We traded our '12 Charger SXT for a new Jeep. The Charger did not have the SXT emblem on trunk, as most do, and they convinced us the previous dealer that we bought it from, must've lied to us and sold us an SE, the cheapest trim package available, and offered us the lowest, rough, SE trade-in price. The car was far better than rough condition. Good condition would've been a fair description. They claimed they got their info from Carfax and it did not show the car as an SXT. We reluctantly agreed to the offer thinking that was probably the best offer we would get, since it was just an SE, although we did get them to come up $500, still over $2000 less than the actual average trade in value for an SXT in good condition. After the deal was done and papers were signed we were cleaning out the car and found the original window sticker and there it was, right on the top "SXT". We showed it to the salesman and he tried to brush it off and pretty much told us that because the car had the cheaper radio and no rear spoiler that it was just a "cheap, cheap, cheap" version of the SXT package and it wasn't worth anymore than an SE. Hindsight being 20/20, we should've been more vocal about it, but we weren't. We discussed it on the drive home and felt more and more dissatisfied with the deal. They told us that the Carfax "wasn't coming up as an SXT", but when my wife looked it up on Carfax later, again, there it was, plain as day, SXT. SXT's average $2,000-3,000 more than an SE. We were told, as all dealerships do, if there's any problems, to call them right away and they would do whatever they could to resolve it. We called them Monday and told them we weren't happy about the deal and pretty much got the run around from anyone we talked to until late Friday when we were finally told by the sales manager, in a roundabout way, too bad. They said if they had overpaid for a trade in, they wouldn't call the customer and ask them to pay back what was overpaid. Nice attitude. So much for customer satisfaction.
