Nice location although the dining area was quite bright then others moxies locations I ve been to. The the access to the bathroom was also quite strange as you needed to climb a very narrow odd staircase to get there.
Awful service!! Ordered white chocolate brownies deserts with extra scoops of ice cream. The plates the server brought were disappointing and demonstrated a total lack of care. Bringing this up to
the server's attention only made things worse. Instead of getting the plates fixed, she basically made us understand we had to deal with it. Adding this incident to the flies found in my husband's glass of water, we will definitely never go back to this location.

I went there after they completed their renovations. It was terrible. I ordered a Caesar and it was the worst Caesar that I have ever had and I have been around for a very long time. The ambience, if there ever was any, has been completely removed with the renovations. I will not be returning.
bad frozen food spiced and battered. 16 bucks for a chicken sandwich with salad. crispy chicken was so mushy I thought it was raw at first, salad had no dressing but was fresh. what kind of restaurant does not have filtered water at the bar? oh right calgary restaurants. 90 % of homes have but too cheap to put in restaurant but you want to charge premium prices. good thing I checked before ordering a premium hiball with tap water ice, as it saved me having to make them remove the charge on the bill.
Beer taps are frozen, beer bottles were running out as well. You can always get an emergency refill from your supply if you are almost waiting for your shipment to come in 3 or 4 days down the road. Very subpar experience. Also, order a steak sandwich and it was tough. Cut was against the grain which made it very chewy.
Stopped in for dessert and definitely was impressed by the vibe of this place. I hadn't been to this location in years and I swear it's been renovated as of recent. The staff was fast and friendly and the desserts were prepared with care.
Went om New Years eve. Paid 29 for two steak dinners. Cost 100dollars including tip. Had total if 3 drinks. Steak was average/ severed beets and apraggus for veg. Very hard,way underdone. Service was not up to par. Would not go back
Bad service, seated us then fifteen minutes still nothing. Hostess walked by three times and never said a word. We got up to leave and hostesses just look up from her phone and right back down to her phone.
Excellent food and service. Stayed at Sandman hotel attached to this location. Dined in on June 30 at 9pm.
Great atmosphere, friendly helpful staff, and a great selection of gluten sensitive options as well as vegetarian/vegan options.
Patio is great in summer and location is good, however service is super slow.

Went over with my girlfriend on her birthday for the first time at this one and the hostess ignored us. We had to walk over to ask if we could sit. Rude service all around so we decided to leave. Horrible place to go. They didn't want us there at all. Odd
It's a good place but I find bar staff to be stand offish and cold. Maybe it's just me. They have a decent selection of beer and the food is good, pricey but good.
**update** emailed the GM days ago as per requested and even called and no one would talk or respond to me .. shameful .
Always come here with my husband as we live close ... never had issues until last week. We came for a nice birthday dinner , first off we waited 15 minutes for our server to bring our drinks . Should have been a red flag already right ? Then we waited a very long time for her to come back and take our order . Once our food came out , not only did it take 45 minutes for it to reach our table in the restaurant that had 5 tables , it was cold and made incorrectly . Once we pointed it out the server just took the plates away not even apologizing for bringing it out wrong . Once it came out again 15 minutes later , it was made right but still cold . We ate it anyways and when it came time to order dessert , our server was nowhere to be found . Ended up getting our bill from the bartender , and she said she would send our server over with the machine ... never happened so we paid cash and left . Stay away from here !!! I don t know what s happened but so disappointing

