Was a decent concert location, however many people were told they couldn't use their cameras to take pictures, yet people with their phones out were not even talked to by security, and i couldnt see half the time because of it (i am height challenged) there was no signs posted that cameras could not be used at the location that I could see. Either no camera's or phones or don't say anything at all need some consistency.

I did not walk in. As a bus driver I pulled up at 4 am, parked out front, and the staff left the shore power room open and the power of my for me. I was happy.

Beware that normally buses park on the steep hill next to the club w/o shore power and if gens are running there's a hard 1130 o m curfew due to noise. I plugged at 4 and stayed until 2 the next morning no issues.

This stuffy old venue has some amazing acoustics. A little air flow would be nice for such a small place. The stage is small and the space outside for fresh air was extremely limited. The drinks were good and great bartending staff. The other staff was a bit rude and almost kicked a group of people out that were standing in front of a group of people "vaping". Not mad at the fact that they don't allow it just when you accuse someone of it make sure it's the right people. Had a good time none the less. Would be nice to have some more seating available for people who would like to get off their feet for a bit.

I've been going to this venue for years now and have gotten to watch it grow. I always have a good time watching shows. Staff are friendly and service is very good. I would recommend it to anyone for any concert.

You haven't experienced a live show until you've been to Mr. Smalls. A converted church in the heart of Millvale (a run down town straight out of any Romero zombie movie) has some of the best acoustics in the Pittsburgh area. If you leave disappointed after a show there you don't know what music is.

This is by far the best venue I have ever been to. It's a small space, but it gives concerts an intimate feel, not a claustrophobic one. The band's that play here are always amazing. The venue itself is amazing. The security is very good, and not overbearing. We took my 5 year old and my 7 year old to see Between the Buried and Me, The Dear Hunter and Leprous here. It was their first concert. The security watched out for them, made sure they had ear plugs, and told us where to get some if any were lost. I can't say enough good things about this venue and look forward to many more shows here.

Dont advertise that you have to pay 35 PER SEAT to sit up on the balcony, and that you can call ahead to reserve. Stood for 4 hours while everybody played the push and shove game.....dont go without getting a balcony seat. Also, is apparently okay for people to openly smoke pot during an event. You'll leave snelling like pot.

Both the staff, the audience, and the Artists are treated well here and that makes a world of difference in the vibe of every single event. As an audience member it s nice to know your dollars are folded back into the local scene.
Gotta mention the weekly Monday open mics these are the best in the burg and hosted by a revolving cast of local artists. This venue has soul. Just order something from the menu and you ll understand.

We had an excellent time here! Doors were at 7 for sold out show, and we heard parking was a pain so we got there about 6. Got a spot like 10' from the venue. The parking is free, on street. Couple bars near by so we just walked up the street and killed time there. The venue was awesome. We had upper level balcony seats and man was that the way to go. Our balcony reservation fee ($45 each) went toward our food and drinks. You can get what you want at the bar or they will come around and take your order. We had a perfect view of the stage from the balcony. And plenty of room. Also, they have a really nice outside area you can go cool off or have a smoke. Overall, we were super pleased to see a show here and would definitely come back.

When i visited we went to the "funhouse" it was pretty tiny but the music quality was amazing and the lights flowed perfectly with it, I would highly reccomend if you're looking to find new local bands to listen to

Excellent! Had the reserved seats which were a great view of stage and great deal. Sara was a very attentive server and made sure our food was taken care of and replenished our beverages continually. Food was ok and the mixed drinks strong. Would definitely go back.
Nice older venue with good acoustics and attentive staff.

Really unique concert venue close to the city. Big ole church redone. We did the "balcony experience." It's a price upgrade but totally worth it. The extra money goes towards your bar and food tab! Floor is great too. A must-do for Pittsburghers.

Had a great time. They let us in right at 7 as the ticket stated, security was quick but good and the staff was very friendly. Inside there were a lot of people for the concert but people were courteous and friendly.
The bar had tons of good beers to choose from and prices are typical of being close to the city, beer was fresh and good tasting and the bartender was friendly.

Really fun place to see many different kinds of shows. I've seen some jambands as well as a few other shows and always have a great time. The VIP balcony tickets can be a good bargain too. I really want them to make a spinoff/spoof character mascot called Senor Pequenos and have a t-shirt design contest. That would be really nifty!

I'm not much of a concert-goer anymore, but Mr. Small's is one of my favorite venues. As something of a work-in-progress in past years, it's done, now, and both the main hall (the church sanctuary) and the cafe are quite comfortable and a great place to see a performance. The acoustics of the main hall are great, and the sound system is well-balanced, powerful and yet not too loud, with solid bass, distinct mid-range and brilliant treble. The main floor, as usual these days, is standing only, but for a fixed fee, VIP seating is available, with food and beverage service, with great sight lines to the stage.

The only thing missing, really, is off-street parking, but even with well-attended shows I've had no difficulty finding a space without much of a walk.

This place is lit and one of the best places to see shows. Their VIP deal is very affordable and worth every penny. You're gonna spend the money on booze anyway, why not get prime seating and view of everything too?? The most solid venue in Pittsburgh imo, and I've either played or attended shows at all of em lol

Parking is kind of rough. Venue size is good, but the layout didn't make sense. They put the merch tables along the entrance/exit and then complained about the bottleneck. Took forever to leave. Prices for the beverages were okay.

My husband and I recently got married here, and I would recommend it 100% to any bride and groom looking for a reception venue that your guests will never forget! The staff (specifically Sarah Troy and Shaunden Smith) were amazing to work with, and made our wedding day absolutely stress-free. I couldn't have imagined my wedding in another venue.

Mr. Small's is a pretty nice little venue hidden away in the middle of Millville that has some of the most amazing shows in Pittsburgh. you won't find huge Headliners here but definitely some of the better bands from the less popular genres. see location and the sound is beautiful and the rebuilding of the old church is magnificent.

This is repurposed church turned into a night club. It has balcony seating and multiple bars serving a large selection of craft beers. The venue has excellent acoustics and is a great location to catch a concert

Mr. Smalls has always been great for any show I've been to. Staff and bars are awesome. Nice outside smoke area. And the balcony is super nice when your just trying to chill and watch a performance. When I find out a show I like is gonna be there I'm generally happier than any other venue. And the style and interior is awesome. It being an old church and all.

Went to see Raekwon this week and was not disappointed. Great sound system, friendly staff and an overall good experience. I went with the balcony service which I think is definitely worth it since the additional cost goes towards a tab for decent food & drinks plus a guaranteed seat.

Review for the funhouse.

Review for the funhouse.

Don't go here if you don't like smoke. It's no smoking, but for whatever stupid reason they vent the kitchen smoke into the funhouse stage.

Also terrible for music, the acoustics just blow. The metal ceiling reflects every shouty voice in the bar and make bit hard to hear the music.

Aside from that it's an ok place.

My favorite concert venue in Pittsburgh!! I've been seeing shows here since I moved to the Burgh in 2006 and it's been awesome to see how much they have improved and renovated! It's quirky and nifty and there's all sorts of areas to discover. Multiple bars, restaurant, nice upstairs smoke patio, great standing room, perfect stage height, amazing acoustics, good quality sound, fun atmosphere. Also enjoy the fact that you don't get patted down, security is a little laid back (you don't feel like you're constantly being watched), they don't mind crowd surfing or sitting on shoulders. Only downside is I don't think they allow flow toys (hoops, poi, staff, etc), I've never seen any in there and there usually isn't enough space. And it can get pretty stuffy when it's packed and everyone's going hard! Other than that, it's perfect!
