Very confusing, I waited an hour until had a chance to talk to a doctor for 2 min, I was told their Lasik Eye Surgery business will be transferred to another institution called Sharp Vision and I should go talk to that institution.

If you need/want to get LASIK surgery, you must go to a Bellevue LASIK and Cataract. The staff were all very friendly and helpful when it came to answering all of my questions/concerns. Dr. Leavitt and Dr. Farag are both very professional, through, and explained everything that would go on during the process. Dr. Leavitt has an amazing bedside manner, and was able to keep me calm during my surgery. I am shocked at how easy the process was and how well I can see. I m thrilled to be out of my contacts. Thank you to the doctors and staff for giving me my eyesight. You are the best!

The staff was amazingly kind and accommodating not just to me but to my 4 1/2-year-old daughter who had to sit through a two hour pre-op appointment and and a half hour follow up tge day after surgery. I did not have Any of the complications or problems that many of my friends and family complained about, like dry, itch, inability to sleep etc. Dr. Farag was very personable and a total pro and the surgeon, Dr. Leavitt, was thorough and very reassuring. I would recommend anyone considering Lasic who knows nothing or who thinks they know everything about it to come to Bellevue here and experience it firsthand!

I had a wonderful experience at Bellvue lasik & Cataract. They made me feel very comfortable, spent as much time with me as I needed, answered all my questions thoroughly, and they were experienced and efficient.
I couldn't have asked for better service or a more experienced surgeon.
Thank you!!!

very disappointed in this surgery. I think Dr. Kent is a good surgeon, but I did not like how many different people I spoke to and referenced my file.. I felt there were so many levels before I met with Dr. that the clear message of what I wanted done, was forgotten in the shuffle. When I complained that I didn't get my eye site the way I wanted it, I was told there was a 25% chance it wouldn't stick. I firmly believe the surgery was done to have my eye be set up for distance instead of the close up it originally was and what I wanted. Very disappointed. Would not recommend.

Ok giving my 1 day post op LASIK review.

Ok giving my 1 day post op LASIK review.

Short Version: It's like a whole new world. I was never been able to see as well as I do now. I have no pain and the procedure itself was painless. For anyone on the fence about this procedure you should be thinking, "shut up and take my money." It's that awesome 10/10 but google only lets me give 5 stars.

Long Version:
I have used glasses since I was in 4th grade. My last pair was the highest end safety prescription glasses I could find. I scratched them and needed either new glasses or another option. Dr. Leavitt and his staff were amazing. They explained the procedure, risks (far less than wearing contacts), and any possible complications. I also watched the YouTube video showing the actual procedure in real time so I knew exactly what I was getting into (don't do this if you're squeamish).

Procedure Day: I picked up my eye drops from the pharmacy and headed upstairs. The staff went over the procedure and gave me the anti anxiety medication. Dr. Leavitt explained exactly what was going to happen and what I would feel before going in to the OR.

In the OR: The OR is dimly lit with a soft bed that you lay on. There are two steps to the procedure. Cut the flap and shape the cornea.

Cutting the flap: Dr. Leavitt numbs your eye with eye drops and places a reference mark with a fancy medical pen on both eyes. You don't feel it at all. You also don't have a feeling that you need to blink. You then get a suction cup device placed over the eye. Once again you feel nothing but a little pressure.
You are then placed under the machine and are looking at a ring of white LED lights. The machine presses on the suction cup and you see nothing out of that eye except a dull white light. The machine makes no noise and just when you think "when is it going to cut the flap?" it's done. Ie: no pain or anything odd, it's done. This is repeated for the other eye.

Lazing the Cornea:
Dr. Leavitt rotates the table over the the Lazing machine. He puts a lid holder on the eye being corrected and removes the flap. I was most freaked about this part before the surgery but needn't have been. Once again YOU FEEL NOTHING. You also don't see the flap being moved just a little bit of blurriness. After the flap is removed you get lazed.

Laser Part: The laser machine has an orange blinking dot. You look right at the center of the dot. When the machine starts, a fan makes a snapping noise, and you will see light blue flashes that are really dim as well as the blinking led that you are staring at. In my case each eye took about 30 seconds. You will smell a slight burning smell. Just think: "burning smell is bad vision leaving my eyes."

