This is another place I have tried because of the PayPal app coupon. I would definitely come back here otherwise though. I love the atmosphere of the patio, both in the summer and winter, and even during rainstorms! The fireplace is amazing.

I think my favorite part, besides the food overall just being so good, is that they bring popcorn instead of tortilla chips or bread. It's just so exciting to have something different than normal! And the chicken and waffles is fantastic. The chicken itself is actually kind of so-so but the waffle is so good it makes up for it.

Loved this place. Unusual layout with charm and sophistication. The food is comfort food with a well done modern flare. It is outstanding. I would highly recommend. Give it a try. You wont be disappointed.

Ps. Try the shrimp corn dog appetizer...it will surprise you.

Chicken and waffles were delicious. Crust was flavorful and chicken was moist and tender. Waffles were fluffy and buttery. Great Banana pudding. Also tried the Shrimp and grits which was very tasty. Nice scene and friendly staff. Welcome to Austin.

Came here for a lunch in and it was amazing. Love the food and omg the shrimp corndogs are the bombdotcom. Brownies were delish. Tried salad, shrimp dogs, chile mac n chz, mousse, brownies, fruit bowl, turkey croissant sandwich. Omg the chkn fried steak, they looked like chkn strips. That was my fav and the mash potatoes are to die for. I really enjoyed this lunch buffet. Also at the tables they had popcorn. Super cute. Definitely reccommend.

I've been to Moonshine three times and I love it more and more every time. The popcorn they bring at the start of the meal sets everything off on the right path. Their cornflake chicken salad is to DIE for. They also have fried shrimp and asparagus as appetizers, which come with a sauce that consists of honey mustard and blueberry sauce - sounds really strange, but it's a great mix. My friends have had some of their alcoholic drinks and they've told me they're quite strong and quite delicious. :) Sometimes the wait to get in can be 2 hours+ but that just tells you how good it is! Go at an off time and you'll really enjoy! Bread pudding, jalapeno hanger steak, and the sandwiches are all delicious!

A great lunch & dinner place even though the Sunday brunch is their claim to fame. Try the corn dog shrimp appetizer and the catfish entree for fresh flavors artfully combined from locally grown ingredients.

Mixed reviews on the $18.00 Sunday buffet. Place is crowded, nice hostess, after initial drink order at 12 seat patio bar, where I struggled with a solid steel bar stool weighing 50 lbs, neither of two bartenders made eye contact or smiled, buffet was nothing to write home about. Almost every dish was infused with some variety of chili s. I know we are in Texas but how about some spice diversity? Ham was good as were deviled eggs, sweet potatoes undercooked, most of the rest was some form of cheesy goo infused with peppers. My bill with two rail drinks was $33.00. Would not return.

Amazing place. Valet parking is a breeze and cheap as compare to other parking. Food is amazing and their collection of drinks are amazing. Try their Blind Mule and Chicken Almondine...staff is super friendly and clean establishment. It is always packed so plan accordingly

Not a good place to have dinner. We waited 45 minutes just to get an unattentive service. Imagine, I had to stand up to refill my drink myself. Food took a long while to get cooked. The waffle was nice and fluffy, but the chicken was overcooked and dry. The pulled pork was also on the dry side and left a lot to be desired. Maybe this is a great place to get drunk. Not so much to have QT.

This was my first visit and I will definitely go back! The food was excellent and the service was great! I never would have thought to put pimento cheese spread on a burger, but it was so good.

Chicken fried steak was delicious and they have a good selection of hard liquor. The shrimp and grits was also very good and had lots of flavor. I especially liked how they had a variety of whiskeys. The place has a cozy rustic feel and aims to seem like how a bar/restaurant was back in the "wild west" era.

Generally I like Moonshine though the wait time is invariably crazy (they do not take reservations) and there are other great places to dine nearby. The jug of red wine is a good deal. The angel-pasta dish that I sampled was all right as are the chicken and waffles, the shrimp-on-a-stick are great and the ambiance is there.

