Great exhibition on ancient Egypt (queens of Egypt)
Loved the Queens of Egypt display. The 3D room was super cool and the interactive experiences made the tour fun. Spelled my name in Egypt symbols. Not as awesome as actually being in Egypt ( I was there last year) but still cool.
Some exhibits they charge, but it pays for copyright fees, etc., not to make money. If you are a fan of the magazine, it is worth checking out
Great place, always changing their themes. It's like walking thru a magazine.
Attended the Banff Center Movie Festival for four nights. Amazing movies, inspiring. Great venue, fun experience. Looking forward to next year!
We went for the Titanic exhibition, and were able to see costumes/props from the movie. Such a blast from the past
The museum is pretty small, currently there's The Tomb of Christ, Titanic and one other exhibition, entrance is $15 per person and they give you 3D glasses for the Tomb of Christ part. Take your time going through everything, at the most you'll spend 30-40min here not including the gift shop (you enter on the left and come out from the right through the gift shop). I totally recommend the gift shop, there's stuff there that you won't find on their online site (like jewelry).
The museum has an ever rotating selection of amazing photo exhibits from Nat Geo explorers from all over the world.
Amazing 3d film on Jerusalem and 3d exhibit, the Tomb of Christ. Lots of technical demonstration too. We had someone who needed a wheelchair and that was easily arranged. Great trip!
Queens of Egypt is fantastic. Go see. Is there thru September 1.2019.
Went here for the Greek exhibit. A bit overpriced for a small exhibit
Amazing exhibit on Queens of Egypt-- especially the Three-D visit to the tomb of Nefertari. Please note that your beautiful courtyard begs for a small cafe!
dedicates full exhibits to artifacts they know are not authentic. Im looking at you mask of agammemnon. Also cost 12 dollars to get in. not the place but that particular exhibit.
The queens of Egypt exhibit is really interesting. I think it s very relevant to gender equality issues that face us to this day. I made a quick trip through the exhibit but I would plan on spending about an hour and a half to two hours to read all the information.
Incredibly informative and has a lot of interesting facts for all ages.
Hidden treasure of DC. Rotating exhibits. There was a Jane Goodall exhibit as well as a Women: Century of Change photo exhibit. Admission $15 for adults but well worth the price.
Jane Goodall exhibition was very interesting. The actual photos and movie clips of her are fascinating
Not worth you time. The burial of Christ is $15.00 including Titanic. Christ is a 3 d video then s virtual reality headset. Titanic side little to none items from Titanic. Mosty replica s and the national geographic side you walk in the door just a bunch of magazines and a couple little things hanging on the left hallway that's it no multi-levels deathly don't waste your time.
It was overpriced, in my opinion, since there wasn't much to see (there was only one floor of exhibits and it wasn't very big)
Very interesting museum. Loved the beautiful art works and photos of Stephen Wilkes.
Really cool experience with the Virtual reality tour here!
This museum is great! Always clean, well organized, and very popular. This is a great to know about different story, as well as different cultures from all over the world.
Amazing friendly people who give us food that are yummy!
Nice museum but the display contained very misleading information about Egypt. It should be no one who doubts the ancient Egyptians were black people. Many items sold and displayed seemed to dispute the what the real people of ancient Egypt looked like.
We saw the queens of Egypt exhibit. It was so rad. Me and a bunch of 30 year olds doing the scavenger hunt and playing ancient egyptian checkers. Loads of fun. Cant wait to see what they have next
Exvellent exhibit with VR called Jane re Jane Goodall.
What can you say about NatGeo? The Queens of Egypt presentation was EXCELLENT!!
Went to see the Animal photography exhibit.... Simply stunning beautifully and simply displayed photographs of animals on black or white backgrounds. Minimal literature but the blurbs they do have are relevant and entertaining.
Only reason the museum did not get a five is because there was not too much of a museum after that. There was one other exhibit across the hall, and then there was a permanent Sea exhibit across the courtyard which was not too impressive.
I actually was there to see the Queens of the Nile exhibit. I throughly enjoyed the artifacts. It was a combination of the mast married with the technology of today.
I like National Geographic, but their museum is a bore. For $12, there was only three exhibits and only one of them was any interest; which was the Women of Phtotgraphy. If you're visiting DC and want to go a museum, skip this one and stick with the Smithsonian (which is free)
Took a tour of the Queens of Egtpt Exhibit. It was very interesting to see this historical information revolve around the matriarchy and not the usual.