After the laser is done Dr. Leavitt places the flap back into position and smooths it with a sponge. Once again I was somewhat freaked out about this before the surgery but, YOU FEEL NOTHING and you don't see the actual sponging. After this is done in both eyes you will be instructed to keep your eyes closed or blink rapidly when walking to the car.

My vision was a little blurry immediately after the procedure but better then without glasses before surgery. After a few hours my vision was better than with glasses. The morning after the procedure my vision is mind blowing. Colors are super vivid and crisp. Really there is no way to describe how much better the world looks. It is truly life changing.

The only odd thing which is normal is that I can see a small fuzzy halo around bright LED lights. Dr. Leavitt has assured me that this will subside over time. Even if it didn't the procedure is so worth it. Dr. Leavitt also told me that as good as my vision is right now it will become even more stunning as the eye heals.

Note of Caution: The tape that they give you to hold you eye shields on sticks really well, especially to hair. Taking the tape off in the morning was the only pain/discomfort that I experienced throughout the entire process. Be careful and don't tape your hair before sleeping :)

I liked this place at first, but when I came in the next day for my dilated exam, my opinion changed. I had a chance to meet Dr. Leavitt and I thought that I would see him tomorrow as well but instead Dr. Farag came in. Dr. Leavitt saw that I was nervous about the surgery and that I have anxiety. I told him that I wanted to do PRK. When Dr. Farag came in, she began asking questions like "why PRK?", "you do know that for a person with anxiety the first few days after PRK might be harder?" These questions were making me feel more nervous which may have triggered my anxiety. After the dilated exam she said that they're agreeing to do the surgery. I confirmed this with her. I then decided to have my surgery done there. Later a lot of questions and concerns began arising in my head which made me call the office a few times to double-check with them. Next thing I know Dr. Leavitt calls me and tells me that he's refusing to do the surgery because he feels that I'm emotionally not ready for it. I know it's my fault for calling them too much, but I have the right to get all of my questions answered. Based on my experience here, I do not recommend this place. It was a bad one for sure.

Staff was wonderful as well as Dr. Leavitt and Dr.Farag. They were very accommodating to my schedule. I HAD a terrible stigmatism and near sightedness that made it so I could not drive at night, this is all better now and my vision is corrected to 20/15! Dr. Leavitt talked to me through the entire process and kept me calm, which was very appreciated. This has been one of the best things I could have done for myself and I am so glad I chose this location.
**Update, I had a vision exam and she could hardly tell I had Lasik. No lines where my flaps were cut and my vision is 20/15. I'm still amazed.

I went to have a minor cosmetic issue checked. After reassuring from Dr. Leavitt that it was a simple enough procedure and I would only need 3 days to recover, I agreed to it. The procedure was extremely painful, I ended up spending 2 years worth of vacation in bed. When confronted, he repeatedly dismissed me and kept telling me I was completely fine and just oversensitive or exaggerating.

I was really worried and looked for a second opinion. It turns out Dr. Kent didn t read my medical history (he had asked for it but openly admitted not reading it) and in there was a condition that I learned later the FDA lists as an absolute contraindication to eye surgery. Finally admitted my eye wasn t getting better, but that I would need yet another surgery in which I was at risk of loosing my eye.

It s been a year and although the eye looks great, it is permanently damaged from a needless and expensive surgery. Found the interaction with the doctor extremely difficult and distrustful and the whole experience negligent. Please do not put your eyes in the hands of this aloof person.

UPDATE:

24 hours after writing this, I was promptly contacted by Bellevue LASIK asking me to come in. A very attentive office manager took the time to go over in detail to the breach of trust I just described. After reporting double vision, discomfort and loss in quality of life, Dr Kent answered that everything looked fine and that it was all in my head and I should just keep my mind off it. The visit was free.

I flew all the way from Georgia to get my eyes fixed by Dr.Leavitt. In my opinion he is the best ophthalmologist in the U.S. There was NO discomfort and definitely NO pain during or after the surgery. Their staff helped me feel 100% comfortable. The surgery was quick and the recovery was extremely fast. Within 24 hours my vision was 20/10. Dr.Leavitt exceeded all of my expectations.

I had Dr. Leavitt perform lasik surgery 5 years ago to correct my vision. I was nervous about the surgery but Dr. Leavitt and his staff were very reassuring and talked me through the entire procedure. It was a very calm and comfortable experience. My vision was so much better immediately! My reading vision is perfect now. It is so nice not to have to carry reading glasses and to be able to read menus in restaurants. I would recommend Dr. Leavitt and Dr. Farag at Bellevue Lasik and Cornea to anyone and I have recommended them to many of my friends.

