What has Artis become beautiful! Especially the butterfly garden
Great zoo, but the lions have definitely not enough space!
a must see in Amsterdam. a bit traditional, but always informative and lots of things to do and see for all ages.
There is not a lot of parking place, so the best way to come there is by tram or bus
Was already more than 5 years ago that we were in Artis. Much added. Excellent park. Worth going along.
A small cute zoo, that combines the feeling of walking in the park with the experience of seeing lots of animals. This is a great place to go with kids, they have a good playgrounds inside.
Remains a fantastic zoo in the middle of Amsterdam. The only one I miss very much from my childhood is Tanja the hippo.
The well-kept and easily visited city zoo is a pleasant experience if you have a few more days to devote to the city's minor attractions, very suitable if you have children. The zoo is very well kept and easily accessible even for the disabled, the animals are in adequate and well-kept spaces. Inside there are rooms organized for lunch or snacks. Reptile and aquarium are part of the experience included in the standard Artis ticket. The planetarium is worth a visit.
Micropia near the zoo is a beautiful and interesting place, even for adults
Beautiful . Parking is at the end of the street at the shower 26 all day with 2 more expensive than the garden ticket
Beautiful! The animal are so close We really enjoyed our day :)
A wonderful and huge zoo, it's worth spending a whole day
Very large and well-endowed zoo. The best: the aquarium. The only thing I did not like is that they charge the map at 2. It seems too added to the price of admission.
Always nice to visit Artis. Not too large-scale, for a large part, animals have enough space. And there are always curious animals that 'touch' me. This time the Porcupine ..
Parking is abnormally expensive. Not recommendable. 6h for 40
I personally think this animal park no longer meets current standards.
Many cool animals but they've got way too little space!
Amazing zoo. Very well maintained. Be sure to watch the feeding of the sea lions at 11.30. I did feel sad though for the caged animals.
Excellent zoo. Lovely place to spend a relaxed afternoon. The aquarium was beautiful and my favourite part. Always sad seeing big animals in cages but all of the little ones were having a great time.
Artis is more spatially organized than before, but has lost many animal species. Too bad there are no polar bears and eagles anymore. it has become more fun for the youngest children and therefore much more interesting for family outings.
nice that it survived the financial problems of the 1970s well.
Enough to see. Decently. Rather quiet. You can keep a good corona test distance.
Today very busy due to the vomar action ..
Spider bug but always very nice
Very nice but may be done something about the planting because you see a lot of animals not or not good. Pity. A lot of animals are no longer there, so lofts are very empty, very unfortunate for the money you spend on such a day out
Very nice zoo and organized. We saw so many animals and it was a nice walk. The aquarium is a must!
Superb zoo right in there middle of Amsterdam lots to see
Very nice zoo
Many varieties of species with a freer environment than many other European structures
It would need more cleaning
Really good zoo, especially enjoyable with good weather. Bring your own food though because it is terribly expensive in the restaurants.
What a zoo. I was particularly impressed by the butterfly house, the reptiles and the sea lions. As a visitor, you are very close to some things, or right in the middle of it. One gets the impression that one tries to communicate the animals and their creatures to the visitors in a modern and compatible way. Quality not quantity. Price level is very high, but worth every penny.
Always a nice day out with the kids.
Easily accessible, well-paid parking.
An amazing place. Required for a visit to this otherwise boring city. Take a break of 4 hours for this visit. If you want to see everything calm and have time for rest, coffee and a meal, you can best spend all day!
It's great that more and more spacious places are being made for animals
Very child friendly place. Lots of animals Md a planetarium and aquarium as well.
Beautiful zoo, beautifully maintained, nostalgic appearance
Nice zoo. It's not very big nor is it the most sophisticated but it's a nice place to just walk around and see the many animals. Kids love it as they can get very close to many of the animals. During the weekend they have tours, these are great and I really recommend them.
Superb place, we spent 3 hours to walk and visit. Nice space for most animals. Some seem a little cramped, turn in circles. Aquarium and tropical greenhouse
Much has already been improved, but most animals still have very little space. Plus are the enthusiastic volunteers who know everything about the animals.
Wonderful place for a family go-out. Price little bit expensive though.
First x that I was there. Not to be compared with the other zoos. Very beautiful because of its antiquity!
Beautiful zoo, we come there every year. Park is becoming more and more animal-friendly, and there is more greenery. Very nice to see.
