Fantastic museum, housed in a gorgeous building! Visited with two families with kids ranging from 6 to 16 and highly recommend it!

The displays were well thought out, designed to handle traffic and deeply impacting.

The museum is appropriate (although a little information-dense) for all school-aged kids.

Younger kids need a lot of adult support to process the displays (and should definitely skip the wing dealing with trafficking) but the audio-visuals and narrated videos were perfect for them.

There's a lot to learn at this beautiful new museum. We took a 10 year old and had him read some of the texts aloud to make sure he stayed focused. He knew what the UR was from school, which helped. You couldn't really leave a child much younger than 12 or 13 alone. There is a lot of reading, but also it requires some maturity to process what you're seeing. We couldn't see everything in one day, and we even went to lunch and came back for more! Definitely a museum that merits several visits as young people grow and can take in more about the politics of slavery, court decisions that brought on the Civil War, modern day slavery, etc. The staff do a good job of talking about what's there. More would probably be better. We saw some kids on a school trip with a guide. I suspect that's the ideal way to visit. Excellent videos that show the personal risks the heroes of the Underground Railroad took, be they white or black. All around, this is learning center about American history that everyone ought to visit. Cincinnati is lucky to have it.

We took a group of almost 40 high school students. The staff were very welcoming and easy to work with.
The museum experience was incredible. They tell the painful stories of slavery in powerful ways. These stories must be told so we can honor those who suffered and those who risked their lives to end slavery.

Also, they tell the stories of the over 12 million current slaves. That is still happening and we must work together to end it completely.

A lot of reading and some exhibits. No concessions inside. Was able to go through museum in about one hour. Think the $15 dollar entrance fee was slightly higher than expected. Would not recommend for small children.

Incredibly informative and humbling. Definitely a must see in the city. Definitely gives some perspective on the more intimate details of slavery as well as helping understand the parts the local areas played. A must see place.

Not too impressed with this, very confusing to navigate or know where to go. Most attractions we're closed. Staff offers no help, not sure how they even stay open. I did learn some stuff but felt like the whole thing needs a tour always. Will not be back.

I finally had the chance to visit the National Underground Railroad and OMG the experience was amazing I was so glad to experience this with my grandchild and my sisters the only one thing that I would suggest is that they would really consider opening the location of to low-income residents of the Cincinnati area there are so many people that are or they would love to come and visit this wonderful Museum but cannot truly afford that we're talkin about people that live on a fixed income so maybe that is something that they can look into visiting but blessings to this Museum and I'm so grateful to Cincinnati has it here

Truly loved the "Men of Change" exhibit! I felt lost initially, though, as first I was taken to the wrong floor and, second, when I did get there no one gave any direction as to entering the particular space or the media day activities. For a long time my grandson and I just stood or wandered around on the concourse not really sure what to do. We had a great time once we entered, though. He actually enjoyed it and learned a lot!

Learning about your history is definitely important. I will say it was emotionally difficult to deal with what happened to my ancestors. The staff did an excellent job with the setup of each section. I will never forget my time here.

Eye opening

Very good experience. Informational, tearful and humbling. The parking is utilized by a parking garage. There are also meters if you can find one. Parking garage is convenient to the museum and other attractions downtown.

Tells the story of slavery in America. We were expecting more artifacts, but instead found lots of photographs and reproductions. Plan to spend several hours if you want to read everything they have describing the displayed items.

Not my first time here & definitely not my last . My friend & I enjoyed all the history & art the center had to offer . The motel X was very sad but extremely informative , that I do urge folk to take a walk thru that gallery when visiting . Only thing off that I would comment on , is the customer service . Everyone seemed to be in a daze or just really bored . But other than that , I certainly enjoyed myself .

There's something to learn and reflect on every time I come here. I highly encourage everyone to visit. Give yourself time to explore the exhibits or opt for a guided tour with a tour guide (great for a first timer to the center) or with audio tour (the front desk gives you small headset and there are numbers at each exhibit for you to follow along at your own pace). Definitely check the modern slavery exhibit on the third floor before you go!

We took a 2nd grade field trip here from Dayton and I was SO impressed at how they change the tours to meet the students' maturity level. I will be going back ON MY OWN to see and enjoy the full tour!

Very informative and powerful exoerience. We were surprised at some of what we learned about African American history. The slave cabin and the actual hardware that was used in slavery had me emotional!

A truly memorable experience. Heartbreaking in many respects, but the displays are so expertly presented you are simply captivated. We started on the third floor and worked our way to the second floor, which I would recommend. This museum exceeded my expectations.

Incredible place that we are so lucky to have in Cincinnati. This museum is world-class and is right up there with the best of them in Washington, in terms of its curation and exhibits. It covers everything from early slavery to modern slavery, including human trafficking that still happens today. You can't walk away from this place not feeling something strong. Just make sure not to rush and to spare a few hours for your visit because there's a lot to see.
