I love the bay. Even on a gloomy day the bay has its way to make it seem brighter with its authentic chowder/chili bread bowls I love San Francisco

Omw to work it raided all night crossed that bridge made work a lil better #cold memories
Its a beautiful place to enjoy the fresh air and the wild life. Ocean Beach in San Francisco draws many people. You can meet new friends or just sit by yourself to have some tranquility. Dogs enjoy the beach as well and its a great place to take them.
Phenomenal park. Its huge and filled with days worth of activities fun little stops
One of the most beautiful places to see and take pictures.
Beautiful area but very busy. Plenty of parking inside the park, however it took us 1.5 hours to leave the park on a Saturday afternoon. Next time we will ride bikes into the park.
A great spot to start is down at the East Battery parking on Crissy Field. Easier parking, plus great spot to picnic. There is an easier half-mike hike to the visitor center from there that has great views too.
So many great options, go hike, explore, be happy in a beautiful location! Try and leave the beautiful places you visit just a little nicer, cleaner than you found them, if we all food this, our parks, wild, and natural places would be beautiful for ALL! Cheers!
This is actually a warning for drivers in the rain. Drive slower than speed limit when its raining. The road here seems to be extra prone to spot-hydroplaning. There are no puddles, just thick sheets of water that can cause you to spin out.
The recreational area itself is awesome. Beautiful views, especially near dusk when the clouds move in over the hills.
This area is absolutely beautiful! It gives you a high-up view of the Golden Gate Bridge and some of the bay. Absolutely breathtaking views everywhere you look. Would go back again!
Ride across Golden Gate Bridge and get away from the city! This peninsula to the north is rich in hiking and biking trails. Pass through Saucelito, a town with cute restaurants, to hit up Muir Woods. Take in the huge trees as the clouds mysteriously roll over the moraine. They taste like cotton candy, I'm serious.
Beautiful place for pics of bridge and surrounding area ! A must do
It s one of the best technological marvel I have ever seen
The kind of effort made by those involved is unparalleled
The Ships moving freely below the bridge is a fascinating scene in the cold breeze on your face
Staff was very friendly and bathrooms were very clean with hot water. Amazing trees and easy trails for the family.
Gorgeous views and awesome trails. Note that there are some hills! Make sure to go on a day with nice weather for wonderful views of the city, bridge, and Bay.
Beautiful park with amazing scenic views of the Bridge and surrounding area
One of our favorite stops in the city for sure. We enjoy this space.
Amazing scenery on days without fog. Just a few miles, but a world away from Silicon Valley.
I love the open space we have.
1) needs to be accessible to dogs.
Famous Golden Gate Bridge. Can't go wrong with it. From this vantage point, the bridge looks amazing. Gift shops and washrooms available. You can also cross the bridge from here as well.
A beautiful park. Wonderful plaster to walk and take in the sites
Its a amazing place. You can see the skyline of San Francisco and also the prison of alcatraz. 5 stars for this experience.
This is an amazing place, a unique combination of beautiful sea and mountains! The natural flora and fauna are well preserved in this area. And above all the view of the Golden Gate Bridge is just mesmerizing!
Beautiful, lots of space to move without getting in others way, and lots of amazing views.
The views of San Francisco are fantastic! Parking is tight and limited although free. Bring a jacket, it is windy and can be cold. Allow 30 minutes to admire the views.
Gorgeous view of the bay, bridge, and ocean... an absolute must-see when visiting Golden Gate Bridge! Many hiking trails, bring sensible shoes as the trails can get muddy/rocky.
Dogs dogs dogs galore. So fun to bring the kids and the pup. All the dogs are so friendly and playful. Swimming is safe and fun tide is not too high usually. Absolutely beautiful views. We bring a sun tent and a beach bbq and make a day of it. Bathrooms are big and not too bad.
We ate at the Presidio Social Club. The food there is excellent! We recommend it highly.
Lots to see and do. Great views, decent footways and bicycle friendly. It's a large area to cover and many ways to get around, including bus tours, walking and cycling. Lots of photo opportunities. Be sure to get some kind of map and/or information beforehand to avoid not getting to see all the highlights.
Very helpful people, basic clean and comfy accommodation. Would stay here again.
Love visiting Golden Gate. I can never get enough always a beautiful scenery.
Good view but not anything special in my opinion. Pretty crowded too. Late at night is good for photography though!
A perfect break from the hustle and bustle of the city. Sometimes you wouldn t even know you were in the middle of San Francisco. The views of the Golden Gate Bridge from Baker beach are beautiful too :)
A place to take pictures! Come over at different times during the day and during different seasons because it's a magical place. You'll get a lot of material if you're an artist and want to draw nature. So, sunset, midday sun, fog lifting, fog lingering, the options are limitless.
Great view but if you have time go up the hill to the lookout
Great plave to stop and take in the beauty of SF. Great views of the bay, alcatraz and tje golden gate Bridge.
Great atmosphere, very family friendly, the whole area is a great place for a walk. Parking is expensive.
Nice birds nice breeze nice ocean nice trees.. Nice Gate.
