The most beautiful zoo for me so far. Animals have enough room to move. Many also walk among the visitors. Lots of shade and opportunities for rest and snacks right on the grass. It is literally a relaxed space for people and animals. Really worth a visit.

One of the best zoos I've been to. Plenty of attractions for children and grown-ups, a very decent restaurant, and a high-quality zoo. You can also bring your picnic.
The price appears quite steep (~20 normal ticket, ~14 under 9 years old), but it is worthwhile.
The zoo is open in the evening on Saturdays with concerts.

A really nice, big and modern zoo. Also very child-friendly in my eyes. I found the park and the small garden pieces very clean and well maintained. Definitely visit when you're in Amsterdam. We were comfortably on the way and spent the whole afternoon in the zoo.

What a nice zoo in the heart of Amsterdam! We liked the atmosphere there very much as the park is attractively green. There is also a diverse exhibition of beautiful animals. Certainly the elephant enclosure is worth it! The only negative thing I found was that the aquarium building is very dark. If you are viewing the aquariums, chances are that you will hit the steps for children with your shins. Very annoying and painful! In terms of parking there is a large parking lot next to the zoo. We happened to be there at the right time when a few cars were driving away, leaving a spot. 10 minutes later there was a long queue. Something to keep in mind that you have an alternative parking space in mind! Parking for a day for visitors costs 15 euros for non-members (at the time of writing).

I wrote a few years ago a very poor review for this zoo, complaining about small enclosures and general bad vibes. Having revisited recently with family I have to say the overall impression is much improved. We ve bought a year pass so I can take our son regularly, and we ve enjoyed 3 visits so far in the past few weeks. There has been improvements to the park, in particular the safari enclosure, home to elephants, giraffes and zebras. There s a great walkway which takes you down to water level in the middle of their swimming lake - a nice effect. An expensive trip for a family, with only a small discount for child tickets, so plan to spend a long day here to make the most.

Far too expensive for what you see also the parking is out of proportion 2 adults and 1 child of 2 entrance and parking fee 65 euros something to eat or drink is then not. After 3 hours of quiet walking you are through the park. Not recommended Blijdorp or almost every other zoo is more fun. So certainly not value for money

It was more than 45 years since I was there. Was a nice experience again. Just a pity that a lot of renovations were made so that various parts were not accessible. Furthermore, very beautiful. Parking fee was a bit on the high side namely 15.00. Zoo is definitely recommended. Everything nicely spacious and well run ....

Food over priced . Zoo is worth a visit friendly staff not very good for disable people . They have wheel chairs free to use but you won't access everything in a wheel chair but there is lots to see I say take a pack lunch with you though. But all in 5 stars staff good lots to see and very relaxing when you need space alone you find lots of spots to sit away from crowds....

Artis is a fun and clean zoo. We have been there for about 3 hours and we have not been bored for a moment.
The old buildings have been beautifully preserved and used functionally.

Was nice and pleasant or pleasantly busy.

As a visiting Canadian, this was a good zoo compared to other zoos in other countries that I've seen. The zoo is a good size. I found there was some interesting animals at this zoo that I've never seen anywhere else. Animals such as a black spotted Jaguar, active Sloth, Bats, Red panda, wolves, Snow owls and a Chameleon. It was interesting because they also stressed in their messaging the impact of humans in the environment. It was a strong environmental message conveyed throughout the zoo. Park was relatively clean. We had ice cream from the ice cream stand by the entrance which was good.

Nice zoo. Really enjoyed yesterday. Also happy to see that they try to be more aware of the food supply. The subscription is highly recommended, you can get it out quickly. Could perhaps be a little more child-friendly. I think the parent and child toilet is a good start. Now enough light at the changing place in the restaurant 'the two cheetahs' and think a little more about how children can best see the animals. At Amersfoort Zoo, the little ones can see everything just a little better without parents having to lift them all the time.

Had a great 3-4 hours at the zoo, public areas well kept, clean toilets and plenty of them. The planting and gardening happening around the zoo keeps it looking nice. There was a good variety of animals to see, they look well cared for, it was a hot day and the animals had plenty of shade and water .
The only let down was the sea lion tanks which looked quite grubby and green. Overall worth the entrance price paid.

Big enough garden and you have to pay for the map, instead of having big signs with the whole garden. In most animals the place is tolerable. There is a snack and coffee shop. The aquarium quite poor.

Really cool experience. Saw loads of animals and the planetarium was really cool...I had to watch a Dutch version but it was still really pretty. It's a good long walk around the whole place and you can do it in about 4 hours with stopping to look at everything. The day I went was super hot and most of the outside animals were very sleepy but still cute! My favourite place is the butterfly enclosure....they have the tiniest monkeys you've ever soon in your life walking around...super cute! Lots of cafeteria/restaurants around and the drinks/food is kinda expensive however. Some nice areas to stop and picnic in there too!

Nice zoo and beautifully landscaped (the flower beds everywhere are really beautiful). I regret that many animals have very little space (for example, the lions). But absolutely fun to do a day of Artis.

Gorgeous place where a barrier between people and animals is minimized. The zoo essentially creates microclimates for the animals to feel and home. Unlike many other zoo, the Amsterdam Zoo leaves you with a feeling that the animals have found a comfortable home that mimics their natural habitat. A must see for which you should dedicate a full day.