Everything from my initial appointment to the day after my surgery was wonderful. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I was very nervous about the surgery but it was a BREEZE. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Leavitt and his office and the procedure itself. My follow-up appointment the very next day after surgery - I was seeing 20/15. I have had no issues, no discomfort and I'm just so happy I did this!

The process of getting LASIK is (appropriately) in...

The process of getting LASIK is (appropriately) intimidating, but Bellevue Lasik & Cataract has a smooth and thorough process that makes it as easy as possible. Scheduling was relatively easy, and thth were prepared to perform my surgery the following week. We had some mutial conflicts, though, and I ended up getting the procedure done last week.

I was prepared for the worst (thanks, internet!) but the chill environment combined with the staff's professionalism - not to mention the pre-op Ativan - made the procedure a breeze. They were careful communicators before, during, and after the 15 minutes I spent under the lasers, and I was already at 20/15 the next morning! Healing has gone well because I've followed their (non-complex) instructions exactly, and I'm so psyched about my new vision.

I would totally recommend this place to anyone considering LASIK!

I had cataract surgery with Dr. Leavitt in Monroe 2 years ago. I had multiple medical issues at the time but being nearly blind was the only thing on my mind. Dr. Leavitt, his staff and the staff at the Monroe clinic were amazing. My eyesight was perfect within minutes after the surgery. I nearly cried when I realized that I could clearly see the clock across the room. I never took the time to thank Dr. Leavitt and all the staff responsible. What could I possibly say? My eyesight has remained as perfect after 2 years as the day of surgery. Thank you, thank you all.

I had a wonderful experience here. Not having to wear glasses anymore is such a relief. I can now swim, ski, and do so many activities without having to worry about my glasses. The office was very professional and efficient. I would recommend them to anyone thinking about having their vision corrected.

What an amazing experience! I ve been wanting Lasik for a few years now so when I got a recommendation from a client who works in the industry I knew it was time to pull the trigger. He told me of Dr. Leavitt and highly suggested I check out Bellevue s Lasik & Cornea for a free consultation. The entire staff was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. They explained everything in detail and told me exactly what to expect from the surgery and during recovery. I had the surgery yesterday morning and it was a breeze! It was totally pain free except for a few stinging eye drops, but they were totally worth it. These folks are awesome. If you are going to trust anyone to open your eyeballs and shoot lasers in, choose Dr. Leavitt and his talented staff.

I absolutely loved my experience at Bellevue Lasik and Cataract. The staff was incredibly helpful, welcoming and knowledgeable. They put me at ease from the moment I had my lasik consultation, through pre/post op appointments and most importantly, while going through the surgery. My results thus far have been phenomenal. I can t explain the life changing reward of changing my eyesight from legally blind to 20/20 vision I m less than an hour. Thank you to the incredible team at Bellevue Lasik. I ll continue to shar my experience with my contacts/glasses wearing family and friends!

I had an excellent experience at Bellevue Lasik! The entire staff was super friendly, professional, and really cared -- like answering any and all questions and greeting me by my first name (even when I had only been there once prior). Dr. Kent who did my surgery was amazing. I'm a baby and was terrified but he talked me through the whole procedure and even rallied my spirits. Being told I was doing great was super relieving. I'd never had lasers shot at my corneas before so I had no base for knowing if things were going ok :)
Well, everything went great. I can see!! I don't have to wear glasses and can hike in the rain!! Yay!

Had LASIK done about 2 weeks ago here. My father had eye surgery here previously so I was comfortable going to get LASIK done here. Cost was pretty reasonable with the VSP discount, about $1600 per eye. Surgery was performed with the latest equipment. I've gone from seeing 20/40 to 20/15 and it's like going from a CRT TV to 4k... totally incredible!

I am so happy with the results of my LASIK surgery. I always feared it but finally decided to take a chance and I'm so glad I did. The staff at at Bellevue Lasik & Cataract are very friendly and explained the entire procedure and answered all of my questions. The male doctor who preformed the surgery has decades of experience. I had 15/20 vision less than 24 hours after surgery and continue to have great vision. I was fortunate and had zero complications. I'm so glad I decided to get the surgery and that I found such a wonderful clinic to preform the procedure. My quality of life has improved because of Bellevue Lasik & Cataract.