Good fishing. What an experience. Can't wait to go again!
Was in a business trip. I enjoyed the experience and time away from home and!
Excellent idea is great to see SO many people using the installations having dio much fun..i was at the place for a bday party..
Beautiful morning. Just enough activity to not feel isolated but not so much you can't do anything. Waves crashing on rocks were great, wind was a bit much and had a chill.
This is the place in the city to hike and mountain-bike to your heart s content; mostly cool to chilly, so be advised to have (or bring along) some extra layers, and a raincoat maybe in the wet months (December to February). There are food truck picnics on Sunday afternoons at the Presidio (late March to early October).
It is one of the national parks that happens to be within a skip and hop within walking distance of every modern convenience known to humanity (no thanks to the tech industry).
Regrettably, due to limited resources certain parts of the park has been allowed to be neglected and weather in the elements, as paint peels and moldings warp. Until critical funding can be made available.
My only regret is how commercial money has changed the Presidio, from a military installation with a rich history and traditions, to a tourist trap.
Beautiful place. The views are phenomenal from almost every point. It's a must see while in San Francisco.
This area is so beautiful and the view is breathtaking. You can enjoy just walking around. Don't forget to take pictures of the Golden gate. Of course the best time for taking pictures are one hour before the Dawn and one hour before the sunset.
Homeland security show is very powerful and moving. A must see.
Extremely windy. Symbol of San Francisco. I guess is must to visit.
The Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) is a U.S. National Recreation Area protecting 82,027 acres (33,195 ha) of ecologically and historically significant landscapes surrounding the San Francisco Bay Area. Much of the park is land formerly used by the United States Army. GGNRA is managed by the National Park Service and is one of the most visited units of the National Park system in the United States, with more than 15 million visitors a year. It is also one of the largest urban parks in the world, with a size two-and-a-half times that of the consolidated city and county of San Francisco.
The park is not one continuous locale, but rather a collection of areas that stretch from southern San Mateo County to northern Marin County, and includes several areas of San Francisco. The park is as diverse as it is expansive; it contains famous tourist attractions such as Muir Woods National Monument, Alcatraz, and the Presidio of San Francisco. The GGNRA is also home to 1,273 plant and animal species, encompasses 59 miles (95 km) of bay and ocean shoreline and has military fortifications that span centuries of California history, from the Spanish conquistadors to Cold War-era Nike missile sites
Open space with a view of the Golden Gate bridge. Parks with tables and restrooms. A biking/ walking path. No restaurants or eateryies.
The place is very beautiful, with some amazing views and there is a walking trail, which is very refreshing
This is a wonderful location with a lot to see an do, but it is a day trip as you would need a fair amount of time to see everything and make the trip worth it.
Its a beautiful place! All tourists should go visit and enjoy the view.
Its a bit overrated. Overall you will like the highs and lows of SF streets anyways. If its on your way than do it otherwise not worth taking a detour and doing it.
Lovely place to do anything anytime here like walking, jogging, yoga, picnicking w/without kids, museums, Botanical, Rose, Dahlia gardens and so much more.
Could easily spend the entire day here and never grow tired of the view.
Exceptionally beautiful. The drive is just marvelous, plus it has hiking trails and 100s of bikers everyday in Marin County. Spent the whole day here.
Can't get enough of the photography potential this place has with views of the bridge, the gorgeous rocky shoreline, abundant wildlife, Tree canopies and formations, etc. (The list goes on).
Beautiful hike area easy access for families and side trails.
I love this place, there's so much to do and it's all gorgeous!
Magical place with lots to explore. We work here at times and count ourselves very lucky! From the Marin Headlands to the edge of Drakes Bay this place is awesome. There are so many great views its hard to pick a favorite. Take some time and go boating in this area. You won't regret it!
If you are visiting San Francisco for the first time, you have to take a boat trip under the Golden Gate and take the walk across the bridge, eat a fresh fish dish in one of the several restaurants in the pier 39, and of course, land in Alcatraz Island.
This place is just Great.i cant wait to come back.i highly recommend.
Best place to park to walk out on the bridge. The only downside is you have to pay the toll to get back into San fran
A national treasure. Great hiking. Beautiful scenery. You can experience true peace at these parks. Unequaled
One of the best National recreation area in the Bay Area endless trails to hike Plus Nike missile Base Museum and some interesting army emplacements and buildings,Marin Mammal Center, Point Bonita lighthouse and one of my favorite beaches
Amazing place well worth a visit particularly at #sunset
What can I say? It is a hikers paradise! Multiple staging areas, fantastic trails from Mt Tam to Coastal camp. Trails are well marked and the beauty is world famous. There are trails for experts, beginners and everyone in between. There are latrines at all the campsites which is great for full day hikes. Some spots have handicap accessible portions. Spend an hour or spend a month.
Nice location to relax and enjoy the view the natural structure and the manual construction.
Beautiful park in the best city in the world. Dont let the cold water deter you, hop in :)
Amazing checking walking the bridge off my bucket list... what a breathtaking experience!!
Second time here and found parking fairly quick on the north west parking lot. (Off season) walked the bridge and took alot of pictures