It was fun and interesting but much smaller than we were expecting.
This amazing place , it's cost only 12 dollars But it's worth it!
Charged me twice for admission and gift shop purchases, disputed the transactions with my credit card company and Nat Geo declined the dispute. I am now out $260 that I did not spend.
I truly enjoyed the National Geographic Museum. It was relatively small, in comparison to the Smithsonians, and it isn't free. That probably helped it to get such one of a kind exhibits and displays that you can't find anywhere else. I went on a weekday afternoon and was able to enjoy the museum almost completely to myself. They have rotating exhibits and I was lucky enough to catch one about wildlife photography and another about Indiana Jones. As far as I can tell these are the official props from the movie. They had the hat & whip, various outfits, and possibly every artifact Indy ever touched. It managed to seamlessly weave archaeology into the exhibit and was very informative. The photography exhibit was a stunning display of animals large and small, common and endangered, made to increase awareness of the plight of all creatures. I was happy enough with my visit to the museum to purchase a dual membership. I feel the benefits that I will get from the magazine, various exhibits, and movies over the next year are worth the price and the proceeds go to a great cause.
Really interesting and tasty food at a reasonable price.
Fascinating exhibits! We loved both the "Tomb of Christ" and the "Titanic" exhibits. They did such a great job on the 3D Tomb of Christ tour. So realistic!
Closed for renovations. Total waste of the walk. This should be posted somewhere.
Except tomb of christ nothing else was there. Not worth 15$ per person
National Geographic, it's always worth visiting. Extraordinary photos
Not worth the price of admission! 2 large rooms, one with a bunch shark pictures and the other one with interactive displays.
You need only few hours to spend here but the exhibit was out of this world. It was so real that there were times when everybody sat down, just because we felt that we will fall down. Amazing experience.
One of the best experiences in life. Watched Tomb of Christ and an amazing Day to Night photography exhibition. How inspiring and motivating for photographers like me.
Didn't know this place existed, but happy we found it! Titanic exhibit was good, but more info/artifacts with the movie than the actual event. The Tomb of Jesus blew us away! Having been to the actual tomb, I can honestly say they've done a great job of making this virtual experience a very realistic one. Almost got a little dizzy from "flying" up & over the tomb, but they have a bench for you to sit if you get motion sickness. Totally worth the $15 & the short trip off of The Mall.
Could use some improvement, but worth a visit with kids.
Highly recommended to take a look at the agenda of temporary exhibitions.
Queens of Egypt: een dikke onvoldoende. Ga je toevallig naar New York dan kun je voor een tentoonstelling over Ancient Egyptian Art veel beter The Met bezoeken.
De permanente tentoonstelling was er helemaal niet, bestond niet!
Expensive tickets. The 'permanent exhibit' is small and free, despite buying tickets. None of it is what I'd consider kid friendly, or even kid entertaining. The cafeteria was closed on a Friday for a private event. The cover photo picture both was broken.
Not much there, 2 exhibits. They are pretty cool, but thought there would be a lot more with their history! There was a little more across the court yard, but I had to ask to find that out. I'm hoping they are still working on things bc they've got so much potential from a rich history!
We had a phenomenal time. Two small but really good exhibits. We will be back!
Always amazing, immersive exhibits. Very informative and engaging exhibit on Queens of Egypt!
Excellent, thoughtfully curated exhibits. Always a must see when we visit DC. If you're the type to mindlessly wonder through museums, don't waste your time or money. If you can spend hours lost in paintings and reading about their histories in the National Portrait Gallery, then this is well worth it.
Nice place though not as large of an exhibit area as we'd have thought. what was there was well done and engaging and it was not crowded which was nice for engaging with the things that were engageable. Admission fee--different than the Smithsonian freebies.
Always has interesting exhibits. Nice gift shop too.
Not worth the visit to the Titanic exhibition. Expected a lot more. The tomb of Christ was interesting though.
We were expecting a full museum for the 15$ entrance fee, but it was just an exhibit about the greeks... we wanted to see beautiful pictures but there wasnt any ! Dont go there and go to the smithsonian natural history museum if you want to see national geographic pictures !