This is a great location as the atmosphere is energetic and the food is excellent. The food portions are pretty good size, so I would definitely recommend it. Great place to be on a Friday evening, especially when staying at a hotel downtown.

YUM CHICKEN AND WAFFLES. So tasty and delicious! Make a reservation here because the wait is insane on weekend nights.

We also ordered the grits which were incredibly different than any I've had before, they were good but just not my personal style. I'm used to grits with a creamy base, and these were served in what resembled a Manhattan clam chowder-type broth/soup/base. I'm not a big tomato person so this was probably just personal preference.

Did I mention the free popcorn?

Had a great brunch. We we're there before it opened and we're the third group seated. There was 5 in our party. My wife was in a walking cast and o. Just had Knee replacement 2 months ago so I had a cane. The hostess instead of sitting us on the entry floor she took us outside and down the stairs and into an old room that had ,3 tables. Pretty neat and we were told it was built before the civil war. At the other table there was a large group of elderly people that 3 we're walking with canes. All the food was upstairs and the buffet downstairs never opened and we were there for 1.5 hours. So all of us had to go up the stairs and back to get to the overcrowded buffet that was open . I think the Hostess should have seen the cast and the canes and place people on the entry level so they didn't have to go up and down the stairs which is not easy on some folks. Other than that the food was good but the other buffet should have been open to releive overcrowding.

Very disappointing, the food was cold, options were disappointing, salads looked like the best choice. This is great if you are willing to pay $20.00 for a salad. The quality of the food does not live to the prices we paid. And the most absurd thing that I heard was that "bacon" was extra, that's right I said bacon. It seems Moonshine grill has given in to quantity instead of quality. You can get a lot of disappointing food for the buck. I 've eaten there for lunch and enjoyed it tremendously. Sorry Moonshine, you make lots of money, but your reputation will end up tarnished with offering the food that I had today.

Great food. Our server "Mia" was very helpful and attentive. Three of us had dinner and we all eat very different foods. They had something delicious for each of us. Would highly recommend this place.

Amazing restaurant close to everything happening in Austin as well a centrally located for the SXSW festival. Be sure to get in line early as it fills up fast during large events. A little loud in the evening, so don t expect a quiet dinner, just really good food. The chicken and waffles are fantastic!

Street parking was a little tricky but they helped us valet very easily. CODY was an amazing server. Very attentive and relaxed. Would love to come back in an uber so I can explore the whiskey list.

We had brunch here, and it was amazing! We managed to get a seat at the bar and avoid the over one hour wait, but it would have been well worth the wait! Everything we ate was wonderful. The Bloody Mary is a must! We will be back when we are here again.

Good place for Sunday Brunch, very popular. However being popular is not always that good. It can crowded at times. But when I was there I still enjoyed myself. I would go again, I may try get there early next time. The restaurant is somewhat small and cozy. It is really nice little restaurant.

You will wait for an hour to be seated, but it's totally worth it! Consider enjoying a drink at the bar and place to sit outside by the fire downstairs. The shrimp and grits is delicious. Awesome comfort food!

The manager came out and showed me all the gluten free options on the buffet. That was so nice. The patio was beautiful. We were there right before Christmas so they had a beautiful real Christmas tree on the patio that smelled wonderful. The drinks are amazing too. We will come back.

A popular place with a long wait, but a cozy, trendy atmosphere. I'm not a huge fan of the popcorn as an appetizer instead of bread or rolls, but the rest of the food was really good. Service was good.

Seemed like a nice place and the hostess politely told us we had a wait but we could be seated in their full service waiting area. The waiter in this area was just bizarre. A man of few words and obviously showing us he'd rather be ANYWHERE else than helping us at our table. Only started being nice after we decided we would finish our drinks and leave instead of waiting for a table. Pretty pricy, which isnt a bad thing, unless the unwelcoming service has you leaving feeling ripped off.

We are so happy we found this place for lunch. The atmosphere is laid back and alternative. The food was absolutely delicious with unique flavors. Each staff member was welcoming and had a genuine smile! Our waitress Taylor was amazing and extremely helpful with recommendations for the menu.
