I was disappointed in the lack of 60's and 70's classic cars. There are only a couple, it's mostly cars from the last 20 years or so. Lots of footage from the early days, but no cars. How could you not have a superbird/Daytona? The most iconic of the heyday of nascar.
The NASCAR Hall of Fame is a must see in Charlotte NC!!!! Again I came here with my cousin Vinny two years ago and it was probably my favorite thing I did in Charlotte. I loved seeing all of the cars and the history related to NASCAR. It is a must see for everyone!!!! I spent a whole day here and it was not boring at all. Plus there is a simulated race car you can drive which was really fun and cool. Also it is in Uptown ( Downtown Charlotte) so there is a lot to do after the museum related to eating, and other fun activities.
Beautiful display of legendary racing history with huge and vivid displays of new and old vehicles from the outside I, you get a great view at how it all works. From the cars to the driver's to management. Very in depth and in the great City of Charlotte. Plus, the racing simulator is pretty cool!
If you are a fan of nascar and its history you need to visit. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The only problem we had was getting into and out of Charlotte.
If you happen to be a Nascar fan this is the place to go and see. There is different admission package available to purchase. Winter and summer hours are different.
Even if you're not a NASCAR fan, you'll enjoy a visit to the NASCAR HOF. Detailed information about NASCAR past and present, great information about the technology in the support, and how the sport has changed through the years.
Very cool experience! Definitely worth checking out. We came as part of a work event and since not really into racing I may not have gone otherwise but glad I did
Every race fan needs to visit. All the memorabilia and interactive experiences was incredible. There was so much to see and do. Alot of learning about history and what teams go through and accomplish each week.
As a wife of a NASCAR fan, I was truly unprepared to find this interesting and educational. The displays are well done and there was an excellent mix of visual, audio and interactive displays and activities. We did the race simulation three times, three more than I thought I would do! It was a fun day.
This is a great place for anyone with an interest in NASCAR. Wether you go with the guys or take the whole family. It's a great experience for all. My husband and I have been many times over the last several years. He's very knowledgeable in everything NASCAR, not just current stats and news. He knows it all the way back to the roots. He knows people associated with the NASCAR world and was the one who got to mix the paint for Benny's car (he's very proud of that!) Today was our best experience. It is the second time we've been since we had our little one. The staff was all so kind as our little one ran around and explored the world of NASCAR, being able to interact with the touch screens, play with the track and see all the people. A special thanks to a staff member named Matt. He gave our little girl her first car (that will be cherished forever in her daddy's NASCAR themed shop) not only did you make her day, you made ours. As parents your kindness goes so far. It goes past that big smile on her face. It touched us as you were so kind, took time to come over and talk with her! We will definitely be back to put our membership pass to use.
First off I am not a Nascar fan but I do like sports in general. This is a great place for any nascar fan to check out. It should keep you busy for at least a couple hours and maybe more depending on how much you read on all the different displays. I'm glad I went to see it but I would suggest non sports fans and non motorsport fans take a pass on this one, it will be extremely boring for you.
Great experience.. took my dad who used to race circle track dirt cars and my son who has never been a follower of racing. Both of them and myself had a fantastic time! Definitely worth it!!
There is so much stuff to see and do here. The old cars are awesome. You really need a full day to see and do everything. I highly recommend if you are a race fan!!!
I really enjoyed my visit and the history of NASCAR was fascinating. There were some really creative interactive exhibits and best of all was of course the simulator. My one gripe was the cost seemed a little high for what was available, probably took me 3 hours to do everything and see what I wanted. If I had to recommend anything to someone visiting it would be to get the upgraded tickets that include the food. One sandwich was $6 which cost more than the $5 upgrade. The upgrade included a sandwich, chips and a drink so it's actually a better deal if you plan on grabbing a bite while there. The food selection is very small and is what you would expect from a quick bite pit stop, hotdogs, burger, BBQ sandwich. The staff is extremely frendly and easy to talk to,they are very knowledgeable which is nice to have in a place like this.
I have been here twice and have loved each time. They have so many interesting displays, several about Nascar legends which are very interesting especially for any Nascar fans! They have differnet booths throughout the Hall of Fame were you earn points by showing off your Nascar/car knowledge. And at the end of your visit, you can log your points into the leaderboard. The Hall of Fam also has some free interactive games (like changing a tire in pit row while actually being timed!), which are fun for the whole family! There are usualy never any lines so geting your tickets is fast and easy. The gift shop is also full of cool take homes to remember your visit with. This is a must go and see if you're in the area or even to plan for as a stop on a summer vacation.
This place is awesome, especially if you're a big Nascar fan. I'm not, but I still had fun doing the simulator and admiring the beautiful building, the checkered walkway, and the famous cars inside.
This is a great place to visit regardless if you're a NASCAR fan or not. Coming up from a family that enjoyed the old hay day of NASCAR when racing was truly racing it was a great experience! I definitely recommend giving it a whirl and all the simulators are a blast to do! Definitely get there and spend the full 2hrs the staff recommends!
If you are interested in Nascar, you will find a great deal of material to play with here. Activities ranging from the cars on display to the pitstop challenge and sim racing.
Mixed feeling on this attraction: On one hand its a must if you like Nascar and all the history around it. On the other side tickets are quiet expensive for what you get, you have some attractions, some cars and so on, but it could be a little bit less. I liked it, but you must really be a Nascar fan to enjoy all the stuff. I give it 4 stars - a real fan would give 5 stars, people who have no connection with Nascar may give only 1 star ...
This is a alsome place to come to if you love cars and thear is this thing that feels like you are driving in real life and thear are things that teaches you about all of the different drivers over all of the years of NASCAR it is so much fun I have gone 4 times it is one of the best place to for like a feld trip so it is so much fun and that is it I loved it there I think I might go back for my 5 time I loved you should go some time to
Fantastic museum. Although I prefer the origins of NASCAR and the early production based cars, this was a great experience. Lots of information and great history.
I enjoyed my time here. The museum was a little small but had tons of information if you take the time to read it. Being able to see disqualified parts up close was very interesting.
Awesome exhibits and hands-on displays, great for families and anyone with any interest at all in cars, NASCAR, and racing. There are activities like the pit crew challenge or racing simulators that you can challenge others you're with.
Avid NASCAR fan and first visit to Charlotte. Fans of all generations will find something they love and remember. Newer fans or those that are new to the sort will find things easier to understand and with the little games, challenges, and driving simulators, this is a place that can help bring the sport to the younger generation. I will definitely be visiting again.
We enjoyed our visit, simulators where fun, staff was helpful, we really enjoyed exhibits and tributes to those who made Nascar what it is. Definitely recommend .
A must visit for NASCAR fans. Super clean facility with a ton of educational and interactive displays. Plan on spending at least a few hours browsing the museum.
This was an awesome experience. There were learning games that teach you about race cars. I would 100% reccomend the unlimited simulation rides. We had a blast!!
What a fun time! Especially if you are a Nascar fan/racing fan/car fan. Located downtown Charlotte, easy to find. Upon entry you get an interactive card to use that allows you to experience different aspects of racing. Try your driving abilities at the simulated track. Be part of a pit crew and change a tire (you're timed!). Museum is filled with race car memorabilia with everything you want to know about your favorite driver. There's the history of racing and real cars from way back then. For the mechanically inclined there are displays on the nuts and bolts of engine building. Lots and lots of cars to see. You can give feedback about your experience before you leave. They post some of the handwritten surveys, which are neat to read.
