A stunning museum. Beautiful works of art. There's a lot to see. Including a collection of Egyptian art from the time of the Pharaohs. Mummies and more. Works from different periods from different countries.
So I went to see the "draped" exhibit. Very nice exhibition, welcoming staff, everything is perfect, nothing to say
Grandiose, beautiful discovery of paintings and sometimes gigantic works.
The LYON Museum of Fine Arts is huge, and a bit the main theme is religious art
Amazing museum, a pity that the supervisors allow themselves to literally make fun of the visitors ..
Very beautiful place; interesting temporary exhibition like every time! Cafe museum also pleasant with the terrace overlooking the gardens to recommend the Flower of the a new experience
A place where you can explore with a student fare of 4 euros.
It is considerably larger inside than it looks, and there are many things to see. The best advantage is that there are not many tourists, so you can see it comfortably.
We visited it as part of the Los Modernos exhibition, the rather expensive entry for a public museum ( 7.50) but the exhibition was extraordinary but there were no more posters next to it of that, the permanent collection and also very interesting, with a most interesting medal.
The Saint Pierre Palace before being a museum of fine arts, was a cloister. From the beginning of the second millennium, the ladies of St Pierre, the Benedictines, occupied this building. This real estate complex was partially rebuilt during the 17th century and kept its religious function until the revolution when it was closed. It was during the consulate that it gradually became a real estate complex dedicated to art. It will become the seat of the School of Fine Arts.
This museum is ideally located in the heart of the city, on the Place des Terreaux, at the foot of the Croix Rousse hill, next to the town hall and close to the opera house.
The website is mediocre. We do not even find ticket prices
The collection of this museum is certainly quite beautiful, the professionalism of the employees leaves much to be desired. They should not take people for idiots and let them visit the museum quietly while ensuring that people do not make too much noise.
A young employee who did not manage to explain to a foreign tourist that one should not make noise so as not to disturb the others to prefer to change the room in order to be "calm"
Place full of history.
A classic to do and to redo, for the people of Lyon but also for people passing through.
Beautiful inner courtyard where calm reigns despite the bustle, the noise of the city 2 steps!
It is not a grand museum but it has especially wonderful collection of sculptures along with others.( if you are a fan of Monet or Henri Martin, it is absolutely worth visiting) I spent 2h30 here. The courtyard is a gem!
The works are magnificent the museum is very beautiful. I really like to see for the amateurs and others to stroll the garden is really good.
Museum of fine arts quite classical, only originality part of the visit takes place in an adjoining old chapel
Not one word in English about the art, in the 21st century... are you serious?!
Always nice for the frame and the collections! My 6 year old son loves!
Very nice museum, shame there are smells of cooking in some rooms.
Thoroughly enjoyed my visit here. Many paintings housed in this beautiful building with an amazing courtyard.
A museum that I love so much that I had to do it 10 times in the space of 3 years
Better than expected. Entrance Entrance Looking at Rodin and Burdell statues in a charming garden. The inside of the building is exhibited in various ways from ancient times to modern times. Meals are recommended in restaurants with a huge Raul Dufy picture in the museum.
There is a set menu of 18 in the city pub, but if the single meal is 16 , it is expensive, but the quality is different.
Very beautifull! Wonderful the paintings of Renoir Courbert, Manet, and many others, the hall of sculptures, the halls dedicated to ancient Egypt, I recommend spending half a day there to visit it all calmly.
Inside there is a wonderful restaurant bar with terraces overlooking the museum's inner courtyard.
These art museums should be consumed without moderation with also free admission during the summer ...
Beautiful night monument during the Festival of Lights
Exhibition Claude very interesting especially since Claude was born in lyon where the street of tables Claudian ... except that we learn at this exhibition that there is only one table (split in 2) then the story is wrong very beautiful statues .. the why of how of the family well explained..and objects which deserve reflection.
We took the opportunity to admire in the permanent exhibition Spanish paintings from Italy and from the Netherlands to others.
Museum held very well, interesting works and excellent insights.
Unfortunately, just before it closed they literally forced us out, even before finishing the tour.
Anyway, recommended at least to see Gauguin.
I had a wonderful time in this museum for the second time during the Los Modernos exhibition. We did not return to the permanent exhibition this time, but we will definitely be back. Not to spoil anything, the building is magnificent with a beautiful free park.
At the moment a very nice exhibition not to be missed. Jean Baptiste Perronneau, a genius portrait painter in the Europe of the Enlightenment
beautiful ... all functional as a modern museum, in a corner full of history, arts and beauty to start from its gardens. Very unique exhibition that I stinks even at Passover, this year, "The portrait of Rembrandt to the selfie .."
Museum located in town with a free for children and non-taxable people.
it is accessible in stroller and for person with reduced mobility.
The museum has elevator.
It is enriching and has a collection of Roman antiquities, egyptian, Greek .... rather interesting.
to do with family.
Very beautiful collections but a deplorable Internet service 45 minutes on site to be able to make a reservation! Very kind welcoming people who can not help it. Museum difficult to access for the physically disabled.
Pleasant museum. Not too big, but not too small. The same can be said about the collection. Two hours of leisurely contemplation will be enough. And do not forget to go down to the hall with sculptures.
Truly essential! For 8 (full adult price) you have access to several permanent collections of art and everyday objects ranging from antiquity to the time of Christianity. Plan around 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes for your visit, and take full advantage
It's magic We have seen the movies or not We go back in our time and what work to see
Superb museum with an enchanting garden, (donation of Jacqueline Delubac, and sculptures in the chapel in the basement).
It is an indoor garden at the unique Museum of Fine Arts where he reigns calm and serenity
Museum at the top but its restaurant coffee no one to see again
A breathtaking exhibition! We went there to visit Picasso's bathers. The museum offers a reinterpretation of the theme of the bather in the work of Pablo Picasso with counterpoints from the work of 19th century More
Large museum on several floors, great diversity of collections and quality of the proposed masterpieces (Monet, Soulage, Rubens, Rodin, Delacroix, etc.). Allow 2 hours without hanging out too much in the rooms to go around.
Very nice museum divided by subject areas. Full ticket price 8 euros, reduced 4 (including university students up to 25 years).
interesting exhibition very beautiful works beautiful presentation
We loved this museum, with these magnificent paintings, especially those of Louis Janmot.
A must to visit or relax in the garden. Very calm and rejuvenating.
Good selection of Impressionist work. The large painting in the last gallery by Francois Joseph Heim is amazing. The more you look the more you see.
I was a little disappointed the building is not up to a museum
Little haven :)
I highly recommend taking a tour for culture including :)
It is a very beautiful museum of permanent exhibitions of painting, very great artists, to see and review without forgetting all the exhibitions of sculptures, and also the temporary exhibitions.
Beautiful museum with its quiet garden in the center of the city
Superb museum, a Louvre miniature (it's not pejorative!)
The collections are varied and rich, there is something for everyone!
Very beautiful building, beautiful objects, what a real museum! For amateurs: Magnificent numismatic exhibitions, I didn't want to leave!
Really nice museum. The ticket prices are very cheap.
Wonderful collection of artwork ranging from paintings, sculptures to currency. I recommend visiting during one of the musee nocturne nights and enjoy the various performance that are located throughout the venue. A great place to spend an evening with friends.
