Driving up the road can be a bit nerve wracking as it's very windy but I got very lucky and was there on a crystal clear day. There are absolutely spectacular views from various points at the look out here. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an easy look out point over the bay.
Nice for hiking, easy for parking, but the roads are paved with sand, watch out your step
Nice long trails along the ocean front. Normally windy and cool/cold. Few amenities.
Glorious sight to see. And NO, modern day machinery did not build this bridge. This was hard work by REAL MEN.
I really enjoyed the views! There's a lot of theft here they strongly urge you not to leave any valuables in your car, stating on posted sign that "break-ins happen often".
Neat place to bike through. The weather is usually chilly and breezy so I would highly recommend warm clothes. The scenery of the vegetation is pretty typical of the area with scrubby grass. The view of the of Golden Gate is great. Seems to be lots of people that walk and bike through the park so you probably won t be alone.

Well marked, clean, and fun! Beautiful views but you can only use the east side of the bridge on foot, the west side is only for cyclists.
The place was very helpful. Had lots of informative this NGS regarding the Golden Gaye Bridge.
Absolutely gorgeous place for tourists to get some amazing shots of the bridge and even whales if you are lucky enough!

Absolutely breathtaking. The scale of the bridge is awe inspiring. It's unbelievable that man could build something so massive, especially so long ago. It is visually stunning, and you really have to go here to see it with your own eyes to take it all in. Even then, it's still almost too much to take in. Incredible grandeur. Go and see for yourself. Keep in mind, it's gonna be very windy...
It was really nice and green, lots of vegetation surprisingly, not what I expected at all. Everbody I seen that day where really friendly.
Definitely a place to go. Waterfront free parking, bring your snacks.
This is a gorgeous area and in my opinion the best way to go into San Fransisco. There is a little spot where you can stop and check out the bridge, take some amazing pictures or even just look at the starfish attached to the rocks.

An amazing place for a day of hiking / walking. We had an amazing day following some of the trails, and the roads, we ended up over 20K steps, which for non-hikers was a pretty decent amount.
I'd highly recommend people going here!

One of the most beautiful areas to hike at overlooking theGolden Gate ridge, Sausalito, and the Pacific Ocean. If your trip is timed right you can visit the Point Bonita light house and the Nike Missile site, all while enjoying long hikes with ample elevation gains.
Went to Muir Woods today & have been to every Bay Area National Park around. The Golden Gate Natl Parks are the best in the West!

Great overlook but can be filled with tourists! Try going on a week day for less crowds.
Interesting and picturesque National Park. However be aware that signposting is a bit slack and map not that helpful either
So beautiful! I would recommend going on a day without fog for the best pictures. Traffic during the week is a bear.
Veeeery nice area with many spots you should go (or drive) to! Good views to San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge in the South. In the West up to the North great trails and lonely beaches. In the Southwest those great lil' streets. Recommendation if you are in the area!
An amazing structure! Took the Big Bus tour to see the bridge and park. Was good for us as it allowed better sight seeing. Very well maintained and great viees
Visitor's centre closes a bit too early. Otherwise a great place.

It is a nice place to visit. It provides important information about the characteristics of the Golden Gate. It also provides historical facts about it and about San Francisco. I really recommend to visit this area too.
There is a lot to see and explore. I love that u can bike, jog, or simply walk and enjoy the beautiful landscape. I would recommend everyone to come with there families or alone if don't have any. You will definitely make a family there cause everyone is friendly.
National Parks do a great job, giving information and guidance. They move lots of people very efficiently!
This area of Northern California is beautiful and at one time in the early mid 1800 s some of this land belonged to my 2G Great Grandfather. I have a mystical connection to this part of the Golden Gate Bridge! This place is family friendly and every American Family should come and spend a family vacation here. They will not regret it!

Golden Gate national vista point a must visit when visiting San Francisco. Yesterday the weather was gorgeous and clear for miles, no fog or overcast. One has to bear the weekend traffic and good luck in finding a good parking place. BTW Be prepared to dole out $8 GG bridge toll and u need Fastrack transponder.
Such a great time at the BBQ pits! Had a company part there and was able to watch the sunset with the Golden Gate Bridge. Amazing company party! The weather is usually not this nice but we were very lucky!
Beautiful clean beach. We were hoping the fort was open forbthe grandkids bit they enjoyed the beach anyway. Lots to do.
UltraTech good national park and the like Somani natural things but you know everything like something and it also like a little but natural environment but if you leave it it is very good National Park.
Great views. Not crowded. I don't officially know if dogs are allowed but, yesterday there were many of them all playing and enjoying the beach.
The beach is a nice but coarse sand. Closer to the water the sand turns to small, smooth stones... a bit hard to walkon.

The city of warriors! This historical place is worth for touristy things. The welcome center of the park gives access to the historical connotation of this oldest suspension bridge....
With high winds and sunny weather in summer , it's the perfect view offers one of the best city line views around the world.....

Muir beach is awesome. Lots of fun sea life to see around the rocks. Beautiful beach and the nature around it. Only sore spot is these houses that are built on one of the hillsides. It looks like a shanti town. Totally ugly. Liberal hypocrisy of marin county.

The heart of the bay. If you're ever in SF you can't leave until you visit here. You won't be disappointed. Many activities, culture, and beautiful scenery to choose from.
Lots of things to see here, from spectacular vistas of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Pacific to birds and sea mammals and flowers and verdant hills and the lighthouse (when open). Good by car, bicycle, and foot. Take water and a lunch as there's no restaurants inside.

Beautiful little National Treasure tucked in the middle of the city. Great to drive through it on the way to or from the bridge if you have an extra few minutes.

Parking is rough but definitely a bucket list place to visit.
Fitzgerald Marine Reserve tide pools did not have any star fish even when tide -1. The parts that may have been in better shape were "roped off" from public
I love this place. Lady and I went to the Disney Family museum because it was on her bucket list. Putting that amazing experience aside, we were there on a day where a big faire was going on in the middle of the park. There was music and food trucks and families everywhere just having the best time.
We are not from SF, but this was something we were gathering happened quite regularly. The energy level was very high and loving. We will definitely return when we have more time.
This area is one of the most exquisite locations in the world. Golden Gate National Park incorporates parts of San Francisco, CA and across the Golden Gate Bridge to Marin County to the North, including Muir woods.
It is well with the time to visit and stay for a few days, maybe in picturesque Sausalito if not San Francisco

You can't really beat outdoor fun. Golden Gate National Recreation Areas are wonderful breaks from busy city life. There's hiking through nature, enjoying places to bring your dogs, having a picnic, relaxing, exercising, the options are endless. We enjoy taking strolls through the different parks during each season. There's always something wonderful to see.
