Beautiful collections. Presence for the Renaissance exhibition in Lyon, superb!
If you are passing through Lyon you should definitely visit this museum
Collections of remarkable paintings. An exception not to be missed in the provinces.
I will come back to that.
Very nice free museum on the first Sunday of each month. Museum staff can be a bit tyrannical with some visitors
I love to relax in the haven of tranquility that is the cloister of this former convent where the people of Lyon like to come and chat and daydream.
I also love to visit the 7000 square meters of the Museum where are presented rich collections of Antiquities, works of art, coins and medals, sculptures and paintings.
A wonderful collection of pieces and a gorgeous garden.
Great museum with a huge collection. Loved the Picasso exhibition.
Great museum. A must see if your in town. The garden is a magnificent retreat from the city chaos outside.
Excellent sensory exposure, could have been more important, but very good
Guided tour of the Picasso exhibition too bad the guide was inaudible because the visits follow one another and the other guides had strong voices and we missed the comments despite our repeated requests for organization and staff to review
This museum was so good that I went there twice (in 3 days). It has some fantastic paintings that you won't see anywhere else. Also notable is its stellar Egyptian collection.
Beautiful architectural museum and works displayed there. It is a whole in this museum, ranging from sculpture, to painting and to the crazy contemporary works. There is also a work with Smurfs that moves you past. It is a museum to discover, the part of the sculpture would make blush the most prudish. The gallery of paintings is sublime as the room with flowers, the must the contemporary part, sometimes you have to laugh at the culture, you will not cut it.
The museum is on several floors and the stairs are huge but there are elevators so very positive point.
Conclusion, for the joy of the eyes, it is an obligatory place to spend a long time without making head.
Wonderful selection of fine art spanning many centuries and laid out beautifully. Lots of space to take your time and absorption this historical context and beautiful art.
My favourite by far is the marble sculpture exhibition displayed in a beautiful part of the museum.
A very beautiful collection of more the interior garden allows the relaxation
The interior courtyard and garden are very pleasant, dotted with works of art: a haven of beauty and peace in the heart of the city, a stone's throw from the bustle of Place des Terreaux.
1 haven of peace in the bustle of the city. Very pleasant place conducive to calm
What a wonderful surprise this museum was. I wasn't expecting a huge museum filled with so much art covering so many periods. It is a must see in Lyon! The Egyptian sectian was particularly beautiful!
With a small park with trees at the entrance, the museum is well designed and with many themes that allow you to travel in time. It is accessible to people with reduced mobility and the audio guide gives us a lot of additional information on the works on display.
Magical and beautiful place, at the turn of a few minutes see hours be outside time
Very large museum with an impressive collection. I loved it but just a bit of a shame with all these elements on Africa we don't even have enough on our shelves
A good collection of paintings. But the uncomfortable opening hours of the first floor. Study your work hours before you go.
The entrance costs 9 euros ... Do not be sad! The museum is simply delightful! From Egyptian antiquities to works of modern art, the collection of the museum is exuberant and definitely worth a visit!
A real treat ! The building is splendid, the collection exceptional, the garden ideal for daydreaming. A very high quality site.
We went to an exhibition of Matisse that was really good, and the rest of the museum was very good too.
Peeero, the dirt that prevailed in the museum was not normal. I have never seen such a dirty museum. Balls of fluff everywhere shaved and gave a very bad feeling.
The museum is open from 10 am to 6 pm every day except Tuesdays and holidays! The price of a ticket without discounts is 8 euros ... The audio guide is only in French and English ... There is a restaurant, a shop and toilets ... You can take photos ... In the museums there are paintings by famous artists, sculptures and antiquities of Egypt, Greece and Italy.
A GREAT EXCELLENT WONDERFUL Museum. Great setting next to Place des Terreaux. A journey through art and history. Greeks, Pharaos, Pheonicians, Muslims, Christians and others. A great inner court. Calm and Cozy far from the bustling of the city. It also has a bar where you can eat and drink. Takes two to three days to visit if you are serious. ENJOY
Beautiful place to do Very beautiful museum in a beautiful building with lots of works lots of beautiful things beautiful discovery
For those who love modern art and more ... unmissable !!
Lovely garden and loggia with very important sculptures!
Too bad that to access even the garden only you have to pay the ticket.
Fabulous collection of impressionist artwork that is a must see for art lovers visiting Lyon. We enjoyed a relaxing lunch on the balcony and looked around the gallery afterwards. Would definitely recommend the audio guide for more information about the art.
