Love this place. Not too expensive, with large selection of native plants. Wish they would expand their potting soil options a bit (maybe carrying a few more 'basic' types that aren't so $$)

Nice plants. A bit expensive. Bought some tomatoes.
I brought in my plant that was not doing so well and the friendly and helpful staff were able to get me the knowledge I needed so that now my plant is doing much better! Great place if you are looking for unique and interesting plants.
I love plants and flowers. When you visit Mother Earth Gardens the owners and people helping have a genuine care and understanding what you're looking for. They took the time with me and answered and guided all my plant and garden needs. What a gem of a place.
Great selection of indoor and outdoor plants. Much better than some of the bigger name suppliers.
Affordable prices.
Good selection of pots.
Outstanding knowledge and gorgeous items. All seasons.
I called to try find a particular plant. The woman on the phone spent some time tracking it down and confirming they had it in stock, 1 of only 2 nurseries where I could find it at. They were in great condition and everyone was very cheerful and friendly. Once again another unique plant added to my garden from Morther Earth!
A great selection of plants and a quaint atmosphere.
Reliable quality plants & merchandise. A bit more spendy than some garden places but the quality, service & attention to detail make the small extra expense worth while. There is always something fun and unique to be found in addition to whatever product you were there seeking in the 1st place. This is a small business that is most definitely a win/win to support.
Love this place! Incredible selection at great prices. Very knowledgeable staff. The only place to go for veggie starts in the Cities!
Great place to go for your Urban gardening needs. Shop local. Park around the corner, because you have to. Get over it.
Mother Earth Gardens has on-street parking and no elevator but it's a good place to shop for some gardening necessities and soon if I'm not mistaken will be selling Christmas trees
Very friendly and helpful staff and great variety of native plants.
Nice urban garden store. Friendly knowledgeable staff.
Great staff, very knowledgeable and helpful. Wide variety of plants, seasonal gifts. Pottery.
Very helpful staff and exceptionally healthy plants. Pretty good selection too especially considering their size. A tad pricey but completely worth it. This place is a gem!
I really love this place. Fantastic variety of plants!
The staff were SO helpful to this plant novice! Found a couple cute plants and pots for my office and they even re-potted one for me!
Always a great experience at Mother Earth. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, and great selection! Love having them in the neighborhood!
I have been a devotee of Mother Earth Gardens until this spring. I bought three trees from Mother Earth last spring and faithfully watered and cared for them throughout the fall. This spring two have not survived the winter. Surprisingly, Mother Earth does not have any guarantee nor have they offered a discounted rate for other trees. Personnel at the Gardens suggested I had not watered them properly even though I watered them religiously. Indeed, three other trees I planted are thriving as are three dozen bushes planted at the same time. Lesson learned - I will only be buying at a gardening business that guarantees their products. I'm saddened that I can't support this community business any longer.
Best buy ever for tomatoes. I bought a variety 6 pack of tomatoes and have been thrilled with my results, good soil and gardening aside, it was the variety that floored me, A suberb long bearing cherry, a early and wonderful yellow, solid roma, And early and a big and to beat everything a tomato ripening in October! What a bountiful and happy summer, with many gifts of tomatoes shared far and wide. I sure hope the same variety pack will be back next year.
This is the only place I'll buy my garden from! I trust them to be GMO- free and that's very important to me. Friendly, knowledgable staff - simply my favorite!
Awesome staff who will help you pick the right plant to suit you and your space.
Huge variety of vegetables and herbs. Great looking perennial and annual plants. Very helpful and pleasant staff.
I feel confident that the organic materials (seeds, plants, straw, beneficial bacteria) I get here are chosen with care and thought to the sustainability of the environment.
So great to have a locally owned garden store in the neighborhood. They are very helpful and knowledgeable.
Great plant selection, both for the garden outside and houseplants inside. One of the widest varieties of native Minnesota prairie plants I have found.
The help was fantastic, bought a great fiddle leaf tree!
Such a great gardening spot to find things for myself and great for gifts too!
Huge variety and so knowledgeable! I was really pleased that they had a good variety of both the classic and trendy plants.
