Truly 5 Stars!!!!! :)!!!!!
The staff were all SUPER friendly, helpful, and delightful!! The breakfast/brunch buffet was DELICIOUS!! SOOOO many delicious food to enjoy! We had a wonderful time and ate wayyyyy too much amazing food!! The bloody Mary drink was perfection (even had a yummy green bean & mini-corn in it besides the stuffed green olive & celery!!)! The place is dog friendly, and employees restrained from petting our attractive dog. LoL

If you're trying to decide between this place and another: go here. It's incredible. The drinks, food, and service is amazing. I came with my mother and father in law and they raved about it. It is such a beautiful restaurant. I got the chicken fried steak, my father in law got chicken and waffles, and my mother in law got some sort of grit cake. All were out of this world.

Sunday brunch is delicious. So much food with a great variety, even for us vegetarians. The apple danish I had was the best I've ever had. However, their dinner menu is definitely lacking in veggie options.

We always visit Moonshine Grill when we have company in town or want to take friends out for a nice evening. The food and service always remain consistently excellent, and you can't go wrong with any menu item. They serve up buckets of tasty popcorn (made fresh) and these delicious little cornbread muffins. The atmosphere is comfortable and classy, set in a historic building. I recommend utilizing their valet service, it will save you a few bucks and the hassle of trying to find a parking spot.

My company has hosted two happy hour events at Moonshine Patio Bar & Grill in conjunction with national conferences. Both of them were a great success thanks in large part to the superior service and high-quality fare. Attendees actually stopped by our booth to thank us and commend us on the event. The servers were so attentive -- from ensuring the fans were keeping us as cool as possible to escorting out interlopers. They made the event hassle-free. The chef even came out to consult with me on options for replenishing the appetizers due to our strong turnout. I can't praise the staff, the food, and the drinks enough -- all were top-notch. If you are planning an event in Austin, I highly recommend you call Moonshine Patio Bar & Grill. I also popped in for lunch one day and experienced the same great service and delicious food.

Excellent environment and food. When we showed up there was a short wait, we moved to the outdoor bar and ended up with a table and full service without the wait. The staff was friendly, attentive, and quick.

I was eager to try the chicken and waffles here as they ve received rave reviews. The excitement was short lived as we found out after being seated that Sunday is buffet style only. This is not well advertised and you ll find this detail in the about section of the website. We contemplated leaving after finding out that ordering off the menu wasn t an option, but decided to stick it out after being told that there was fried chicken and Belgian waffles available as part of the buffet. The fried chicken was mediocre and the cold Belgian waffles were made of corn meal that made it feel like you were eating a cornbread muffin. Buffets are difficult to do well, especially when it comes to temperature control and quality, and this was no exception. Given this place is so well rated, I d be willing to give it another chance when their regular menu is available, but I d steer clear of the buffet.

Great spot for a drink and a meal. If you plan to go here on the weekend I would advise going before 6pm or else you could run into a two hour wait. Would def recommend the strawberry moonshine and the chicken and waffles that have big portions.

Just had the Jalapeno Hangar Steak with Baked Pimento Mac and cheese. Steak was perfectly cooked. I found the chimichurri to be a little heavy on the olive oil, by the steak was great without it. The Mac was good, not great, but the 5 stars is for the steak and the awesome service.

I ordered food from Moonshine via Amazon's food delivery app. I ordered the salmon with the garlic grits and sweet potato fries and my roommate ordered the steak with grits as well. The food was all fantastic - grits were super flavorful, sweet potato fries were seasoned well. The Amazon delivery driver actually ended up forgetting our sides at first, and when we called Moonshine back to tell them about the ordeal they allowed us to reorder from the app during their busy time, gave us our missing sides, and also included two pieces of the free Peanut Butter cake as an apology (when it wasn't even their fault!). So overall, would DEFINITELY go back, and the restaurant and staff was so kind in giving us a dessert to make up for forgetting the sides initially. Highly recommend!

So funny that it doesn't surprise me how many awesome reviews there is for Moonshine and how when searching "best restaurants" in Austin it was one of the top five to come up.

