Great atmosphere and good food. We just happened upon it, but really enjoyed our time.

Great whiskey selection and great service. Food is pretty darn good too. You may need to wait a while, but there's a nice spot with high tops to kill some time having drinks and snacking on their popcorn with this special spice. Definitely a must try.

Great food even better customer service! They welcome all customers with respect and you get great quality and quantity for your money. Our waiter Shaun was awesome and next time I leave the comforts of Houston for a quick trip to Austin I will visit again. Try the grits and hard lemonade yummmm!

Cannot say enough great things about this place!

The food was fantastic, try the Fried Green Tomatoes! The staff each time we went were engaging, funny and offered excellent recommendations.

If you go to Austin, I would HIGHLY recommend you visit Moonshine, at least once!

Awesome restaurant in Austin! We traveled to Austin from Wisconsin for our honeymoon, and we ended up going to Moonshine twice on our trip. The strawberry moonshine is great! Smooth and tasty! The mule is also a great cocktail. The chicken and waffles and the hanger steak were two of our absolute favorite items on the menu! Great service as well!

Love the ambiance in every inch of Moonshine. The popcorn to chase away the hangries is just the beginning. All of their cocktails are excellent and so is the food. Make sure to make a reservation or prepare for a wait on busy nights/weekends.

The cocktails here were really great, the food was unique and tasted amazing. Staff was friendly and had a smile on their faces even though it was super hot outside. The patio was comfortable, even in the heat.

Moonshine Grill is amazing! The atmosphere and location are great. Every table had popcorn on it as an appetizer. Super fun!

The buffet brunch was amazing, with many delicious options. We had about an hour wait, but I completely forgave that as soon as I tasted the meal. My experience was definitely a highlight of my day!

The food here was AMAZING! And our server/bartender was so helpful and nice, it was a great time! Also drinks were so good (and strong lol)...just what I was looking for :)

The food here was amazing! I was with my girlfriend and a couple other people. Each one of us REALLY liked our food. The server was attentive to us (but not too much) and she was also very knowledgeable about the food. We went there because it was listed on Google search as one of the best places to eat. We are certainly glad we did the search. A bit on the pricey end but worth the trip every once in a while.

I had the sea bass with crab fried rice which was the best I have ever had. We ordered calamari for the table which was also excellent. Great atmosphere and fantastic view.

Come early. No line whatsoever. Amazing comfort food and friendly service.

Everything is delicious right down to the complimentary popcorn and corn muffins. Beware: the wait can be over an hour even at off times but it's definitely worth it.

What a delight! Cozy, intimate, yet bustling and cosmopolitan. Food, service and atmosphere was wonderful! Their moonshine was a treat. The sauces were unique with just the right amount of kick to them. It appeared that they have several meeting rooms but they did not intrude on the public dining experience. There was an outdoor patio and I'm told they have a wonderful weekend brunch. Definitely a stop worth making! Oh yes, public parking garage nearby so easy access.

Consider sharing a meal here. Portions were big and the Ambiance was very nice. There can be a wait so make sure you get there early. We sat on the patio with drinks for 40 min.

Food and atmosphere was great. Staff was friendly. You won't be disappointed.

Quality food and beverages do not come cheap, so bring a fist full of cash or your Black AmEx. The Old Fashioned at the bar, while waiting for a table, was spot on; same for a Margarita on the rocks. The pair set me back just under $20.00, before tip. Dinner was also memorable, as the entrees were varied, but true to their Southern cooking theme. Logistically, this is a SOB to get parking, due to construction, and valet parking will lighten your pocket more than a two drinks. For charm and quality, they deserve 4 of 5 stars. I did not provide 5 of 5 stars because of the parking issue, and refills for sweet tea were slower than I prefer. The Moonshine Grill is worthy of your time. Do not let a 4 star dissuade you from enjoying a good time. A waiter who is "on it" and keeps things moving along , would have made a very solid 4 star rating, a 5 stars rating. My favorite part of the evening was sitting at the bar.