The entrance garden, where the locals go to eat their sandwich, is a beautiful haven of peace. Already inside it has almost everything a little but just to see the Impressionism it is worth paying the 7.
Great museum. Not huge but mostly an impressive collection of painting. Nor is it as bustling as the museums of the big cities. And you do not have to stand in line to see Picasso ...
Very beautiful museum concentrating beautiful works of various eras
Superb museum!
Some commentators complain of a lack of life. From a too academic presentation.
On the contrary, that's what makes it so charming!
Quiet, well-lit rooms, well presented works, not overloaded. Nothing to do with the screaming cosmopolitan hordes that roam the corridors and galleries of the Louvre!
The unbridled sensuality of James Pradier's Odalisque around which you can turn for several minutes in perfect solitude, will compensate for the absence of the victory of Samothrace, certainly sublime, but besieged by hundreds of tourists uncultivated in a deafening noise at Louvre.
With regard to provincial museums, only the Museum of Fine Arts in Dijon outperforms the MBA in Lyon.
So, no, if I had any advice to give: do not change anything!
The works are beautiful. However, I regret that some lights are very badly placed and do not value the works at all
Very pretty garden, peaceful, shaded, very pleasant for a lunch break.
Nice place but expo on the modernos a little disappointing
The art pieces in this museum is impressive and could almost rival those in the Lourve Museum in Paris.
This small art museum houses a good selection of fine classical pieces spanning multiple periods. Good place to be and stroll through on a weekend afternoon. The courtyard is a peaceful respite away from the bustle of the square, Place see Terreaux, directly outside.
Museum worth a detour.
Do not miss.
A downside: the access price a little expensive compared to the prices of Parisian museums.
Superb museum with art on several levels and over several centuries, really beautiful
Very nice museum with beautiful exhibitions, beautiful pieces.
Great collections dont miss the egyptology section with great temple parts and mummies
One of Lyon's great treasures. The museum boasts an excellent collection, a capable and friendly staff, and a wonderful courtyard that provides a peaceful place to escape the crowds of the city center. Don't miss the excellent sculpture hall and the small-format landscapes by 19th century Lyon artists.
Magnificent, sumptuous, divine museum where our senses fly into the marvelous world of the Arts. To discover and rediscover endlessly. It is also one of the museums which exhibits a very large number of Rodin's sculptures (including the thinker).
Very beautiful pieces well put in values tracing all the periods of the art.
A poor, uninteresting collection. Look, except for the interiors nothing.
Rather expensive for families and also for art teachers who have to work there many times a year. Very nice museum.
I did not think it was so big! Almost plan a whole afternoon. Beautiful collection
Beautiful museum. Temporary exhibition of beautiful invoice. It is the second collection of France, after the Louvre. Long live Lyon.
The museum offers us a pleasant walk in Art through the centuries that leads us from ancient Egypt to Picasso. You have to run to this very rich and pleasant museum.
Not bad very large museum with a lot of choice see too much but very nice overall
Very handsome museum with extensive collection, but you will not find absolute masterpieces ...
An excellent place, an affordable price for the whole museum including temporary exhibitions (10 normal rate and 7 for 18/26 years).
An exhibition on Matisse very well done and that I recommend, for all ages!
Enormous, well paced, and excellent collection of statuary, antiquities, and paintings from the 16th century to the 20th. A fine cafe at the mid-way point makes it easy to spend the whole day here - and you'll need it. 8 for a non-student adult all-day pass, with complimentary coat and bag check.
Very nice museum and big, take your time but you will walk, Egypt and the Sumerians are my 2 favorite exhibitions, there are also very beautiful scluptures and paintings, large impressive too. To have.
I was very surprised by the quality of this museum and all you can see in it
A great museum in a beautiful, historic building. One of the few museums in Lyon that are also open on Mondays.
Museum lovely and open. Cafe not great but could have been a bad day
Nice art museum. Beautiful works and much less crowded then others in France. It is also easy to find your way around. Would definately recommend. The only downside was purchasing tickets and the way the entrance is set up, it cause a bit of confusion if more than a few people are there at once
Superb museum. Very nice collection. To watch again and again.
Very nice museum with the art of the different continents. Very informative. Beautiful objects and painting with descriptive. To recommend
I went there for the Franco Mexicaine exhibition. A wonder ! Especially for a great follower of Frida Khalo ..