Terrific small garden center. Both interesting and ordinary plants. Garden supplies and cool gifts often locally made. Plants are for the most part chemical free and sustainably grown.
Mother Earth Gardens adds a lot of character to its neighborhood. In spring, it has a great selection of gardening plants, including a great many that are native. Price-wise, it is competitive even with Big Box stores, and its staff members know what they are selling and seem happy to help you make choices. I wouldn't hire its garden consultation service (what you're getting and what you're paying for are just a little too indistinct), but I would absolutely recommend it for all other gardening needs.
Earth garden has a variety of all your garden needs
It's a nice place but has no parking lot so double the time you budget for a trip here to find street parking, and don't buy more than you can carry.
What a great neighborhood gem. They have a wonderful selection of interesting perennials and annuals. Seeds, gifts, fertilizers, pots, etc. I always find something I want to buy for my garden. Also, their Christmas trees are very fresh and last a long time. Plus, I can bring my dog in when I'm out for a walk and just want to browse.
Intimate local gardening shop. Many ideas shared freely.
Maybe I like this place so much because I have bought my Christmas tree here, for the last few years - convenient location, helpful service, and beautiful trees of all sizes!
This is such a neat space! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and very talented! Their plants are very healthy and generally are a good value. They recently opened another location in north of downtown. Great place!
Especially with a lot of garden centers having limited stock right now, Mother Earth Gardens had variety, MN native plants, and helpful staff! If you want to support a local business, pick these guys!!
Always get the help I need. Great selection, great service, keeping it local!
A lovely plant store with everything you need! Annuals, perennials, gardening tools, gifts.
Nice selection of bee friendly plants! Helpful and friendly staff!
A charming little garden store with lots of interesting and some unusual plants, plus tools and cool gardening accessories. It's a small place. The prices reflect that, in comparison to big box stores that buy in sufficient quantities to be able to offer better prices. On-street parking.
One of my favorite stores in Mpls. Lovely and constantly rotating unique, fairtrade and handmade gifts.
coming here for the first time was lovely! staff was super friendly and helpful without being overbearing (I like to space out and wander) overhearing a conversation with another customer, her beginners questions about plants were answered with patience and respect. Really cute selection, I brought home a classy ceramic planter for a lot less then I thought it would be!
P.S- the shop cat, peaches, is so stinkin cute
Very insightful staff we're able to help me get the potting soil that I was looking for. With having knowledge of where the ingredients were coming from that is in the potting soil which is what matters to me most. Mother Earth gardens staff care about gardening and we'll be able to help you figure out everything that you need for your garden urban farm.
Great little garden center- so happy to have Mother Earth Gardens in the neighborhood! I'm a bit of a houseplant collector, and although their selection is pretty small, it's well-curated and healthy. I often stop in for small gifts - they have a lovely selection pots as well as things like wind chimes. The staff are always friendly and helpful.
This place is amazing!! Such great personal customer service. The woman who helped me knew a lot about perennials and was able to identify those that had the charactetistics I wanted with full respect for my tight budget. I will be back!! A delightful shopping experience for sure!
Beautiful plants, cute gifts and decor inside the store. The staff was very helpful when I asked for advice about my sick hibiscus (that I didn't even get there!). They even said that if I needed further help or had questions that I could email them a picture of the plant in question. I was very impressed with the service and have always loved shopping here.
Side note: reasonable prices! Large, healthy herbs for 3$ and native MN plants.
What a nice nursery/garden center. We found some great plants and a locally made flower pot. It was a win all around.
Love this cute neighborhood garden center. They always welcome my dog, which makes it an easy place to just drop in when I m out and about.
Love this place, lots of cute stuff, local wildflowers and the like
Best little garden shop. Hands down. Excellent service. The lines can get long but well worth the wait. The plants are healthy and of exceptional quality
One of the most inspiring community businesses I know of.
Great selection, helpful staff. Prices are a bit high, but you're paying for quality.
Small and fully stocked, had hollyhock plants which I was looking for, and I was amazed at all the varieties of both annual and perennial plants and also containers. Only downside is off street parking and no handicap parking.
