John Deere main dealer.

Purchased a John Deere x950r lawnmower and within months had 3 problems. After 15 months 2 have not been fixed satisfactorily.

1st problem was condensation in the digital display. Rang dealer and was told it would clear up on it's own. After the 1st year service they admitted it was a known problem and would not be fixing or repairing. That's great news. We all know how well water and electrics mix. Sometime in the future, out of warranty, the display will rust and or fail.

2nd problem is with the water coolant. It has leaked from day one. It reminds me of my old 1974 mini - every time you want to use it - maintain the coolant level! The radiator is to be found behind the engine block, what a great design having a hot engine in front of the main cooling device, this needs to be monitored daily. Not only the water / coolant level but the radiator guard needs to be cleaned daily to operate efficiently. I am not joking the slightest build of dust and the thermostat starts to rise. That is starts to rise when it is connected properly. Daily coolant loss approximately 0.8mm on side scale of water reservoir.

3rd problem was severe overheating which caused radiator meltdown, yes a plastic radiator, puncture and automatic shutdown of lawnmower. Apparently the thermostat was connected improperly in the manufacturing process and this led to the above mentioned issue. Operator error ruled out as display showed no abnormal rise in temperature (same display obscured by condensation from day one.) "Don't worry the condensation will clear in time" - sound Farol advice.

FACT: previous lawnmower was an Iseki sx19 which never had any problems with dust, radiator issues or a painfully slow deck raise/lower mechanism and dire collection box reengagment process. Right hand drive is also missed but hey ho Americans and Europeans love using their right hands for implement manipulation.

I purchased a John Deere x125 ride on mower three years ago and 90 hours of use the petrol tank has worked loose.not what I would expect of a machine of this cost and reputation but also dangerous.I contacted Farol who I bought it from .Their response was to quote the cost of repair as it was out of guarantee .I feel that this was a manufacturing fault which should be rectified at no cost .I don't think this is very good for the reputation ofJohn Deere or Farol from whom I have had no support and I would not recommend them.

Bit daunting walking into such a big agricultural type of dealers but once I was seen too I was served by a friendly knowledgeable assistant. Products choices explained to me and alternatives offered and goods brought out to me and opened and tested.
