This is one of my family's favorite places to go and where we always take out-of-towners who come to visit. The views, the trails, both common and less known... we haven't even scratched the surface with all the trails. Amazing California beauty. Makes me feel fortunate to live in Northern California when we go here.

En route to the hike, it has one of the best views of golden gate bridge. But the hike in itself is nothing spectacular, but it is one of those hikes which won't drain you out, but would still give you a satisfaction of having a decent hike. Other than the view of the bridge, it also has some nice beaches surrounding the hike which is nice. Overall a nice hiking spot for beginners and experienced people alike.

Golden gate national recreation area. Has a lot of great places that you can visit with your family. There are some area like Point Cavallo, Battery Yates, Golden Gate Bridge view vista point, Kirby Cove Beach, Black Sands Beach, Rodeo Beach, The Marine Mammal Center; among of others. Nice place for walk, learn about nature, swim, and the most important spent time with your family.

Clean, didn't see any hobo's or bums trying to camp out and downgrade the place. Nice picnic area and really nice trail to the Golden Gate !
The bridge it self makes it hard for other parks to compete!

It's a really nice place to get out, stretch your legs, and picnic. There's a statue there, but I was more interested in the views. There are 50 cent telescopes to view landmarks such as Angel Island and Alcatraz. There is also a legend on the telescope that shows you where to look. On clear days you can see San Francisco across the water. It's a really nice vista point. There is ample parking, and I believe there's a tour bus line that stops here as well.

Lovely place to be with friends and family. It has all what is required , a beach , a chocolate place , hard rock , pier39 , etc. Street activities taking place every now and then sweeps your off your feet !! There are many restaurants on the way that are beautifully decorated and lit up . Very well maintained and a clean place.

While there are viewing loints you can walk or cycle across the bridge. I recommend hiring a bike. It's a leisurely cycle so no need for huge fitness level. There are stop off points across the bridge. Stop and take in the sights. Be careful to go when it's not misty or your views will be limited. Recommended.

Excellent hiking location that covers a vast area with outstanding views. To get the best out of this place your going to need a guide book, one of the best things I like to explore was the military history of the area, there's so many old forts, gun emplacements and the old missile sites.

Beautiful area. Bring some snacks and water so you can take your time and explore. There are lots of trails and plenty of cliffs to check out. If you have the time you can even take a trail down to the beach. There are typically lots of friendly people walking around who can help you if you are lost or looking for a particular trail.

Golden Gate Park is a beautiful, massive park that spans across the entirety of San Francisco, California. Golden Gate Park has everything from basketball courts to baseball fields to squash courts. Whether you're looking to walk your dog, go for a run, play some tennis, meet up with friends or just chill at the park, Golden Gate Park has something for you.

I can see the appeal if you are there as a SF resident. It is a really nice place to jog, hike or to walk your dog. However if you are short of time as a tourist, you do not need to prioritize this park.

A great stop for a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge. I think you get a more scenic view from the beach on the west side of the bridge, but this a great stop to get a family photo of the bridge.

One of the few National Parks free for public (Point Reyes is another one) of beauty and unsurpassed scenery. You can hike for miles - Ocean Beach, Lands End, Legion of Honor, GG Bridge, Crissy Field.

The park is anazing. There are activities for everyone and all age groups. Cycling, running, sightseeing. On clear days the vies is slectacular and definitely a must do if you are in SF. The cycling ride from Sports Basement to Sausalito is fantastic. You can book your bike online for rental at sports basement Presidio website and just pick it up there in the morning with everything you need to enjoy a beautiful ride to the other side of the bay.

It was fun to visit this recreational park area and look out across the bay at San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge. When we went it was a little bit busy, but there was still room to park. There wasn't much to do here other than take pictures.

Tim, You are talking about the La Crescents View trail I believe and yes it is a bit dangerous in a few areas. I myself won't take my dog past a certain point. There actually needs to be a retaining wall built on some of that area. I prefer the Rim of the Valley hike. It is very beautiful and safer than the Crescenta View hike. The uphill grades are more gentle. I love taking my dog on this hike. Beware the bugs are starting to come out so you will need some bug protection. Bring plenty of water. It is best to hike very early in the morning or in the evening during the summer months.

Beautiful views of ocean. Easy trails very flat, could probably ride in a wheel chair. Both gravel and dirt trials. Bunnies come out just before Sunset which can be spectacular. Although many signs saying dogs must be on leash, only about 1/2 the hikers listen.

Beautiful place, if you want to go to the lighthouse it is only open sat-mon 12:30pm-3:30pm and their is a wait to cross and be at the lighthouse but you can see from across the last bridge, it is a beautiful view and you can see seals, also from April to June whale seeing is awesome.

You can spend hours exploring all the different groves, museum's and parks. Well worth the stop on a vacation or just locals looking for a little space and greenery. One of the best parks in the nation.

Great views. Big waves for surfing. Many trails along the cliffs. Places for jogging along the beach. The beach is great for campfires or watching the sunset. Bring a jacket because the wind can make it chilly. Lots of dogs. I saw a female bald eagle that I got within 10 feet of on a trail.