Great place to fill your garden, add to your house plant collection or get a gift for a nature loving friend!
Knowledgeable staff. Great selection of houseplants, native plants, veggies, fruits, annuals, perennials, garden decor and more. One of my go to spots for gifts. I travel from St Paul to get my tree here. More than what they sell is how the place makes me feel that this is how the world should be, could be: verdant, vibrant with life, and kindness for all our neighbors whether human, plant, planet, or animal.
We continue to return, thank you for being our nearby go-to choice for outdoor products.
Although a lovely selection of plants, flowers, and herbs. We love getting our Christmas tree here in the winter too. Customer service though is dismal, and passive aggressive. Not sure they are aware there are other nurseries with just the same quality but include better service.
I left work early to get here a full hour before closing time yesterday but they were putting tarps on the stuff I wanted to look at so I didn t bother anyone and went to Home Depot instead. I get it s the off-season but that s my only availability so this store just isn t an option for me and I really wasted my time. I don t know how to rate that experience appropriately but I do want others to possibly see my issue and avoid a similar situation if they want.
Anytime of the year is a great time of the year to go to Mother Earth Gardens they're always ready for whatever that time of the year is for you so much help so much kindness throughout the whole place always a smile and a helpful hand and the knowledge Center of this place is great too.
Very helpful employees. Unfortunately, we started out late on getting our planting done this year.
Smaller than what I had expected but had a nice variety of plants! I went during winter, so maybe it's different in warmer seasons.
This is a wonderful garden center with very knowledgeable staff and a great selection.
I love the choice & their knowledge - I just wish they weren't so popular as the queues can be long.
Very knowledgeable staff and they are always extremely welcoming and helpful.
MEG is the best place for local garden, indoor, and advice. All staff are knowledgeable about indoor/outdoor planting and how to's on plants in general. Whenever I need help and cannot seem to find or understand it from the internet MEG saves the day. They are my GO-TO. Sometimes I like to just walk around and be amongst the plants and cute items, Thank You for your hard work and dedication - You are my Sunshine on a cloudy day :)
Such a great neighborhood garden center! They're so helpful and have nearly everything there!
I went in here on Saturday for the first time. Have passed this little corner a million times but never thought about stopping, until now.
It is a bit early in the planting season but they had some great perenials and annuals. I'm no expert in outdoor plants but I can say everything offered was in great shape. Strong and full of color. Staff was helpful and readily available.
Prices were surprisingly reasonable. I don't mind paying more to shop in my own neighborhood, seeing comparable prices to big box was nice.
I picked up a variety of small plantings for 20 bucks. This filled my smaller garden bed and a few places around my existing shrubs. I'll be back in a few weeks to look over some new bushes for the front window area of our house.
I love this shop. I've been there 7 or 8 times. They always have an interesting selection and their staff is friendly and knowledgable. Their plants are healthy and well cared for.
The place I go for shade annuals and ferry garden trinkets. My grand kids love garden shopping here
Great selection of plants which yield large volumes of fruits/vegetables.
While I like the products they offer - customer service leaves a lot to be desired. The first time I called, no one answered and the message basically said that they were busy, please call back at another time. (Really??? I was ready to buy now!) I tried one more time and the person answering the phone clearly didn't want to help with my questions. In the end, she said "I really don't know, I'm just an employee here." (Shouldn't you know - it's your job!) There are other native plant nurserys that I am sure will want to answer my questions and have my business.
I know I'm in the minority here but I think the quality of service/customer service has drastically gone down hill. Thirteen years ago when I moved into the Longfellow area it was a great store with people who cared. I counted myself lucky to have such a great local business with fun, knowledgeable people with unique inventory. Unfortunately in the last five/six years I've found the customer service to be hit or miss and most often lacking. Employee's are either to busy to or just don't care about their customers. Miscommunications among employees and lack of integrity on what they promise is what I find at Mother Earth, so I'll go to a hardware store on Lake St. that has a decent garden center, it's not as cute or unique but at least I feel welcomed and can count on what they say.