Awesome service at the lower level bar with excellent food. Loved both the pork chop and flat iron steak (cooked rare per recommendation of our server). Old Fashioned is not to be missed! I will be back!

Stopped in after a taking a tour around the city. I was starving, got the pulled pork on a pretzel roll. It was amazing, so much flavor. Service was great, atmosphere was cool. I sat out side. Price was wasnt to much for what i got. I would definitely go back again.

This place was awesome, we walked in, got seated quickly, then the server was on the ball! The popcorn is a nice table add to start, then you need to go for the chicken and waffles, oh my they were so good! I tried the chicken fried steak as well and that was good too. But the chicken and waffles were on point and you need to get those if you go there!

Been here a few times already. Food and service is great and prices are reasonable. Happy hour prices were really nice and our German chocolate cake was a nice way to top off the experience.

Been working a lot - me at my fulltime job...the Mrs at hers - being a great brand new mommy to our beautiful baby girl.....So... We couldn't travel to be with fam, and didn't have time (or energy) for cooking...therefore we came here for Thanksgiving... Just wanna say Thank you - not only was the food great (the green chile turkey stew was to die for!), but when we got the check, the bill just read "Happy 1st Thanksgiving." Again, thank you guys - have a blessed Holidays

My Chile Mac and cheese was delicious. Great portion side and was great leftovers for breakfast. Wish it had the bacon in our like the menu said. But I got over it because it was still delicious.

Nice South American cuisine, coupled with good service and great ambience.

Travel for my job...eat at lots of places...this is one of my all time favorites...try to go for lunch and get dinner to go....service is spectacular...moonshine ain't bad either!

The perfect send-off from Austin is here at Moonshine. Great service, knowledgeable and friendly. Fantastic food! Get the Farmers Plate, it is scrumptious and filling. Perhaps the cherry, excuse me strawberry, on top was the increadably yummy moonshine flight. The best way to experience Austin is Moonshine, wish we had gone sooner, but now I know I will be back Everytime I am in town.

Greeters and servers seemed "streetched" to the max. We had to wait 30 mins for a table at 3pm on a Friday. We had hamburgers and side orders those were good enough. The home made lemonade was excellent. I would go back again on a weekday if less crowded.

Had the Jalopena Skirt Steak. It was awesome. Served with rosemary fries and tasty corn bread muffins. Excellent.

I went for the most popular option, and was not disappointed at all. A hefty portion of delicious, tender, flavorful chicken and hearty golden brown waffles. This may be the best fried chicken I've ever had. The savory dip, contrasted by the sweet syrup is a wonderful combination. I say at the bar and each of my neighbors also thoroughly enjoyed the entrees they chose, the chicken fried steak. I will definitely go back here every time I'm in Austin.

Not being from Texas, I was really hoping this place would be air conditioned, but it had ginormous fans. Ordered the pork chop and grits... Highly recommend!

They serve so much good stuff at once that we weren't sure if we handle it. There was quite loud inside but worth trying.

Brunch is amazing! Totally worth the wait, which is usually 1-2 hrs. Dinner here is also really good. Recommend the veggie sandwich (and I'm not even a vegetarian, it was that good), chipotle chicken fried steak, and the green chile Mac n cheese.

Unique tastes and great atmosphere. This is the perfect spot for a dinner with your significant or small group of friends that isn't too formal. The service was a bit slow but the food and atmosphere made up for it.

A place for locals and visitors in the Austin area to meet, eat, and drink. One of the best wait staff and kitchen teams I have ever observed. Their communication and teamwork shines through every interaction. It was a true pleasure eating here, and I plan to do so again soon.

Wait was ridiculous, but the food was decent. I'm not sure I would wait 2.5 hours again for decent food. It didn't seem that long though because we ordered drinks and appetizers through the bar and enjoyed them on the porch in the mist. That helped pass the time.

Checked and waffles were incredible. I do wish the waffles were a little lighter though
