What an amazing zoo this is. There is a indoor area where the monkeys walk around you and the smallest ones are really cute. Outside there are elephants, giraffes, sea lions etc. The lemurs feeding time was really good and the staff are very informative. If you visit Amsterdam then this is a must! It is also very easy to get to.

What a beautiful park! The accommodation for the animals is becoming increasingly animal-friendly. Vogelhuis no longer looks like a pet store. Elephants have received a large stay.
Very large zoo with a huge biodiversity of animals and plants, the point I consider the most negative is the few snakes I had and only have one crocodile. Positive Points a huge variety of fish, the possibility that we can "interact" with some zoo animals, the space dedicated to butterflies and the freedom that is given to some animals. Kind staff!
The price is worth it! We were there because every year we come to Amsterdam and have seen pretty much everything. The entrance fee of 24 euros per person is expensive, but considering how high the cost of living in this city and you also want that the animals are neatly cared for, the price is justified. In addition, the zoo offers so much, like no other. Many animals can be experienced up close, in jungle houses or similar. walk around between the visitors. The zoo keepers often tell something about the animals and the atmosphere is relaxed. Some of the enclosures might be bigger, but the zoo is undergoing renovations. You can easily spend a whole day together with the aquarium and planetarium and you really see many unknown animals there. Highly recommended!
Ah bhe, a beautiful zoo, without a doubt, so many lovely animals, very neat and accentuated, the part of the butterfly and partly molten "hot water" but partly. Turn into this Zoo and relax. And then there is the Panda Rosso, fantastic animaletto. Very good
A beautiful zoo, without a doubt, lots of animals, very clean and welcoming, the part of the butterflies is certainly very particular "very warm" but particular. Shooting in this Zoo is very relaxing. And then there's the Red Panda, a fantastic little animal. Highly recommended
Tirer dans ce Zoo is very relaxing. You can go and Panda Rouge, a small fantasy animal. I highly recommend

Very cool zoo. They wandered almost to the evening and barely had time to look at everything. Such a feeling that you are not in the zoo, but animals :) you seem to have come to visit them. Especially liked the huge pylicans! On the way, just go red lemurs. You can also go into the garden with kangaroos. Or a garden with butterflies and bats. There is a huge oceanarium. In general, it's like not a zoo, and a park with animals and you walk next to them.
Absolutely fantastic zoo! So many animals to see, and thanks to the minimal use of cages you get some really unique and interesting experiences up close with the animals! The park is pretty big (especially considering the location) and it's easy to navigate and make your way around. Definitely worth a visit, you can easily spend 4/5 hours rambling around and enjoying everything. Highly recommended!
It is a very nice place especially if you have children. A lot of different animals, so you need a few hours to see them all. In some exhibits you can get really close.
A great zoo. It's quite small. But they make it work the limited amount of space they have available. If you're in Amsterdam a visit to Artis is definitely recommended!!
Much improved from a few years ago, when it was really an old fashioned zoo. But in 2017 it doesn't feel good to see animals in the enclosed small spaces. Due to the enclosed and unique location in the city center (which is nice: elephants next to the canal houses), Artis continues to lack space. And no real choices are made: they want to be an all-round zoo. So many animals in small enclosures.
Beautiful park, old-fashioned beautiful. High prices for food and drinks, but Artis is not unique in that. Calculate, just like the 10 eu parking ticket
It's a good Zoo. Being in the centre of Amsterdam, it's located in comparatively small area with small enclosures. There is a play area and restaurant which are nicely located. Children will enjoy it. Not comparable to the huge ones which you would see in Asia or America. You can spend half day here. Or even full day with kids playing etc.
Shame that Artis does not sell normal common soft drinks such as Cola, Fanta or Cassis. And also shamelessly charge 8 euros for a simple hamburger sandwich or simple hot dog. This was my last family visit for the rest of my life. SO LIKELESS! And that organic stuff is fun for those vegan grass eaters, but not for the average audience. All wild drinks. THE END
Beautiful zoo! Beautiful mix of old and new construction. Active critters and all good to see. The aquarium is especially beautiful! Nice places to sit, rest and enjoy the beautiful trees and flowers (especially in the spring). Clean and accessible toilets! We are looking forward to a return visit!
Lovely gardens around the zoo so you can sit and relax and watch the animals. Plenty of eating outlets at reasonable prices for food and drinks. They are upgrading the elephant area hence only 4 stars.
Amazing. Free entry with an I Amsterdam card (thoroughly recommend if you're visiting the city). The cafe was good value with a range of drinks and snacks available - and a nice view of some of the animals from inside! Staff were friendly and the exhibits were great, much better than any other zoo I have visited. Worth a trip.
Average small zoo. Wasn't a fan of how small some of the enclosures are, and the aquarium could be better (still good, just not great). We got there a bit late, while the zoo closes at 6 we were able to walk around still for a good hour catching everything we missed.
Great zoo, I highly recommend visit the zoo in Amsterdam if you want to be more cultured. Great place to bring kids and families. Lots of warm locations to see animals as well.
Today had a great day in Artis. Nice weather, not too busy and booking a time slot went without effort.
Then the park itself. I was there for the first time, but had heard many (old) stories about how small the accommodations would be. So I already went there with a bit of a bias.
I must say, it was not that bad. Yes, there are a number of animal enclosures that are (much) too small, but it is also clear to see that Artis is making considerable progress in that respect despite the limited space they have. Still, there is still a lot to be done in the coming years, because they are far from being there.
The park in its entirety looks nice and neat. Lots of greenery, neat clean walkways and almost everything is easily accessible, even for disabled people.
What is a shame is that there is no map (paper) available. I get it for environmental reasons, but the path system is so confused here and there that you miss some things if you don't pay attention and see other things four times. Then put at least a few map signs here and there.
After all, the aquarium building, that was really a disappointment. A lot, but really a lot of algae in a number of tanks, a few white bleached (almost dead) anemones and virtually no coral to be seen. Furthermore, a few too big fish in the tanks that were only a bit still in the water because they have hardly any room to swim. Too bad.
Excellent zoo. They're so many different parts to see in this zoo. The information available with the animals is extensive and there are also staff on hand if you have any questions. The only thing lacking is some animals looked a little worse for wear (the camels especially) which did worry me, but the rest seemed happy and content. There were lots of places to sit down and the gift shop is good too. I would recommend visiting Micropia as well, a special exhibition about microorganisms as this was very interesting.
Very nice one...not only as zoo it is good for a nature walk.it relaxes mind n body.animals are active and it's good to see them moving freely.there is a big restaurant which is built with forest theme widen wallpapers surrounded by trees.overall it's an awesome experience
Artis is in full development, the animals have much more space and in some cases run free among the audience. Many times better than it was when I was a child myself
A really big zoo with a high amount of species! We had fun to visit it and luckily the animals did not seem to feel bad. A beautiful experience, especially the butterfly area, was almost in another world! Beautiful, if possible we will return to visit micropia.
