It's pretty small for the price. The setup is cool though, with the giant tank in the center and the penguins on the bottom floor. The whole thing is kept up really well. It's always clean, both for the animals and for the people. It's very educational, too. There's a lot to read and there's a speaker at the top of the tank to ask questions to and learn from.

VERY EXPENSIVE ... I agree with the many comments about this being VERY PRICEY , as 1 person said get out your wallet if you visit ... ......was in the area & Was going to visit the place till I seen how much it was going to cost on their website They consider any child / teen 12 & over as an adult so going by that tickets for adults are $26.95 each for 6 adults ( 4 actual adults & two teens) = $161.70 + an additional $37 for non member parking = $198 70 just for a 4 hour visit ?? NO WAY !!! I knew Boston is not a cheap city as I have been there before, but this was a total sticker shock for us. I know another city that has an aquarium we visited last year only charged $15 for adults aged 16 & over $12 for teens aged 12 to 16 and only $5 for parking There is a fine line between fair pricing and rip off pricing and they have crossed it, We took in a movie instead and saved about $100 ( and parking was FREE )

I am not a fan of big cities and Boston aquarium is smack dab in the busy section. We went on a Saturday. Parking was convenient but expensive. $40 for 3 hours. We waited an hour to get tickets because only two cashiers working. The aquarium offers all you would expect in terms of interesting animals The layout and flow of people was not great. It was extremely crowded and hard to move through exhibits. Buy tickets in advance if you know you are going and try to go on a non busy day to enjoy it.

Small but varied and well organized aquarium. The staff are attentive and ready to answer our questions. Several fun pools for young and old, where you can touch certain varieties. Lots of entertainment (feeding ...)
Prefer a combo ticket (grouped) with IMAX film or whale watch, more advantageous.

A great aquarium with entry of different and interesting animals, although it is not an all day thing. There is also plenty of information for kids displayed round the place coupled with friendly staff who are willing to answer questions.

Do not go if you re an adult and an avid saltwater aquarist. Really bad to average tanks. Their center tank has zero coral which means they have no idea how to take care of aquariums. Waste of money.

The aquarium is one of my favorite places to go to in Boston. The staff is excellent, and they are always making changes and improvements to exhibits. The cost of a membership pays for itself if you live in the area.

We love this place so much that it is where I proposed to my wife and where we ultimately decided to get married. As an event venue it is unmatched. The transformation was astounding and the staff made sure that every little detail was perfect.

Staff is very nice and willing to explain. There is a very large and easily visible sea turtle. The tub is very pretty.
In short, not as huge as that
Of Genoa, but perhaps more fun for 5-year-olds like my son.

Amazing place to visit if your in the city. Right off the blue line. The penguin exhibit is awesome. They have a ray touch pool for kids right at the front. Definitely worth checking out if you have kids.

This Aquarium is phenomenal I can't believe it took us so long to go here. The seals, penguins, and large tank are the highlights unfortunately the Ray and shark touch tank was closed. We would definitely come back, everything was well maintained and all the staff we talked to was highly knowledgeable.

This place was so much fun! Petting sharks and rays was the FIRST stop - amazing! The displays host unique, beautiful, interesting varieties of marine life, with friendly staff to answer questions. Live shows and feeding times enhance the experience. Very family-friendly. So much to see!

We became members and even though a good portion of the aquarium was closed it was a wonderful experience at 9:00 on Sunday morning. The staff was super helpful and friendly. We could easily walk without frequent stops. It was really a nice Sunday morning stroll looking at some really calming sea life. The penguins were super talkative. Excellent experience. We are going back next weekend

Super! The aquarium has 4 floors and a 3D IMAX cinema in the front building. It also has a well-stocked gift shop. The cost is medium high but it is worth it. It could take you the whole day to be there.

There are giant sea turtles in the center tank. There are 3 types of penguins at the bottom where they have lots of space. The exhibits haven't changed much in the past 10 years but it's definitely worth going once.

The Aquarium in Boston is definitely worth a visit. It is not the largest one out there, but very nicely set up with a mesmerizing water tank in the middle and a spiral walk way all the way around. There is quite a lot to see: amazing penguins, graceful sea lions with view of the harbor, octopi, giant sea turtles, anaconda, electric eel, moray eels (pictured), poison dart frogs from amazon, piranhas, and more. Prepare to see a lot of children here, and bring your own (my friend's baby loved it).

Been there many times.

Been there many times.
Walking around the huge center tank is like being under water. A ramp spirals up from below the bottom of the tank to above it. There is a big (fake) corral reef as the center piece. You start off below it reef and as you spiral up at the end looking down like you would at the shore. Lots of fish in this tank. Three huge turtles in the center tank mix in with all the fish but appear to be looking for more room to swim. Who knew see turtles are brussel sprouts and broccoli. Great fun to watch the divers feeding each fish too.
Many penguins with several breeds represented. Wondering amongst all the penguins with their funny personalities will transport you to places far far away. There are no large penguins, I'm sure do to space constraints.
The shallow touch pools are full of rays, some quite large.
The water view and outdoor seal area adds to the atmosphere. Staff is very interactive with the fish, birds and animals.
All the fish look healthy and the water is clear. Some of the smaller tanks are so crowded you wonder how they do it. But it makes for great schools if fish to watch.
This is not a large place, but the layout appears expansive.
Parking is expensive, so I would recommend mass transit, if possible.
Figure one to two hours will get you through. Beside the building is a new IMAX theatre. We saw something about the Amazon, which was really good. Faniel Hall and the North end is a short walk and worth a visit.

Penguins. Sea Lions. Turtles. Sharks. Manta Rays. ...

Penguins. Sea Lions. Turtles. Sharks. Manta Rays. They have it all! The New England Aquarium usually has a ridiculously long ling for a reason; it's a great aquarium! Whether to bring your date or your family, I would highly recommend this adventure-filled venue. There is a four story coral reef filled with fish. There are starfish and manta ray touch tanks. Every exhibit just leaves you wanting even more. I recommend buying tickets online in advance so you don't have to wait in the long line outside.