Easily accessible by car, but expensive parking. But yes Amsterdam.
We were there now after Corona. Well laid out, good walking routes. People were well spread around the park. I never felt embarrassed. It is a pity that not everything was accessible through the Corona, but very understandable.
Beautiful "old fashioned" zoo. Really a park. More beautiful than Blijdorp.
Peaceful park with beautiful scenery and lot of different animals
This is still a zoo and no animal should be placed in captivity for our enjoyment. But compared to other zoo's, especially those in the U.S., ARTIS does a better job of trying to be an educational, humane, and also beautiful place to take a family or go on a date. There's a wide variety of exhibits, from the more popular to more exotic zoo animals. But whether that's a bad or good thing is up to you.
Always stays fun. You also see that animal friendliness is getting more and more attention. A bit expensive, but with action cards it is easy to do.
Park is very well maintained, clean and very friendly staff
Went away with Deka cards. Was great. There were people who explained about the animals. A lot of space. Only with the inner space at the aquarium it was confusing in terms of direction.
Really good Zoo.... free entry with IAmsterdam card and loads to see
Brilliant for a day out and the Botanical garden is so clpse aswell
A very large, well-kept zoo. A lot of places without barriers. Open frames. The lemur ran over my legs. Animals are not stressed (only the Chimps are not very active). I did not like a few things. The catwalk for Lviv is very small. Comparable to the range of two crocodiles. Insects very badly exposed. Some do not see - steaming water on the glass. Quite a few restaurants, places to sit in the whole garden with plants. You can have your own breakfast at the table. The prices are very expensive. Drink 250 ml - 3 euros. Small fries - 5 euros. In the planetarium, the film is displayed only in Dutch, completely ignorant of English-speaking tourists. Access to the toilet is free. Very much. You can not smoke in the terrarium of the whole zoo. This is a very big obstacle - you need 5-6 hours to visit the whole zoo without a hurry. I recommend it anyway!
A zoo in the center of Amsterdam. The updated renovations really improved the experience for me.
Most crowded, few animals seen. And 15 euros for parking? Last time.
A lovely place to spend the day with friends or family. There are lots of animals to see and there are plenty of reasonable eating places too.
yes pretty nice but have been to quite a few zoos but found it fairly small and ridiculously expensive parking
A great day out perfect fot kid and adults. Take your own picnic
Nice zoo! However, volunteers are plentiful, they provide a lot of incorrect information and some have limited social capacities!
Above expectations, I consider that the Zoo is not artificial, contact with animals in their reality, nature. Worth a visit
Not as big as for example the Berlin zoo, but makes up for it in variety
Super really beautiful and the animals very close to admire and the interaction for the children with the animals are great
I went with my 2 year old son and it was fun! I thought that there were few animals and that they could better maintain it! What I really like is that the lions have extremely little space and look very skinny and tired / lazy that has touched me .. that such beautiful animals are neglected even in nl! That was really a shame to see. But generally nice to go to!
Very famous animals of Paris can be seen here. Watching the girraffe and zebra was the favourite part of this zoo. There are different breeds of monkeys. A lot of reptiles and birds too. Another amazing sight was watching the lion feed ok it's prey... Such amazing fauna beauty.
Kids will love it more...
Yes great :) if you come to Amsterdam with children this is really nice, there are other things besides the animals as well, such as the Planetarium (went with school) but anyway all the animals and the atmosphere and the place are great
It was our second visit to this zoo and we came out totally enthusiastic. This time we were there with two small children (2 years and 5 months) and it was worth it. There are enough places to play, baby changing rooms and the toilets are also family-friendly.
You can buy food everywhere. The animals make a good impression in contrast to some other zoos. We would come again and I can only recommend it again and again to see it for yourself.
Highly recommended, a must if you visit the city of Amsterdam. I was very surprised that the place is very clean and the animals are very well cared for. My visit to the aquarium was a pleasure for me and my family. I would definitely return again.
Greetings from Reynosa Mexico
Artis is a great zoo in the middle of AMS. It has all the animals you would expect + a few more - especially the Aquarium is larger than you would expect. The food is overpriced and just "ok" - I give 4 stars and not 5 because some animals (like the wolfs etc.) have a pretty small area to wander around. I would expect that a modern zoo would make the concious decision to only have animals that can be kept well in captivity.
