE pair of goodr sunglasses. Now that is amazing customer service. Spent roughly a billion years trying on pair after pair of shoes in search of the right ones with zero complaint from the woman who managed to keep up her enthusiasm while helping me. Staff is knowledgeable and relentlessly helpful.
Staff was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Helped me find the perfect shoe, being a former runner, who is now about 50lbs overweight and trying to get back into it. I will highly recommend others to go here for their running needs.
Remarkable service. I had never really been a runner but I was getting into a situation where I was going to have to run every day, I had heard good things about New England Running Company, so I gave it a shot. The minute I walked in someone was there to help me, I never knew there was that much to know about buying the correct running shoe. The woman watched me walk and got at least 5 different model shoes that she stated would work best with my gait. I was able to try them all and run with them outside to see which one felt best. The service was great and the prices were competitive with online prices. I highly recommend them for all your running needs.

worst customer service experience i have ever had. Three employees ganged up on me to tell me I had a bad attitude after they did not have the size correct, color in stock and then suddenly nothing I wanted in stock. Very unwelcoming very rude.

I drove all the way up to Beverly from Acton because this is one of the only stores in the area that has Gor-Tex running shoes, and definitely by far the best selection. The owner spent nearly an hour with me, bringing me every Gor-Tex and Clima-Shield shoe they have, from the big running brands like Brooks, New Balance and Saucony to more trail oriented brands (they now have a whole section of the store devoted to trail running and hiking) like Salomon, Montrail (now owned by Columbia) and Hoka. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable about running shoes, and from hearing conversations with other customers, it was clear that his staff is as well. I would highly recommend this store to any runner, from the serious marathoner to the casual weekender.
New trail running selection is top notch. If your trail running at Willowdale or Bradley Palmer this is the place to get your gear. Top trail gear from Salomon are a staple here.

Disappointing customer service.
I was initially told they would do a free running assessment to help me find the right shoe, but I was sorely disappointed by the lack of interest from the staff. I had to initiate the interaction myself upon entering the store. I wasn't asked anything about my running style/habits/current shoe problems/etc. After arbitrarily being handed shoes, I asked if a running assessment could be done, and the woman just awkwardly watched me run 20 feet outside and didn't provide much insight.
I was hoping to get more enthusiasm and knowledge from the staff. I could have been unlucky with the person I interacted with (maybe everyone else is awesome), but I wouldn't recommend this place if you're looking to get substantial advice for selecting a running shoe.

Called the store today as I was badly in need of new running shoes. The guy at the store was able to look up what I had bought last time and was able to find the same shoe/size in stock. He texted me a picture to make sure I liked the color. And to top it off, it was delivered to my house about 3 hours later and left by my front door. How s that for service and no contact delivery!! Excellent footware advice especially for runners. They accept old sneakers in any condition to send to Africa. Those too degraded to be worn are ground up to make playground underlayment.
Associate forgot to apply discount code, it was only a couple of $ so I didn't want to come back over it but nevertheless it spoiled the experience a little bit

I went to the Running Company to buy a new pair of running shoes. I have been plagued by metatarsalgia and wanted to get advise for the best shoe for the condition. The gentleman spent a good deal of time in identifying the best running shoe for me. I think that I tried on at least a half dozen different shoes. I settled on a Brooks Adrenaline and am thrilled with the result. My pain has almost disappeared. This once again proves that having an expert advise you on a purchase is the best approach. I would be remiss if I did not point out that I purchased the Brooks well below market price and I also purchased a new pair of Merrell trail shoes.

After not running for a very long time, I needed proper advice on what to do. They have been AWESOME in helping me. They answer all of my questions without making me feel like a newbie. When it comes to buying what I need. They never try selling me something that I don't need yet, or upsell me something do to my lack of experience. I even brought my 80+ year old Mother to have them fit her with walking shoes. You won't find this kind of customer service at many other places. Whether you're experienced, or a newbie like me. It's well worth a visit.
Being an 8-1/2 shoe size I'm able to try on the display shoe at most stores. I was quietly going through the trail runners when I was told that they didn't want me to do that. She wanted me to give her the size so she could go out back and bring me back the same size as the display. I really am a rule follower but I just couldn't think of a reason for this! I just left aggravated and dropped 160$ at REI.

Bad customer service
The lady I had to help me wasn t helpful at all. They didn t have my size in two of the sneakers and the only sneaker they had in my size was too expensive for me. When she knew I wasn t interested in the shoe because the price was too high she stopped helping me and disappeared. She was standing in the back. Finally after ten minutes she came out and went to the front desk. I went over to her to ask her what was the name of the other sneakers I could wear and she answered me very rudely. As if she was being bothered. She hardly helped me in the first place. She does work here, correct?
She totally wasn t interested in putting any effort into helping a customer when she knew I wasn t buying the expensive sneaker they had in my size. Very rude and childish.
I was embarrassed for her so I walked out. Was going to tell her off but didn t want to stoop to her level. This is customer service today? Shameful. Beware if your not buying a sneaker there, they don t want to be bothered.

Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon to pick up a pair of trail shoes. They were busy but jumped right in to help me out. I had an idea of what I wanted but the wonderful staff offered me some other options to try. In the end I knew these Brooks were the right fit. This store and staff have always been amazing.
