This place lives up to its reviews! Very good food and great service (I believe our server's name was Katie). They were able to accommodate a large party well during a busy dinner rush - about 14 of us. Every plate was tasty and unique. Highly recommend!

Shrimp corndogs are a must try. Backyard chicken sandwhich was great, guacamole and house made mayo combined with pablanoes made the sandwhich. Rosemary fries had a very faint rosemary flavor, I would have preferred a stronger flavor, but that's my taste.

Brunch is great. Dinner is great. The service is usually great except for one time when a skinny, tall male server with a beard and longer hair was really sarcastic and rude, but overall a great place to eat!

The place is very romantic and the food is fantastic. There is no word could describe the good service eithe!
We tried their steak and backed macros, which were really good! I think you need to give it a try to add more flavor to your life

I'm not much of a comfort food eater, but I make an exception for Moonshine. Complimentary popcorn is a novel and yummy welcome for lunch/dinner! However, I would say the best part of Moonshine is their Sunday brunch. All you can eat buffet with SO MANY options. It's a bit pricey, but SO worth it.

This establishment is my go-to place for an inexpensive and pleasing buffet brunch! I always take guests visiting from out of town to here. Their cornflake-crusted chicken strips with their honey mustard dipping sauce is amazing. So is their white chocolate bread pudding. There are all sorts of varieties of fresh salads, pastries, tacos...I really don't think anyone can leave displeased. Washed down with a tasty mimosa or margarita, I think a meal at Moonshine's is a sure win.

Nice place with good atmosphere. I got the shrimp and grits. Not the best. The shrimp was served dry on top of the grits with the heads attached. Instead of getting the shrimp right they just drowned it in salt. The beans, ironically, needed more salt really bad.

Moonshine is my absolute favorite restaurant in Austin. We had our rehearsal dinner on their patio, and it was absolutely perfect. Their team was very helpful and the food was delicious as always!

Food was really good as was the service. But the people taking care of seating definitely have problems. We waited 1 hour 45 minutes for a table and watched people that came in after us get seated.

The patio here is so fantastic! It's a great place to sit and have a Sunday brunch. Their "Moonshine" is also pretty delicious. Great location to people watch. Great atmosphere. Great service.

Excellent food! The staff were very professional and knowledgeable with the menu with the foods they served. The drinks are perfect. Not to stong but not to weak. Promise you leave feeling good.

Yummy Yummy! Dinner starts with popcorn, they make a great margarita, the mac and cheese is killer, and you can't go wrong with a single dessert on the menu. It's one of my favorite places to take out of town guests and locals on birthdays. Just can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Did not warrant all the previous hype, food is below par and beverages are simply awful. My table ordered several different drinks, hoping they wouldn't be as bad as the one before, but each time they got worse. simply they served a cheap mix, a lot of ice, and garnish the drinks with old produce and next not to actual liquor. I wouldn't go back again, not a single person in the table of 6 had a single positive thing to say.

Great down home comfort food in a down home comfortable setting. Never a bad meal and there are great areas inside and outside to enjoy a meal. I have had lunch and dinner there almost 100 times but never have had their brunch which I have heard is awesome. Enjoy!

We visited Austin in July. We just finished the duck tours and we were hungry. We saw this place just as the tour was finishing. Easy walking distance from the visitors center for Austin. This was a cool place to see. I loved it. We went here for lunch and my wife and I split our sandwiches of the chicken sandwich and the pig sandwich. These are huge! They were delicious too. They have popcorn on your table to nibble on. The kids loved that. The atmosphere was great. Very clean, the servers are awesome. We sat on the back deck looking over a small quiet side street. It was my 5 year olds Birthday and they brought out a huge dessert for him and us to share.

Loved our whole first experience earlier this week. The server was welcoming and knowledgeable, food was full-figured and pretty amazing. From Chipotle Gravy and The Mac Cheese to the refreshing libations, it was well worth it. Valet was prompt and affordable as well. We'll be back.

Wife and I love this place! Appetizers and desserts are amazing, so be sure to not just come for the entrees. Bar is always well stocked with a great assortment of whiskey. Have never had anything but friendly staff to make our trips that much more enjoyable

I wish they would have a separate menu for brunch instead of a buffet. I'm vegan and the waitress who took care of us informed us that they have vegan and vegetarian options and it's noted next to the food. She lied, I had to guess what I could eat and it was just fruit, and avacodo toast. Waste of my money, if you're vegan do not go to this place! You only have two choices for brunch

My family and i were visiting Austin and got our first taste of southern hospitality from Moonshine. Our experience was great. Our server Sonia, gave us fantastic recommendations (the trout was AMAZING!) and was so knowledgable and attentive. My boys loved her Texas accent and when we got out check, she had even written down some places for us to check out while we are in town! We will definitely be back!

I would probably give Moonshine 5 stars, however our most recent experience wasn't as great as our other visits. There can be long waits on the weekends but during our recent trip we actually got in a lot sooner than expected. I've tried a variety of things on the menu including mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, the burger, thick potato fries, roasted sweet potatoes, smoked half-chicken and the sweet potato fries. For dessert I've had the bread pudding and peanut butter mousse pie. Definitely share the desserts, they are huge! Our last visit the service was pretty bad. I ordered a mocktail and got it about 20 minutes after the rest of my table got their alcoholic drinks. Our waiter was just very slow and it felt like we were constantly waiting on him. Usually I'm pretty patient but for being a really busy restaurant, I'm surprised he didn't move a little faster.

This amazing place is VERY worthwhile as a destination all by itself. Whether you are a bird lover or not, a visit to Parrot Mountain is a must. There are hundreds of parrots of all kinds and sizes (some inside cages and lots on perches with no cages) and you can even hand feed and hold them. These birds are so lovingly cared for (some were peoples former pets, some donated, and some raised right at the facility). You can even go into the nursery and hold and visit the babies. A note for those with walking disabilities, a golf cart is available for rent to get you around the grounds but please folks, there's only four of them so please don't rent one unless you really, physically need it. They also have a snack bar and a gift shop. We LOVED this place!!

When asking locals where to eat in Austin, Moonshine came up frequently and I can understand why. Its a few blocks off 6th (a plus in my book!) and the place is expansive, and it was packed. The food was amazing (I had the ribs) and the dessert (apple pie) was phenomenal. Great wait staff, great food, at a decent price point - worth every penny!

Took wife there for our 18th Anniversary and it did not disappoint. I had the Chicken and Waffles she had the Trout, they were both exceptional and plentiful. The left-overs we had the next day were just as good:-) Fried Green Tomatoes are also a must have.
