School field trip. Awesome place. Students- kindergarten - loved it...as did I!

Great opportunities to experience birds and their habitats up close. The staff are knowledgeable and invite visitors into their work.

We get in for free with our joint membership to here and the children's museum else it would not have been worth paying full price for admission. $17 per adult, $5 to park. Under 2 gets in for free. Our 1 1/2 year old was a little too young to really enjoy it. We stayed for about an hour, kind of small.

I havent been here since a kid, and overall I loved it and would come back. Parking us $5 for all day. They have 2 gift shops, and also 1 foodcourt area that has a variety of options. We stayed around 3.5 hours and got to see everything. Great for people of all ages. I recommend doing one of the feedings they have for a $3 or $5 option. They offered others but they were $25-$200 and were not really worth it. For example, you can pay $100 per person to feed the penguins (definitely an amazing experience), but i got to watch it for free! Thst goes to show with a few other offerings. Overall, would come again though, it was very pretty and fun to see over 100 different birds

My husband I loved the Aviary! Its unbelievable how many birds they have there. My favorite was the eagle and beautiful white owl. Its very family friendly and not very expensive. You can stay all day if you'd like and they have a little food court also. Its close to the children's museum also. Parking wasn't a problem at all.

Wonderful place for all birds lovers.... Could observe extremely cute and beautiful birds very closely. Also I really enjoyed feeding the toucan. It needed additional fee, but worth it. Highly recommend to both kids and adults.

Such a wonderful place to take the kids to. Birds get very close to you too. The staff is very pleasant and helpful and will answer any questions you may have.

Not worth the money. I ve been to multiple zoo s across the country that have more birds than here. Also, was not able to use my zoo discount or the coupon found in a flier. Only took an hour to go thru and that s with stopping and taking many pictures.

Amazing! Great place if you love parrots! Many different species such as the Palm Cockatoo, Green Macaw, Hyacinth Macaws, Lorikeets and two African Greys that sometimes talk! Amazing place to go.

What a great place. Every time my family visits we see something different. It is the perfect place on a cold day, rainy day or anyday in Pittsburgh. One of the top attractions of the area. So worth taking the time to visit all the many species of birds.

Wonderful experience to see all the birds. It has a great mix of birds from all over the world. Not sure whey they call it a "National" aviary, since more of the birds are from outside the US. My favorite room was the open one where some of the birds walk right up to you.

Love, love, love and little miss did too!! We went as soon as they opened on a Saturday and it was not overly crowded. We did a couple of feedings and spend about 1.5 hours here. Penguins were by far the most fun to see. They have an area to crawl under for the children to get closer to them.

Beautiful fully immersive facility. Birds seem happy, healthy and well taken care of.

I took my nieces here for a day trip and they really enjoyed it... just a bit pricey.

I've been tiwice before and always enhoyed it, the penguins are a favourite. Disappointed to find one of the largest exhibits closed for refurbishment. It would have been nice to have reduced the admission price to reflect this.

It was fun and awesome and informational their were lots to see and it was fun to here all the bird noises birds are awesome especially going to see the penguin eating that was entertaining , informative , and all around awesome you should go see thus place and even donate a dollar or more to help these birds and some of the indanger species ( not just the penguins )

I loved visiting the Aviary in Pittsburgh. The admission price was reasonable and they had lots of great birds to view and appreciate. I was also able to watch a baby sloth feeding! I'm not sure why sloths were kept at the Aviary, but it didn't bother me. There was also a modest food court, but I didn't partake in it.

Interesting place to visit. Room where mice live along with birds is a big surprise.

Nice place to visit with the family one time. You could not touch any of the birds but it was fun watching them fly around. The price was pretty high considering it only took an hour to get through all the exhibits. We paid $72 for 5 of us. They offered a membership for around $20 more but it's not a place I would go to more than once. The parking lot was so little so we had to park down the street.

Pretty cool place in North Side. Only went because my family wanted to go, but it there is definitely a lot there to see and experience/learn. You get to feed certain birds.. and i believe you have the option to interact with other birds (a sloth someone told me, but i can't verify that). Can be pretty pricey, but in my opinion it's worth it.

Very much enjoyed my time here though it is a bit of a quick run if you move fast. So take your time and I recommend going during the week if possible, it was pretty tight in some spots.

We stopped in for only a few hours and I wish we had spent the whole day! The number of rooms, species, and offerings at this aviary is truly special! We were able to get up and close to so many different types of birds and capture images and memories that are truly one-of-a-kind!

