Midland afternoon tea and rolls Royce tour. Afternoon tea was at 14.30 and was very nice. Tour wasn't till 16.00 and started promptly. Very informative and friendly. The hotel is steeped in history, spotless and well maintained. Wish I could afford to stay the night.

My flight was cancelled and therefore I couldn t make my room. When I asked the hotel for a refund, they denied me every penny even though the flight cancellation was beyond my control. Absolutely horrible and greedy staff on the phone, they wouldn t even give me a part refund. Stay away from this place!!!

Attended a white collar boxing event. The venue was just how I've always imagined it, what a great place. The staff made me feel very special, very attentive, polite and all had smiles. I would strongly recommend The Midland.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Manchester. Beautiful building. Lovely venue for a graduation. Poorly arranged by the University overcrowded, too many faculties graduating considering they receive 9K a year now from students you would think they would stagger the graduations more. Hotel itself helpful staff, very clean despite the massive overcrowding and I would like to go back there when there's no events on for the weekend. I would probably recommend this hotel just based on what saw even though I wasn't a guest staying there, otherwise I wouldn't go back for a weekend break.

Visited for afternoon tea for my partner's birthday, very disappointing food and both poorly afterwards. We contacted the hotel but it was as if they didn't believe us, slow reply to complaint email and not interested in fixing this. An experienced to remember for the wrong reasons.

Very nice, historic hotel. Very unique hotel. Each and every room is different. Provide excellent broadband connectivity. Staffs are friendly. Location is very good. About 5 mins walk to Chinatown and approximately 15 mins walk to the main shopping street. Nice breakfast provided to certain hotel customers. Many pubs and eateries / groceries outlet within 5 to 10 minutes walk.

Wonderful hotel, staff are just brilliant, rooms are so comfortable, but, there is one drawback, don't get a 'centre's room where it over looks reception, the aircons are on all night every 15 mins very irritating, you also have to book the swimming pool I advance.

Beautiful spacious rooms, quality service... My two concerns were parking wasn't as easy and there isn't much of a view from the window. Then design of the hotel meant there was a ridge eye level high across our window... But can't fault the quality of the hotel. Things were marked and sealed when sanitized.

Great venue, good staff and service. Attended for a ball with university societies and had a great time. Greeted at the doors with a champagne reception by smartly dressed staff and politely showed where to go for our function. Tables all set very well. Location excellent with easy access from city centre. Food portions however very small, seemed a little stingy, though all tasted great. Price of alcohol also rather steep, basically London prices. I appreciate this is a rather classy venue, but it's also in the Northwest where drinks are typically cheap. Overall a great night and would recommend.

A dependable choice, (We ve been coming here for years to visit family nearby)
Have always decided to stay here due to the spa facilities, which were always complementary to guests.

Unsure if we ll come back, might try out the local competition.

The room is the junior suite and this room is very clean and well decorated to suit the character of the hotel. The Midland staff are of a high standard and can't do enough to make your stay as stress free as possible. As for the other guests, there's no cure for being a rich complain bag. The food again is of a high standard, the price is reflected in this. The spa has been a wonderful bonus and the spa team are very experienced and thoughtful. One of the best hotels I have stayed at because of how well the staff are.

I attended an awards dinner last night and had a ball. We arrived in a taxi and the doorman greeted us and assisted my colleagues out of the car. The grand foyer was rather impressive, marble everywhere. We were served an elegant three course meal, I was especially taken with the cheese tarts. The selection of wine was also delicious. Overall I was happy with the service and the entire establishment. I definitely want to go back and sample their high tea!

Room at hotel was well equipped, very comfortable bed and was mostly quiet. No car parking facilities on site but NCP car park and railway station just across the road. Food very good. Staff polite and helpful.

Great afternoon tea where we were well looked after. I normally feel a little hungry after such occasions but this felt just right. We took the recommendation of trying the Midland own blend teas - the Victoria sponge tasting one complemented my titbits well! Located in a lovely room with an air of decadence. We arrived early and had a pre-drink in the bar; again the surroundings make it feel a little special. Vegetarian and vegan options available, and they offer flexibility in dietary requirements or something you just don't like (but best to give them notice). A lovely memory !

Wonderful location and great rooms for hosting events. I attended a work function and the decor made a lovely change from the ultra modern places we usually book. Sadly though the bathrooms were awful. 2 out of 5 stalls didn't have lockable toilet doors and the third one I tried was difficult to lock and unlock. It really let it down.

The staff were very courteous, the whole hotel was clean and very well decorated, and it's very central in Manchester city centre with lots of transport links, bars and restaurants within a short walking distance.

Located near the congress center and a 15-minute walk from any attraction in the city.
Recommended for businesses and excursions.

Quite the experience with my partner. We had a lovely time in the spa area and then went for a Swedish full body massage which was very relaxing and enjoyable. However, extremely dissatisfied with the service that was offered as me and my partner were taken into separate rooms for our treatment, although we had booked together. Also we overheard that other couples were being offered their treatments in a joint room.
