Nice zoo. Many more animals than I initially expected. Also a lot in a nice design ...

Beautiful zoo, a lot to watch, lots of attractions for children (playgrounds, etc.) and a lot of places where you can eat, admiring the animals on the catwalks. I recommend

A hidden gem we stumbled upon just around the corner from our hotel. A huge array of animals, and we were happy to find that most animals were contained by moats rather than large intrusive fences. Great value for a great day out!

City centre zoo. Well worth a visit. Doesn't look big from the outside or maps however plenty to look at and needs a full day.

Very nice park. Animal shelters look good. Catering a bit pricey. I think that you have to pay 2 for a map on top of the entrance price.

A beautiful zoo. The number of snakes was small but the overall variety was good. Planetarium is very very good. Like a movie with a clock. You must go and watch.

A zoo that will occupy you a good part of the day, this zoo is very large but well signposted, it has many kinds of species from every continent, the zoo also has a magnificent aquarium.
This zoo is well located, in the heart of Amsterdam, it is also part of the I AMsterdam program, to reach the zoo by taking the tram.

Really nice place, a lot of nice things to see, seems to be a little ecosystem created for the animals...

One of the nicer zoo's in the Netherlands, near the center of Amsterdam.

The enclosures are not very big but very accessible. We could spot almost all animals and they are really used to having people around.
Some of the indoor enclosures can not be accessed due to corona measures. Also some routes are only one way and even prevent you from going back to that section.
Most enclosures are fairly clean and there is lots to be seen.
A very nice aquarium section and a very warm building dedicated to reptiles. We did see multiple separate enclosures with the same reptiles.
From the zoo you can see the surrounding city which is a very interesting combination.
For the fact that the zoo is in the city it's remarkably green.
Parking is relatively expensive but is it directly next to the entrance.

Nicely manicured zoo. Every time we see things that have not been noticed before. Highly recommended.

Every year I come to Artis with my family. You see that something is always being refurbished, really a beautiful zoo. We were there on Saturday during the summer holidays, then it is open until sunset and there are extra eateries and really delicious because then you don't have to keep an eye on time. Tip the sea lions are extra fun during feeding time.

Good zoo. It will be equally interesting to visit for both children and adults.

Real city zoo. Well renovated, more space for the animals and quiet walkways.

This has to be a must for any visitor to Amsterdam. I have been to this particular zoo 4 times and I always enjoy it. The zoo has loads of animals a lot of them very interesting. It also is a very well kept zoo and the animals clean and looked after. Another nice thing about this zoo is the huge Aquarium within the zoo itself housed in it's own building. Also some other buildings with different displays. It's a zoo you could spend all day at and never get bored. Please visit this zoo Highly recommend it. Can we reached easily on tram from city centre. Tram stop at entrance to zoo.

Super zoo. Expensive, but that is understandable, animals are expensive. Many beautiful renovated spaces.

Love to come here with my 3 year old daughter, but good for any age. Very much like the atmosphere and tranquility during weekdays. Gets more crowded on the weekends. Some animal cages are rather small, but it's a city zoo and they create the enclosures close to the natural habitat of the animals. On top of that they work with volunteers on the weekend and make it an informative place.

u cannot rlly call this a zoo with those depressed animals walking around back and forward bored

I loved the grounds the most. The gardens are so beautiful and I loved the tulips. They have an awesome selection of animals. The butterfly room was such a treat. I have no complaints about anything at this zoo. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed all of it.

Super day in this zoo !! The setting is beautiful, very green, well maintained we forget that we are in the heart of Amsterdam.

Artis Zoo is a most if you go to Amsterdam, it has a variety of animals, insects and fish, you must devote at least half a day to enjoy it.

Top quality and well maintained Zoo! So much you can do and see! Besides the animals you also have an aquarium, a planetarium and so much more! Don't leave Amsterdam without visiting Artis!

Nice zoo that continues to surprise. Small but you know that in the center of Amsterdam. So definitely worth the parking and admission to the price but that is also possible. Still -2 stars and that has everything to do with the hospitality industry. Lukewarm fries and ridiculously expensive sandwiches. Even if you can afford it, these prices are not in proportion. Real Dutch fries, not fresh but just out of the bag. Too bad this is a missed opportunity and reason to just bring something yourself.

Beautiful zoo but take your own food and drink because that is not cheap (3.25 for a can of fresh food I find something about)

We had such fun!! It was my first time in a zoo so I really enjoyed it! The zoo is huge and it has so many different species! You should have at least 3-4 hours available so you can see everything! There was a lot of people but it is really organized so we didn't wait long for the tickets! I think the ticket is a bit expensive but we had the iamsterdam cars so it was free for us!!

Very great zoo, the animals come up very close to the people, in some cases you can be in the animal's enclosure walking around with them.

It is wheelchair accessible and as a companion I can go there for free. First, get a free tickets at the cash register. But I do not have to stand in line for that

It's a small but charming zoo with an amazing butterfly pavilion and first house where you walk into an enclosure with the animals.

After entering, it seems to be fused with nature. This zoo system is very popular! Summer holiday usually takes a line, 20-30 minutes.
In terms of animal display, unless the birds and beasts that are conscious of flying and jumping and aggressive will set up the iron net fence, the others are separated from the small river, you can directly see the channel, and there is no obstruction of the picture!
It is one of the best zoos in many countries I have been to!

Best thing to do in Amsterdam with kids. Whole dat activity.

Nice and cozy zoo. Good measures around Covid-19. Restaurant has tasty fries and the hot dog was very good! Lots of animals and well maintained enclosures. Discount: Recommended for a day out.

Planetarium is perfect for the kids and also for adults :) Numerous types of animals with big open space. Playgrounds and cafes inside the zoo are very nice. I have a yearly membership card with my family. We are there almost once every 2 weeks.

Great venue, you can get up close with some of the animals and make beautiful photos & have a nice experience.

Great place to see a variety of animals from across the world. The aquarium in particular is amazing!

One of the oldest and best zoos in Europe. Good, creative enclosure design and happy well cared for animals. Micropia is well worth a visit too!

We went here as the standard tourist points such as the Dungeons are not great. Value for money the zoo is worth it.

You can't really fault the zoo, however the only slight issue was some of the enclosures which are quite small. The park will take you around 1.5 hours to walk around properly if you see all the animals.

Some nice walkthrough locations where you can be close to nature and the park is well kept. We used a Holland pass so the price was included, if we would have paid this would have been roughly 19-21.

Worth a visit

Great zoo. More interactive than most. One has small monkeys running around a greenhouse that you can walk through. Great for kids and worth the trip

Nice combination of interactive technology and real life microbes experienced mostly via microscopes. Not big but it takes time to be visited properly

Artis is also worth a visit in autumn. Beautiful colors of all leaves. Good to see that Artis has also taken good Corona measures for a pleasant visit.

We went to Artis and half of the locations were closed plus many of the animals were not even there ( for example elephants lions panthers). We paid 25 euros for nothing and I think that if half of the zoo is empty they should apply another lower prise.