The jungle room is just a wide open large room with trees and birds everywhere making you feel like you re out of a movie or in some other land!

I love birds, so I was excited to soak it all in. But even if your not a bird lover or even have an opinion either way, this place will offer something you ll enjoy for guests of all ages!

If you have a young child who may not be old enough for the zoo. This is a great way to introduce them to animals. The birds are up close and the facility is the right size for smaller attention spans.

Fun, interesting, engaging for all ages. Not the largest place in the world, so it can be combed over in an hour and a half or breezed through in a half hour. Kid heavy, so that may be good or bad depending on your station, and it can get cramped and crowded. 18 bucks a person, 9 for military gets you in the doors to see the birdies. And they get up close! Many birdies are just out and about in their respective rooms. The staff are friendly, knowledgable and approachable. It's just another nice little hidden gem that Pittsburgh offers.

What a wonderful place to spend the day. So lucky to have a place like this in our region. Fun and educational for people of all ages.

We loooooooooove this place! It's an hour and a half to get there from Ravenna Ohio, but it's so worth the trip!

An awesome place to get close to nature and have fun learning!

Beautiful and interactive. Get there early on the weekends. When we went in staff were out holding pygmy falcons, american kestrels and barred owls, showing them to guests and teaching all about them. We also were lucky enough to see the baby flamingos. Definitely seems oriented more toward special passes (penguin encounter, etc.) Not as big as I expected.

Loved it. The different areas to walk through was great, and buzzed by a couple birds, rather than all being enclosed. Will come back again.

This was the first time I'd ever been. Being a life long Pittsburgher that seems borderline blasphemous. That being said, it was cool. No reason to go back anytime soon, though.

My wife and I really enjoyed our visit here. The facility was very clean and all of the staff were very friendly and informative. It is well worth the money. $15 per adult and $5 to park. That's less than what dinner costs at most restaurants. They offer a AAA discount of $2 per person so that made it even cheaper for us.

Loved the free flights of the many birds . Nice layout.The penguin feeding was neat to see. Condor, wow they are big.

Wonderful time. Conservation organization. Baby crane is adorable. Lots of educational opportunities for a relatively small amt of money.

The aviary is small but doesn't miss out any habitat. The birds are happy and well taken care of and the staff has a great knowledge of all the birds. Loved it!

I love it, Just wish it was longer, feels like before you know it the tour is over.

Great place! We really enjoyed our visit! Some people have complained about the size in the reviews. No, it's not huge but I felt that the price was reasonable for what we got to see and how much we enjoyed it. Obviously if you don't really like birds you might not have a good time, but if you do then check it out! One of our favorite parts was watching the flamingos fly around part of the aviary and get close to us. This isn't something you get to experience at a zoo!

Loved the variety of birds and most of them were free flying around you. I Definitely recommend this for any bird lover or something nice to do while in Pittsburgh.

Great place. Easy to go through a couple times a visit. Should have step stools in the bathroom for the kids though.

We LOVED our visit! The staff were all so friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the animals and birds. The Amazing Amazon show was very informational and entertaining. We loved seeing the star of the place- Vivienne, the new baby sloth. They have a great variety of birds and lots of opportunities to interact with them. Highly recommend when in Pgh!

Went here for a wedding. Amazing features, love the open concept for the aviary. Great hosts for a venue. The restaurant they contract with for weddings is phenomenal as well.
Highly recommended for small-medium wedding venue.

Wonderful place run by fantastic volunteers. Two things stood out for me. The birds are completely comfortable around the staff and visitors. The staff is very knowledgeable and very good at sharing that knowledge with the visitors. It is clear that the birds (and sloths) as well cared for.

Me and my fiancee went to the Penguin Encounter today and it was great. Our presenter was Chris and he was great. Very informative. Cant wait to do it again.

I went with my son, my brother and his wife for Mothers Day Brunch! This was such a wonderful day. The birds are so so pretty and interesting as well as the penguins. The Condor exhibit looked like Jurassic Park! Awesome day!

Very nice place to visit. The sloth visit was slightly expensive.$100 for 30 minutes. You could t even hold the sloth. The animals were amazing and they have a nice gift shop too.

Nice experience. Parking is minimal but overall good experience

Slightly overrated for the price and the parking lot is a pain in the ass. Cool to go at least once or if there is a special event. Good for kids since the birds are just roaming and flying around. The sloth is a cool sight as well.