When visiting Austin, my husband and I ate here our first night in town and it did not disappoint. So much southern charm I don't even know where to begin!

Seriously even the food could have sucked and you'd still have a good time here just because of the eclectic southern atmosphere. Now thankfully the food is actually amazing so you don't have to worry about not liking it, I'm sure it will impress to say the least.

Drinks here are great and if you don't have a reservation you can grab a drink while you wait for a table. We were here on a weeknight but it was decently crowded and I have no question as to why.

Food wise there's a lot of tasty southern food. I didn't have as many dietary restrictions when first eating here as I do now (gluten and dairy intolerant). I would still come here next time we visit though just because the atmosphere was that charming. In the least I know I can have the cocktails here.

Oh the porch is adorable as well. Perfect for summer to be sipping a cocktail on the porch, or some spiked or regular sweet tea. I'll be back for you, Moonshine.

I was traveling for work and went here by myself on a Friday night. Rather than waiting for a traditional table, I was told that they had many different bars and common tables one could sit at without a wait. I chose to go to the patio bar. The service was excellent! Multiple bartenders/servers waited on me and made sure I had everything I needed. The food came quickly and was really delicious. I'd highly recommend this place!

Amazing buffet brunch! Been here several times and I always love it! My favorite is the home made whipped cream on the pancakes and strawberries. Try and get there early because it tends to get pretty busy pretty quickly and sometimes wait time is over an hour

Stopped here for breakfast first morning in Austin downtown. I heard about how good their country fried steak is from my friend and it did not disappoint. The meat was tender and the gravy really complemented meat. Also I had the margarita and it was just average. Next time I want to try their whiskey collection.

Cool place, friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. The food in the Sunday brunch buffet was a little bland though. I though 'chicken-fried steak' sounded inventive but the taste was not amazing

This place has some really good food but parking and the wait hurt it. First parking in the area sucks because it is next the the convention so it fills up really fast. They also don't have their own lot but do have valet parking. My girlfriend ordered the CORNFLAKE FRIED CHICKEN salad and I got the TENDER BELLY with mac & cheese. The cornflake fried chicken is amazing. Better than my sandwich. Unfortunately you have to order it as a salad and not as it own entree. I would definitely go back when I visit Austin again.

Atmosphere is cool. Service was slow and inept. Paying 21 dollars for a po'boy makes you expect something great. What I got instead was a heavily fried piece of catfish, bread, lettuce, tomato, regular tartar sauce, and standard fries. Very disappointing considering the reviews of this place

I visited this restaurant at the suggestion of my sister and her husband, while visiting Austin. I really really enjoyed the ambience of this restaurant. Our server, Adam, was excellent! They bring popcorn and we also had biscuits before our entrees were served. The actual entree was huge and I took everything I couldn't eat home!!!

Definitely a must eat.

Austin can be quite chaotic and hard to decide just where to go. Sometimes when your traveling you just want a nice, chill place to have some good food and drinks...well look no further. This place will really offer you the best of those both worlds...and no matter if your a patio people watcher or an AC only patron they have you "covered" on both accounts.

The chicken and waffles were great and the drinks even better. So if your thirsty and in a mood for relax, enjoy, and actually have a good bite too...come out to moonshine grill...I doub't it will disappoint : )

Came here to have a nice time for a bachelorette party. The bartender decided our party of 11 was not fit to serve, even though we waited over an hour. Severely disappointed. Manager was not apt to handle the situation. Planned to eat here for over a month , can not express how patheticly planned this establishment was run.

Bonding with family and friends in such a family atmosphere was quite a treat. The Staff was extremely supportive in making our time together even more memorable. Even during such a busy time , they still keep eye contact on the table and guests. This in itself made one feel like a VIP guest. The wait time for food wasn't very long and was very worth the wait. Thank you moonshine grill and yes I will definitely be back

Long wait and small menu that wasn t that thrilling. The server was never around and seemed irritated when we asked her for things. The best thing was the peanut butter pie. Wouldn t go here again.
