Absolutely great place to learn about birds. My 2 year old loved it. Specially the sessions with birds is good. Parking is big time problem so be ready to walk if you can't find parking at the site.

Loved this place!! Many beautiful, awe-inspiring birds to admire and learn about. The toucans, owls, and eagles were absolutely beautiful, and we got to see a Malayan bat take a poop! Haha

The general admission allows you to walk through the Aviary. You will have opportunities to interact with some birds in open spaces (please don't pet), while some are behind glass (the eagles have outdoor cages that have a glass wall, for example) or in cages. There was a free duck feeding when I was there. They also will bring out birds for an hour or so interaction time by the Penguins area. There are also special events you can pay to experience (feeding certain species, etc) that cost a little extra but give a personal experience with a birds. The staff is very friendly, looking for people who want to talk then sharing tidbits of info. It is a relaxing, enjoyable place.

We drove to Pittsburgh from Columbus OH to visit this place again. It is a wonderful place for bird lovers. I would especially recommend spending the extra money for the "Soar" show. It allows you.to watch birds of prey hunting, up close. It's thrilling.

One of my favorite attractions in Pittsburgh. So many species of birds from around the world. SOAR! is definitely worth it if weather permits. There are other fun activities such as feeding. The offer summer camps, which are fun and educational.

The best part of this aviary is that area where peacocks and other birds are freely walking around us. We really had fun in that section. Loved their daily show. Lots of birds and got to know so many things. The staffs are very knowledgeable. My husband is a big fan of birds. We even decided there what birds we are going to have as pet in future. We did not get any that we chose, those are for future. But now we have a hand raised cockatiel and a budgie. BTW, it was hard to find parking on the weekend. Make sure to go early to get parking space and enjoy the aviary to the fullest. We would love to go there again.

This place was nice but some of the exhibits we're really sad looking. I also thought that 16 dollars was abit pricey for as small as the place was. The parking lot was very small and we had to park on the street do to the lack of space. But other then that I really enjoyed it.

This was a lot of fun for me, my wife and two young children. The variety of birds was amazing. It was more enjoyable than I was expecting. Many of the rooms you went into allowed you to be next to the birds with no cage in between. There was a wide range of bird types from tropical to woodland. The penguin habitat had some dirty windows that made it somewhat difficult to see in places. I would definitely recommend this to someone looking to take their family.

Honestly one of my favorite places in the world. If you re a bird lover, you have to check the place out.
There s scheduled feeding times where you can also pay to participate with a variety of animals. The habitats are spacious and true to their natural climates. The animals look to be very well cared for and in good health. You will see birds and animals here that you may not ever see again in your lifetime as they have a lot of exotic species. I thoroughly enjoyed every second spent here, and will be making frequent trips back. The admission price is very reasonable as well.

I love the Aviary. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and obviously loves the birds. The Sea Eagles are my favorite. Really, there are too many cool things to mention here -- giant indoor spaces with their own ecosystem, penguins, condors, salty little burrowing owls. It's a unique place and well worth the two hours it takes to walk through. If you're afraid of birds, maybe skip it ;)

A Pittsburgh treasure. The boys (3) love watching the birds and it is a great place to go during the cold winter. Annual membership makes the most sense for a family. Santa is free and was one of the better experiences for the boys.

A little overpriced for what you get. I enjoyed looking at the birds, but a large portion of it was under renovation. Wait until July 2018 to visit when the whole facility is open again. They offer a small military discount.

Neat place to visit. They have a variety of birds and a few other animals too. Indoor and outdoor exhibits. Neat to walk through the different habitats like the rainforest and have the birds walk and fly around you. Neat glass tunnel that runs under the penguin tank to watch them play underwater.
Different presentations throughout the day. We watched the one on the baby sloth. They post the feeding times, so you can watch the animals eat. It was busy on a Saturday, but not overly crowded. Gift shop and snack shop also in the building.

Very unique zoo filled with birds where you can interact with them as they fly right among you. Different areas for various birds indoor and outdoor displays as well as a penguin habitat with water. You can also for additional cost feed birds also. Very unique experience and would highly recommend!