Terrible service. Terrible food. I emailed the GM directly a month ago and didn't hear a word back. Now I'm posting the review. He or she doesn't seem to care about a customer having a poor experience.
I went with two others for a going away dinner and we were seated quickly. Our first server was very pleasant and took our drink and food orders in a timely manner. She did spill a tiny bit of the wine on the table when she poured it. Not a big deal to us.
The food came quite quickly and was brought by a different server. My girlfriend had ordered the ribs with a side of French fries but it was served with potatoes. I mentioned this to the server and she apologized but took the entire plate with her back to the kitchen. I asked for ground pepper for my pasta and she said she would be right back with that as well. Honestly, leaving the ribs and getting a separate order of fries would have made more sense. The other two of us did not start our meals as we were waiting for the ribs to come back.
She returned with the ribs and French fries but had not brought the pepper. I asked again for it, she apologized and said she would be right back. That was the last time we saw any server at our table. My girlfriend s sister found a hair in her curry dish as well as a lip print on her wine glass. It looked like the glass had been run through the washer but was not polished.
Once we were finished our meals, we were still going to order desert but no one returned to check on us. An elderly couple was waiting at the table next to us for a very long time just to have their order taken. They kept trying to get the attention employees at the bar to come by but no one responded.
We waited twenty minutes after we had finished our meals until I got fed up and just went to the bar to pay. I considered just leaving. We all felt disregarded. I asked what happened to our server and the staff member finding my bill said that our original server was running room service. I did not leave a tip. That was the first time in my life not leaving a tip.
I have have been to this location numerous times and there is always a negative issue. I will not be back.
I called in an order for pick up and somewhere down the line the message was not passed along to the kitchen. When I came to pick it up it was not ready or started however the manager on duty at the time jumped in and handled the situation extremely well. Mistakes do happen but how a company handles a mistake says a lot about them. I m very impressed with how they owned the mistake and went above and beyond to make everything right. Wonderful job and very grateful for how it was handled.
Worst experience in a restaurant ever. Staff could not care less about their patrons. A member of our group was cut from one of their glasses shattering and they still had us pay for the drink. Manager bandaged him and then immediately went back to the girls he was talking with at the bar.

No one there to welcome us but there was several staff working. Service was slow. No one around when customers were there. Waitress couldn t remember our order. The tacos were not cooked well. Our waitress asked about it and I told her but she did nothing. Forgot the gravy but charged us for it. This is the second time we have been to this Moxies and both times it was terrible.
Service is slow, waiter did not fill our glasses and displayed poor attitude, one guest in our group never got their order, wait is long. Food is average. Save yourself the trouble and skip this restaurant.
We were there last month during the Calgary Expo - headed in for a late night meal. Upstairs they were hosting the after party, but we were craving a good meal. We headed to the main floor where they seated us and took our order pretty quickly, but as it turns out, the system crashed so all orders that night will be delayed. Honestly, no biggie. We were tired from the day and ready to just relax with good company.
The part that earned the 1 star? They never checked on us or even refilled our water. We had to embarrassingly ask for any updates, where we were addressed as if we were the bane of their existence. We sat there for nearly three hours... THREE HOURS.
It was already passed midnight and we decided to leave. As it turns out, the people at the end of the bar were being fed shots all night long, but we couldn't get a glass of water?
Shameful really.
The staff was super attentive to allergies and service was great. Made for a great anniversary dinner!
Edit: we went back for a revisit after speaking to the management regarding our last experience, and this time everything went perfectly. Savannah provided the most amazing service, and our food was delicious. And of course, the brownie this time was perfection, just the way I remembered it used to be. The service and food exceeded our expectations, and it only shows how the whole team is dedicated in ensuring guest satisfaction and rectifying any situations. Great job to the entire team, and we can t wait to be back!
I am only reviewing the location, service, and the warm chocolate brownie of this Moxie s. It s newly renovated and conveniently located by the C-train with very limited street parking nearby. Excellent and attentive service, most likely due to the fact that it was early Sunday evening and only two other tables were there!
I always order the warm chocolate brownie from Moxie s but the recipe has definitely changed. It used to be better. Most likely won t come back again to Moxie s for the brownie as it has fallen short of expectations. However if you don t have anything to compare it to, I still highly recommend it as it s the best thing on the menu!
I went out with a girlfriend on Friday evening. All the staff were really kind and inviting. Our waitress, Waunita, was so kind and went over and above to wait on us. She was attentive and kind. This is pur new Friday hangout spot! Cheap drinks too
Great service and great food... Had an issue with one of the steaks been under cooked and the staff took care of it no problem! Would certainly go back!

