It was smaller than I thought.. the Buffett wasn't that great..

Gorgeous upscale looking rooms. A bit pricey. Jackpots take over an hour for payout. Not conducive of a well managed operation when players have to wait this long. Especially in high limits.

Most employees are great! Helpful, responsive, and polite. Steak sandwiche was super fatty and hard to eat.... And overpriced. Lots of available machines and good variety. Waitresses are FABULOUS! Better than most of the casinos around there.

What a great casino, staff is friendly and very helpful in teaching you the table games

Clean, friendly atmosphere. Well lit, lots of game choices. Food is great! Easy parking.

I like this casino best, sometimes win, but always get to play for a nice long time.

New hotel the rooms are awesome but be careful cause they have overcharged a number of my friends and will not offer a refund.

They seem to have a great plan, lot's of sanitizers set up. They clean machines alot and their system using the cards in machine when it was last cleaned is great. Ran to other casino and did not see more than one sanitizer. Slots are way to tight and need to me re-set for more payouts.

The main restaurant is fabulous ! I love the all you can eat crab and the lobster tail ! Yes !!!

My husband and I had dinner here on 8/10/15. We went for the all you can eat crab legs. They also give you a ticket for one whole lobster or just the tail. It was $18.99. I think on weekends it's $22.99. The crab legs were so good! It was definitely worth the price. They had hot and cold crab legs, lobster, clams, shrimp, prime rib, salad, etc. We only tried some of the side items, we mostly focused on the crab legs and lobster. The side items were ok. The dessert bar was very good with lots to pick from. I think this restaurant is more quality than quantity, which is nice. We will definitely go back again.

Still under construction outside which makes it inconvenient to access. Do like the casino floor and they had a wide variety of slot machines.

Good "rest stop" after driving up the hill.....before you hit the better casinos.

Whoever made the lunch menu should be fired!! The hostess should explain to you the menu before you go to sit down.
$10 for six chicken pieces, no fries, no second glass of tea. It was a total waste of our time, we will not be back anytime soon.

The casino was nice . The buffet was ok . Really my only complaint was having to wear a mask while gambling . It just made it hot and a bit miserable for me .

I seem to always have good luck here. Overall, the staff is fun to joke with, and people are always friendly at the tables.

They have tightened their slots and you don't stand a chance.

Parking is pretty easy, you'll go down to the first floor and a bus takes you to the casino. Usually go to the buffet here, hotel is under construction. Food is a hit or miss depending on the time that you go, the same food is served almost every night. Most come here for the lobster, which at first were small now every time we've come they have been fuller and nicer. The kitchen staff is friendly. The servers and bussers are quick. Outside of the buffet there are seats for those who want to relax while others in their party play. Cocktail waitresses serve drinks when you've sat and play awhile. There's also stations for refreshments with sodas, coffee, hot chocolate and tea.

Monarch has been very generous with their free gifts and I've actually won some money from here. Their slots are mostly new and table games line the main floor middle. The buffet has a free lobster and unlimited crab legs at night.

I like the atmosphere here and the staff is always helpful. It has plenty of slots and tables

Was put into the Spa Suite. It's awesome!!! Slots are hitting, roulette numbers also are hitting. Having a blast!!!

Love the casino but waited 45 min for the buffet just to find out that we could only get half a lb of crab legs per person. That's the reason I liked the Monarch in the first place. Didn't appreciate the limitation.

This was the worst prime rib I ever had. It was supposed to be medium rare came well done. Tougher then a round steak. The crab was under cooked food was cold. Terrible terrible buffet. Drink waiters don t pay attention to customers. One got in a fight with a customer because she refused to take there drink order. It s really sad that this cAsion is letting itself go so quick. Hopefully they turn it around to maybe get some customers respect back.

Great seafood buffet with crab legs, shrimp, salmon and lobster. Prime rib. Some Mexican food, Pho, salad bar, great desserts.

It sucked the machines were so tight no one was winning!! I had one machine break and it took forever for the employee to come fix it.. It was just a bad experience..

Ten family members took my dad to the buffet for his 90th birthday. We were so excited to have the lobster included BUT EVERY SINGLE LOBSTER (ten of them!!) was disgustingly overcooked, rubbery and tasted like a mouth full of salt . Absolutely the WORST lobster I ve ever eaten.
Crab legs were good and the prime rib was decent-ish. Service was great (tip is included in the ridiculously high price). Will not be eating at this buffet again.

New and still under construction. Beautiful facility. Staff is constantly wiping machines with sanitizer due to pandemic.

We had a good overnight stay!! The property is nice and new, rooms are comfortable, staff is friendly, especially the bar tenders (Roxy in High Limit was Awesome), rooftop pool and hot tub was enjoyable! Nice views! Food is a little pricier but very good, lots of options to choose from. The slots were hit or miss but fun!! We will be back!! Wish I had better pics but we had to leave so they could shoot their commercials today!

Seems rarely these days that expectations are exceeded, especially at a value price.

Not a person that gives reviews positive or negative but my Monarch Hotel stay was top notch in every way! Room was elegant, clean, and smartly designed. Food was great and casino well equipped.

The 1-star review is for "The Buffet". Really bad. My meal came out first. Wife's came out 12 mins later. My food got cold while I waited for hers. Then the food was pretty sub standard. Salad had a lot of dead lettuce in it. Wife's salmon was bland and the accompanying rice and veggies were cold. Never again.

Issue with my free play that was lost and the service person never came back after going to talkmto his manager and look at my card. The place itself is nice. Need more electronic roulette stations that work. The resturant in place of the buffet was amazing and service was so much better than Ameristar. Looking forward to the hotel opening.

Nice and clean! Buffet was good, not a huge variety but good enough. Remodeling can't wait till they are done!

HAD THE WORST EXPERIENCE AT MONARCH CASINO!!
Both my husband and I played the slot machines for two days while visiting Monarch at Black Hawk.
We were led to believe to be eligible for the FREE buffet we had to play for a designated amount of points accumulated with no specific time limit. Ok. No problem. Sounded great. I played at a slot machine the first day spending $25+ for 45 min with 0 points obtained. Next day, we both played at slots then moved to the bar and played video gaming. Between the two of us we played with $80+ and both accumulated 2 pts each. Total spent WELL OVER $105 with not enough points for the complimentary buffet. What s wrong with this picture. It s called BEING RIPPED OFF!!!! Spoke to a Host, Players info desk and few other important people who could care less about customer service. All we got was what do you want me to do?
My advise...choose another casino in the area or choose Monarch to THROW YOUR MONEY AWAY and get rudeness from the staff. Something is very shady at this casino.
Will never never return and will be passing this horrible experience at Monarch on to many others.

Used to be better. The last three visits, theres pretty much no drink service. Last time I only saw a waitress 3 times and one of those she forgot to bring my drink. (I tip well, so I dont think its me.) Today I was on a machine for an hour before without ever seeing a waitress until I asked one of the security people to send one over. A waitress brought my drink and then never came back. I do like the free play credit. Wish they would bring back more of the lobstermania machines.

Very nice hotel food at the 24/7 restaurant was very food. Buffet was not open the first night we arrived, 2nd night it was and service was great. Beds are not as soft as advertised.

I don't like place.because.not giving too much.no good you guys casino.