Came in here with my girlfriend on a busy Friday night. The service was exceptional and the food was stunning. I would return again and again.
Good, not great. I don't know why people go here when there is hundreds of better options in the city. Went out of convenience because my department was doing a course on the West side of town. Half the food came out, then it was another 10-15 minutes before the other half came out. Very overpriced for some pretty generic tasting food. Beer is $8 including tax and the offerings are pretty weak... c'mon guys we have tons of craft breweries in town and y'all are selling big rock and stella. Did in a pinch and nothing stood out as awful, won't be rushing back here soon or recommending it to anyone.

Servers where really nice but kinda slow, the food tasted good but it really left something to be desired with its utter simplicity. The venue itself was really nice and clean. It wasnt bad but it wasnt great. All in all i would probably choose a different place around there next time.

On my 24th birthday I had gone to this moxies with my family and had a horrible experience. However one person from senior management found out, personally called me to apologize and mend the situation. After the fact they invited my family and I back to the restaurant, and by then I had one of, if not the best experience of a Canadian restaurant of my life. They made sure everything was at 110% but my review of 5 stars is not about just the food or service I received that night, but to have someone with a very important job in a very busy company, take their time to hear a complaint, take constructive critiscism and show care and compassion to a customer. Moxies made me feel very important to them! So I really recommend you check it out and give them a try! It will be worth your time. P.S. get the white chocolate brownie for desert!
Miso ramen was a 6/10....beer had great selection and 20oz glasses. Service was excellent

Ordered a corona and it was brought to me without the lime. Waitress came back with a piece of lime in a glass but the piece was too big to fit the bottle. Ordered fish tacos and requested NO avocado. The waitress asked if it was preference or allergies (never been asked that before). When my order came there was avocado in it so had to pick it out. My friend ordered a steak salad and asked for blue cheese instead of goat cheese. Waitress came back after a while and said they didn't have blue cheese but had something similar. She came back again later to say that particular cheese was out too. Not very impressed with service whatsoever.

Not really a 4, but also not a 3. More if a 3.5 than anything else.
Decent food as expected, nothing out of the ordinary. New menu offers dishes tailored to higher end crowd similar to their competitors, but quality and offerings are still not at that level, although the price is is up there. Items on the new menu is quite expensive.
Newly renovated at this location, much brighter and modernized, makes for a great atmosphere. Music is really loud making it tough to converse with your dinning partners.
Have been numerous times and pretty much have an issue every time. Went with a $50 gift card, that they had given us for finding not one but two big hairs in our food, sat there for almost 15 minutes without even being acknowledged. I'd suggest going to Earl's instead, it's on 8th Ave SW. Short walk away.
Always solid food with decent service. Been going here fairly regularly for lunch and even when I ordered something that wasn't great they fixed it, no fuss. The salmon Cobb salad the salmon is rare and the server didn't mention that it's very rare. I expected more line tataki style but nope.
Came in to get some breakfast. Couldn't find a table right away because most tables were empty but dirty. They had lots if dirty dishes on and some if them were with dry food(which means those dishes were sitting there for quite a while). After we found a table waitress didn't come to us for like 10 min. So we were sitting without menu. We ordered 2 glasses of water right away but didn't get it for the next 15 min. Food was cooking too long even tho place wasn't too busy!!! After a very long wait we finally got out food. I ordered a fruit plate and bagel with cream cheese. Cream cheese was frozen so it took me a while to spread on my bagel. They also forgot my fruit plate. All what i can say... it's the worst service I had in Calgary. Never going back there!!!

I have allergies and when I notified the waitress (Mesgana, who smiled and was very friendly), the manager himself (Joe) came and spoke with me to assure me that no traces of peanuts or other nuts would be in my food. Also he brought the food to my table himself to make very sure that nothing touched it. He was good-natured about it too. I was very impressed because this is the first time a manager personally took the time and responsibility to be aware of my allergy. The food was delicious as well, but above all, I give this Moxie's 5 stars for their great customer service.

The service is generally consistently good and the food always comes out correct.
The lettuce wraps with chicken are a great ice breaker appetizer with friends. Building your food gives you a talking piece and something creative to do together.
The steak salad is always a great standby meal for lunch too. It is just the right size and always seems to have just the right amount of dressing. I recommend to have the steak cooked rare. It compliments the salad well.
Located kitty corner to Mac's and across from a CTRAIN station is likely better to take the train to get there.
